    @cayenne_007 and @weatherking2019 : NORMALCY! That's indeed what I long for also.
I hope you get your appointments in and can enjoy some pampering and socialising. We humans just need that.

My color hair appt was back in April but that was cancelled. I have been doing my own mani (I bought a light years ago) gel sets using just clear as my technique is not the best but I like the gel strength. Pedi, I ended up buying a little foot spa because I get a lot of calluses on my feet from running etc and really need a good soak. Painting toenails again out side the lines for sure but after a day or two of showers those tend to rub off. What I miss is the pampering tho.

I am supposed to have an appt tomorrow mid day with my little hair gal who straightens my hair. It's been months and altho I can flat iron some she does it and it stays for a week! She texted me yesterday and I am happy to hear they are taking all precautions (temp / little questionaire / cleaning etc / masks) but it's funny because the biggest part of the appt is the blow dry and flat iron and my regular color stylist says she is not allowed to blow dry yet. Interesting. Most exciting part of tomorrow's appt. GETTING MY BANGS CUT!!!

Anyway I have not been back in to work yet but the ones there are wearing masks and doing all the protective measures. They have had a few cases but also did all the contact tracing and nothing has spiraled out of control thank goodness (we are a manufacturing location). It is possible that they will want us to start coming back in to the office in June altho a friend who works for the state was told they will be remote until the end of Aug. The only thing that bothers me is that we have tho huge open office layouts so even with masks you are sitting close to a large group of folks for many hours each day. So... maybe they will allow us to stay remote for a while longer. I am torn as I miss the "normalcy" of going in to the office but I certainly don't want to get sick.

I have started getting my lashes done again (don't judge but my one really really pampering thing) and I had to ASK the lady there to wear a mask. I felt badly but I have learned that you sometimes have to be a bit vocal about things now and she was actually ok with wearing it once I asked.

Yall have a good holiday today.

Hope everyone had a FABULOUS holiday weekend! I know I sure needed it, it was great to get a mental reset and not feel insanely rushed trying to get everything done. We spent most of it outdoors and had a cookout Sunday night with some family & friends - so nice to make things feel a bit normal again.

@weatherking2019 - I'm so jealous of you getting a mani/pedi! ARGH! I'm about to do my own toes and I have always gotten pedis since I was in my late 20s. It's one of my few indulgences.

@SummerSkier - I bet it was great to get your hair done! I have crazy curly hair so I can appreciate how nice it is to have it professionally done.... if there was a good place locally to get my lashes done, I'd do it but I LOVE the magnetic Tori Belle ones. I probably wear them 4-5 days a week...in the dirt at the barn and my hats - but I need something girlie!!

    Ah! Missed you ladies!!!

@SummerSkier, let's see your new do! Bangs is great for a week then it starts bothering me-lol
I guess it grows fast and I don't have enough forehead :D

@cayenne_007, you like those magnetic lashes? I see the ads all the time but never tried it. I bought those lash serums but I don't think it did anything. Just got suckered in :#

@Antiopelle, Yes Thank you! Had a good time chatting away with my Vietnamese lady getting my nails done. I feel like an adult again with proper nails!

@theycallmewy, Hi! Nice to meet you! Good luck with the back exercise! Just keep working and one day, it's like hey! I have no rolls under my shirt!!!

PS I am so spoiled by my lashes. I only use eyeliner for makeup on my eyes now and if your eyes water well... no biggie and no raccoon face. Ive been doing it for years and it doesn't seem to have hurt my natural stubby little lashes...

Looks great @SummerSkier ! I got my lashes dyed and curled before a vacation once, after a friend recommended someone. I LOVED it! We moved after that vacation and I got them done in our new city and the girl burned my eyelids. They hurt so bad and had scabs for a week. She also curled one weird and it looked so bad that I was embarrassed to leave my house for a month. Every brand mascara I have tried always ends up under my eyes though, and I loved the first experience so much that I’m considering trying to find someone again.

@CORA0477 you should try eyelash extensions. They can customize exactly how you want. I do go in for touchups every 3 weeks for about 30 minutes but it is SO worth it compared to fussing with anything else. Been doing it for years. When I lost them all in April I felt like a pig eyed mess.

These are the magnetic ones after barn chores.. one swipe of eyeliner, let it dry while I get dressed & pop them on. I wear anchors on the inner & outter edges. Run horses 🐎, ride atvs, sweat like crazy... so far, they’ve survived. I can wear a pair 25+ times, I clean the magnets nightly. I bought some off amazon, it was a disaster. I buy these from a friend - they’re Tori Belle. I MUST have at least mascara, my eyelashes are light.

There’s really no where near me to get the extensions done, it’s bad enough trying to find somewhere decent for a pedi.

Trying to look somewhat girlie while living like a complete tomboy = story of my life.

Now I wanna try too!! @cayenne_007, that's a LOT of lashes! Does it feel heavy??
I have your typical Asian hooded eyes. Do you think it would work??

My eyes do that also. I have never been good with the magnetic or strip lashes. I end up with them halfway to my brows is seems or half falling off. Cayenne is REALLY talented putting those on but they would be too long and heavy for me. I like them a little less. Well old lady can't get away with too much. ;)

Hahahaha! @SummerSkier - If you only knew how many times I've stuck a mascara wand in my eye as I'm tryin to hustle out the door to work. I'm freakin AWFUL with makeup, can't contour or do much of anything... They have a lash that I tried today called 9-5, much less dramatic. I think it's my new fav.

I tried the 'Reign Lashes' when everyone swore by them - they were sooo heavy & stiff. All I could think about when I wore them out for a fancy dinner was getting the damn things off....just couldn't do it. They were awful. These are soft, and I don't notice them. I find that the older I get, the less I care what anyone else thinks - I have a tendency to wear red lipstick and my lashes everywhere.

Things are opening up as of today! I'm plotting a date night asap (right after I get a pedi)!!

I started swimming after work when there's no kids in there. It's so relaxing! I wonder how much I have to swim to get a workout equivalent to half hour of running??

I was just thinking about swimming also. I did a bike ride this weekend and altho it burned more (less steps) than a walk it was not really very aerobic for me. I know it can be for hard core bikers so it's just my little neighborhood rides are not extremely hard. But the thing I like to remember is that swimming or any other "alternate" exercise is going to work different muscles and help with different things. It is SO easy on the joints compared to running and the breathing workout is pretty intense.

This is my first time with any health app. I joined Noom at the same time, though I'm looking to build muscle and not loose weight. Anyone else have Noom experience? I find it motivating, but kinda lacking for my personal goals/needs, though I have been able to apply the psych tricks to other areas of my life.

Hope y'all are doing well. Let me know if you have any MFP tips for a noob. Thanks!
