@Fitness327wk * Take the Three Min Test was a super helpful trick to me today---THANK YOU--- on a fast and wanted everything in sight....stopping and thinking and I put my Apple Watch timer on and made myself wait 3 minutes--- by the time it went off I was distracted and doing something else and realized I never needed it.

Hopeful that I can make this stick throughout the weekend---my most tempting time of the week.

That is awesome! I like the idea of using a timer. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    Oct 2 HELLO October! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

    Trick or Treat! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚

So mind over matter isnโ€™t working?!! What do I do now?

    Letโ€™s Go Back in time....

Cut back on calories by learning to snack like a preschooler, says Goodson. "Many people get in trouble with snacking because they eat too much. So trick your mind into eating less by portioning your snacks in small baggies. This helps you feel as if you're eating 'all' of something, which satisfies your brain." Ideally, break out portion sizes of chips, snacks, and other goodies as soon as you bring them home from the store so you're not tempted to dip your hand in the entire 10-serving container. To further avoid temptation, keep the portioned snacks out of sight hidden in a cupboard.

How can we help trick our mind? Letโ€™s share friends!

Today, I knew I would be tempted by goodies!!! So, I packed my snacks (portioned)! Fugi apple, pretzels and string cheese ๐Ÿง€ please! Worked so far today!! Passed the goodies they were handing out at tournament today!

    Have a great day! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    Oct 3 ~ HELLO October! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

    Trick or Treat! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚

    Trick!!
One thing that definitely helps me to control portions is a smaller plate!

A recent study published in the Journal of Consumer Research has discovered ways that your mind tricks you into eating more (or less) without you knowing it. If you're looking to shed a few pounds, then understanding these insights could offer a painless way to do it.

    1. Let Your Plate Control Your Portion
When it comes to eating less, researchers have long known that a simple way to cut calories is to use a smaller plate. In one experiment, conducted by Brian Wansink from Cornell University and Koert van Ittersum from the Georgia Institute of Technology, it was discovered that a shift from 12โ€“inch plates to 10โ€“inch plates resulted in a 22% decrease in calories.

I am focused today on watching my portions. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

A trick I use is that in addition to using smaller plates I try to make it look like I have a lot of food. For example I cut my apple into slices rather than leaving it whole or I take my lunch meat with one slice of cheese and divide it into two cheese and meat rolls. Itโ€™s all the same calories, but it looks like my plate is overflowing.

Thank you @ConfidentRaven and @fintness327wk --- I like these ideas.... I do use a salad plate for dinner while my family uses a dinner plate (they make fun of me for using the "tiny plate"๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜†)--but it does work! Keeps me from overloaded like I used to.

    GREAT IDEA.....

THIS IS GOING TO SOUND FUNNY TO SOME OF YOU, BUT I USE A COMPARTMENT PLATE IT HAS SECTION WHICH ALLOWS ME TO NOT ONLY BE PORTION CONTROL CONSCIOUS, BUT ALSO CALORIE CONSCIOUS...SMALLER PORTIONS LESS CALORIES... IT'S A WIN WIN
