    Check in for Tuesday
    Food: on plan
    Water: 50 oz
    Exercise: 50 minute walk
    Steps: 10682

phew, it sure is harder to get my 10k steps in. but i am doing it!! look at me go. i still needed about 2000 steps last night after dinner. so mack and i went for a stroll to the garden. i picked the veggies we had, poor zucchini is looking bad. i think we may have a racoon coming in at night for a feast. i am finding bites out of the ripe tomatoes. set up a live trap for the creature last night. hopefully he likes peanut butter and crackers better than tomatoes. i even put a water dish in there. cause you know how i am, you have to drink your water!!

@phoebe112476 maintains are good. how are you doing on changing or getting rid of that old bad snacking habit?

@carlsoda lol. the oatmeal got ya!! i was getting up out of my office chair and did the same thing. yup yoga sure does help, i did lots of stretches on my yoga ball. and my back feels better too. good job on the self care.

@holmesp603 i am glad you are back but not sure you are on the right team.... did you post on the wrong one?

@sleepymom5 i am soooo glad your back. we have all missed you. now get back to work girl. you have work to do on that new pam project!! yes it has been a whirl wind. but i ended july with a maintain and i am on track for 4 lb loss this month. this new job is exactly what i needed. and no worries about the challenge. i got up sunday morning and realized it was our turn for the challenge. i just went back in my archives and pulled up an oldie but goodie. positive self talk never gets old!!

@Barbb1557 ohhhh yeah a good sweat is a great feeling. when you work out hard your bodies thank you is sweat. did the traineer give you a print out of those exercises for shin splints? i have them too. i find stretching before and after a work out really helps. and as for getting in my steps, i pace. i pace a lot. around the house, around the table, around the office. if a task can be done pacing i do it. you would be suprised at how many extra steps you get when your pacing.

@lennoncpa this whole year is flying by!!!! kids go back to school soon

@Mrsbell8well first of all, you can't get a good tomato sandwich just any time so enjoy them while they are in season. but what you really have to ask yourself is why did you over eat? use the thought model.

Circumstance: tomatoes, corn, and cukes are in season and they are only around for a short time
Thought: i can have a big ole tomato sandwich, i am in maintenance
    Feeling: hunger, and entitlement
    Action: overeating

now change the thought and you will change the action.

    the circumstance is the same
Thought: This fresh produce is delicious . it is healthy, satisfying and fulfilling. and if i am still hungry after mindfully eating it. I can have a bite of the tart. my body, my choice
Feeling: hunger and conviction and determination
Action: ate when your hungry and stopped when you are full.

Soooo, if you want to eat when your hungry and stop when your full. you need to start thinking the second thought instead of the first one. so pick something you want to happen, and work the model backward. it will show you what you have to think to get you there.

@amytriesww yayayay another day building the new amy. she is coming along nicely. ohh and i agree on the tomato sandwich and cuke salad. mmmmmmmm....

@GingerPwr it will be so nice to have you back. we have missed you. and you maintained your weight. that is a success!!

@ljdanny lol, come on gramma, you cant be patient when it comes to babies. love me some babies!! you lucky girl.

@amsandos you have got a solid plan. now..... put it in action girl. do you journal? i know you have a busy life but journaling can really help you unravel the unwanted behaviors. work the though model in your journal. it will point out very quickly what you faulty thinking is that needs to be changed. and one piece of chocolate is not the problem, it is the thoughts you have about it. you really need to do some thought work. get busy, and share if you would like. love a good plan, now get checking things off your list and then journal about it!

    Tuesday Check in:

Food - almost on plan. I was "starving" yesterday morning - more like stressed working on a report so had an extra bar but stopped there. Yay me! Balance of day was on plan.
    Water - great
Exercise - 10,000+ steps and yoga

Over all though a good day and a great learning experience...just because I am using mega brain power doesn't mean I should be hungry :)

@cyndiesstuff - I am going to print out the Self-talk worksheet. I do tell myself lots of stuff and sometimes I"m not even aware I'm talking to myself :)

Have a wonderful day everyone...back to work now!

