So thinking it was the chronic fatigue on Friday. Been under a lot of stress and I have not been resting like I should. When that happens I get sick... in order to force me to rest. I slept so much Friday and 12ish hours that night and felt totally normal Saturday. So I got to go to brunch!
Today I have done a bunch of walking but am now resting on the daybed watching TV.3 -
Glad you made it to the brunch!2
-
Woohoo, Athijade2

We are under a winter storm watch for tomorrow into early Saturday. Luckily I have no plans to go anywhere until Sunday, and even that is my normal grocery shopping so nothing crazy. I have a lot of cleaning to do around the house, especially the floors and kitchen. Gonna try and get that started today.
Spoke to someone about the bad stressful thing yesterday and feeling a bit better about it. Though I did have a panic attack yesterday about it. It was almost like my brain went "oh, that is not that bad... though now we have to release ALL the stress and anxiety that has built up!" It was not fun. And it led to a binge. So today I feel exhausted and a bit sick to my stomach.2 -
It's weird, isn't it, in the end how much power them hamsters have in "painting" what is taking place! Hopefully they'll be a bit calmer today for you! Simple food, not too little, not too much, maybe?2

Guess what Canada-only item popped up at the specialty store! Ketchup potato chips actually from Canada. Hubby was a happy camper and I confess to tasting a few. Reminded me of our pre-covid trip to Vancouver.

I've never heard of that brand, Yooly! Glad your hubby is happy
What PAV said, Athijade he is a smart cookie.3 -
New brand but looking good! I love how you love ketchup chips and feel secretly guilty that I have access to them and don't eat them because I prefer jalapeno flavoured ones!🤷♂️2

He would have preferred Herrs or Lays ketchup chips but we’ll take what we can get. Jalapeño, chili lime, sriracha- that is always available.
Another “good news moment” our bluebonnets are in bloom!

Beautiful, Yooly!!!!!1

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
So it's official. in spite of the (less than 10lbs now) of (re)gain since 2020, all blood-work and tests are... middle of the *kitten* normal range. including a1c and fasting sugar results and all that stuff. And blood pressures, livers, kidneys, electrolytes yada yada. She said "as normal as can be", could ALMOST tell you to have a nice day see ya in two years.
BUT: the PAV *is* as I started seriously suspecting a couple of weeks back.... broken!
Currently waiting to hear how long I will have to wait to see a surgeon who can put me on her waitlist to get the hernia that started visiting about a month ago fixed. Watchful waiting is not my cup of tea. And my activity level is already affected.
Also not impressed by NOT getting sent to get pictures of my insides taken even though I'm over 50 and never had any. I mean it's nice not to not have to do any preps and all that... but aren't you supposed to get a baseline video shoot as your prize for making it into your 50's? I'm almost at the other end of the dang decade... yet NO FREE VIDEO!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!2 -
I hate to think that PAV is broke 😭
I have two male friends - one who just turned 50 one who just turned 60 - and they both thought they were going to go get those inside pictures taken of their behind and they both just got to do poop smears instead. Both were disappointed.2 -
Heh, Yooly!!!
What is this about you sending us your low and us here in Southern Ontario getting 7 to 10 inches of snow tomorrow because of it????
You post flower pictures and then you send snow storms??? 😂2 -
Sorry about the hernia thing PAV. Get older and things just don’t want to work right? Sometimes I feel like staying well is like patching an old car. Lots of squeaks, groans and breakdowns being constantly repaired to keep it going a little longer. The biggest adjustment is losing the ability to be really active without causing further damage. And now you have to sacrifice some more daily calories to maintain weight loss.
I’ve had the colonoscopy video done three times now over 15 years cause I’m on the five year plan due to abnormal findings. It’s fairly routine for anyone over 50 in the US. The prep is downright hideous but necessary I guess. You do feel mighty cleansed when it’s over! Doc said I won’t need another because the risks outweigh the benefits now.
The snow storms came from California and the Rockies - not Texas. I take no blame! Our thunderstorms forecast for tonight moved slightly north and were a non-event. I don’t think many of the wounded trees in Austin would have survived.1 -
Sorry, Yooly. The Weather Network is blaming Texas.

