Sorry, I missed my last two weigh ins, been doing pretty bad with everything and now I'm up even more...Gonna start counting calories again and getting back down to the 70's so I can continue to feel better and lose this weight! So disappointed in myself for being back at almost 200lbs! NOT where I wanna be! I hope to have a better July and lose some pounds! Going to the beach in August, be nice to get back on track before then and lose some pounds.5 -
@phoebe112476 the HALT idea is great when I work it - but I forget sometimes! The one I mess up all the time is not letting myself get too hungry - and then I do something stupid like going shopping!! When my younger son was still living in the house he loved when I went shopping hungry because I came home with the most unusual selection of lots of food!!
"Angry" - well that one I have to practice in the car all the time!! Do other drivers make you angry? I usually have to talk myself through that and sometimes I just need to put everything in perspective and say "how important is that in the big picture of my life?". Luckily for me, not many other things make me angry - or I've learned just to not let them bother me!!
"Lonely" I have learned to deal with by filling my life with activities and friends. I go to the gym, I take line dancing lessons, I go on trips with friends whenever they ask (I used to turn down a lot of invitations - not sure why!!!), and I just try to fill my time with people and activities.
"Tired" is an ongoing challenge for me because I have Narcolepsy. It causes daytime sleepiness and disturbed nighttime sleep. I guess over the years I have learned to live with less sleep, but I don't deny myself a nap whenever I have the time available and can take one!5 -
Hi All - I'm alive, but it's crazy at work and by the time I get home exhausted. We are launching a new product and lots of glitches with EDI and not getting answers on shipping label requirements etc. Give me a day or two to get things under control and I'll be back to help support you all!6

My average steps are up over 8000 these past few weeks, so I am really happy about that! I am going to physio tomorrow and will take a break the rest of the summer. I am motoring through all of my administrative clean up before I take my time off. It is really boring, but has to be done as I can get audited. Am listening to music & podcasts to get through it.

@lennoncpa I had to laugh at your angry description. My wife is the nicest calmest person imaginable. When we were first dating I thought she was such a mild person. Then we took a road trip to her mom's house 2 1/2 hours away. OMG!!!...my wife turned into a monster behind the wheel. I could not believe it was the same person. LOL...we have had many discussions about this. Especially if I am in the car to please watch out for those 4 letter words and other angry actions. I had no idea. It's definitely a trigger for some people.
@cyndiesstuff glad your session went well. How fun to do a rock garden. You were most certainly missed. glad you are back.