    Check in for Tuesday
Food: not logged and probably over
    Water: 48 oz
    Exercise: 30 minute bike ride
    Steps: 5,158

Not the best day yesterday. I ate off plan, overate, ate things I shouldn't have. I also didn't get much accomplished. I did pull it together at the end of the day and went for a bike ride. I also ate a healthy dinner and did not snack afterwards. I telling myself that I blew it already and I might as well give in but I didn't. When I went to bed, I told myself I was going to just walk by the kitchen and not go in. That is exactly what I did. I didn't even go in to put my water glass in the dishwasher Lol! It may have been easier because I was reading all the posts I missed and it helped me stay motivated. Today is a new day. I have PT at 3pm so no time to fool around. I need to get the stuff done I blew off yesterday. I already have my food pre logged and a 24 hour plan. Time to get back on track! The weather isn't too great today so I will not be kayaking. I am hoping to get a good walk in with Daisy and a bike ride.

    My plan for today-
back to hitting my small, daily goals-exercise at least 1/2 hour, 6K steps, 64 oz water, log food, eat only when hungry and to satisfied, no snacks after dinner, plan tomorrow food and 24 hour plan
    Food-
Low carb protein bar, 2 cups of coffee with low fat creamer
Turkey in low carb wrap with Lettuce, tomato, low fat ranch and guac, yogurt, 1/2 bag (individual size) baked lays chips
Sunflower chopped salad bag with tuna pouch, yogurt
    snacks-fresh fruit
Positive self talk for today(I am not creative, I found it on pinterest and liked it)

I have all that I need to make today a great day!

@amsandos There is actually a PNP podcast on that. She actually said that you need to make a realistic plan. If you need chocolate, put it in your plan. It would be a good one for you to listen to. She also has at least one on self care. Nice job bringing the cheesecake home to share instead of eating it. Looks like you have a great plan for the day! Let's do this!! BTW-sounds like you have sweet co workers who give you treats. Have you told them that you are trying to eat healthier? Maybe they will stop putting it on your desk. I just get a feeling that they know you like sweets and are trying to be nice. It would be easier just to avoid the kitchen but when it is sitting on your desk is a little harder.
@cyndiesstuff I hope you get your little critter and can bring him out to the woods. Great job getting out for a walk even though you didn't feel like it. I love all the positive self talk posts. I actually am doing better with this. I almost always catch myself now AND I notice it more when other people are doing it. A work in progress...
@carlssoda- yes- Yay you!! You noticed what you were doing and put a stop to it! Awesome!!

    Weigh in day Wednesday
    Weigh in week 3
    PW 244.2
    CW 241.2
    Lbs lost 3.0

    Checking in
Super psyched about the weight loss this month!! It is a result of increased exercise and logging food and large increase in water. I am fully aware future weight loss will not look like this. Best feeling of the day is my body reacting to the workout yesterday with my trainer.
I am really excited about this weekend. My son is moving from Philadelphia (near Pats Steaks) to West Chester and more importantly, closer to me:-) I am going to help him and feel so much stronger and better equipped to help him without hurting myself.

    Daily Check In: Tuesday
Food: Pre-logged, ate as planned, under on calories (FINALLY!)
    Water: Great
Exercise & Steps: 6 mile hike; 20,335 steps

Haven't checked in for a few days. I've been struggling this week. We had a stormy weekend. I love the rain but it makes me lazy and crave comfort food. Monday I made Eggplant Parmesan for the first time and it was delish! Had a second helping without thinking about whether I was hungry or not. Gave myself a good talking to yesterday LOL and went for a hike as a bit of punishment. Today is better motivation wise but weight is up. Lost the momentum I had last week ugh. Got my walk in early today and mowed the frotn and back lawns. Food is pre-logged for the day. Headed to the doctor's office for an ultrasound as follow up to my mammogram... what fun.

@amsandos I don't have an overwhelming sweet tooth but I can't resist cheesecake or chocolate! Those are my faves! Hang in there girl!!
    @barbb1557 You're having a great week! WTG!!
@sleepymom5 Glad you're back! I missed you!! I like your positive self talk!!
@kirsten11872 What a cutie!! OMG I'm in love LOL
@cyndiesstuff I literally LOL'd reading that you put a water dish in the live trap! I'm going to read your self talk post when I get back home.

Gotta run... Happy Hump Day all!!

@cyndiesstuff yup that was me in the first model. Working on it.

I ate a fresh mango for dinner. Scale was happy again...back at goal weight this morning. Didn't sleep well, stomach too empty and lots of work stuff buzzing in my head.
I woke up and ate 1/2 a banana and went for my run. Molly wasn't up to it so I changed my short walk to a 5K run distance. Was great to feel so alive.
Robin (my daughter) and I went out to lunch. I am getting my haircut at 3:30 and I have 6 employee mid-year evaluations I am in the process of trying to complete.

