I meant to post this earlier!
Also-HAPPY CANADA DAY
I meant to post that earlier too...3 -
Check in for Monday July 1:
Logged: yes, over but not by much
Water: 2L at least! Very hot out today, had water with lots of ice and slices of lime
Steps and exercise: not much, at 6,345 steps. Lounged by the pool, had family over and did laundry. Had a very nice Canada day!
@Mrsbell8well I love your post! I am going to re-write it in my journal! I love the policy of three: sleep, nutrition and exercise. I also get 100% the HALT thing, mainly get stuck in the “A” angry/anxiety/fear zone. The there is @cyndiesstuff statement which is so simple and obvious it made me laugh out loud! “When I feel like someone else is driving, it’s because they are!” I have a choice in how I react to the world around me, and need to remember that!
Green challenge for the month = 4lbs please!4 -
Monday's weigh in still due
@jedaschultz
Tuesday's weigh in

@Julie8468 I am actually listen to a podcast about that but I am having trouble with it sinking in. Your thoughts actually drive your feelings. Not someone else's actions. It is your thought about the action that your feelings comes from. So basically what you said, it is how we react. I am working on that too but like I said, I am having a hard time with it sometimes. Lol!2

Daily log in for: Monday July 1
Logged: yes
Water: almost at 8!
Exercise: went to the gym this morning and did some YouTube butt videos at home afterwards.
Steps: 23,881
@sleepymom5 i did have the day off today, but i did a bit of work early this morning just to get it out of the way / off my mind. (it feels less like work when I’m doing it in pajamas on my couch lol!)
@Mrsbell8well great post, and you are so right - our journeys are so much more than just carrots, cottage cheese & celery sticks!
@cyndiesstuff challenge accepted - i WILL lose these 4lbs that have been hanging around the last few months! thank you for all of your support and wise words always!3 -
Show Me the Green Challenge
My goal is to lose 4 pounds this month.
My plan is to get back into a regular gym routine, and to stay hydrated!!2 -
Mrsbell8well wrote: »Wow @amsandos you look spectacular!!!! I love your photos.
@twyla77 I thought you had hit your goal in this last year. Let's both hit our goals together this month.
I was thinking the other day that most of us have been right where I am today. At their goal or pretty darn close only to gain it all back and then some. We all talk about the necessity of making life style changes not just going on a diet.
@julie8467 your recent post really got me thinking. This life of ours and our weight loss journey isn't about carrot sticks, celery and cottage cheese. It's about sisters in high drama, moms in nursing homes, old folks moving in with us, family members in tragic accidents, bodies with torn glute muscles, cheating spouses, sons with mental disorders, husbands that travel for a living, spouses that don't have the same fitness/health goals that we do, jobs that are horribly demanding, neighbors that bug us, days upon days of rain and gardens that struggle to grow, funerals, weddings, birthdays, holidays and everything else in between. What are we going to do about it??? How are we going to navigate this life of ours??? Who understands that it isn't how many calories I consume...it's about my everyday life and my everyday choices.
Today I choose me! I have a policy that I put 3 things as a priority above everything else that goes on in my life. I sleep, I take time to eat nutritious foods, and I exercise. These 3 focus areas when they are nurtured, help me to navigate anything and everything else that comes my way. I have spent the last 358 days caring about me and it shows.
Who understands??? My team members understand. You have been here in my shoes. You either have lived what I am going through or have lived life enough to completely understand. It has made all the difference in the world to me. I owe my bikini body to each and everyone of you on this team that has been here for me through all my many life challenges and successes. Thank you!!!

