    Check in for Thursday
    Ate: to much
    Water: not enough
    Exercise: none
    Steps: 3180 steps

I got in a few more steps yesterday. it is raining here today, so house walking it is. i cleaned the kitchen yesterday and i went through the drawers and cabinets and organized them. got rid of bowls with no lids and lids with no bowls. they look nice. now when i am ready to get back to cooking it will be easier. i am bored out of my mind. i knew i would be. it has only been a week. and i want to get up and get stuff done but my body says, "Cyndie you are not ready yet!" so i am going to tell my mind to take a nap. it is still not needed for a while!

@lenka1 i am so glad that you did not quit on us. sometimes a little adjustment is all you need.

@Mrsbell8well i know exactly what you are talking about when you say your tired of it. i remember when i was 3 lbs from goal and i decided enough was enough. well we all know how that turned out. my mind just wasn't there yet. being a food addict as well, i find the hardest part is breaking the old thought patterns. we are all just a continual work in progress.

@GingerPwr i am hoping and praying that you figure out how to live thru what is going on. xo

@hkfleming omgosh girl! that is great good job. how are you doing?

@lennoncpa good job at the loss. tax season is coming to an end. hope you can start to focus more on you!

@Julie8468 nice loss for week one. and there is no quiting. we all know how hare this all is. but the way to be successful is to not give up. try to spend some time now figuring out what you will do when you want to quit. i have created an advantages card that i carry with me where ever i go. on that card i have written down all my reasons why. if you always quit in 2 weeks you need to be prepared for that feeling to come. what will you do differently this time?

@sleepymom5 wow you know? you are my right hand! you did awesome while i was gone. i am soooo glad you are my co captain!! now don't you let that gain side track you. it is only one of many measurements. look at how your attitude has changed. you are getting this. even when people are not dieting the scale goes up and down. don't you let this derail you. make a list of all the credit worthy acts you have done. chin up girl.

I am bummed about my weight but not surprised. I have been up all week for some reason. I will just keep plugging along. I had a very busy day yesterday which included stopping by the new bar to 3 times to check out some new things. One of the times my husband and I were talking and he said we haven't really gone out to dinner or really talked by ourselves since Feb when we went to the shore for polar bear plunge. He was right so we went out last night. I really wanted to say no but when it was presented like that I really couldn't. We did have a really good time. I did well eating, I got a cobb salad but had more than I should have to drink. I don't know why, I didn't pay attention at all. I guess I have to be more mindful of what I am drinking. The three drinks plan usually works but IDK what happened there. Who knows, if I didn't drink, I might have been down a little more in weight. Not too bad of a day today, getting my hair cut and colored this afternoon and continuing to switching my daughter to another room. I have been doing a little each day. Got to get going. Hope everyone has a good day!

@lenka1 I am glad you checked in and all is going well.
@Mrsbell8well Isn't is weird how your shorter run was more challenging than the longer one the day before? I think sometimes it is just our bodies on different days. Maybe some days you're are more hydrated or have more fuel to burn off. No matter what it was, you are doing awesome! It is very impressive how far you have come. Sounds like you have a good plan for your trip too. Love your pedicure and the spring color!
@nstephenson01 Awesome goals for the month! I am glad you started listening to PNP! It really changed my thinking.
@GingerPwr I am sorry for whatever is going on but I am impressed that you have thought things through and sought out the things you do have control over. Still sending positive vibes and hugs to you. Hang in there my friend.
@hkfleming Nice loss! Hope all is well!
@lennoncpa Wtg! A loss and during your busy season! Hope you are doing well!
@Julie8468 Way to start off! Great job!! Awesome job! Maybe set small obtainable goals and build from there. For example, maybe just add a glass of water to what you normally drink and once you are consistent with that add another. You would be surprised how small steps add up. You are doing great!
@cyndiesstuff You know what is funny? I actually know when I am making excuses now. It's weird. I catch myself. This gain was no excuses, I was on track (except for the prosecco last night) so I just am going to keep moving along. In the past, this would have derailed me. Thank you, you are so easy to work with. We are a good team. It is usually you covering for me so I was happy to have a chance to step up! I was also thinking about you being bored, is there anything you always wanted to research or look into? This would be the perfect time to catch up on things that you always wanted to do if you had a chance. Maybe even movies or binge watch something? Glad you are feeling well enough to move about and walk. Each day a little step in the right direction. Hugs!

    steps for the week 41,062
had some good walks this week

I am disappointed but I felt that I ate too much supper a couple days this week, felt too bloated after. Didn't seem like very much food and it was the food I usually eat except for the vegetables as I'm trying to add more of those. Most people tell me I don't eat enough!

@hope002 Awesome! You have been doing well.
@pacsnc6 the scale isn't the only measure of how well you are doing. Keep doing what you are doing and the scale will catch up. Don't let that small gain derail you.

@sleepymom5 sorry for the late reply! i watched a YouTube video and followed along for the stretching routine! It was from the Blogilates channel - I like her workout videos.

I picked up some more Leslie Sansone DVDs from the library last night - I’m excited to do the 4 mile power walk, and the 40 minute Super Burn!