I usually do cleansing fasts several times a year. Now that I am in between trainings I think it is time for me to bring out my juicer. I am thinking of a one week cleanse before we go on vacation mid July. That should also be a slam dunk for these last few pounds. Trying to find the best time in my calendar. Maybe start it on Friday.
We decided to take a pause on our weekly focus. This week is a "rest" focus. It was supposed to be "social" but we both kind of froze. We are not the most social individuals. We decided we would both go out to lunch with a friend. How sad...I can't think of a single person I would like to lunch with unless it is family. Now if I could schedule a lunch date with my team members here I would do it in a heart beat.
Our mortgage officer stopped by our branch and invited us to play dominoes and hang out with them at the local pool hall. That could be fun. We can dip our toes in the "social" scene. maybe.
@sleepymom5 you are so right on all the many ways we can define success. I am not generally a social person nor do I do Facebook as a rule...so for me it was kind of mind boggling in the beginning of my journey here why so many people would post week after week or year after year without achieving their goals. But I follow what I need to do to reach my target and allow others to do what they need to do to move through their journey. All I know is that it has worked for me and I am grateful.
As I have said many times it is all about my health. I am so gleeful when I look in the mirror and see a fit size 6 woman looking back at me. I am strong and I can run up hills. I can touch my toes and do crow poses. I can run 6 miles without stopping. But mostly, I can eat amazing delicious food without being sick. That is such a true blessing for a foodie like me. Mom was scolded by the nurses yesterday that her potassium levels are high again. They can cause her heart to stop instantly. Mom has been shopping like crazy. I have been on her to start wearing those cute clothes for herself and to look good for my dad while they are both still alive. I see my mom contemplating on the sadness of modifying or giving up the foods she loves so much. I realize that it is hard to break that perception. If you all could see me eat you would be blown away. I eat massive amounts of the most delicious nutritious foods. I see others around me eating and drinking the things that meant so much to me before. But I honestly don't miss any of it. And I feel great! My mom saw me trying on clothes and said "wow, you don't have a belly". Lol...no I do not. Nor do I have a butt for that matter. But I have breasts! My chiro was so amazed at how much I have lost. She said I needed to put some meat on my bones. haha...when does anyone ever tell us things like that? Yes lots of changes.
One last little note...I was writing a cookbook 5 years ago. It was a story with each recipe. I was reading it out loud to Skylynn last night. The recipe was raspberry chocolate fudge cakes for Valentines day. Skylynn was wearing her pink apron and had a face full of raspberry and chocolate flecks. At one point she gleefully looked up at me (she was 4 years old back then) and said "Grandma you are my bestfriend...am I yours"? Ahhhh my heart just melted all over again.3 -
@sleepymom5 ohhh no... not a leak already. boy, being a business owner is tough. always have to be on!! and professional cleaners sound like the answer, then you can come to my house and do spring cleaning! lol. Please? lol. I know all the engine and mechanical stuff because I grew up on a farm and was a tom boy. I lived in a neighborhood full of boys, so I tried my best to fit it. I became a very tough little girl! the neighbor boys thought I was a boy for a long time until I matured, if you know what I mean. lol and as a nurse you should probably no better than to look up the possibilities. don't worry until you have too and even then, if it won't change things why bother?

@amsandos yes. straight away get back to it. how are you doing? sometimes it's good to spend some time and reanalyze your plan. especially since you are so close to goal.

@Mrsbell8well I have totally fallen asleep with needles in my back. they play that music and you have a warm bed. and have the infuser running. mmmmm. maybe I should schedule one too!! sounds like some lovely self care. and children certainly can make your heart sing. your lucky to have such a beautiful relationship with your granddaughter. now come over and help me build this rock garden. you would love my neighbor. she is feisty!!

First hike in over a month. Felt good to be out again. Tried for an artsy photo of wildflowers and the Sapphire Mountains but I was in a rush.
Food wise... I’m trying to incorporate Dr. Greger’s daily dozen, its a work in progress and... making two nights dinners vegetarian. Made butternut squash and black bean enchiladas again last night... really loving them! Having some trouble again with MFP so am behind on posts. Wishing everyone well!

Back at the shore...I am pooped! Lol! I shopped, cleaned the bathrooms and our bedroom. I did a quick vacuum and dusting but didn't spend too much time. Everyone got to their doctor's appointments, even Daisy Lol! MRI is over so now just waiting to see what is the next step. Tomorrow hope to get a lot of cleaning done. Our new washer and dryer comes between 8:30 to 12:30 so hopefully get some exercise in after that depending on the heat. Hope everyone has a good night.

@cyndiestuff You must have a green thumb! It is so cool you can just transplant a tree like that! The rock garden sounds like a fun project with your neighbor too. I am glad that the counseling went well too. And the leak was at our house, not at the business. Ugh! Always something!

@CassieGetsFit2013 I was worried that you left us! I am glad you are back and weighed in. I think going back to keeping track of your food would be a good place to start. Have you been able to get any exercise in? I know things weren't going very well in the past month or so. I hope things are better. Hugs!

