    Happy New Year everyone!

I am couch bound today. Still not feeling great so glad I canceled my plans for today. Taking it easy and trying to drink water. It's hard because I have no energy to get up and refill my water cup. So doing the best I can. Sadly cats are not good at helping with that sort of thing though they are great for warming snuggles.

Since I am staying snuggled up on the sofa, I am doing a handful of small things like making meals plans and grocery lists, working on some resolutions, and stuff like that. If I get a burst of energy (unlikely lol) I have one last shelf in the pantry I did not organize. The rest look great! Along with the freezer and fridge. I now know what I have to work with. Gonna try and work through some of my back stock, then will plan a trip to Costco for a few things. I like having chicken, steak, and fish on hand. Plus some pantry items like olive oil and cashews and household items like kleenex and toilet paper.

@Bella_Figura glad you found your phone! I would be lost without mine.

Glad you found your phone, Bella!….I went to the store a couple of days ago and when I got in the car, I saw my purse still in my grocery cart!…I also hung my bag on the recycle bin in the garage a few weeks ago when I was carrying things into the house….later that night I told my son in law I would roll the bin to the road because I needed to walk a little….I saw my purse hanging there on the side….had my son in law taken the bin out, my bag with all of my Christmas cash, and everything else would have been gone!…maybe I am finally losing my mind….

Methinks it’s less losing your mind, more gaining a hundred stresses and distractions, Connie.

Holly *kittens* Bella... THAT would have been a scare especially without a signal. I mean scare scare scared to think about it scare! GLAD you found it.

And the hamsters in the story behaved exactly like me mine

    Happy 2022 one and all!

I do not quite see the path forward that will lead there as of right now... but I do hope things resolve in a way that will mark 2022 as an improvement over 2021!

Better (or even better) health, more happiness, and may everything you should be wishing for come true for you in 2022!

Nice walk, Bella. Must have had your heart rate right up there - and burned a lot of extra calories :)

    Glad you found everything!

Love the hamster news! And I agree, Connie, with Bella's comment about picking up stresses and distractions more than losing your mind. (I hope :D )

I'm feeling okay. Not great, but okay. Better then I was so I will take any improvement. Still super fatigued, mild cough, mild sore throat, chest congestion, and clogged sinuses. Trying to keep my eyes open is a struggle!

Today is my first day back at work since just before Christmas. I took PTO last week to have a nice long break (so of course I ended up sick lol). Just trying to remember how to do my job! Good news though... we are getting raises! Like honest to god cost of living increases and not just performance based. So at least I had that happy news this morning. Even if I am still half asleep trying to do reports.

    Okay... back to work.

Took son to doctor today for covid test. He has had 3 vaccines but is having concerning symptoms. So testing to be sure. There’s a backlog of tests so we won’t know for a few days. Obviously hubby and I have been exposed but feel okay.
I just hate that we’re all still dealing with this after two years and vaccination. Surely things have to get better!

Quite the day, Alexandra. Glad the presurgery went well! Re "physical therapy" - is that regarding breast reduction? Never heard of that one!

Yooly - it is feeling a bit overwhelming to still be dealing with the pandemic after so many people are double vaccinated....I know I was thinking that at this stage it would be easing up tremendously - instead we have just entered back into a new lockdown. :(

Not like having a piece of paper saying I was positive was going to make a difference in what I was doing at that moment.

Waiting on test results for son. He wouldn’t have bothered but is working in-person at office now. So he can’t go to work and risk exposing others and his employer wants testing. His symptoms are viral cold-like, fatigue etc.
If hubby and I start showing symptoms, we’ll just self treat and stay home until quarantine period is over. We’re staying home now in case we’re asymptomatic.
I think eventually we’ll all be exposed and have covid perhaps without symptoms.

Today was a good day…johns blood sugar was down to 197…. Still too high but dropping….testing it twice a day….we had good food today and feel satisfied….feeling myself getting back at it….sun. I had a lot of anxiety and ate late at night to self medicate but I am feeling better about everything….happy I have so much support fro this group!
  • A decent day. I'm feeling the stress from yesterday, but I got Girlfriend downtown to have her labs drawn and get her booster while she was there. That means now the only one needing boosted is Boyfriend. We had an appointment set up but he was having a bad day and couldn't leave the house, so we couldn't keep it. Maybe next week.