Hang in there everyone and yes indeed Happy Hump day Nancy! And welcome back Pam!!! And Ginger soooo happy your coming back.

So far, so good this week. Well, sort of. Monday did water aerobics and some housework as usual. Did good with calories, food and steps. Tuesday took my grandson to the dentist and it took longer than expected - he needed three fillings. After that my granddaughter and I went to Applebees for her birthday lunch - she's 16. On the way a stone cracked my windshield! There goes $250+ for replacement. We have $500 deductible so no insurance coverage!!! They pay for repairs in full but not replacement.
Today I am doing more around the house and getting ready for a trip to the beach tomorrow. My daughter is driving and we're leaving ~8:30 a.m. returning ~7 p.m. So a day of rest and fun in the water. Friday my brother is arriving at 2 for one night on his way to a wedding on Saturday. Busy Friday morning too.

@Barbb1557 Awesome loss! I am happy to hear your son is moving closer to you. My daughters go to West Chester university. It must be a nice feeling to know you are able to actually help him. That is an awesome NSV!
    @kirsten11872 What’s his name?! He’s so cute!
@nstephenson01 I have done the same thing (taking more food without stopping to thing if I am hungry)many times. I am guessing our old habits are so ingrained that we fall back to them. It’s a learning process.
@Mrsbell8well hope your day went better than your night. Xoxo
@pacsnc6 You have had a busy week! Enjoy the beach tomorrow!
@lennoncpa. Wtg with the nuts! Good move staying away from them!
@hope002 Sounds like you have had a great week! I am trying to ease into IF, I am starting by no eating after dinner. Once I master that, I am going to work my way up to 16/8. I am so glad it is working for you.

It's a girl!! I will have 2 granddaughters, so exciting. I can't wait. I'm heading home tomorrow from vacation. I'm going to try to remember to weigh in before I hit the road. We are saying our goodbyes now. So sad. They are trying to get us to stay a few more days. It's tempting but I have to get back to reality. I will try to check in tomorrow

    Wednesday Check in
    Food: tracked, and on plan
    Water: about 90 oz
Exercise: 1 hour morning walk, 30 minute evening walk
    Steps: 15,158

Had a late start to the day- could not get to sleep last night. My fitbit says I only got 2 hours and 52 minutes of sleep. It was a long day, however, I still got in all my exercise and stayed completely on track. Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment to recheck my iron levels and see what's going on with my anemia. I've had lots of fatigue, some shortness of breath and my hair is still falling out! lol So, I don't think it's changed. Hoping for new treatment options. My appt. is early morning, so I'll be coming straight home to get my exercise in!

@kirsten11872 He is definitely the cutest!! He looks so tiny! What did you name him?

@pacsnc6 I'm sorry to hear about your windshield! That really stinks! And man, prices have gone up since the last time I had to replace a windshield! I hope you have a great time at the beach!

@lennoncpa I totally get your nut addiction! I love nuts too! I buy the 100 calorie packs of dry roasted almonds because I cannot be trusted around a full can!

@Barbb1557 Congrats on your big loss this week! You're killing it! And Yay! for your son moving closer!

@ljdanny Congratulations on expecting a new granddaughter! How exciting!

    Check in for Wednesday
    Food: on plan
    Water: 60 oz
    Exercise: 50 minute walk
    Steps: 10488

i was proud this morning of myself. i have been working really hard on my mind set. (my positive self talk for today) i am losing weight for the last time. i am stronger than my strongest urges. it was a good day yesterday. i am figuring out how to balance my new job with my life or my life with my new job!!

    td16w3vdf9ga.jpg

i wanted to take a moment and give you an example of how the thought model works in reverse. lets start with a behavior i want to change or the action.

My behavior i want to change is, mindless snacking in the evening. So my action is what i want to do instead. Write in my journal.

    Circumstance: Snacking in the evening
    Thought
    Feeling
    Action: Write in my Journal

Now, What do i need to think, to get the action of writing in my journal? Brainstorming will help me figure this out, writing helps me relieve stress, writing helps me learn about myself. So lets plug that in.

