Great news, Athijade!0

Well it was Valentine’s Day so there was chocolate and ice cream. Tomorrow will be better eating?2

Yesterday was rough. Got some really bad news and it sent my anxiety off. Had multiple panic attacks and was in a bad headspace all day. I did not even eat anything until dinner and couldn't stomach much even at that point. So ended up with less then 800 calories. At this point I know that the bad stuff is out of my hands and there is nothing I can do about it right now, so I am trying to let it go. Easier said then done.
On the up side, I got my test results back and things are looking good. A1C and blood glucose are all in the normal range. Everything else is normal too except for my LDL being way too high and my overall cholesterol being just barely over (like 4 points lol). HDL and Triglycerides are both good.
Saturday is my 41st birthday and tomorrow I am going up to where I grew up (about an hour north from where I am now) to get pizza at one of my favorite places and then do some shopping. It should hopefully be a good day. Gonna try not to let the bad ruin my bday weekend.2 -
Fantastic news on the health front, Athijade.
Be careful today - so few calories yesterday might be a recipe for way too many today. Hope that bad stuff settles soon.2 -
Hello there young-spud! Have an awesome birthday!!!2

Have a very happy birthday Athijade 🎂❣️2

Happy Birthday, Athijade!!!!!! Have a great day. You and your body deserve all the best you can give yourselves.
(that is my most recent brainway. From this day forward I will revere my my body and try to give it everything it needs to keep me healthy. In mind and soul. I think if we do that, our bodies will allow us some birthday treats )3 -
Well, I am going to have to start watching calories as while I was focused on everything else, bad habits crept in. I suppose that as I did the bad habits for 49 years and the good habits for 2, it's understandable that the bad ones are easier to fall into.
But I know what to do. Log my food and stay under 1350 and the pounds will come right back off. Plus as the weather warms Sergeant Pickles and I can start working on walking again. (Getting on a leash does not mean put your head down and take off on a scent.) Our yard is now fenced, and apart from needing to put a coyote roller at a couple spots where he has the ability to get a run up to leap the fence, he can go out freely and so this may help with the pent-up energy and walking. I certainly hope so.
We're looking at getting him a girlfriend, cause he wants to play with other dogs. We have a really pretty pit mix girl that we'll go meet next weekend. If she works out, her name will be Java.4 -
We’ve been missing you Alexandra! I can sympathize with the struggle over years of bad habits. And I have so many more years of bad habits than you. Sounds like you have a grip on it though and I’m sure you can get back.
Sergeant Pickles seems like a whole exercise program himself. It’ll be an adventure to see how he reacts to a new woman in his life.
Please stay with us! I’ve missed hearing about your cooking adventures.3 -
Sergeant Pickles is a lot happier now that we have his yard fenced and he has freedom from the long line. 5 foot coated chain link. It looks very nice. I did have to tell him this morning that it would be better if he saved his opinion on the issue he was talking about until the sun was up. (grin)
If I keep myself busy doing stuff it's easier not to nibble. So I'm going to try to stay busy doing stuff today.3 -
HEELLLOOOO, Alexandra! Good to read your words. I'm working on getting back into the groove. It took a few tries but I think I am there now. You will find your way too (though it might take a few practice runs ). Hope you have good busy day!2

It was a glorious 80 degree day. The flowering trees are budding and spring flowers are blooming. I opened all the windows to enjoy our brief spring.

It was a nice day here too! I got all the laundry done and folded and put away, in between letting the good Sergeant in and out and in and out. Also got the signs for the gates hung up (Dog in yard, please close gate) on the front gates. There's one on either side of the house, because I kept getting annoyed about having to go back around the house before. So I added an extra gate. There's a back gate to the utility throughway that I am going to hang a sign on to tell anyone there to go to the front.
We're now starting to think about what to do to the yard, and that's very exciting. Planning some climbing roses for some of the fences. I love roses.4 -
You GO girl!0

Looks so nice, Yooly. Can't wait to open the windows!
Climbing roses sound beautiful, Alexandra.2 -
Went to the dentist yesterday. That may not seem like much, but I had a lot of bad experiences as a child with the dentist due to having so many teeth pulled and I still have a lot of anxiety from it. So the fact I made the appointment and went without anyone around to "force" me to do so is huge.
It had been at least 10 years since I have seen a dentist.
I have 2 small cavities that need to be filled (and I have already made the appointment for next month), but over all not bad. They were actually surprised how good my teeth looked considering how long it had been.1 -
Good for you, Athijade. Glad things were okayish.
I too have dentist issues...been more than ten years for me - I'm not sure how long but not since I lived in this house which is 11 years It does make me take very good care of my teeth though! And somehow those old mercury fillings from ??? 41 years ago two of them !!! are still holding out! Built to last for sure1 -
I'm not making a comment about anyone I know who may be multiple years overdue for appointments! 🤔2
-
Our family has a history of tooth problems so I’m a regular twice a year dental visits. Despite crowns and root canals, I still own all my teeth at 75! Money well spent on maintenance.3

Your are BRAVE, Yooly! I see those DRILL DEMONS and I run for the hills1

Beats having dentures in your old age! Dentistry has gotten much more gentle too. I love my dentist! Great guy who does his best to be painless. No bravery required.
In my youth I recall it was common for anyone over 50 to have clunky dentures. Both my mother and mother-in-law lost teeth. Father-in-law too. And then they had the remaining good teeth pulled so they could have a complete pearly set of perfect dentures. Of course they ever adjusted and when their mouths and gums aged the plastic teeth were unbearable.
So put on your big girl pants and see the dentist 🦷.1 -
I will. Eventually2

I feel like crud today. Super stuffed up because the weather keeps changing and my sinuses can't keep up. Also been dealing with anxiety. Had a phone call involving the really stressful thing I spoke about before and the whole right side of my face started twitching. That's a new stress/anxiety symptom for me.
Also really struggling with getting back on plan. Seriously thinking of taking 2 maintenance days (today and tomorrow) and then cutting again Sunday. Tomorrow I am meeting some old high school friends for brunch so that already makes things a bit harder.2 -
Hold on, Athijade! You can do this. Though anxiety doesn't make it easy. Nor does going out. and brunch is truly a danger zone if those complex carb babies call your name. But, you can also go with delicious proteins and fruit! That will leave you feeling fantastic - in body and mind.3
-
ha! the eye / face twitchy thing! I've heard of that! And spot it from time to time! There's no denying it @Athijade that brain hamsters have to all be pulling in fairly similar directions in order to successfully manage food control... so getting them in line comes first! And there is nothing wrong with maintenance. It's the ABOVE maintenance days that seem to cause the issues!3
-
So erase my plans for tomorrow (and meal plans for tonight). I am sick. I wasn't feeling great this morning but just thought I was run down. As the day has gone on though... ugh. It's mostly fatigue, sinuses, and my stomach.
As such, I have canceled my brunch plans and am going to have something else for dinner. Moving dinner isn't a huge deal because I had an extra day on my meal plan next week that I was struggling to fill.3 -
Hope you’re feeling better soon Athijade!0