I’m heading out to the mountains for work this afternoon until sunday - a coworker & I are going to manage the social media accounts for a few events happening in Banff this weekend, so I will do my weigh in on Sunday evening when i get home. All of the events are food / drink related, so i will do my best to keep my calories under control! A mountain hike is also on the itinerary, so at least i know i’m guaranteed some exercise!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Daily Check in: Thursday
Food: Logged, over but it was planned (like that matters LOL)
    Water: Plenty
Exercise & Steps: 30 minute dog walk; 10,175 steps

Yesterday was what I would consider a well-rounded day... Spent a couple hours cleaning house, pulled some weeds, took the dogs for a quick walk, listened to my first ever podcast (now I'm hooked on PNP), laundry, and ended my day watching an entire movie from start to finish. Dinner wasn't very nutritious... one of my few guilty pleasures that comes from a box that I only eat when hubby is away. Weight is up a bit today as a result but its a one time naughty meal.

Healthy dinners are planned for the weekend and fridge is cleaned out... off to the grocery store. Wishing everyone a great day!

Happy Friday! Vacation day for me, so I am still in bed drinking coffee and reading everyone’s posts. I am so proud of all of you. We all have our daily challenges, but we keep moving forward. Some really good days, some bad days, but we need to embrace the good days and learn from the bad days. Yesterday I was starving all day again. Oh yeah back to whole 30 for a few days to get it under control. I did have white rice with supper because I was SO hungry!

Vacation day today! Let’s see, I am going to tackle some gardening, finish taxes, sewing curtains, cleaning out closet, post some clothes for sale on Poshmark. Oh and grocery shopping later this afternoon. Busy day!

Oh and Cyndee and Pam, yes I can sew, yes I garden and cook and know how to freeze and can food. But I grew up on a farm and learned SO much. At the time I got annoyed with chores (hated rock picking) but now I realize how amazing my childhood was. Bless my dear mom and dad for everything they taught me. Now my kids didn’t grow up on a farm and don’t know how to do anything really. They just aren’t interested.

    Have a wonderful Friday!

I gave in and went to the doctor yesterday. I have strep throat! At least I know why I’ve felt miserable all week. I already feel a bit better this morning with meds. On a positive note, I think the nurse was shocked/happy to see how much lower my blood pressure and weight were since my last visit 6 months ago.

The absolute best news of the day is that my husband is on his way home from Costa Rica after being there all week for work! It's been a long week in general and looking forward to having him home!

What a busy day! It wasn't supposed to be either. I really feel like I was running but didn't get anything accomplished around the house. Tomorrow I am going to go to a Philly's game and then to the girls night to a murder mystery dinner theater. It is an interactive play. I really do not like the idea of it but my friends wanted to go. We are supposed to make up fake names to use. My friend want us to be Josie and the pussycats. She also wants us to wear kitten ears and cheetah scarves. I would kinda like to blend into the crowd but it sounds like we won't be doing that...It will be interesting to say the least. Hope everyone has a good night!

@twyla77 Thank you for the stretching info. I will check it out. I never thought of renting the videos from the library! What a great idea! Good luck this weekend, hopefully you have a little fun too.
@nstephenson01 Sounds like a good day! Now you have me curious what you had...cereal? cookies? boxowine?...Lol! My mind went right to cereal, another thing I have to avoid because I over eat it. Aren't those podcasts good? I love them!
@carlsoda Nice loss! I Hope you got everything accomplished that you set out to do! So now I see where you got your multi talents! Sounds like an awesome childhood!
@Shirin_K Oh wow! Stept throat! I am glad you went to the doctors! It also must have been nice to see their reactions to your weight loss. I am glad that the hubs will be home soon. Get some rest, you're sick! Hope you feel better soon!

@DananaNanas great job losing but oh no on fever. What bad timing. Hope u feel better fast. Good luck!
@GingerPwr that’s ok. It was fun to think about.
@shirin_k ooooh step throat is so painful. Hope you heal quickly.
@sleepymom5 I love getting work outs in the morning. Good for you. With over 270 days on this plan I have had to navigate many situations. I would still plan on bringing some healthy snacks and fruits to HH. Every where I go I tell people ahead of time that I have health issues and dietary changes. Most people try to accommodate and I’m completely ok if they don’t. I just let them know I will be bringing my own food or enough to share. I understand it’s uncomfortable to live this way at times but it’s more uncomfortable for me to be overweight and unhealthy. If we only “diet” when it’s convenient or there’s no special events or holidays or work events...we will struggle to reach our goals. This is my lifetime commitment! To me to my health. And when all is said and done...nobody really cares. Well that’s not true...I care!!!! Good luck. Where there is a will there is a way. Most people would love to be healthier. We can be great role models for others.
@carlsoda love hearing about your childhood. These are lost arts. Your doing great! Nice loss.
@nstephenson01 you sound like your regrouping Nancy. It’s Springtime and your ready for a fresh start. Great job with the planning!!!
@teyla77 I love the library. What a great idea!

