@cyndiesstuff I agree with you...you are incredibly cute, adorable, smart and your work is so lucky to have you! As are we under your team stewardship.
I am always full of positive self talk. Today..."I am slender, toned, happy and healthy! I make wise decisions daily to stay physically, mentally and emotionally fit." "and I am really cute too!"3 -

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well this month. I realized I have not really posted this month. I was on 2 weeks vacation from work and I did not really check posts.
So far August has been ok. I was up a little after my trip to Vegas which was a fun time. Last week I was good and the scale was moving down, then I went off-track a little on Wednesday and Hibachi on Friday along with 2 glasses of wine did not help. I usually go to the gym on Friday after work and eat a light dinner, but when my hubby wanted to go out to eat, I could not resist. I enjoyed it, so no regrets! The rest of the weekend was pretty much a wash. I did workout on Saturday & Sunday and my intentions were to eat well, but that did not happen. I went food shopping yesterday, bought lots of fresh fruit and healthy options. I am feeling good today, getting back on track.
Have a wonderful week!5 -
That post is so true @cyndiesstuff! Our diet is everything that affects our lives! Love your work space, so cute! I hope the new job is going well! I am sure you posted about it, I just have not had time to catch up.3

@Mrsbell8well love all your pictures! You are definitely enjoying life! Good for you!2

I am back! The last of my guests leave tomorrow. I am not going to lie, I don't even know where to start on here. I have missed so much! I am going to go back and read everything but I am not sure if I will be able to comment. I had a nice week or so but it is time to get back into my normal routine. Good things-I did keep up with exercise, steps and water. Bad things-over ate and didn't always make good choices. I will check in tomorrow. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone!7

Happy Monday everyone. The day is going great so far. I started out with my morning workout and the instructor had some intensive “push yourself as much as you can” exercises for us to start out the week. I like to do group training for just that reason. If left on my own, I don’t do my best. I’m also a competitive person, so I like the challenge. I had both of my hips replaced in 2016 so I do try to stay away from high impact moves (mostly because I have some plastic parts in my body that will wear out faster). But that doesn’t mean a wimpy workout. So I do low impact jumping jacks and fast walking instead of running. But I can hold the longest plank and do perfect sit-ups. So we just learn to make the best of our particular situation. I’m doing so much better with my new hips- and I don’t take that for granted. I feel lucky that the options were there for me when my hips got bad.7

Monday Check in
Food: tracked, and on plan
Water: probably around 50 oz which isn't enough for me
Exercise: 1 hour morning walk, 30 minute evening walk
Steps: 14,908 so far
Today was a pretty good day. Did lots of walking and a little bit of meal prep for the week. I made some Salsa Chicken in the crock pot (4 chicken breasts and 2 jars of salsa). Cooked on high for 4 hours and then shredded. I'll use that for tacos, burritos, wraps, and sandwiches throughout the week. I also made some black bean and corn salsa to go with salmon- weird combination, but I love it. It's so much easier for me to stay on track if I can just grab and go. I actually don't think my eating has been this well under control in over a decade. I started this lifestyle in June and I haven't had any slip ups since my first week (though I do remember that Dorito incident fondly! lol). I'm just at a place where I want to be healthy more than I want food that isn't good for me.
@cyndiesstuff I'm in a Health Information Management program. This is my last full semester and then in the spring I have 1 class left and I'll have to do a clinical where I actually work at a hospital for credit. I'm 37 and I'm actually getting a degree! I never thought that I could do it, but here I am almost done!
Here's to another great week! I hope it's a good one for all my teammates!

My vacation is almost over. I will be heading home on Thursday, I think. I will have to eat lettuce, chicken, veggies and fruit for a year to feel normal again. I did eat pretty well while I was here but we did tend to have a lot of ice cream, alcohol and bread. I did have a lot of salad and eggs though so that might have balanced it out. I tried to get in a 3 mile walk daily. I'm planning an exercise routine for when I get home and I will head to the grocery store. I will be hitting the rest button at the end of the week.4
-
@Mrsbell8well loved your pics. I try to make it up to the SNP at least once a year! I love it up there. It’s absolutely beautiful!1