Exercise moved equipment (again). got the planter out!! maintenance done. now lets pray for the farmers! no more rain for a while, lets get the crops planted.

not what i planned on doing yesterday but its the life of a farmers wife. at work, i took that assessment (lol behavioral multiple choice crap), the email from home office said it was the last step. not sure exactly what that means, waiting to hear if i know how to behave!! then after work, came home and went to the farm. moved equipment and got the planters ready to roll. we are going to plant bill's (Jim's cousin with cancer) fields starting tonight. a couple are still way to wet but 2/3s are ready. got the spraying done yesterday. the sprayer broke down and it was in the back field. long hike but got the quad and rolled with that. back and forth to fetch tools. didn't eat dinner till late but was glad i prepped on monday. we had cabbage rolls, a huge salad, and fresh sprouted grain bread. today, i will be working on the rock garden with my neighbor while Jim is planting. busy time of year. please pray for the farmers in our country. many in our state and in others are suffering because of the extremely wet spring. ohhh yeah, i ate on track yesterday. followed my plan. felt pretty good. yay me!!

I was out of my normal routine yesterday with going home, I forgot to bring my vitamins and thought it was no big deal. For some reason, that made me forget to take my ibuprofen as I take them together. I didn't think of it until I was in pain and having trouble moving around in the afternoon. It was bad the rest of the night, even after taking it. I have to stay on top of the pain and not let it get that bad. Today I am feeling better thank goodness. At least I know the I really do need to take the ibuprofen. I don't know when I will hear about the MRI. Hopefully today. It is a beautiful morning. I wish I could go ride my bike but unfortunately have a washer/dryer I need to wait for. If it gets too hot out, I will go after dinner. I love these longer days! Have a great day everyone!

@cyndiesstuff I am just tired thinking about your day yesterday! Lol! Prepping and planning make such a difference! I never thought how the rain would make it difficult to plant but it makes total sense. Extra prayers for the farmers. All the stuff I take for granted.... @sleepymom5 I hope your new washer and drier are exactly what you want! you are definitely right about staying in front of the pain. pain is not only physical but mental too. if it gets to bad it is hard to stop the mental anguish which continues the physical pain. vicious cycle that is best stop before it starts to circle.
@Mrsbell8well oooooohhhh girl. cyndie is doing the happy dance all around her office this morning 2 more pounds to goal! your going to make it. have you started making your plan for maintenance? it probably won't look a whole lot different. remember the mental aspect of maintenance. you have been building this new Angelina for a while now. what does she look like in maintenance? how does she act?

Exercise - got in my 10,000 steps somehow plus about 10 minutes of yoga
Even though yesterday was crazy (only break I got was a 20 minute walk around the lake), we got things under control and questions answered on case labelling, pallet labelling etc. Our customer (very large retailer) has a huge manual and it's difficult to navigate. But, we're on track for our first shipment to go out on Friday and will hit the store shelves mid-July! So excited and this is an amazing product - so tasty and pretty darn healthy too!
@cyndiesstuff - good luck with the planting. The farm fields here in Minnesota are just about planted now and the corn will definitely not be knee high by the 4th of july. Maybe ankle high. I hope we have a long fall so they can get the crops off. I hope you don't have anymore breakdowns!
@sleepymom5 - hope the MRI results come back soon and then you can start healing.

@Mrsbell8well that is so funny about your wife and the car! That is why I brought up the driving in the car as being an "angry" trigger - it brings out the worst in people!!! I drive a car and have an issue with pickup trucks who feel like they own the road. I can't tell you how many times I look in my rear view mirror and a pickup truck is practically on my bumper! Anyways, last week I was in a great mood on my way to a Bob Seger concert having a wonderful night when I stopped to make a left turn and some pickup truck literally ended up in my trunk! It was a young man and he might have been texting or something - but he ended up totaling my car and made me an hour late for the concert! I was grateful that no one was hurt, so I think that kept me from getting too angry. Plus the young man really did feel bad about it. I was kind of dazed and he immediately knew what to do and called the police - so I have a feeling he has done that before!! After the police arrived I started my car to see if it was still driveable and it was - so I said to my friend "I'm glad it drives because I don't know how we would have gotten to the Bob Seger Concert". The young man said - "if your car doesn't drive - I will take you to the concert!" So it was hard to be angry at him - but I'm still dealing with that whole situation.8