    Circumstance: Snacking in the evening
Thought: Brainstorming will help me figure this out, writing helps me relieve stress, writing helps me learn about myself
    Feeling
    Action: Write in my Journal

Now the feelings those thoughts should provoke are as follows:

    Circumstance: Snacking in the evening
Thought: Brainstorming will help me figure this out, writing helps me relieve stress, writing helps me learn about myself
Feeling: Strong, in control, loving, inquisitive, and above all, willing to try.
    Action: Write in my Journal

Ok, i have to get busy. i got side tracked with the above. but i think we can all use a little thought work, or maybe alot!!

@carlsoda that is one step close to your goal. good job stopping your compulsiveness before it got out of control. wooo whoo NSV!! and until we recognize all the self defeating things we say to ourselves, the harder changing our behavior is. we have to make a conscious effort at first to say nice things. set a timer on your phone to remind you of your positive self talk. soon it will be easier and eventually it will just be who you are!!

@sleepymom5 ohhh and you had a great NSV too. look at you changing your your old behaviors. see what i said above to carlsoda, that goes to you too. and everyone on the team really!! and good job at making your plan. you are right there girl!! keep it up. and smile! because this is the last time we are going to lose this weight.

@Barbb1557 oooohhh myyyy goshhhhh. look at you go! good job~! super excited for you. you are building positive momentum by sticking to your plan of doing what is best for your body!!

@kirsten11872 ummmm that is the cutest little creature i have seen in a long time! ADORBS!!

omgosh it is finally raining. (just a side note)

@nstephenson01 ohhh yea!!! you did it. ate on plan. (i like the new nancy having a plan!!!!) and i really don't think that the rain makes you do anything, just so you know. the rain is a circumstance, your thought is it makes you lazy and crave comfort food, your feelings i can't resist, i have nothing else to take my mind off it, i am bored, the action you at off plan. try using the thought model today and work it backwards. how can you change that action? because the new nancy, every time it rains or snows, cannot eat off plan. it is not about the food or about the rain. did they find something in your mammogram? let us know what they find. and my husband was laughing out loud too. but i told him, the little bugger might be thirsty! i wonder how many ounces of water a coon needs to drink a day? hmmmm......

@Mrsbell8well i know you are girly girl!! your gonna make maintenance happen. this is the last time you are going to lose this weight too!! ohhh and i know that Adrenalin rush you get from exercise. it does feel amazing!!

@pacsnc6 how did you do at applebees? did you make a plan before you went? ohhh no 250 bucks for a windshield. that sucks. and your day today sounds lovely. i sure hope the weather cooperates!!

@lennoncpa happy thursday! hey it rained for 30 seconds this morning. good job on staying away from your trigger food, aka nuts!!

@hope002 is IF something your comfortable with for a food plan forever? if not, what will you do when you get to maintenance? i do a form of IF. i don't eat breakfast and eat lunch around 1. which works for me. let us know how its going and what your plans are.

@ljdanny omgosh two baby girls. sooo lucky. drive safe home. and then you need to pick right back up where you left off.

@amytriesww that is a wonderful NSV!! you got no sleep and you followed your plan anyway. look at you go! you are building a strong new amy. she thanks you for yesterday!!

@phoebe112476 it is amazing! you took your problem analyzed it, planned it and now are working the steps!! you, as well had a Great NSV!

    Check in for Wednesday
    Food: logged and on target
    Water: 72 oz
Exercise: 30 minute bike ride, 15 min stationary bike, PT
    Steps: 7,531

Great day yesterday! Finally! Met all my mini goals, got a lot accomplished, even took MK shopping for her college apartment. She wants to be there on Tuesday although school doesn't start until the following Monday. We will be busy with that Monday and Tuesday. Today I am having my sister in law, niece and her children for a bay day. They want to get pizza. I am actually going to plan on a piece and make a salad too. I already have cut up veggies ready to go for a snack. I also plan on hitting all my mini goals again today.

Sad news for my fitbit...I wore my fitbit one (that I clip on my bra) into the bay last week. I found an old one that I thought still worked but the battery wont charge. The fitbit one was discontinued so I have to start wearing a wrist one. I just do not like the idea of wearing on my wrist and I don't think I will be as good wearing it. I have been wearing a clip fitbit for over 7 years so I am super bummed...

My positive self talk for today
My strength is greater than any struggle

    My thought model for today
    Circumstance: Overeating
Thought: I want to get into a routine of only eating when I am hungry and stopping when I am satisfied.
Feeling: In control and willing to try.(<--I may have stolen this from @cyndiesstuff Lol!)
Action: Eat 1/2 of what is on my plate and wait a bit to see if still hungry. If still hungry, eat to 3/4 and wait. If still hungry, eat but leave a few bites on the plate.