Mom is doing better. Thanks for the prayers.
Exciting news...my daughter is going to NC with me. We are so excited and planning to work out together everyday. Good food too. She has been eating Vegan since the new year. We’re going to a thrift store and getting makeup makeovers. What fun!!!
Last night was so lovely. We had the bedroom window open. I kept smelling something wonderful. It’s the blossoms!!! We have gorgeous pink blossoms scenting the air. So wonderful.
I have probably done yoga 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I did yoga yesterday morning. It was so hard. I had done 5 months every day. And with just a few short weeks off it was like starting over. Yikes. Back to daily yoga for me. I’m so sore this morning. I never get sore anymore. It’s an eye opener.
I have a very long to do list to get ready.
    Have a great weekend everyone!!!

@Mrsbell8well I am glad your Mom is doing better. I am sure that is a relief with you going away. How exciting that your daughter will be going with you! That will make it more enjoyable! Thanks for the travel tips!

@cyndiestuff I hear you! It is boring when your body can’t let you do all the things your mind wants! Maybe a fun distraction would help pass the time? My favourites are (1) surfing the internet and planning a future trip somewhere warm or adventure type (2) looking at future walks or community events I could maybe be active in (3) looking at designs for remodelling projects in the house (4) hanging out at a bookstore or pharmacy and reading ALL the magazines (5) of course shopping online for something that would help me, like a new gym bag, clothes, or to organize my life because it seems all too chaotic sometimes. And get away from the kitchen, hang out at a coffee shop with good wifi?

Of course, I must admit, I almost never go on a trip (unless for work) but do like dreaming up my bucket list. I often don’t sign up for walks or runs, but at least know what I would do if I felt comfortable enough to run in public, and why do they need to take pictures at these events? It takes me years to decide on decor, I searched 2 years for the rug we have in our family room, finally found something I liked online.

Think of your recovery time as an investment in your future healthy self. Knowing that what you are accomplishing even now is much more than many others cannot do.

    Daily Check in: Friday
    Food: Logged, under
    Water: Decent
Exercise & steps: 3 mile walk with the dogs; 14,626 steps

Tried a new recipe last night... Mediterranean Baked Lamb and Root Veggies. It was OK but took way longer to prepare than the recipe indicated. I was overly hungry by the time it was done. I rarely eat lamb so I don't think I'll make it again. Today's food is pre-loggged. Weight was at a new low this morning... 171.4 now to just keep the momentum going. The sun is up but rain is coming this afternoon and its supposed to rain the next three days. Yuck. So gotta run... I'm burning daylight as my husband would say.

LOL @ sleepymom5 no not box wine... that's a daily necessity, not a no no. It was Marie Callendar's mushroom chicken pot pie. I always estimated the calories because the serving size was ridiculously puny but I noticed they now include the calories if you eat all of it... 870 CALORIES!!! What a busy day you have ahead of you... I always wondered about those Murder Mystery dinners.

@carlsoda my husband was raised on a farm also... he's so much handier than I am. He even sews better than me.

@Mrsbell8well I agree with your advice about bringing your own food. Or at least snacks. Being prepared is crucial in this weight loss journey. How fun your daughter is going with you!

@twyla77 I never considered the library. I'll have to check ours out. Sounds like a fun weekend. OK, wait who takes care of your bunny while you're away?

@shirin_K feel better soon. I hear Costa Rica is beautiful.

    Great advice @Julie8468!!

@cyndiesstuff The psychological aspect is very real and challenging because it may linger past the physical pain. Take time for some self care. And listen to your body. You do so much for everyone else. Its time to take care of Cyndie! Hugs lady!

    Happy Saturday!

@Mrsbell8well awesome your daughter is going with you! Have a fun and productive time next week!

@cyndiesstuff - I am sorry you are struggling, but take it one day at a time. Try to find some free games to play online (I like Wordscapes), get some new magazines to look through, plan something you want to do, etc. I had a disk issue 5 years ago and I spent my summer laying on the couch with sciatica, in pain, eating lots of arrowroot cookies (so I could take the pain pills that didn’t work). I did watch a lot of Netflix 😁

@sleepymom5 good job already getting some steps in! That’s how you do it!!!!

    Friday check in
    Food great
    Water great
    Steps 8,000+

Yesterday was a pretty good day, lazed around in the morning and worked on my curtains in the afternoon, cooked up 11 cups of wild rice in the instant pot and froze in 1 cup portions. I love my dairy free chicken wild rice soup 😁 I think I will bring it to work this week! Didn’t get near as much done as I wanted but oh well, there are other days and other weekends!

Today we are going into the cities and finish up grocery shopping and hit our consignment shop, they have 25% off this weekend 😁 Sunday daughter and new baby are coming for lunch and spend the afternoon with us. So weekend is already filled up! I do need to get in steps and yoga - body feels achy and creaky!

@carlsoda : Too funny ! Wordscapes is my favourite!! I often need something to calm my mind, I use wordscapes during the day, and listen to mediation recordings on YouTube (Michael Sealey) at night to clear my mind to sleep.
