    MAJOR NSV!!!!!

I just looked at my Fitbit heart rate monitor.
My resting heart rate has dropped 17 beats per minute from its all time highest.

My range has improved from Poor- Fair to Fair- Average. Hoping Average-Good is around the corner.

I am astonished at the heart rate drop!!!!

No doing so great on my targets. Not managed any strength training this week. thrown a curveball last night and took a 9 hour round trip taking my son to Uni so exercise plan and meal plan for Thursday / Friday out. How are you dong @171lake ?

Not the best last week, but keeping goals in week 2 as well. I had too many outside activities last week.

    1. Lose 4 lbs in August (3.5 lbs to go)
    2. Drink 72 oz a day (5 of 7 days)
    3. Exercise 60 minutes a day (3 of 7 days)
    4. Add strength training/body weight exercises (new goal is 3 barre classes a week)
    5. Limit drinking to less than 5 a week (10 last week, because of music festival)

The last month or so has been a lot easier to make sure I am eating right and drinking right at work..however, effective tomorrow I will be training instead of just assisting with training until the 22nd then again in September :(

This will be the biggest challenge for me since I set my mind to doing better for my health.
I drink less (can't be running to the restroom while trying to train) and don't have time to snack when I am training. It is typically harder for me to log daily (I forget as I don't enter it as I eat or drink).

My goals for the next 7 working days:
Drink drink drink....Refill my bottles at least twice a day
    Still have my snack
Make time to sit and eat lunch instead of eating it on the run
    No fast food!
    De-stress nightly

Great day today. I got three 17- 20 minute walks in today. I didn’t get to the pool again. I have to go the next 3 days as I am getting my hair done Saturday and I am not putting my head in the water. Stayed within my calories, so no binges. I have decided Sunday that I will go over my calories a bit. We are celebrating my sons and granddaughters birthdays. We are having 2 cakes and a bbq. I am going to try and get 2 longer walks in that day to give me some extra exercise calories.

    Yesterday’s steps: 10,374

@LovebyDraug69 love those goals! Maybe you you could have a small notebook to jot down what you eat at work and enter it in your diary when you get home.

@171lake glad you are going to continue with your goals with some updates. Barre classes sound interesting.

@ngk2000 set some new goals and keep working towards them

@Beka3695 that is awesome! Heart health is so important.

New day, same story. I bought a multi-pack of 4 bounty bars and ate a multi-pack of 4 bounty bars. I barely stopped for breath between each one.

Anyway I have changed my step counter as my last one was been ridiculously generous and giving me steps whilst I was sat in a chair. My new one has a start/stop function so I will only use it when I am actually exercise walking and not around the office or house.

UGH! I have the munchies today! Still hungry after a snack AND lunch.
I have been eating a quite a deficit for several days. I think a bulkier dinner might be in order tonight.

Happy with this as the last week has been hectic as heck and I wasn't successful at meeting my goals for steps, workouts, calories...

I have a long weekend trip coming up then things should settle back to normal next week. Hopefully. 🙂

Congrats to everyone on their success!

@TheMrWobbly, I totally understand the Bounty Bar situation. Several weeks ago, I bought 8 packs (16 half-pint tubs) of Chilly Cow ice cream. I had intended to stretch them out over a 3 week period, but NO, I ate them all in 6-7 days. This is such a learning process for me. Most people are either 'moderators' or 'abstainers'. Some people eat everything in moderation, however, other people must abstain from 'trigger' foods. Moderators feel stifled if told to eliminate certain foods from their diets. Abstainers feel uncomfortable with certain foods in their presence. We are what we are and I have learned that I am an abstainer. So for now, I abstain from certain foods. Will I need to do that forever? I don't know. But I am prepared to do so if that is the case. Today, I bought 1 pack of Chilly Cow ice cream for my grocery shopping treat. And I won't be at all surprised if I eat both 1/2 pint tubs today. Actually, I will plan that into my food diary and enjoy them both immensely!

I looked for the excellent post I read recently about moderators versus abstainers, but cannot locate it. I did find this older definition:

    * Moderators: find that occasional indulgence heightens their pleasure (while strengthening their resolve), and they get panicky at the thought of “never” getting or doing something.

*Abstainers: have trouble stopping something once they’ve started, but aren’t tempted by things that they’ve decided are off-limits (or are tempted less).

Thanks @pjshawley I'll try and find more myself. I generally pass on things I know I will just eat, I think I knew I was going to eat them all - just decided I was going to. I was low on sleep, who knows - just a poor choice.

This is an excellent explanation I hadn’t heard before but resonates with me. I’m an abstainer too - it is easier for me to draw a hard line putting something out of bounds than for me to have it in my house as a sometimes food, as I will overindulge.

I have done well these past 7 months having put everything “bad” out of bounds for most of it. Around my daughter’s birthday there were a few exceptions for cake, and a few times I’ve make healthier versions of peanut butter cups (70% dark chocolate, coconut oil, pure peanut butter, ground flax, sunflower seeds, almond) which i was doing a pretty good of moderating on, but it reintroduced chocolate to my household and when I was too busy to make the peanut butter cups I started having one or two pieces of chocolate... at first moderation was working after such a long break, but slowly it started to increase to 4 pieces, 6 pieces, 8 pieces... so now I’ve switched to Sweet William and another brand of sugar free chocolate which has fewer carbs so it does less damage, but i am not good at stopping at one serving size (2-3pieces)... the fall back into old patterns!
