@cyndiesstuff I need to pick some of my vegetables, unfortunately with all I was dealing with this year the weeds have taken over. I had the same problem with zucchini this year. I think we’ve just had to much rain. And I have not got to speak with my oncologist yet, but my surgeon told me I could resume my regular activities, and while I was getting my targeted therapies my nurses said I could resume eating all food just try to limit red meat, so I think I’m good to go. I go to a radiation oncologist on Wednesday so I’ll ask them also. My next appointment with my oncologist is the 27th when I have to go back for another treatment.4

Daily Check in: Thursday & Friday
Food: Logged both days, over on Thursday; under on Friday
Water: Great
Exercise & steps: Thursday 30 minute walk; 13,977 steps. Friday: yoga class; 7,851 steps
Thursday was just a plain weird day... felt off all day... tired & hungry. My neighbor called to ask if she could come visit. She walked up leading her husband by the hand. Turns out he's been diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer's. She's trying to handle everything all by herself. I'm not sure how long she'll be able to keep that up. I've made a point to visit more often, they especially enjoy playing with my dogs, and think I will bring her an occasional meal. I cook on the spicy side so need to tone it down for them. They're old school and not readily accepting of assistance but I'll try given that we get along and she's opening up to me. Friday was a better day but my shoulder is bothering me and yoga didn't help it as much as I had hoped. Decided to take a rest day and also chose to take a break from technology. It was a nice restful day. Shoulder is somewhat better today.
Today's NSV: Fit back into an old pair of Lucky Brand jeans. So excited! Don't care if they
may not be in style anymore... I'm totally rocking them. Oh how they were my favorite back in the day which is why I refused to get rid of them all these years.
@Mrsbell8well I'll definitely let you know when I make it. Probably won't be until next month. Momentum is on my side and if it continues I'll hit goal in September. Will be a bit more experimental with my eating at that point. I also saw an alfredo recipe that uses cauliflower. I looked at the produce challenge you mentioned but we don't have that kind of variety around here. Focusing on what my garden is producing and Dr. Gregor's daily dozen for now.
@DananaNanas Girl, I'm right there with ya... I drink everyday. I know its not healthy but I'm not interested in giving it up at this point... it is what it is. Just take into account the empty calories. I'm losing and drinking LOL Please post a pic of the dress! And I'm trying to think of the show... what is it? Hope they're getting along.
@cyndiesstuff I have tons of zucchini and only green tomatoes. We need to be neighbors! LOL
@kirsten11872 OOooh I love Hibachi!!! We go each time I visit my hubby in PA. Tons of sodium tho... you'll drop those pounds quickly.
My phone keeps alerting me that storms are approaching so I'm jumping off before I lose power. Hope everyone's having a great weekend!4 -
@cyndiesstuff No to the knitting/crocheting. My friend had another stroke then had to go back to the hospital for something else. I know she is disappointed.
I had "fun" this week washing curtains. Wednesday and Thursday I did a room - curtains at a small window in one bedroom then drapes in the master bedroom. Yesterday I did six more windows - long curtains that needed to be ironed too. Thought I'd never finish! Now I have the clean smell of ironing throughout the house.
This coming week will be busy. Monday a normal day starting with water aerobics class, Tuesday take my grandson to the dentist and then take my granddaughter out for lunch and birthday shopping (this got postponed from Friday for an event she forgot about), Wednesday is a meeting at church in the morning, Thursday a beach day with my daughter and grandkids, Friday my brother and sister in law are coming for one day/night. Something every day. And the week after that school starts so I will be busy every morning when he volunteer activities start up again!
My granddaughter did not pass her driving test this week as she went to slow on a road bumpy with lots of badly filled potholes. She goes back on Wednesday.