I did it you guys - 65mins of hot yoga. I had to pray myself through it, but I did it! If my 300lbs+ self can handle the heat, then you can do anything! Portion control, tough workouts, etc.
Tomorrow is another day! You got this!
@sleepymom5 @gottagetthisdown5 -
Thank you for reposting @carlsoda @Mrsbell8well dropped some serious wisdom there and I nearly missed it. I am going to make time to hang with my fitness sisters.
Hello @McKay85 go you!
Daily check in
Food over - but still in the weight loss zone and logged
water - no idea but today I am going to make it my business to know
exercise. I have managed to sunburn myself quite badly. I have only ever been sun burnt twice before in the South of France and Mauritius. The idea of being sun burnt in the UK whilst wearing sun cream is ludicrous. However I did miss some strips on my back. Anyway back to the point I didn't want the chlorine to aggravate the burn and the house was a tip so I choice to stay at home and tidy up.
I have my plan for today and have journalled. I am also reinstating my work place sugar ban. There is cake everywhere at the moment it is ridiculous. If I eat it - it will make me ill. It is not my responsibility to get rid of it - unless it is into the dustbin.6 -
Check in for Monday:
Food - logged and over
Water - didn't log it properly and i think it wasn't enough
Exercise - 15 min walk (not enough) + 10 min chair exercises
Steps - 5200
I wanted to dress up for that Birthday party. As a result I liked the way I looked but I ran late. So I had to drive there instead of taking the bus and my walking plan was ruined. I tried some new foods at the party. Didn't have much but there wasn't anything low-calorie. I also had half a piece of the cake. The pieces were small, yet I decided to share mine with hubby. When we got back to the car, it turned out that in a rush I had left one of the windows open. Luckily there wasn't anything missing but that made me very stressed. So as a late night snack I had some beer, but stopped myself at about 100 ml. I also managed to sneak in the chair exercises (before the beer) I only did the Back Fix and the Office Workout once and realized I'm too exhausted for more.
It wasn't my best day but I think, that considering the circumstances, I didn't do very bad. Ended with 200 cal over my goal
My plan for today:
log food and stay on track
stay hydrated
60 min walk (30 already done)
20-30 min running
10 strength training
10 min stretching7 -
cyndiesstuff wrote: »@Moarrein you have been a great addition to our team. your momentum to get this done is truly praise worthy. and just the fact of knowing that you have to translate everything on this thread is a testament to your commitment. do the daily planning thing! I love it. how did you do on the chair exercises?
Thanks for asking about the chair exercises! I had totally forgotten about them until I read your comment. The ones I did were interesting and I did them on the edge of my bed. And I intend to try them all. Since I currently work from home I have the opportunity of doing any body-weight and yoga exercises. Yet I hope to memorize some of the chair ones to use them in case I'm not at home. For example when I'm waiting for my boy to finish swimming2 -

