Hi All. My name is Julie. I am 41 and 5'9. I have two boys and live in South Africa.
I started mfp in October 2018 at 264.5lbs and set out to lose 120lbs to reach my goal weight of 145. I have had some wobbles but so far so good! I have about 8lbs to lose to move out of the obese BMI range and into overweight π. I have been part of this challenge since November and really rely on it to keep my morale up - so thank you everyone xx
Julie, nice loss. I use this group as well ti stay motivated and help me toward my goals.1 -
Hi All!
Iβve been in the biggest loser challenger since September- I was strongest posting in the fall and then let stress and work get the best of me and Just fell off the wagon. Hoping to jump back in and eat good and feel good again.
For those i havenβt met yet In the new March challenge- Iβm from NYC - I travel often, Iβm in love with Africa and photography. Iβm a vegetable adventurer - i like trying new foods. Iβve lost 40 ish pounds. Iβm about 5β9- I hover in the 140s and my goal weight is 128-132 range. Iβve been straddling the 140s for a while as I go back and forth with keto or not keto and building lean muscle mass and burning leftover fluffy phat.
Ps- I loooove kale and do green shakes everyday - π₯¬ lol itβs like brain juice for me.
Daily stat check in-
Tracked- yes
Calories- under
Exercise- 45 min soulcycle , 5 lb weights - 10min weight session arms.
Goal - be mindful and practice wellness this week.
Excellent goal and I also love my shakes in the am as although my nutritionist does not agree.0 -

Comments/Goals: Have extreme DOMS from yesterday's gym restart, so rest day needed. I'm experiencing lots of stress and it's triggering my food addiction. Although I have managed to stay under calories, I could not stick to my detox fasting protocol as I'd planned. Came back to hell here basically, after a week in paradise.ππ£
Question: HOW DO YOU MANAGE STRESS EATING?
I'm a rare case but I eat my feelings so I've been in therapy for over six years now and I am just conquering the inner me (the root of the issue) that causes me to stress eat. Stress eat is not an easy battle it comes from a lot of different personal issues so you need to figure the cause and find some different coping strategies to help you through. For me it's therapy but it is different for each individual.2 -

I tell myself this a lot.
10 more minutes on the elliptical, one more set, etc. Or when I have had my one meal and want to eat more.

Today was my birthday, and my well-meaning coworkers brought in tasty treats that I couldn't say no to. I got on the scale this morning and it was disastrous! I really need to work on my mindless eating.
As far as how I handle stress eating, I don't. I eat when stressed, when bored, when happy. I am a mess as far as that goes.0 -

Oh yes this my weakness myself but I found a solution to have my taste for spaghetti without the carbs with replacing spaghetti with vegetables yes its not the same but it quenches the craving for spaghetti and if I am craving ziti I add cheese.
Yes a pile of sautΓ©ed veggies with meat sauce on it would be good! Iβm going to do that next time.0 -

Track: yes
Calories: yes, under
Exercise: I did my 100 squats again, which I havent done in a week and a half due to various illnesses....
Water: about 136 oz
Trying to get back in the swing of things here..... I apparently caught the flu last week which kinda knocked me out, and during that time, my daughter caught it as well. Her fever broke over the weekend and while we are both not 100% yet, we are doing much better.
Now I need to get moving here, or I will never hit my goals!3 -

@CourtneyLomonaco One day won't kill you, while you may see a gain, it should go back down.

Lol. . ππIt's funny how the simplest every day things can help us suppress our desire to binge. I incorporate getting my nails and hair cut professionally done as well.1 -

Thank you for sharing Gloria.... I probably would benefit from therapy. Although I have managed to clear some toxic people from my life--and much of my stress subsided thereafter.... work/family stresses though---those are always around me. Constant battle to overcome old habitsπ€·π»ββοΈ1 -