Check in for Saturday
Food: on plan
Water: 60 oz
Exercise: 30 min walk
Steps: 11643
worked hard yesterday. was up early working in my garden. i love this time of year when the garden starts to produce. laundry is done, house is clean, the old folks are taken care of. i accomplished everything on my list and stayed on track. today, i am not feeling to well. started getting sick yesterday. gonna take it easy. but i do want everyone to participate in the Team weight no mores week 2 challenge. I am "POSITIVE" it will be beneficial. i want out thread to be filled with positive self talk this week. to the point of over the top!! lets show them our spirit. I'll start:
I am strong and build with fierce resolve. I will accomplish my goals!
@Mrsbell8well i like your maintenance plan. you will figure this out. I know it!! I'm positive!!
@lennoncpa music can make one's soul sing!! i agree with your your analysis of the nut problem. it sounds like nuts just might be a trigger for you. ohhh and your son is so cute he pick your birthday to celebrate his. how special.
@Moarrein yea, thanks for sharing your illness. i feel the same way today. yes you were feeling bad and it was physical but food will not fix it. so the model would be something like this:
Fact: your sick
Thought: i hurt, im tired, i won't be able to sleep, sugar might help
Feeling: anxious and an urge to eat
Action: over eating, compulsive eating, sleep
The theory is, change the thought it changes the feelings that evoke the action.
Fact: your sick
Thought: i hurt, im need rest, hot sleepy time tea and meditation will help me relax
Feeling: calm, relaxed tired
Action: more conducive to sleep, rest
now you may not believe the thought at first, but that is where your power is. the brain will learn the new way but only if you work on it. take lots of practice but it is worth it.
@timibotkin i agree. the conditions were really yucky this spring. ohhh and if we were neighbors, i would come and weed your garden for you. we could smile and laugh just because. and if no one has told you lately, timi, you are doing some amazing work. you are one of the strongest people i know. hugz to you!!
@nstephenson01 ohhhh girl, you fit into your old jeans!! that must have been an amazing feeling. what did you say to yourself when you zipped them up? we would be great neighbors. i love your lifestyle. we could work in each others gardens. it would be grand fun and would burn those calories like crazy!!
@pacsnc6 wow you have a crazy busy week ahead. one more reason to eat healthy. you got this!!

Week 2
PW: 258.5
CW: 254.5
One of my goals this week is to try and be more active in the group. I think I only had a couple posts here this week. It's been really busy around here with school starting in 2 weeks. My daughter goes back to school and I'm also a full time student, so my fall semester starts in 2 weeks as well. We also had a bad storm here back in May where we lost our roof, gutters, downspouts and the window screens on the back of our house (which is not even 2 years old). One of our cars was also totaled. So, there are insurance adjusters and contractors all over the place. I'll be so glad when everything is fixed!
Even though I haven't been around, I've still been giving it my best. Although, I wasn't expecting such a big loss this week since I was still feeling a little under the weather. But, I'll definitely take it! lol
I hope everyone is doing well and feeling strong as we go into another week!5 -

Todays Weight: 128.8
Oh wow! i am beyond excited this morning after stepping on the scale! My biggest loss in months! i’m pumped, and motivated to try even harder this week!
thanks for all the support and encouragement to not give up! ❤️7 -
We’re having such a fun weekend! We have Skylynn with us. We started yesterday with a hike up on Skyline drive. We took the old folks. They set up chairs in the shade and waited for us. Then out to lunch and grocery shopping. Came home and made vegan speghetii and meatballs and vegan Parmesan. Last night I enjoyed a lovely glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. We watched the Amazing Race and ate popcorn. This morning Molly and I got up early and did a 5 mile bike ride. 1/2 way through we encountered a roadblock. A big black cow was blocking are path. Poor cow had managed to get out of the fenced pasture. We managed to calm it enough to walk our bikes around it. Ahhhh life in the country. We love it. Came home , ate breakfast, worked on jigsaw puzzle with Skylynn...almost done, took OF’s to church, shopped at local coop for fresh tomatoes...making tomato sandwiches, and now we’re at a Mexican Festival representing my work. Almost done. Then home to swim and have more fun. Making plum tart and Swiss chard lasagna with bechamel sauce and carmelized onions for dinner.
I realize this morning that I am hungry for everything. My homemade cookies, glasses of wine, early bike rides, lasagna, laughter, plum tarts. I want it all. This is the big difference between “dieting” and maintenance. I get it all. I spent a year doing what I had to do. I did eat to live. Now I get to live to eat as well! I love wonderful nutritious seasonal food.
Life is so good! And now that I still work out my body is changing. My weight stays the same but clothes fitting better. Everyday of the last year was worth it to bring me to this point in my life.
So it turns out we can have it all. I’m finding my balance and loving it!6 -

@cyndiesstuff, thanks so much for explaining. I think I got the idea
I still have fever and I'm very exhausted, so I'm planning to visit the doc again tomorrow. I decided to change my diet a little while I'm sick. I continue to eat mostly fruits, veggies, soups and lighter meats, but I'll adjusted my calorie intake from negative to neutral. I'm close to my goal so it won't hurt me if I stay here for a while. And I'm not sure if it's OK for my imune sistem if I'm not getting enough calories... The funny thing is it turns out that it's very hard to reach that maintenance calorie limit by just eating such healthy foods Maybe I could add some nuts...
Check in for Saturday
Food: logged and under
Water: enough
Exercise: 30 min light impact aerobics + 20 min walk
Steps: 8728
Check in for Sunday
Food: logged and intentionally a little over
Water: enough
Exercise: 10 min stretching + 20 min pacing at home
Steps: 2000

Really struggling with increasing snacks at bedtime /evening snack time. Decided to try to plan my snacks at dinner each day. Then only eat the plan. Will try this and see. Today I ate only what I logged and I am in my calories goal - now to get to sleep without more snacking. First time I have really struggled since less strict in the calorie counting - but I have already made a plan and it has only been a few days. Certain I will be back on track soon. The learning along the way will be worth it long term. #notinadiet #lifelongchange3

