Happy Monday!
I'm behind on my nagging, so I'll start with that
Great start to the Monday weigh-ins from @zlauerMom - well done!
Remaining Monday Mavens:
@Juliemargaretkim
@reflectionofme
@tdrjustus3
Now. No more nagging for the moment.
Progress on the GREEN JULY challenge:
All the participants pledged 92.5 pounds to lose this month. There are 80.8 remaining to lose, which means we took off 11.7 pounds in the first week. YES! But we have four weeks to go (counting this one) so that means we have to pick up the pace a bit! Or revise some of those pledges. We need to lose just over 20 pounds a week until the end of July, and we are 21 people who have pledged. That's only one pound per week each if we average it out - so let's go! We can do this. I have a good feeling about it.
As to things that give the SUPER WOW I DID THIS even though I almost didn't make it. Lots of my concert performances have been like that, but by concert time, it is not usually with the feeling I'm not going to make it even when it is really hard. The practice sessions beforehand, mind you - that is where all the hard slogging comes in. Some rehearsals I come out of there soaking wet, shaking my head, wondering if we'll ever master it. But we usually do! Probably the most exhilarating exercise moments have been hiking and reaching the peak (AT LAST) and having spectacular views, or making it at the end of a long day to somewhere I can just dump everything on the ground and jump into some cold water. Back in the day when I was braver and crazier, I had a horse who took me everywhere we wanted to go. We did some cross country jumping courses, and he could gallop and jump like a fool. We had some great moments, but it was a lot of work to get him to that point and to get myself strong and supple enough to do it together. Now I ride a stallion (the world's politest, but still Mr. On. Guard. ) and we have some pretty great moments, but both of us are more into quieter rides than I used to do, so it isn't as big an effort any more.
All this to say, I need more of that flat out effort these days. I do hard workouts that get me going and give that feeling of YAY at the end, but it is time for some more exciting or interesting things. Going kayaking tomorrow (hopefully) - 10 km on a gorgeous river. That might do it! Shoulders, are you ready??4 -

Just finished 15 minutes on my Gazelle. I will eventually increase the time! Today I need to finish painting my daughters room after church so that will be some exercise too! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
Way to go!!! Tomorrow 16 minutes. I would help you paint if I was there. 😊🖌
Thanks my favorite Aunt! The girls switched rooms and Marie’s now room really needed to be painted and it’s huge! I got half of it done and now the other half which didn’t happen today. Took a Sunday afternoon nap! But I have all week!
Please please please - come to my house and paint. There are rooms that have been waiting for me to paint them for over 20 years. It just isn't my thing - I need you!!!
I don’t mind painting a bit! It’s just getting started. 😜 The end result always makes me feel good!
Getting started is where I am completely stuck at all times. I freak out over picking the colours. I get little samples, put on a tiny splotch and decide it's horrible. I never go back. Or I never even get to that stage. I think I need to hire someone to do this for me!1 -

Gotta be very careful of my time today through Wednesday (bussing to a off-site course that is located in the building where I USED to work for over a decade!)
Building on the above exchange on feeling pumped when you get through something (in this case a run) despite feeling like you were about to DIE just before you crossed the metaphorical finish line for the day's session ....
What has given YOU that kind of rush and top-of-the-world feeling? It can be exercise related, or finally holding that diploma in your hand, or all that job searching effort culminating in signing a Letter of Offer .... think wide and let us applaud you!
Once upon a time we were making barely enough money to cover expenses and deeply in debt. We scrimped and saved and struggled for over a year, and managed to pay for a 2 week tour of Japan, a place we'd both always dreamed of going.
The travel was, all told, 24 hours long and I barely slept on the plane, so when we got there I was a zombie, but as we stood in Osaka airport and realized we were there, for real, we grabbed hands and ran around all over the place giggling like hyperactive children.
That was a wild rush of excitement.5 -
Wow! That'll teach me to oversleep til nearly 11 am! Y'all have been busy posting stuff! I've enjoyed reading them. I have 9 days (or less) until I'm back to work, so I really better be practicing getting back into my normal sleeping routine. As much as I love being off from work for summer breaks, the unstructured time can really throw me off (or I allow it to).
Anyway, I'll post later about what I feel "pumped" about once I've accomplished it. I've got lots on my to-do list today that I want to get through. Plus I'm still waiting to hear about any one of the 3 jobs I applied for me. Now that 4th of July weekend is over, hopefully, today is the day. We'll see.4 -
@fourathomej - you are doing just fine. Even if your posting is minimal for chit chat, you are doing brilliantly with steps and weigh-ins! Do not worry. We just want to hear about everything after things calm down1