So Wyfe and I had "the talk" following my last doctor's appt. She was very supportive and suggested changing our eating habits and that we start eating in the dining room to prevent mindless eating followed by endless sitting, and that we get up from the table and immediately take a walk. Sounded like a plan.
Due to circumstances we could not put the plan in play until yesterday. (Doesn't matter why, but we were traveling to a distant family funeral, etc.) So here was yesterday, staring us in the face.
It started well. Food choices were fine during the day. Got home from the office about 7, we had dinner at 8 PM in the dining room. But we misjudged the portions a bit -- Wyfe wanted to sit for just a few minutes before walking to make sure she didn't end up away from the house with stomach issues. So we sat down at about 8:30 "just for 10 or 15 minutes," and the next thing either of us knew it was 2 AM. We had fallen asleep sitting up and woke up foggy and dry. And we still had to wash dishes, LOL.
Today is another day! Date with the scale on Friday.7 -

Had my last physio appointment until August. It went well. Ankle is acting up a bit but leg is taped and feeling good after some acupuncture. We started talking about a race goakpl for next year which was nice considering I had to drop out of everything this year. I am very pleased with my progress and happy then I’m going to be able to do a lot of walking for my July vacation.2 -
Yes, Pam and Cyndie, I am still here. I felt so bad for missing my last weigh in & have been doing bad with my intake, I have actually been to the gym some with my Clinician, but lately not so much, I hope we start going again cause last time I got on the treadmill and the bike machine fkr the first time and kind of liked it. Plus they were starting to recognize me there and one lady even said she was glad to have me back and gave me a high five. That sort of felt nice. So it definitely feels like a no judge zone, everyone minds their own business or is just nice to each other! Anyway, I've been doing a DBT group and that's been going okay, learning a lot, but need to put more to practice. I'll be able to weigh in this Sunday, but once Monday hits I'm pretty sure I'm going to my Counselor for the last time, (Switching to a new Counselor, sad to leave my old one, but everyone figures I need more growth with the new one) my Psych is making me go to Rehab afterwards, so I should be in there about a week or so. 😔5

Spent the day in Richmond at a lunch for leaders with the COO. 4 hours in the car round trip. Difficult on my body. I was able to request a vegan lunch. Mine was so much prettier and healthier than anyone else’s. Came home with headache took a nap. Had a headache since the Sunday hike but it’s finally gone.
Planning to run at some point today.

was a long boring day yesterday. i didn't do the best but i am learning new habits. i have to go to the secretary of state and social security administration this morning and then go to work after that. i am hoping if i get to the secretary of state first thing there won't be a line. but in michigan, you never know. so i plan for a line and then hope for the best. my weight was up a half pound but that was over two weeks and i was on my honey moon. no excuses! the upward trend stops today. i have to catch back up to @Mrsbell8well lol
@carlsoda ohhh i love it when the day just works out perfectly! take a mental picture of it. really feel what it feels like. commit that feeling to memory. and then pull it back up and feel it every time you do positive things to create the new you. positive reinforcement works on adults too!! and yes... heres to hoping and praying we have a long mild fall.
@GingerPwr yes! maintains are good. still check in in july, and remember this is not a diet it is a life style. i cant wait to watch you thru this next phase of your journey. make sure to take measurements and pictures before, so you can show what a difference weight training makes.
@lennoncpa yea and you work in a rather busy part of town with farm fields on the out skirts. farmers seem to always be in a hurry.
@eyesopennow i think that is a very good plan. don't give up on it. did you do it yesterday? and as for portions, my suggestion is to put less on your plate than you want, then eat in the dining room. when you finish your plate, give it 5 minutes and if your still hungry go back and get a little more. this is a whole lot easier than trying to leave food on your plate when your full. keep working it. you need to find the will to make this mandatory. let us know how you are doing.

