Maryanne--I can just see Midnight being that attentive when a chart is explained to him. He has such a great relationship with going to the vet.

My email is being filled with offers from Nutrisystem and Noom. The Noom offer is 80% off and two weeks free, The Nutrisystem is a BOGO offer of buy one month, get one month free.

I had two medium eggs for breakfast, which according to the carton is 140 calories for both.

I've spent the morning sorting and getting ready to make a run to the donation place when I go for an eye appointment on Saturday. I just made my perfect hard boiled eggs in my egg cooker.

I wonder if DH would use one of those.

I’ve never had difficulty making hard boiled eggs, but I did occasionally have a hard time peeling them until I learned an easy method. I use a small wide-mouth jar with a lid. Put the egg in it with about a tablespoon of water. Shake it for a few seconds until the egg has lots of cracks in it. Dump out the water, and the shell will usually slide right off.

I’ve been really busy today. My friend who just received a cancer diagnosis learned that since she can’t travel to be with her kids for Christmas, they are coming to her. Since they weren’t planning to be at home for Christmas, they had done very little decorating or baking in preparation. I offered to bake some cookies for them, so this morning I made 2 kinds of cookies to take over for them to have.

In addition to the baking, I’m doing laundry and trying to get organized for our trip. We are leaving tomorrow morning and I still haven’t started packing. I’ll get it all together, but right now I’m feeling a bit disorganized.

We had dinner last night at a friend’s home. The husband cooked a delicious tenderloin of beef on the grill, which was served with a wonderful horseradish sauce, asparagus, oven roasted new potatoes, and hot rolls. For dessert we had her delicious home made apple pie. Each of the guests had brought an appetizer, so we had some delicious choices there as well. It was a very nice evening and they invited us all back for a New Year’s Eve Party. However, we are planning to start that at 4:30 with appetizers, have home made pizzas later, and probably be home before 10:00. We will probably play some games as well as talk and laugh a lot.

Pam--My method of shelling hard boiled eggs is to immediately submerge them in cold water and then take a knife handle and beginning with the big end with the air space is to crack the egg all over and then roll in my hand to loosen up shell. Then beginning with the air space, take the shell and peel it off.

It is good of youi to fix some things for the friend with cancer. I'm sure that you will get things ready for the trip. The New Year's Eve party sounds nicew as did the dinner at the friend's home.

Morning! I am sneezing; I am sure that it is from the decluttering I did yesterday. A streak of motivation hit me so I took advantage of it.

Pam, you are such a wonderful friend. That was so sweet to take over homemade cookies. It’s nice that her children are making the trip to share Christmas together.

Everyone around here is sick so hopefully you're right and it's just dust or something!

Feel good story: stolen dog found 2,000 miles from home and is being transported back home by volunteer drivers: https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2019/12/12/stolen-pit-bull-taken-back-home-to-montana/

That’s great news the dog was recovered and returned home. Did the story say how long he was missing?

Maryanne--That story about the stolen dog was big news here. Thanks to microchipping, the dog is now at home with his owners.

Helene--The dog was snatched around Halloween. It was taken to a shelter when the person having it in its possession was arrested.

If I were a tech wizard I would edit this to say “my friends on My Fitness Pal”, but I’m not a tech wizard, lol!

I have even less tech skills. So here’s me wishing Pam, Jean and Maryanne a wonderful Christmas. Our’s has been quiet. We had plans to pick up my sister and BIL over the weekend. She wasn’t feeling well so we had to cancel. Her doctor has her on a new BP medication and she feels and sounds much better. We’re driving over tomorrow to pick them up. We’ll stay overnight and bring them back home with us til New Year’s day.

I spent Christmas Day at the pet ER. As I told them, it wasn't my first Christmas Day in that building although my first at the ER (the year our late Jingle Bells had his last surgery I visited him on Christmas Day). My favorite cat at the colonies had something on his forehead Saturday. Looked to me like a well attached disc of dried mud. Sharon called me Tuesday to tell me his head was all bloody so yesterday morning when I fed I went with a carrier. It looks like a wound on the side of his head. I wonder if he was trying to rub off the disc or scratch it off. I was able to put him in a carrier and head to the ER. They were SO busy we were there about 4 hours, as really not a serious emergency. The doctor finally came in and same he was hesitant to sedate him to treat the wound since my plan was to take him to the regular vet today to update vaccinations, etc. and they would have to sedate him again (I think he just didn't want to do it). He wanted me to take him home and give him food in the carrier. Really? What a mess that would end up being. I talked him into keeping him overnight and just have to hope he doesn't bite anyone since he's probably 2 or 3 weeks past the one-year mark on his rabies shot.

Maryanne--What a way to spend Christmas Day but when you care about the fur babies, you do what is necessary. The ER vet seemed less than cooperative, but I do hope all works out.

I weighed Midnight this morning. He is continuing to lose weight gradually. He didn't eat his breakfast and has napped all morning except for a grooming session.

That is SO frustrating! Been there, done that. I've got it much easier than you do getting a cat to the vet but still frustrating.