Week 2
PW: 139
CW: 137
Considering I did not have a perfect week. I am happy with my loss. I think it goes to show that you don't need to be 100% all the time. The main thing for me is that I over eat. I get fat when I over eat. If I eat what I need that I can maintain a healthier weight. I know it is not rocket science but this a bit of a revelation for me. On saturday I stayed up late and watched a whole season on Glow making me tired and ratty yesterday. Today I am feeling a lot better but sleep is a major part of the puzzle I am neglecting.
the computer wiped my previous message where I described my BBQ. I haven't got time to write it up again. Just to say somethings went well food wise other didn't.
This weeks pledges are to stay out of the kitchen at work and to make sure that I sleep. Possibly to buy a new computer.
@cyndiesstuff I guess the model is a reviewing tool not a planning tool. I was using it to unpick my attitudes towards eating at family occasions. I will look at it again.5 -
Yesterday was a good day.
I managed to walk 10,000 steps, drank my water and stayed within my calories.
My cold is also over, so I'm counting on this being a good week.
@cyndiesstuff: I actually have a samsung watch, which I'm very happy with, but I'm not sure that the heart rate monitor is all that accurate.
I also love your mental thinking. I'm definitely going to give that a try. Thanks for sharing!3 -
Check in for Sunday
Food: on plan
Water: not enough
Exercise: none rest day
Steps: 5280
still not feeling well but right now i can't take time off. so i will go to work and smile. smile because i want to. and thats that. so how is everyone doing with the positive self talk? today's positive self talk for me:
Look how cute you are!! Strong beautiful and confident. Walk in like you own the place girl!!
@DananaNanas that's ok dana, sit down today and make a plan. what is your next best step?
@lennoncpa ok... that pup is the cutest little thing i have ever seen. look at those tiny legs!
Did anyone go and read the mod's challenge? eat off a red plate? what do you think?
@amytriesww ohhhh yeah girl that is a 4 pound loss this week! good job. what are you going to school for? and we would really enjoy you checking in more. it is hard to be accountable to people if you have no vested interest. so come back daily. give us 5 minutes and tell us what your doing.
@twyla77 wooooo whooooo girl. look at you go. nice week! now get busy. you can do this.
@Mrsbell8well balance and moderation. thats the key! ahhh there are a lot of keys, i am going to get a key ring to carry them all with me. at least until i become confident enough to chose the key i will need for the situation. sounds like your weekend was lovely. and skylynn is such a doll! look at the little angel. her gramma's tuckered her all out!!
@hope002 i have found that when i celebrate with dancing i lose weight. good job being the DD! you saved lives and calories.
@Moarrein ahhh and you are a good momma! and cute as a button too! and your food plan make sense. i would agree, your body needs extra healthy nutrition when you are ill.
@CassieGetsFit2013 i will get you excused cassie. you have fun on the beach in spite of you period. does it seem like your supplements are helping?
@phoebe112476 good job recognizing the increase in snacking. and the skills you have learned to lose weight are the same ones you need now to get that snacking back under control. maybe start checking in after dinner and letting us all know what your plan is. you got this tho.
@amsandos the model can be used as a planning tool. you just work it backwards. so start with the action you want to see, then what feelings do you need to produce that action, then what thoughts do you need to make those feelings. it can be used both ways, as a planning tool and as an analysis tool. keep working it. and that loss this week. woooooooo whooooo. cyndie is doing the happy dance! so super proud of you.
@ihp2015 you go girl. that is one day in your string. you keep working at it. and more that half of this weight loss project is mental. we need to let go of our faulty thinking and adopt new and healthy thinking right along with food. it is going to be a good day.

And we are a team of losers!! look at us! we rock!!

Way to go team!!

What is your positive self talk for today? Please share....
6 -
@lennoncpa - oh my gosh - what a cutie and so tiny!!
@cyndiesstuff - does eating off an orange plate count? I have a lovely orange fiesta plate that I use every night. No one else is allowed to use it!!
Weekend update:
Not too too bad. I noticed I was a little sore in my hips and such and I think it was left overs from bad eating earlier in the week. Likely sugar induced pain. But today I woke up feeling a little better. A little yoga always helps too.
Saturday I did C25K and yesterday took it easy. Today is another C25K, great food planned and stay hydrated.
For all who are not feeling well....hope you get better soon! We are not supposed to get sick in the summer. It's some sort of rule right?
Have a great Monday.5 -

Not a good week. We were traveling again and I can't seem to control the eating when we go out to eat. So many good things to try but they are also overly salty and a lot of sugar and carbohydrates. Back to the grind again and we will be home for the next several weeks.5 -