@CassieGetsFit2013 ohhh cassie sweety! i am glad you went to the gym. that is a very big step for you. be proud of that. and gyms can be full of very supportive people. ok so when you go to rehab make sure to let us know so we can excuse you from your weigh in. cassie i know you know how to do this, it is just making yourself do it. we are all here cheering you on. you have never given up. and that says a lot about who you are!! so i know, you will do this, in cassie time!!

Ugh the scale didn’t budge, but I did the same things that worked the 3 weeks before! I’m happy with how the month turned out overall though.
The past week was busy and included kids’ baseball/golf/dance classes, cleaning and organizing, prepping for my husband’s family visit next week (which I’m stressed out about even though they are great), a kid with an ear infection, and a weekend trip away to see family and a zoo. I stuck to my calorie goal the whole week – I’m now at day 24 in a row. I’m sorry I haven’t been commenting on here. I had good intentions this week, but just haven’t been on long enough.

Well stayed the same. Sorry haven't been saying anything. Had a family emergency, been busy with appointments and getting the Summer started at work. I did get a few workouts in this week. Not as many as I would like. They offered me the director position at work but they can't start the pay until September because we don't have a lot of kids at work this summer. So they offered me my 2 weeks vacation paid (which normally would not be, we don't have any benefits) and to leave early and have days off when we are extremely low with pay. I figured I'm the one making out in the deal for the next 8 weeks so it's fine by me. So hopefully I will get more workouts done. I want to try and get a few pounds off before my vacation in August. But I seem to go in the opposite direction.5

Good day yesterday. Stayed on track with food, water and steps. Got a bike ride in and walked a lot with Daisy but didn't count it, it was so broken up. The poor ol girl is sick. The past two nights she woke me up a few times too. We did see the vet when we were home so hopefully this is over soon. Very productive around the house too. Today we get spikes put in the rafters(not sure what it is called) so pigeons don't nest there. It sounds a little mean but they are loud and poop a lot so we needed to do something. I also hope to finish up cleaning today too. I am so tired with getting up with Daisy. I hope it doesn't slow me down. I am still waiting to hear back about my MRI results. I am also hoping I will be able to do PT at the shore. I am not sure how insurance works since I am in a different state. The orthopedic practice I go to has an office down here and they do PT. It would be perfect if I can work it out.
@carlsoda It is awesome that your only break was 20 min and you chose to walk around the lake! Great job! I am glad that you got everything sorted out and ready to go at work. Sounds like that was challenging. Great job also staying on plan with all the stress!
@GingerPwr Maintaining isn't unusual, especially being so close to your goal. I like the strength training idea for July. I hope you still check in with us even though you will be on the cheer squad.
@lennoncpa I am glad you were ok with the accident. I hope you get that all sorted out soon. Hope you were able to enjoy the concert at least.
@eyesopennow I did Lol when I read that, I could see myself doing the same thing. Give yourself credit, you made a plan and you did well with food choices through the day. You're right, today is another day. You can do this!
@Cafelelia What great progress you have made! It must be exciting to actually be planning races again. I hope the ankle isn't anything to worry about. Is it just something that has to be strengthened?
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am glad you checked in and let us know what is going on. I know there is a lot going on but it sounds like it is a good path that you are on. Hang in there and work hard. You deserve a wonderful life and you can have it! So if I understand correctly, you will weigh in this Sunday and then should we do an excused weigh in for the next?
@Mrsbell8well Just curious if you think the headaches could be linked with dehydration? I know when I have car trips planned I can't drink as much as I usually do? I was thinking between the hike and the trip maybe that could be a possibility.

@Shirin_K Sometimes that happens when you lose. You lost almost 4 lbs this month. You had a great month. Of course we love when you check in but we understand that life gets busy. Staying on plan and exercising is the important thing! Sounds like you have a lot going on! Hang in there!
@ljdanny Wow! Things have been crazy for you! Congratulations on your promotion! That is awesome! I agree with you, I would take the paid vacation time and extra time off until the pay kicks in. Let's make July our month!