I too have had the lovely video - due to a history of gut issues. The prep has gotten easier - and I have had a general anaesthetic (I guess it is easier for doctor? Usually they are looking down/then up (hopefully in that order ) so there has been no discomfort. But. General anaesthetic is better to avoid if you can. And if you are not having any symptoms and this is just a safety check - it is pretty cool that they can do that with a simple mail in smear
Sounds like you are going to get some general anaesthetic fun this year already! Can't have too much fun2 -
The poop smear is all fine and dandy and ready to mail; but, i don't think it is anywhere NEARLY as responsive--I mean to me it sounds like almost too late. But I guess the statistics are there.
Not sure WHO will be having the most fun! I think I'm about to help the province donate an extra percentage of inflation adjustment to a bunch of doctors "on my behalf"1 -
Never tried a colonoscopy commando. Always had the general anesthetic which lasts only a short time and leaves me feeling like I’ve had the best sleep of my life. My other surgeries were longer and more anesthesia- groggy and nauseous afterward.
All a part of the tune up process. Adjust and move on I guess....2 -
Ah...sorry...I wasn't suggesting avoiding general anaesthetic during a colonscopy - just in general! I too felt like I had the very best sleep. Of that I would be jealous, PAV. And - you could go and tell them some stories about weird stuff happening in your nether region...then they might feel compelled to "take a peak?"1
-
I guess. But I have this strange reluctance to game the system even when sometimes I think it is gaming me. there's a couple of things I raised that the NP seemed to ignore/bypass? There's positives too to be had from her.1

I think that is my plan through next week. Starting to see some negative mental health things connected to counting calories again. Most likely due to the increased stress and anxiety I had been dealing with in general.
So for now, I am gonna try and keep up with staying a bit more active and just watch portions for food. At least through next week. Then I will try again.
So hard to balance the health of the WHOLE body and mind.3 -
Balance! It’s a tightrope act. 🤗. Do what you can without stressing. Losing weight and maintenance is a head game for sure.3
-
You do what you need to do to keep on doing, Athijade. The weightloss groove will be here for you when you return. With any luck you will face it with more energy and determination after a break. Secret is to try your darndest not to gain while you are taking a break because that will bring its own supply of mental health anguish.3

You shaved, Yooly! You look so bright and sunshiney and ready for summer today
Yesterday, I went hunting for a photo I remember having with a "mustache" but couldn't find it. Instead I put up my standard online profile image - not a picture of me per se but a picture of a selfportrait I painted awhile ago. Probably time to do a new one but I kinda like this one - didn't have to spend so much time painting in the crepe skin around my eyes!1 -
Got to change things up. One day a mustache, next day who knows. Love your self portrait Laurie ❣️2

Seems I may have been fighting a bug for a few days and today it has taken me out. I did go grab a breakfast sandwich and hot chocolate earlier, but since then I have only gotten out of the blankets on the day bed to go to the bathroom. Laying here watching TV. Just so tired and achy today. Plus I woke up to a headache and stuffy nose.
Doubt I will move much today. Luckily dinner will be super simple.1 -
Hope you feel better soon Athijade!2
-
Swift recoveries towards Chicago!
Texas and Steeltown are both looking very good!
The wet coast is... overcast and rainy!1 -
Hope you can wrap yourself up all weekend and feel good soon, Athijade!
The weather here today was magical - pure spring wonder. All the snow from last nights thunder storm was melting in the sun and warm temperatures. Just the sound of trickling water everywhere brought me back to childhood bliss!
The sounds of trickling water coming from melting snow and ice is not the same as that from rain I don't think, PAV.
How is your weather, Yooly?3 -
I was able to get out a bit yesterday to do some grocery shopping but otherwise I stayed wrapped in blankets again. I feel... okay... today. Not great, but I am up and able to get some work done. Hoping I feel even better tomorrow since I have to go into the office. Luckily I am only going in Tuesday and Thursday as of now.
