"coffee poops", I'm dying! Sometimes just the smell gets me twitchy down there! hehe
Yes, your gain is most definitely water weight and will come off in a few days. :-)1 -
Movie was AWESOME and so was the buttery popcorn2

Totally decided to cheat again today. Not as bad. Actually had some self control and others would consider it a low carb day since I kept away from most sugary stuff.
Not even gonna worry about it. Now I'm just excited to start bone broth.
I think tomorrow and some other days I might also include morning coffee too. Shouldn't be a big deal since it will only add maybe 100 or less calories.
Super pumped to get it started!
Also today we did some much needed yard work gorgeous day, lots of shoveling and sun.
Just an overall really great day 😊2 -
Alrighty... Time to get down to some bone brothy business!!! WOOT!!
I am super pumped to get this week going! I'm totally prepared to not see much movement on the scale, but that's ok. I'm doing this for that, but to just push myself mentally. Food has been in control ever since I was a small child... it's time to get some of that control back.
I did already have a cup of coffee this morning that equaled about 75 calories with everything measured out. Not too bad and I'll keep it up probably the whole week b/c the week after is back to OMAD again.
Gotta enjoy my coffee while I can
Yesterday's foods included
4 tiny chicken strips from chick-fil-a
2 small sips of their key lime shake
1 chocolate dipped vanilla caramel ice cream cone
3 pieces of fried chicken
about 2 or so cups of fried coleslaw mix w/ soy sauce, sesame oil, spices, chili sauce
2 coffee w/ unsweetened vanilla almond milk
In all it was still under 100g of carbs so I think it was a successful bonus cheat day. I could've gone crazy again easily, but didn't feel the need to. The Chick-Fil-A strips were so disappointing though. The one near us feels like they can give you less for the same $$ b/c they're ALWAYS super busy. The strips I got weren't even half the size of a normal chicken strip. You know that long skinny piece in a chicken breast? That's what I got.. except half the size. Such a rip off. I've been to some chick-fil-a's where they give you BIG pieces, but not that one.... stupid frickin cheap *kitten* place not making my cheat worth it! lol
Anywho... as of right now. Weight is 171.6. Interested to see how fast all of this extra bloat goes away and what I'll be come Friday for my official weigh in
Let Bone Broth Week BEGIN!1 -
Sounds like a lovely chest, overall, aside from the chicken strips being smaller than what they should be. Enjoy your coffee and broth, I hope you achieve what you desire with your plan.1
-
Yayyyyyy!!!! It's bone broth day today for me too! Gotta hop to the store to get that stuff and more ice cream1

Today’s Date: 4/28/2019
Today's Plan: bone broth fast
Weight Goal for the Month: 162lb
Today’s Weight: 171
Description/Photo of Meals: coffee w/ 1tbs heavy cream & 5tbs of unsweet vanilla almond milk 3tbs monk fruit, lots of bone broth w/ 1/2-1tsp of chicken bouillon
Total calories: 443
Your thoughts/comments on the day: Day one down and many more to go. Feel good, but damn do I pick the worst day to always start these things. I should know by now that my hubs is going to want his marinated chicken thighs.
Sam's had a pack of skin on bone in chicken thighs so I tried those and.... they look and smell so damn good. Air fried so the skin is all crispy.
Pic doesn't do these things justice. It smells so darn good in the house right now. SIGH!
I'm good though. My bone broth is tasty and filling.
I am going to have to start another batch tonight though so it's ready on Tuesday. I'll have enough for tomorrow, but not after that. NP at all. Just gotta defrost some of the chicken feet and get things going.

Those thighs look so good! I’ll take two, please! How soon can you get them to me? 😂😂
I bet you make some kick butt bone broth.1 -
Just catching up and OMG your cheat meals sound amazing. We have a Bojangles here, and Man oh man it is delicious!!!! YUMMY!!!
Stay strong on your broth this week! You are doing great!!!0 -
wsandy- They're really easy to make. Soy sauce, sesame oil, red chili pepper flakes, garlic powder (or minced garlic), onion powder, black pepper, salt, Chinese 5 spice. Mix all that up then put in your chicken and let marinate for a couple of hours. Bake on a rack at 400 for 20min, then flip and bake about 10-20 more minutes just depending on how your oven works and how crispy you want. If in an air fryer, 400, 15min on one side, flip and then about 7 or so mins on the other side.
Be light handed when adding the 5 spice b/c the flavor of it can be extremely pungent, but I just eyeball everything.
Feeling pretty good today. Mentally and physically I'm good.
I did have 2 cups of coffee this morning though to help erm... flush things out lol.