Ran off to a new to me yoga class at the new place about 5 minutes from our new house. Was okay. Change is hard for me. Definitely will give it another go. Didn’t plan my night snack out since I ran off so fast to that class. But I was logging all my foods again today so that makes it easier. I had two snacks higher in protein because it was lower today than I like. Then I ate two graham crackers off my 5 yos plate. Sigh. But I logged them and am still under calories. In bed now and no more snacks!4

Check in for monday
Food: on plan
Water: 50 oz
Exercise: 40 minute walk
Steps: 10364
i am so happy with my new job. it's 5 o'clock before i know it. time flies by. my day was totally on track yesterday. ate healthy, exercised, drank my water, got in my steps and said positive things to myself. yayayay!! oh yea and i slept like a rock last night. doesn't happen a lot for me so when it does i feel like a rock star!!
@carlsoda i don't think eating off the orange plate is the same. i quit reading it about half way thru but it was saying that your brain makes the association that red means stop or danger. i don't know, i would say use what you want!! lol.
@jedaschultz ohhh man. vacation got you. and Deb, you can't control your eating when you go out because you tell yourself you can't. you most certainly can. did you make a plan before you went about what you were going to eat? or did you give yourself permission? thought work will really help you break some of those old erroneous beliefs.
@Mrsbell8well awhhh thanks sis!! your adorbs too!!
@gottagetthisdown thats just a small gain. you got this girl. what will you do this week? what is your next best move?
@kirsten11872 A little tough love ahead.... and you could resist. you chose not too. why? if you wanted to fine. but don't lie to yourself. words are so powerful. just from reading your post, i feel up, down, up, down like a see saw. i don't think your plan is working. now i know this is tough. believe me, i know first hand. i know you know how to lose weight but unless you change the way you think about it, it will continue to be a struggle. you need a plan you can live with for the rest of your life. your mind is one of the most powerful tools in your weight loss arsenal. learn how to use it for the things you want instead of the things you don't. have you tried listening to some of the podcasts we talk about on here? they really help teach you how to change your mind! you can do this kirsten. thanks for liking my work space and my new job is fricken fantastic!! it has done so much to help stimulate my sleepy mind!!
@sleepymom5 yayayayay! we have missed you. me especially!! you know want. don't worry about where to start. just start from here. where your at. now it is going to be hard to get back to your new life. your brain is going to rebel. tell it to shut up, you got this!!
@lennoncpa and your right about exercise classes. they do really help push you outside your comfort zone. sometimes it is hard to do that on our own. omgosh you had both of your hips replaced? that is a tough surgery. our doctors sure can do some amazing stuff these days.
@amytriesww mmmm salsa chicken sounds yummy. i make salsa fish with tinfoil in the oven. sooo good and you can eat a lot. and i don't think the black bean and corn salsa with salmon is weird at all. it sounds really good actually. and we will always have the memories of the dorito incident!!! lol..... that is wonderful about your school. it is such an accomplishment.
@ljdanny you will get back and get right back on track. positive thoughts!!
@phoebe112476 that is a great NSV!! i am super proud that you are giving the new yoga class a chance. good job making a commitment to yourself and keeping your word. you, my dear, are a beautiful work in progress. keep it up!!

Happy Tuesday!!
Yesterday check in:
Food - exactly on plan!!
Water - great
Exercise - C25K and some yoga. I lifted a case of oatmeal at work and felt something pull slightly in my lower back. I put biofreeze on it (keep some in my drawer), took advil and seat heater on my drive home. Did yoga last night and it actually feels so much better today. Usually day 2 is worse! I LOVE YOGA!!
Today's plan:
Food - all planned out
Exercise - yoga tonight and 10,000+ steps
Water - already working on it!
@sleepymom5 - WELCOME BACK!!! We missed you!!
@cyndiesstuff - so glad you are enjoying your days at work!!!
Have a wonderful day everyone!!2 -
Good Tuesday morning! Well I'm back from vacation and not feeling very positive at all I'm going to do my best to participate and get a plan in action I keep going in the circles the definition of crazy is doing the same thing expecting different results except I now know the results are not going to be the same and yet I continue to do them looking forward to better week, will check in tomorrow my goals are the same as last week til it becomes a habit! Very positive posts here I'm going to try and adapt some of them

Check in for Monday
Food: logged and over
Water: 48 oz
Exercise: 30 minute walk, 15 min stationary bike and over an hour PT
Steps: 8010
I could have done better with eating and getting water in yesterday. I was going to do a little more exercise yesterday but I started to feel the effects of PT in the afternoon. He warned me that was going to happen but I thought since I felt ok after the session that I would be good. My hip seems better but not enough to dial back the ibuprofen. I tried to lower the dose last week and ended up making things worse. Oh well, looks like things are moving in the right direction at least. I still haven't gotten to read back over everyone's post during the week. We are supposed to have a big storm this afternoon so I am going to wait until then. The last of my guests are packing up to go and then I am going to get some exercise in. Today is going to be exercising, cleaning, reading and planning. Hope everyone has a great day! I will check in later.