@cyndiesstuff Nice loss! I love your model for nighttime snacking. That is one I can follow too. You really seem to be in a good place right now. All those life changes that were stressful to say the least, have all worked out. I know you are worked hard to make sure that happened. Hugs to you! And yes, we all need to do mind work. It is such a new concept to me. I listen to at least 1 PNP podcast and 1 Brooke Castillo podcast per day. I am a work in progress!

This week has been a busy week! Monday was my first day being back at work since my surgery and I had a consultation with radiation oncology yesterday. Unfortunately after next Tuesday I’ll have to put weight loss on hold for about 6 weeks. I can lose a little but it’s not recommended to lose much because they apparently have to make a cradle for my body that keeps me in the same position every time I have to have radiation, which will be a total of 30 rounds.

@sleepymom5 thanks for the recommendations of working on other things besides just my weight! And it’s funny that you brought up nights, I typically work days 5-2 but we have three weeks of overnights coming up. (I’m the merchandising manager at one of those big box stores!) I’m a little anxious about my upcoming treatments and how working nights will effect me.

    Checking in on Thursday
My food is still below 1000 calories, but I am not as hungry at night like I used to be. Maybe it is because my protein percentages have increased. I caught up with a friend last night for haircuts then we went out for a drink and something small to eat. I managed to have 5 glasses of water and she had a beer and fried cheese. I tipped the bar staff because my quick water refills kept me full and not as tempted to order yummy bar food.
Kudos to those of you walking an hour in this humidity. I am drenched after 20 to 30 minutes.

    Daily Check In: Wednesday
Food: Pre-logged, ate as planned, under on calories
    Water: Great
Exercise & steps: 3 mile hike; 19,388 steps

Wow... surprised and disappointed by today’s weight as I was nowhere near that just yesterday. I’ve been pushing myself harder physically since the weather has cooled a bit and feeling some soreness as a result. Hoping some of this gain is from muscles mending themselves. A new week ahead for me to do better!! Nothing notable from yesterday’s ultrasound and don’t need to return for 6 months. Yay! Just back from an 8 mile hike this morning. I know you can’t out-walk your mouth but I’m sure trying LOL Today is our monthly neighborhood ladies luncheon at a barbecue joint of all places. Nothing” healthy” on the menu so I’m thinking of starting with a salad and eating just half of my entrée. It’s not so much how much I eat for the most part as it is the sodium that restaurants put in their food that really messes with my system.

Whoo Hoo @cyndiesstuff Nice Loss! I knew August was going to be your month!!
@sleepymom5 I’m so sorry about your Fitibit. Its so funny how they become such a part of us! I was lost when the strap on mine broke and I had to go a few days before I received a replacement.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

@cyndiesstuff way to go chick-a-dee!!! Looks like you are tracking right on target to meet your goal this month.

Molly and I jumped out of bed and did a 5 mile hilly bike ride this morning. It is so invigorating. We are pretty psyched about it. We are going out of town this weekend to a family gathering and taking our bikes. And our food. Molly planned an early morning 45 minute ride for us this Sunday. Then we will go to the country house and make a big nutritious breakfast.
This morning I didn't have a chance to weigh. (and truthfully it was so nice to take a break from the scale). It has been such a nice few days. I have been eating just the right amount, sleeping well, and getting a great amount of exercise in. I even got my yoga in last night while Molly cooked dinner. I am the cook in the family but boy, she can really hit it out of the ballpark from time to time. Our produce last night was spinach and cherry tomatoes. She roasted the tomatoes with red pepper, steamed the spinach, made a pot of organic rigatoni and served it with hot Italian vegan sausages. It was spectacular. This morning I freaked out and had to go look at the label. I thought "oh, oh...I think I ate real sausages last night". These sausages are from "Beyond" the burger people that is causing quite the sensation. You would never believe they were plant based. So good news...I stayed on course with my vegan plan.

Work is super busy. Hopefully I can comment on everyone again soon.

@cyndiesstuff I'm never hungry in the morning and always skip breakfast. My problem is I eat late at night and usually high calorie stuff. With IF I eat from 11 to 7. It is not too hard for now not to eat after 7. yesterday, for example I had diner late - 7:30ish, today I ate at 12.
I will see how it goes and will try to make it a permanent thing.