Today's Plan: bone broth fast
Weight Goal for the Month: 162lb
Today’s Weight: 172
Description/Photo of Meals: 2 coffee w/ heavy cream, unsweet almond vanilla milk, monk fruit, bone broth w/ bouillon and last one of the day w/ added bun bo hue seasoning paste
Total calories: 450-550
Your thoughts/comments on the day: Most of the day went pretty well. Felt hunger hunger at around 4pm though and still feeling it a bit now, but I'm good. Just need to drink more water.
Had to reduce the amount of onion I used for this new batch.
Last one I used a HUGE onion in it and while it's still tasty, that's all I can taste lol. Used half of one and took it out after it cooked in the broth overnight.
Also letting this broth cook for longer. The last batch isn't as thick as I've gotten it before and I'm sure it's b/c it didn't cook for nearly as long. Still good though

Omg, that thigh looks yummy😋Doing awesome on your low calories day 👍1
-
Feeling good today. Had one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a very long time. Did not want to get up this morning lol.
I got up too quick though and got dizzy. I feel fine so hopefully just one of those random "got up too quick" things and not something diet related.
I'm still up 4lbs this morning which isn't surprising.
My body gets a taste for bad carbs and sugar and doesn't want to let it go lol.
First & 2nd time I had planned cheats, it took my body about 2 weeks to get back to what it was before. Hopefully won't take that long this time, but we'll see I guess
Also going to start fasting again Thursday. Start off just making it to mid day before breaking it. Have a feeling that I'm going to get those beginners pains again once I get back in to OMAD since I haven't been doing it for so long now. It's ok though. At least now I know what to expect0 -
You are doing great ---and getting back on track is always easier than you think! Hopefully those carbs will leave your body soon !!!1
-
Ok... seriously.... why coffee enemas when you can just drink it and it does the same thing?? No need to stick anything up your butt..... drink that coffee and get cleaned out!
Coming through like the MVP you are coffee!! lol
1 -
A 1/2 bag of sugar free gummies does the same thing to me just sayin'1
-
your coffee enema comment is freaking hilarious! That's right, no enema's needed, sometimes you don't even need to drink it, just the smell will do the trick. lolol1
-
Lol I've read about those gummi bears. If I ever get constipated again, I'll get some lol.
I am struggling y'all. I knew it was gonna get difficult day 3 though. Going to go drink my last cup of broth for the day soon and hope it helps. All I can think about are those ribs I wasn't able to eat on Sunday lol. They're in the freezer so I can have them once I am eating again.
Sigh.... I want to eat. I know this feeling will pass, but it still sucks lol0 -
It does suck - I'm sorry darling Why is it that days I can eat, eating just sounds meh...but days I'm fasting it's all I can freakin' think about!!! HAHAHAH
Those thighs looked amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing - I'm a bone in skin on thigh girl to the SOUL!!!
And oh yeah, those gummies.......or jollies........or jelly beans LOL....EVERY. GD. TIME. LOL1 -
misty- I'm not quite at that point yet.... I'm always thinking about food. lol But yeah.. while fasting.. knowing I can't eat makes me want to even more.