Checking in. I have been walking much more but still reaching to hit 5.,000 steps and have been working really hard with my trainer. When I left my hair was soaking wet and my T shirt was wet several inches below my bust.
On the down side I am developing shin splints and I think my meniscus is in need of some synvisc shots. My trainer showed me some exercises for the shin splints and I see my orthopedic Dr next Tuesday. Personal best leg press in my 60s, 250 pounds. My butt and thighs were singing :-)

Hello and happy Tuesday the 13th everyone. Is it just me - or does this month seem to be flying by???2
-
last night I had an obscenely big tomato sandwich with vinegar cucumbers and corn on the cob. I also had 2 bites of left over plum tart. My scale gave me a good scolding this morning. Sigh...skipping dinner tonight. Molly and I are getting pedicures instead. We got our bike ride in this morning. Lovely morning. breezy, warm and balmy.
I am so ready to see my weight back at 142 or under. I have been riding a bit high the last few days. Anxious to wean myself off of the scale soon. Molly was logging her food this morning. I was so surprised. I am determined to be as supportive to her as she has been to me. I have been having some splurge days lately. I need to remind myself that 1) I am human, 2) I am still me...Angelina and all those past eating habits that go with that, 3) my number one goal is to be healthy. I LOVE being healthy and strong. I am back on track today. I have actually been doing really well on maintenance but did I really need 2 pieces of lasagna and 2 pieces of warm plum tart with vanilla ice cream? NO I did not. But that was then this is now. I got it!1 -
Tuesday Check in
Food: tracked, and on plan
Water: not enough
Exercise: 1 hour morning walk, 30 minute evening walk
Steps: 15,052 so far
Another good day on track. Other than my walks, didn't do much. Stopped at Target for some school supplies for my daughter. Cleaned a little. Nothing too exciting going on!
@Mrsbell8well That sandwich sounds amazing! I love a tomato sandwich! I also like to mix cucumber, red onions, and vinegar. Reminds me of being a kid!
Hope everyone is having a great day!2 -
Hey everyone!
I've missed y'all but took a long and much needed break from everything.
I'd love to get back to active participation in September if that's okay.
My biggest summer victory is that I maintained my weight! Woo hoo!
I'll be reading up on everyone's progress. Glad to be back to a real routine soon!3 -
Today was a rainy day. No walk for me. Not sure if I really got any steps in. I had seconds on dinner. I shouldn't have but it was good and vacation is coming to an end. I didn't eat lunch today so does that count as lunch? I will be happy to get back into a routine. I sat on the couch last night and felt like I gained 20 pounds, it took me a while to move. I have been waiting patiently to here from my son to find out what the gender is of the baby. Not really patiently, I have text him almost every day. I wanted to buy the baby something while I was away. If they find out it's a girl I bought a ton of things for my other son's baby so I will split the stuff up and they can share.3

