Got all the cleaning done yesterday so that is one thing I don't have to worry about today. I even organized the freezer this morning! What is up with me? Lol
Need to gather the documents to get my IL license on Tuesday and finish my meal plan and grocery list for shopping tomorrow. But I needed to get out of the house and move. I just ate breakfast at a diner near my place. Now heading to TJ Maxx and some other stores. Gonna also stop at the Walmart Neighborhood Market.
Was going to go downtown but today they are doing all the St. Patrick's Day celebrations so decided against it. I just don't want to deal with the crazy drinkers.2 -
Happy shopping!0

Early for St. Patrick's Day celebrations!!!???
Hope you find some fun things, Athijade.
I made the mistake of promising three different clients things by Monday morning. That is going to keep me occupied this weekend.2 -

My day is happy (not) sharing (not) with friendly (not) loved by me (not) cell phone provider!
Hi: why is my bill twice what I expect? You have international charges.
Why do I have international charges? Your app failed and you dialed an international number.
Why did I dial an international number when I have an international call block? Because you don't have one!
Why don't I have one when I had one when I signed up for my phone and the kiosk lady and I verified it was there? You didn't.
Then how come there were no international charges for 3 months but they only appear 4 days ago? Because your app failed.
Do we really believe that the app failed for the first time in three months exactly four days ago and it kept failing every day since then until I called you and then we put a block on and now it will stop failing? Yes, sounds like the most reasonable explanation. It obviously could not be something WE did. It's your app.
How did my app change my settings in my account?
I think I will stop now! Yes, they were cheap enough to offer $30 out of $70 off (accepted while asking to escallate), crazy talk from supervisor who claimed that video calls on mobile data would be charged as international calls at which point i indicated that if this was the actual company policy it was time to close the account, $5 per month for six months by Loyalty (so coming up to $60 out of $70) which I declined and opened a complaint with the government regulator both for the charge, the failed block and the wrong information. *kitten* that noise! https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/for-consumers/1 -
Sounds like the kind of thing that could make a thin man pull his tousled hair right from his scalp.

Wow - I’m impressed you got to speak to a real person! Lately it’s been a recording letting me know I’m a valued customer and press 2 for English or shout out in two words or less what I’m calling about.
Then I’m on hold forever only to be informed to try again later when they’re less busy. Or leave my number and they’ll call whenever.
Doesn’t matter if it’s the clinic, power company, cable dudes ..... no customer support. Hubby tried to get customer support for new computer today. Ended up speaking to some guy with heavy accent obviously in a call room (Far East? Malaysia?)where he could barely be heard above the noise.
Hope you get some justice PAV!2 -
Six hours .... Chat #1, chat #2, call, hang up of call not by me, call #2, this we can do, check if can do more, kick up to supervisor, kick to loyalty, bye bye to loyalty, call back from loyalty, bye bye to loyalty, compose and file complaint online. Waste of effing energy. We have you by the short and curlies since you're three months in on a twenty four month agreement, what do we care?💩2

What's wrong with computer?0
-
I don't know? What is wrong with which computer?????0
-
Hope you can get some help from the government! Can you still do your international calls without breaking the bank? A few providers here will buy you out of an extended contract if you transfer to them. But obviously you’ve got to check their prices and what you’re getting.
Nothing is wrong with the new computer. Hubby is just transferring lots of files and photos. The old computer has ten years of stuff that needs weeding through.

So much for my reading comprehension - I had to go back to read through texts to find the computer context
This staffing problem has an issue with my biopsy too. What should have taken less than a week took four weeks and a irate surgeon because there was a staff shortage in the pathology lab. I didn't really mind because the limbo was better than the reality I knew that was coming!3 -
These type of shortages are not on my acceptable list but are getting to be too long term and real1

From what I keep reading - COVID is still running rampant (in our city at least) and it people off sick is still at least partially to blame.1
-
Don’t know about covid in your area - could be illness. But for us, it’s the lack of workers that left for other jobs. Some just left the workforce altogether or found work from home jobs. Son still only goes into his office two days a week. Everyone got used to and prefers working from home. No dressing up, no commute, less distractions.
Those in the medical profession were especially stressed and overworked. My clinic and doctors are all shorthanded. I used to be able to schedule doctor appointments a week or two in advance- now it’s months.
I hope your upcoming surgery can be scheduled soon and all goes well in your recovery!
Is there anyway I can help? Other than providing idle chatter?2 -
Staffing issues everywhere for many reasons!
My surgery is next Tuesday. They moved that along quickly. That one I would have been happy to wait a few years for (yes I know that would not be wise...but)1 -
And....Yooly - your idle chatter is a pretty fine commodity in this world. I'm so glad you are here.2
-
hmmmm..... sort of glad they're motoring along... I know-not what you want to hear...0
-
I know, PAV, me too. But doesn't mean I like it2

Chicago does all the official stuff the Saturday before when the day falls on a weekday. So the river dying, the parades, and the "official" bar crawls. There will still be people out this weekend as well I am sure. The whole city and the neighborhoods all get in on it. It's a huge thing here.
And pretty puppies! I miss having dogs, but my life just does not work well for them. Too needy for me haha. Cats are perfect for where I am in life.2 -
Booooooooo cat 🐈😺
Yeah dog 🐶🐕

Hope you are not going to find lots of cats spraying your entranceway tonight, PAV2

Just an out of control, bottomless pit day. No food was safe from me. No good reason or trigger.... what’s done is done.
Tomorrow it’s back to being smarter.2 -
Oh, Yooly - those days really are maddening. Glad you are putting it behind you. Tomorrow offers such a fine opportunity to eat well!1

I went to FINALLY get my Drivers License updated yesterday. All that went well and I was in and out of the office in less then 30 minutes. I was shocked! I seriously expected a couple of hours based on my experiences in other states. I still have to go do my registration and title, but that will most likely be NEXT weekend (not this upcoming one).
So when I was on the bus heading downtown, I wasn't feeling great but I brushed it off as being really tired cause I had slept badly and was up earlier then normal to get to the office before it opened. Did my stuff, grabbed some McDonald's breakfast sandwiches, and took the train home. On the train I started to feel really bad. Small cough started, I was still super fatigued, my body hurt... the usual. I finally got home and got on to work. As the day went on I felt worse and worse. Took an hour nap at lunch and woke up with a fever.
Needless to say, the planned dinner did not happen because getting up off the daybed was rough.
Still don't feel great. Sinuses, congestion, headache, body aches, fatigue, cough... it's all there. Just trying to get as much work done as I can but doubt I will make a full day. I do plan to make my planned dinner of the chicken teriyaki bowl. It should be easy enough. I'll have the leftovers tomorrow for lunch. That way I don't waste the stuff for the greek salmon bowl.

Hope this passes quickly, Athijade. Sounds like more than a cold if you have a fever.

Feel better Athijade! Spring time sinuses are the worst. We had our blast of pollen a few weeks ago. Hopefully it’s that rather than some respiratory thing. Rest and drink lots of fluids!3