I usually check in now but I need to get moving this morning. I have a 3 hour window in the afternoon that I am waiting to get screens so I am going to get on here then when I can spend time and not be rushed. Hoping to get exercise in early as it is going to be a hot one today! Have a great day everyone!3
-
Day 1 of Whole30 was a success - only 29 more days (LOL!!) I'd actually like to make this a forever lifestyle with occasional joy foods added in without it taking control of my brain!
Today's 24 hour plan is written down:
12,000+ steps
More yoga - focus this month is quads, hamstrings and calves - they are beyond tight all the time.
Food all on plan!
@McKay85 - good job completing Hot Yoga!! I could never do it. I love heat but if it's too intense I feel like fainting. I much prefer my air conditioned yoga
@cyndiesstuff - more chair yoga for me today. It's great to do some seated twists to keep the back limber. You also have a great plan for today! Do you know when you'll be starting your new job?
Have a wonderful day everyone! Make today count!!2 -
@amsandos wowoo!! you look fierce in those pics. thanks for sharing. what a great accomplishment! good job on that self care! look out dustbin, here comes some cake!! lol. "It's not for you!!" you got this.
@Mrsbell8well i love love love your post. you speak such lovely words and true too. and today, i choose me as well. this is all about me. i am no longer gonna wait for someone else. i am going to do this! and you girl are my inspiration!! keep that s*** up! you look amazing!!
@Barbb1557 well hello barb!! i am so glad you are here with us. and your goals for july are a great place to start. make one of your goals to come here every day as well. you get out of this what you put into it. we are all here to support and when needed give some tough love. so welcome!
@sleepymom5 ohhh girl! you have become a great co-captain! i am glad we are all in this together.
@Julie8468 you are right. you are in charge of your feelings. you get to choose. first there is a fact ( that you cannot change) and then you have a feeling about that fact (which you have total control over) and then that feeling causes an action. the only thing we can change is our feelings. that is where our control is at. the facts will always remain the same!!
@twyla77 lol a butt video! get those glutes moving girl!! we are going to do this! lets get jazzy in July!
@jedaschultz ohhh man. that is just a small gain. what will you do this week to change the momentum? what is your next best step?
@McKay85 yayayayay you. that is wonderful. 65 minutes of hot yoga. you are a rock star. make sure to drink lots of water!! that is a heck of a workout!! how did it make you feel emotionally when you were done? Accomplished? strong willed? put it into words and right it down. put it on the frig for the world to see. be super proud that you are doing what it takes to create the new Mikaila!! look at her go! nice NSV
@Moarrein sometimes it is important to get "all dolled up". makes a lady feel good. why did it make you stressed to leave the window open. the fact was you left the window open, you cant change that, how you felt about it was totally in your control, the action your feelings produced was to have some beer. so if you would have changed your feelings. like maybe, say, "at least it didn't rain!" and be happy, instead of stressed. and then instead of stress drinking you may have happy danced!! our feelings are powerful words we say to ourselves and if they are not serving us, why believe them?
@carlsoda good job on your first day of the whole 30! love your 24 hour plan. you keep working it sister!! and smile, it looks good on you. and i am not sure when i will start my new job yet. waiting for the drug screen to come back and then home office will call me and we will make a plan.

Make a commitment this week to focus on the things you’re doing well, NOT the errors in judgement you may make. Doing so will help you feel better and more motivated on a daily basis – which will make it easier to keep moving forward.
So I challenge you to start everyday with giving yourself credit for 5 things you did well yesterday. Before you get out of bed say it out loud or say it to yourself what things you did yesterday that were positive.
For Example:
I drank my water
I followed my 24 hour plan
I helped a neighbor
I got in more than 10k steps
I made my husband his favorite dinner5 -
I saw that my weight was incorrect on the spreadsheet for this week. My current weight is 204.8, 205.2 was last week’s weight.
Thanks

Working with my boss today and tomorrow then vacation!!! Hurrah. More later. Did an early morning run 59 degrees. Sweet!4

I got up early 2 days in a row. So far have my food logged today with what I've eaten today. I will be going to Zumba soon. I meal prepped last night still have to get my meal ready for tomorrow. Didn't drink as much water as I should. It's really hot here today. Part of me just wants to get in the pool because I did workout this morning but I really do love Zumba. Maybe when I get home I will go for a quick swim.5