Your thoughts/comments on the day: Having another cup of bone broth. Finished putting the new batch in to jars and was feeling hungry so decided to have more.
Lemme tell ya though. That coffee this morning. WOW. Cleaned me OUT. I was jumping between 169.8-170 this morning until the coffee kicked in.
YAY coffee!! lol Ok TMI but dang did a lot come out too. I wasn't really feeling bloated or anything but that was a surprising amount! lol
Ok enough about my poops....
Felt fine for most of the day. Did feel a little off a few times when I got up to do stuff, but overall I felt good.
At dinner though... that hunger amped up to 100. Man I wanted to eat! I'm ok now though while I sip on my last cup of the day0 -
Ranting for a minute.
Screw the know-it-all "my opinion is the only right one!!" *kitten* on diet Facebook groups.
Carnivore/keto group and someone asked about spreadable tinned meat. 0 carb so if they're dirty keto, it's all good.
After said ahole tells the person no (that they shouldn't eat it) I chime in with my own opinion that if he enjoys it and it works for him, then go for it.
Here comes ahole to tell me that I basically told the poster that he should have chips with it too and how my advice is terrible.
Doesn't give a reason WHY they think it is... Just that I'm wrong.
Seriously??
Someone come tell me why my advice is terrible? It's a carnivore/keto group so OBVIOUSLY I'm not telling anyone to go eat an entire bag of chips or anything of the aort. Well.. obvious to people with functioning damn brains. And not everyone is going to be strict with their diet. If eating some tinned meat or having diet soda or eating a bazillion other not so great things keeps someone eating healthier overall, then you are damn right I'm going to say what I said over and over again bc IMO it is damn good advice and some people need to know they're not the only ones that indulge in not so great foods.
People need to know that they don't have to be strict and perfect all the damn time bc that's why people stop their diets ALL THE TIME.
Ahole is lucky theyre an admin in the group bc I have a potty mouth and I'm not afraid of confrontation on facebook. But I like the group so I held back when replying to the ahole.
Just... uuuuuuugh so annoyed!0 -
Hugs People can be really mean online and I did have my share of those things on FB. After that one time, I didn't post anything anymore. There's no point as those people with that mindset will never change. I rather have some chips to keep my little tastebuds happy than to fall off the wagon1
-
Exactly. That is one thing I've learned on this journey.... you have to do whatever diet you're on your own way. Perfect or not so perfect. People always say that eating healthier is a lifestyle... Well I'm sure the majority of people aren't going to be super strict for the rest of their life or even a month in to their diet.
We ALL know how easily you can give up on a diet b/c you're just not happy doing it.
If being super strict is working and you're happy... that's awesome! Keep it up!
If having a cheat day every week is working and you're happy.... that's awesome! Keep it up!
If having some processed not so great food is working and you're happy..... that's awesome! Keep it up!
But apparently telling folks that and encouraging them to do what works for them is horrible advice.
Anyway.
I think I had too much salt yesterday. Feeling a little bloated.
Also, the dizziness was back this morning. Got up to use the bathroom and stumbled b/c I got dizzy right as I stood.
Looking up info on it, this seems pretty common during water fasts. Low blood pressure. BUT some info says it's from lack of salt, which I'm definitely not lacking b/c of the bouillon I'm using. Suggestions are to increase salt & water intake though and I think that's my problem.
I'm definitely not getting in enough water right now.
Will increase my water intake today and hope it helps.
Almost had a disaster last night too.
I leave my bone broth on the counter to cool off some before putting in to the fridge. I completely forgot to put it up before I went to bed. I couldn't get to sleep for a good hour though so I was just laying in bed when I suddenly realized that I had left my broth sitting on the counter! DOH!
Thank goodness I couldn't get to sleep. I even went to bed early too b/c I was feeling tired. That definitely would've put an end to my bone broth fast lol.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
Yeah --some people in these group chats are all or nothing people ---and for them that is great --but I am human and NOT perfect and if I choose to cheat for a day or a week it is on me and I don't need someone telling me NOT to do it. What I about this group is that we all support each other and we all do our own thing and it is working....I wouldn't be a part of any group where negativity creeps in how frustrating!!!
Drink that water girl ---it will help hopefully with the dizzy spells!!!1 -
HORRAY FOR COFFEE! Pooping is part of life, doesn't bother me whatsoever1
-
vol- Exactly what I love about this group.1
-
Do you use lite salt for potassium? That's what I did when I was keto. I added it to broth, as well. You also need magnesium. Salt, magnesium and potassium work together and must be in balance. A word of caution: too much potassium will mess with your heart rhythm.1
-
Ugh, sorry you had that experience. I tend to avoid those kinds of groups, though I am on a Dr. Fung based fasting group that I barely go to for the same reasons. Many people are keto, like me, BUT Dr. FUNG is more about healthy eating overall, carbs or not, and fasting over anything. There are some religious zealot keto types there who seem to think they know it all as well. I can't stand it, I should just leave the group altogether. lol
That's why this group ends up being home to me, no one here is like that. Well, we did have a die hard keto type at some point a couple of years ago that trashed people who didn't eat keto, but he was one nasty weed out of all the other keto/low carb types present in our OMAD group.1 -
asgentr- Yep, I use a little bit of salt substitute in my broth along w/ some epsom salt and baking soda. Not a lot though.
sandy- Yeah, I'm not looking for a strict group of anything b/c I'm certainly not strict with keto, carnivore or OMAD. The group with the A-hole admin isn't strict either so not sure what crawled up that person's butt last night b/c they're usually nice. Guess they were just looking to start something and I was the one they mistakenly picked.
Also a part of an OMAD group on FB and there are definitely the know-it-alls there too. The majority of the people are really nice though. Just gotta deal with some of the bad when dealing with large groups of people.. especially on social media lol.
In other news... feeling ok still. No more dizzy spells thankfully, but still need to drink more water.
Weight has gone down to 166.2 last time I checked it a few hours ago so yay

The hunger is REAL!!! /cry
Why did I want to do this again??
About to go drink my 2nd cup of broth..... food....... oh food. How I want thee. Let me list off everything I want....
... everything...... I want everything.0