I'll be spending the weekend precooking so that the food plan can proceed uninterrupted while I am recovering from surgery.

Alexandra, I do hope and trust that things will go well for you. Glad to hear everyone is getting boosted too (I get to wait for an "invitation").

Connie, so much, but you're a trouper!

@Yoolypr not sure I can say I'm glad you've got a cold?!?!?!?! :hushed: In any case I do hope all of you recover swiftly and with minimal impact.

@Athijade ... have you told people at work that your doctor has suggested self-quarantine? Being sick and stressed is not the greatest combination. On the good news front, I KNOW you're going to manage to get everything done and done well, even if it is a tiny bit late!

Woo hoo!….2 good days in a row….dropped a couple of pounds this morning….johns blood sugar is high but holding steady….I hope the doctor can keep it going down with meds and John can control his sugar intake…I am feeling a little less stress as he is feeling somewhat better…I haven’t been sleeping very good but that is pretty much expected right now….I will do a 12 hour crash pretty soon….I feel so much better when I feel in control of what I am eating….

Thank you for the kind words PAV... I needed them! I got it done and sent out yesterday. Was it perfect? No, but when you can't even trust the data or the document, there is no way for it to be so. But I did my best and that is what matters I think.

And my job does not know I needed to self quarantine. Since I work from home 4 days out of 5, I didn't tell them as by the time my in office day comes around (tomorrow) I will have been quarantined for more then a week. I can tell that the stress is impacting my recovery though. My fatigue has gotten pretty bad again as stress + illness + chronic fatigue are not a good combo. I'll make it though. Today I have to get one of the billings completed (super easy to do) and finish my employees appraisal. Those are my must do items before I leave at 12:30 to meet with my realtor.

@Yoolypr Glad that it seems to only be a cold or something and not anything more serious. Though is sucks being sick no matter WHAT the reason!

Connie and Laurie you are both such positive inspirations! Thank you for being you!

Managed to catch whatever viral crud son had. He’s doing much better. I feel like crap! Hope I recover as quickly as he did. Isolating in case son’s negative test was wrong. Who knows anymore?

@Yoolypr grrrrr on your behalf and I hope you bounce back ASAP and tout suite too!

Sitting in the proverbial $100 Cab given the snow decided not to risk friends dropping me off at airport and have to drive back afterwards.

All flights out except mine were cancelled. Sooooo guaranteed empty seats I'm sure!!!!

Safe, spacious travels to you, PAV!

Hope you are past the "viral crud" ( :D ) soon, Yooly. I'm laughing at your term - not that your sick.

Hope you got everything done okay again today, @Athijade - and thank you - I hadn't even come anywhere near considering myself a positive inspiration in a very long time! Nice words to hear - maybe I will rise to the occasion.

@conniewilkins56 You are very supportive and inspiring also. I love to read your posts.

My days aren't very exciting. :( I work part-time, 2-3 days a week. If I'm not at work then I'm at home watching TV, reading or homeschooling my youngest son. I get my walking in for the day by walking in place or around my living room while watching TV. If I'm at work then I sit at a desk and wait for people to come to my office. While I'm waiting, I walk laps around my desk sometimes just so I don't fall alseep. I also watch TV, read or even sometimes teach my son while at work. I guess I'm a creature of habit, because my days never seem to change much.

I do have a hair appointment and doctors appointment scheduled for next week, but that's the only change to my schedule. I also might have to reschedule the hair appt because I might have to work instead. My doctors appointment is an important one to me though. In October my A1c was 6.4 and the doctor wanted to put me on Metformin. I asked him to give me time to get it down on my own and I have the follow up appointment on Tuesday. I'm hoping it's gone down enough that I don't have to be on medicine.

Americanbabydoll - don’t know what the weather is like in your area but perhaps getting outside to walk might be a change of pace?
Before my orthopedic woes, I walked outside almost every day. Just walking in the neighborhood was interesting. New wreath on someone’s door, flowers, frost on roofs, traffic, and seeing other neighbors walking too. I tried to walk 45-60 minutes but sometimes it was much less. It does clear your head even walking slowly. I’m hoping to get back out there soon 🚶🏼‍♀️