Hi All!
Today's goal includes:
complete 23min HIIT workout at home
eat a big, delicious salad for dinner
get my water in because I'm boxing tomorrow at 6am!!
stretch out tight legs from yesterday's yoga
I might not checkin the next few days. We are getting the keys to our new house tomorrow and moving in begins on the 5th. I think it's safe to say I'll be getting a good sweat in the next 4-5 days because of the move.
Good luck with your goals today team!6 -
Daily check in for Monday
Food logged and under
Water 96 oz
Exercise Bike, kayak and walk 1/2 hr each
Steps 8436
Great day yesterday! I think I pushed it today. Daisy was actually in the mood to walk so we walked 1/2 hour. I rode to the farmers market which was about 15 min, then to the grocery store and then home from there with groceries. Then I painted some trim outside, cleaned out the garage and hung some hooks for our beach chairs and now...I can't move. I still have to go shopping for 4th of July and wanted to go later but I guess that will depend how I feel when MK gets back from Philly with my car. Sitting on ice now. Started to eat junk after dinner but I did stop myself and grabbed my computer to see what you all were up to. I am glad I put a stop to it, I am also glad that I had some calories to spare. I really wanted to kayak today too but that isn't happening...
@jedaschultz Thanks for pointing that out! Sorry about that! Nice loss!!
@McKay85 So you survived hot yoga but did you like it? Sounds like you have a great plan for today. Good luck with the move, I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
@amsandos I can relate to the sunburn, good idea not to make it worse in the chlorine. I would think a rest day would be in order after your race. Stay away from that cake Girl! Lol!
@Moarrein I don't think that was a bad day at all! It sounds like you watched what you ate and you did manage to squeeze in some exercise. Give yourself some credit for that. Sounds like you have a good plan made for today too!
@cyndiesstuff You make it easy to be a co capt.! Looks like you have another good day planned! You are doing fabulous! I was doing that with my friend when we went to GA. We did 5 things we did that we were proud of and 5 things we were thankful for.
@Carlsoda I just see whole 30 and think how hard it is and you would like it to be basically your way of eating. You are awesome! There is no reason for you not to tweek it to be something you can do forever. Great plan for today too!
@Mrsbell8well Great job getting out there for a run before the heat!
@ljdanny You really have been planning and doing great! Hope you had time for a swim. It has been hot here too.5 -
Well everybody, I had my Counselor session yesterday and my Psych called my Clinician and told her to bring me into Rehab, but I chose not to go in. Today is the day that I really want to OD on pills, but I have been with my Mom, or Clinician all day. Nobody will let me be alone todsy, I have a great support system and have let people help me. The real test is when I'm alone tonight, but I want to be strong and behave for everybody that has helped me and for myself. I do some pet sitting and dog walking & today got offered a new doggy job to do this week. Then another job that I've done for a few years now needs me too so I will have some pet jobs to keep me busy this week and I'm going to fight my urge to OD and if it gets too hard I will speak up and go into Rehab.10
-
Monday check in... sorry, late hopefully have more time tomorrow
Food: Ok. pre-logged most but guessing that extra glass of wine probably put me over
Water: Great!
Exercise: Yoga class, 6676 steps
For this month I've set a weekly step goal instead of my usual daily goal. So some days will be low like yesterday.
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow!4 -
@CassieGetsFit14 I think if your counselor thinks you need to go to rehab and if you are having urges to OD you should go to go to rehab. I hope you are with someone tonight. I am sure you can call someone now and go. You have a great support system, why don't you listen to them and get help. Sending Hugs and Prayers.
@nstephenson01 I like the idea of a weekly goal. You do such long hikes I am sure that it will all even out. Have a good night!4 -

@CassieGetsFit14 I agree with @sleepymom5 -> Rehab is good! There is much strength in asking for help, make sure you are not alone, and tell them how you are feeling. You are a strong woman, and can do this! Rehab is there as a tool for you to use. If you struggle, go. This is for you!!3

Check in for July 2nd:
Food logged: yes, over (supper was too late and way over calories expected - what I though was ground turkey ended up being ground pork, good but not when comparing calories!)
Water: good, about 1.5 L
Exercise and steps: low again, worked until 6pm, then home, made dinner, ate late, etc.. etc..
Working through “the facts” happening today, trying to control emotions again this evening and how I feel about the “facts”. Going to bed early to remove temptation to eat it all away..3 -
Finally seem to have fixed the scale issue (after new batteries). A few days home and some unpacking but now off to stay with family for the 4th of July holiday. Looking forward to it - but also coming home and being able to stay more than a few days.
I have been extra hungry today. Not sure why. Ate two snacks at bedtime because stomach was grumbling so much even after ten minutes. Hopefully will be back to normal appetite tomorrow.3