I finally finished reading what I missed! Congrats on all the losses! I also love how so many of you have been checking in daily. I am ready to join you! I tried to comment on all that I missed but there was a lot to go through so forgive me if I missed something.
I also hope everyone who is feeling sick, feels better soon!!
@cyndiesstuff Thank you again for everything. You are an awesome co captain! I am sorry I was out for our challenge too. Ugh! I still have to go look at that. I read about your garden. It is funny to think that in the beginning of the season you were having trouble because it was raining too much and now it isn't raining enough. I am glad to hear you are loving your job! I am glad you had the courage to take the leap and challenge yourself. I know it was hard leaving you other clients but this was an awesome move! What a whirlwind of a few months you have had!! I love your new work station!
@amsandos Disneyland Paris sounds exciting! Something to work towards and look forward to! I am in the same boat as you with the overeating. I am amazed when I focus how little I really need to eat compared to what I do. I really think this is important for us to figure out. I just need to knock it into my brain! Lol! I am getting better but some days are better than others for me. I love how you checked in the other day to tell us how you were resisting the biscuits and chocolate! Lol! Great job girl!! I really see a lot of similarities between you and I with the sweets and overeating. ( I wish I saw the similarities with the killer workouts you do! Lol!) We will keep plugging along and figure this out! Btw- I love your British sayings! It is funny how we speak the same language but have different words for things.
@ihp2015 Sounds like you had an amazing vacation! We missed you and are so happy that you are back on our team!
@phoebe112476 The progress you have made in the past year is amazing! I have learned so much from you! I am sure you will figure the nighttime snacking out. You sound like you have a good plan so hopefully that will work for you.
@Zumba_Luvah I have never heard of body groove but it sounds like a great workout! Is it a dance workout?
@carlsoda Love your goals for August! I know you will achieve them! You have been doing so well for a while now. You were right too, I needed to plan for eating 2 to 2. I did better some days than others. I need to practice so that it is always in my brain. Weird how quickly we can go back to old habits. I am glad that your pulled back wasn't as bad as usual. I really think yoga helps.
@CassieGetsFit14 When you set your mind to it you really do well. Start with small steps to get back into it. You can do this!! I don't take supplements but I hope they work for you. I agree with Cyndie though, they can't be the only thing you rely on. Hope you had fun at the beach!
@Barbb1557 I think your August goal sounds good! I also think that keeping that upcoming blood test in mind will also help you achieve your goal. I am guessing since you go to the Hershey Medical Center, you don't live far from there. I live a little over an hour from there, I am right outside of Philadelphia. I am glad you are checking in with us. I find checking in makes a difference. It is nice we have such a supportive team. You mentioned you are not much of a planner. Neither was I, I resisted for so long. Just give it a try. I don't know how I lived without planning. It really makes such a difference. You also may like those Phit and Phat podcasts. She does curse a lot but there is a lot of good information. Awesome loss last week too-tied for 3rd for pounds lost in the entire challenge!! I hope the shin splints do not turn into something big. You sound like you are killing it at the gym! When I start feeling them I usually need to get new sneakers. I also can't do inclines on the treadmill. They do hurt though. Glad you have a trainer and you are seeing your doctor soon so you can start healing.
@kirsten11872 I hope you enjoyed vacation! You are so close to your goal, I know you will be able to hit it by the end of the year! You know what to do! I can relate to having to catch up with all the posts! Lol! It has been very active since August started!
@nstephenson01 I feel the same way about July. You have come so far AND are so close to your goal! I love your August goals. I have zero interest in becoming vegetarian but I do like your idea of having a few vegetarian days. I would actually enjoy that. I am always learning on this team . So sad about your neighbor. I assume with where you live being somewhat remote and her husband being sick, I am sure she will appreciate you checking in once in a while. What is up with your shoulder? What a loss you had! You were #1 out of the entire challenge for percentage loss! Awesome job!
@amytriesww What a great start you have had to August! I love how you just jumped right in with us! You are an awesome addition to our team! You really have a lot going on. Don't feel you have to comment on everything. Just try checking in just for yourself, especially when you are trying to get back into the back to school groove. How awesome that you are getting a degree! It is much harder when you are older and have other responsibilities. You should be proud of yourself!
@lenka Congratulations! How exciting! I hope you still check in with updates. We are going to miss you! I love what you wrote about our team too
@Moarrein I really enjoyed reading your intro. I like how you really did put a stop to weight gain when you said you were and you have gotten in such great shape with all the exercise you do! I also forgot how close you are to your goal weight. You really turned your life around! I am sorry you have been sick so long, hope you are feeling better soon!