So I may not be around much tomorrow. I'm going kayaking on the Missiquoi river - 15 km of beautiful countryside. I thought it was only 10 km but it is longer! I did this last year as well and it is a fantastic trip. My veggie gardens got lots of extra attention today, so they can handle a day without me! As can you, I'm sure
Tuesday has NO weigh-ins, and everyone is doing just fine. Have a good one! Think of me wearing down my old shoulders and not caring one bit...8 -

Sounds like a great adventure. Have fun taking in the beauty. Share a photo if you can.2 -
Really didn't want to go play tennis tonight, but I made myself. It was a lot of fun and a great workout. The last game ended with multiple deuces in the pouring rain. Wew!! 🎾5

Good Morning everyone. No run this morning but I did complete a 30 minute brisk walk. I won’t have time for my stepper as I have to get ready for my post op appointment with my surgeon. I will attempt the stepper this evening after my evening walk if I’m not too tired. The scale is still being good to me which is getting my motivation up there. Nothing like seeing results to get you really going. Wishing you all a wonderful day ❤️💪🏻7

Finished painting my daughters room! One thing off my to do list. Today we are taking our new pup to the vet for her second visit. She showed up at the house a few weeks ago and I guess has chosen us as her family. 😁 She’s a sweet girl. We already have two dogs, a labradoodle and a golden doodle, not sure what we were thinking adding a third!
I’m going to get on my Gazelle and exercise. I figure if I post it here then I have to do it....I don’t want to be a liar! 😜
Everyone have a fantastic day!5 -

I have a hard time with colors too. My daughter picked hers and it’s a light blue. Very pretty! Have several people look at your colors and see what the majority vote is! Good luck!2 -
Super happy today!! Just got home from my post op appointment and I’ve been given the full clear for workouts and in a weeks time I can actually take my kids to the pool!! Next appointment is end of August to get things rolling for my surgery in October!! Also....a peak at today’s lunch. Beef 🥩 with a Potatoes 🥔 and veggies 🥒🍆over the fire grill and strawberries 🍓 and cream for dessert. ❤️

Need to come clean, this weekend I had a party for my sons engagement. It started on Saturday and I did not keep my self accountable for the last 3 days. I am back 100% today and I am hoping I didn't mess myself up too bad with a large gain. I was so tried after the party that I just didn't care what I was eating. We had so many leftovers and desserts where in a large quantity. I made my husband bring them to work today to get them out of the house and I am going to freeze whatever is left. Today I feel I can say sick about how I behaved with my choices but I am back. I will try to eat as clean as I can and I am hoping for only a small gain on Saturday. I came to far to let this get to me. I still have 10 pounds to go before I can have my knee surgery and I'm not going to let this get in the way of meeting my goals.9

On the feeling of "pumped after working through i'll NEVER be able to do this! ... my last round of Second Language qualifications (up for renewal by mid-next-year.
I felt PROUDER (more proud?) about my mid-range Grammar pass - which is the tougher of the two on-line tests for me - than the higher-than-required score on the Reading Comprehension.5 -
Still working on getting back to where I started before the holidays. I need to get back into an exercise routine. It's so hard after a holiday weekend and poor eating choices. But I'm not giving up. If it were easy, everyone could do it.3

@jugar - Everything will get better after August 10th.
Right now we are getting ready for a 2 week camping trip...on top of work revisions and normal work. Taking care of mom...EXHAUSTING!!!

@mari_moulin So glad all went well at your post op appointment. You have to have another surgery in October? I'm sorry you're going through so much. In the meantime, enjoy that wonderful lunch of yours!0 -
I bought bacon seasoning. Its supposed to make anything taste like bacon, and its vegetarian.
I'm not sure if it tastes like bacon exactly, but it is yummy and does improve the heck out of these steamed green beans that are, frankly, not very tasty otherwise.5 -

Yes I’m currently in the skin removal phase. I did my tummy 11 weeks ago and I have arms and breasts in October.1