@ljdanny Sounds like you are enjoying your vacation! We will both need to hit the reset button. Sounds like you have been doing well though and keeping up with exercising and not indulging as much as you would have. How exciting that you have a wedding and another grandchild coming in February!! My children just got puppies, no talk of grandchildren yet for me. My one daughter is stressed with the puppy sometimes so maybe it is a good thing Lol!
@jedaschultz I am with you. Time to get back on track after our vacations! We can do this!
@twyla77 I love the pic of you and the horse. I am not sure what a stampede is-I always thought that was when the horses were charging at you! You have been doing so well with checking in and hitting your daily goals! I am not sure whose job I want more-yours or @carlsoda Lol! You have such interesting and fun jobs! I think I would even try the pink lemonade beer with the glitter and I don't care for beer! For an awesome cause too! Not surprised you had a loss. You had a great week!
@mrsbell8well Sounds like you had a couple of fun weekends while I was gone! Love all the pics! You are such a busy lady that I am glad you were able to enjoy some fun time. I know you have said it before but I can not believe you are not social! You seem just the opposite to me! I read recently how important it is to be able to enjoy your own company. Apparently people can't do this. I don't mind being alone at all. I do have a big family and a lot of friends but I also do not mind being by myself either. I love that you will have 2 big goals met after this summer! I do hope some day you do write a blog, I think you would do an awesome job.
@lennoncpa Happy Birthday to you! I love that you will be spending it with your sons in NYC! I would be the same way with commenting to others if I was on my phone. I am glad you check in with us regularly! What are you doing about the nuts? Can you not have them in the house or buy the individual packets? What kind of dog does you son have? It is so cute! You live such a busy and active life! You are an inspiration! And yes, August is flying! Lol!
@gottagetthisdown How's everything going? We are here for you!
@julie8468 Hooray! You are back!!
@timibotkin I am so happy you are back! I wanted to reach out and ask you to come back but didn't want to put any pressure on you. I am glad you came back when you were ready. I remember your Dad being sick but not sure if I knew about your Mom. How are they doing now? Didn't you also work night shift a lot or are a nurse? I also remember your cute little dogs! What a year you have had! You have been through so much. I wish insurance didn't have such a say in our health care and you could have been seen earlier. It sounds like you are still getting treatment. If your doctor says he advises not to lose weight, why don't you stay with us and work on other things. Like water intake, starting back to exercising, cleaning up your eating or anything else you want to focus on . This is a great place to get support. Hugs! Glad you are getting out on your bike!
@hope002 Nice way to end a vacation with a loss on the scale! How lucky you are to have that trail so close to your house! So beautiful! I love your walking companion too! Nice job at the wedding. Don't you love when you rack up a ton of steps for the next day before you go to sleep?
@DananaNanas I had to look up where your dogs' names were from. Lol! My sons would kill me. My son actually went to the same high school that the actor who plays Mac went (St Joe's prep) they filmed an episode there. It sounds like you have a lot of motivation to get and stay on track this month. That dress sounds beautiful, perfect for a wedding in September. AND get to that gym! You are right, that was expensive AF! I remember when you were trying to decide if you were going to join or not. Why don't you start doing baby steps. Just start going to the gym for 15-20 min to get into a habit and slowly increase your time. You can do this my friend!
@McKay85 Hope you had a great vacation! I did so now it is time for us to get back to work!
@pacsnc6 What a busy week you had! My one son failed his driving test for the opposite reason-he sped! What the heck?! Needless to say, I was happy he failed. He did get better at it and drives for Uber now Lol!
@holmesp603 There are a few of us just getting back from vacation. Take some time an make a plan. If you go back in the posts, @cyndiesstuff has an awesome post with the 4 circles. That would be a good place to start. It is a big post with a diagram on page 3.
@GingerPwr Hooray! We would love to have you back! We will need a weigh in day and a starting weight when it gets closer. We have missed you!

Thanks @sleepymom5 I hope you are getting in top of things and that things aren't getting on top of you so much.
I have had a couple of shakey days. There has been unwanted cheesecake and I have felt honour bound to adopt it and give it a loving home. I actually took it home and shared it with my family rather than eat it all myself so that is progress. the key thing i realised is that I have been running into my day with out a plan, logging or reviewing. So time to get back to it before two days becomes three. It also been my TOM and I am feeling bloated and emotional. I am used to self medicating with chocolate. This is where I need to figure out my self care and what to do to make myself feel better without food or as this is a regular occurance I could just give myself a chocolate budget. Although my thought is it is probably not good psychologically to use chocolate as medicine.
Todays plan:
salmon omelette
jacket potato green leafies garlic and herb dressing cous-cous lentil and sweet potato mix
spaghetti bologanese
intention
To say not to the Biscuit (cookie) jar
figure out what self love means in the moment (say yes to controlled eating and better bloody sugar)
log log log
