So I had the stress test and it came back with "some sort of circulation issue". Now being referred for a thallium stress test and to a different cardiologist from the one who did the original stress test. I feel like I am in a musical chairs game.

In the meantime, I have been told no more HIIT. A couple of weeks ago my GP had told me it would be ok at 140 bpm but my intuition said not to do it. He is a great GP but I just had my doubts.

All you younger people you are so smart to be dealing with this now! Keep working on getting healthier.

Yesterday was frustrating, my hot water heater still isn't fixed... :( But I got home and decided I was going to leave the hubby to deal with it, and I would just accept what he decides, so I went and I did my video, put the 1st one in, and it kinda annoyed me, so I went with the one I normally do, but I after the 3rd interval, I was just so not feeling it, so I took it down a notch, still did all the moves, just without the normal vigor... Normally I get home eat dinner, do house stuff for an hour, then exercise, but last night with the hubby dealing with the plumber I didn't want to start dinner till he left, so I reversed it, and I think 45 minutes of aerobics needs more energy than I had in me before dinner... But I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, lol. It was a quick one, we split a Digiorno Thin Crust Pepperoni and peppers pizza, and I cut up a potato and made fries in the air fryer...

Ugh, that reminds me I forgot to take the sausage out for tonights dinner...
I did yoga this morning, and my abs are sore, so the pilates did it's job yesterday, I think I am going to alternate Pilates and yoga for my morning workouts..

I am starting to work on my Ireland trip a little more, and think about what I should pack, I don't want to take my large suitcase, I want to only take my medium one, we are doing 1 night in Dublin, 4 nights in Killarney, and 3 nights in Adare.. I can do laundry while I am there, and I don't have any problem wearing the same jeans a few days, my problem is SHOES, I am a shoe *kitten*.. I will change my shoes 3 times in a day. the concept of 2 pairs of shoes for 10 days worries me... and I know they need to be broken in, so I need to get them asap.. So I am thinking a pair of waterproof hiking but lightweight shoes, and a pair of comfy walkable all day ankle boots, that can be worn with jeans, and a pair of leggings... Is that what you would take ? We will be going on hikes and such, but also out for nice dinners...
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is sore from the last couple of days of Pilates and other exercise! I slacked off a lot last week and mostly did walking, so this week I'm really feeling all the muscles. Ooff. But it is a GOOD pain, right??

Shoes - a tough one. I usually pack a really light pair of shoes, alternating Innov8 and Under Armour - I love them both. They take up almost no room in a suitcase and are great for both walking and going out. And then I usually travel in a more robust pair of hiking shoes that are well broken in and comfy. I have to be really careful about footwear because of neuromas and other annoying foot problems. A few years ago, my trainer suggested "zero drop" shoes - absolutely no height difference between toe and heel - to help with balance and allow the foot to carry more weight on the heel than the toe. Also they should be (for me) really flexible. I will never look back! I love the feeling of shoes that make my feet feel like paws. And it is true that they help a lot with balance.

In any case, the choice of shoes for any trip is a tough one - but this is the combo that works well for me. I walk tons when I travel, and refuse to be uncomfortable.

    Today was a bad day.

Hope today is going better - drink some water often and let it cool down the badness. Hugs to you!

I am having a rough week. I didn't meal prep on Sunday due to hosting a Super Bowl party. I have been eating a lot of carbs, which have left me feeling tired. Due to my lack of energy, I haven't been working out or cleaning my house. This has left me feeling stressed and wanting to eat....more carbs!!!

It is horrible when that cycle keeps hitting "repeat" - it is a tough one. Try to have just one perfect day. Plan it, pre-log it, eat and exercise moderately (no extremes!!!) and the pattern might break. I often find that just one day that I'm really serious about getting out of the bad place can have a big effect. Be sure to eat enough though! Balance so that you have plenty of energy. Good luck!!!

Lol thank you for the water reminders! I had half a bottle just now.

I decided that I need healthy, not-weight related goals, so we signed up for this:

    xu3ag1dadk4k.jpg

It looks like fun, and I have 4 months to get into good enough shape to have maximum fun.

I need stuff to look forward to and goals to try for in order to be happy, I realized. Life is too stressful to not have excitement. Numbers on a scale are nice, but not exciting and not controllable. Old me would never do this kind of thing, but the me I am trying to create might love it. I will find out by trying.

Three cheers (and four glasses of water) for new you! This sounds like absolutely maximum fun. I just looked it up, and they are happening all across Canada. I might drag some friends to the one in Ottawa! This could be hilarious. I hope the foam is made of something healthy :grimace:

Thank you! It does look hilarious. I assume the foam is some sort of natural soap but I'm not totally sure.

I hear it gets pretty darn slippery as the day goes on.

@Terytha and @jugar We have had those come through Greensboro as well. I always wanted to do it too. Looks like a blast. I think the last one was cancelled because of weather. I've have to look it up and see if I can get anyone I know to do this with me. My two former colleagues probably would. My not quite daughter in law definitely would! I'll let you know if I find one.

@KellyBgetsfit Hope you feel like you are in your happy place soon. It is so hard to be out of the groove and know it. Today has been chock full of crazy storms and tornado warnings here in North Carolina and I have come to the realization that days like this make me a very sloppy eater/logger. I think as we grow on our journey, we just have to acknowledge where we are, forgive ourself for the past, and take one small step to get yourself back on track. I know I often find the motivation/inspiration I need by coming here on our thread or browsing through challenges and other threads. Here's hoping your day and planning and logging get back on track. Sending positive energy to you.

@Gidgitgoescrazy and @jugar I am feeling my muscles too.

@Terytha I'm sure you've heard this before, but my husband & I have a glass (12oz) of water as soon as we wake up.  I don't drink before a run, but I will before & after a bike ride; if it's over an hour, I'll drink in the middle.  I have soup for lunch, and I'll add extra water to it.  Tea & watery fruits & veg count also.  I hope these ideas help a bit.

Need to clean this *kitten* up.

Hiya ladies! Thank you for all your well wishes. I've spent more time awake today than asleep and I've halved the daily dosage of pain killers so hopefully will be a bit more mobile in the next few days.

0 steps today. Tracking my meals and calories but exercise will have to take aback burner for now

Let's see how updated we can be by close of day tomorrow. I'll be on my way to Alberta on Saturday morning, but will make my way to Montreal tomorrow afternoon to be all ready for an early take off on Saturday. I'll be near @Terytha and @fourathomej - anyone else out there? I am looking forward to a week with my daughter. Except she'll make me do PT with the army people. I'll probably die. Then I'll eat with the army people. That could be fatal too!! But there are horses and cats, so all will be well.

It has been a quiet day for exercise so far - just a good Pilates session, and a lot of thinking and planning. Does that count? I'm sure it burns something, if not calories. I did not go outside at all today, which is weird for me. I'll be out on the snowshoes in the morning (after all night snow!!) before hopping on the bus.

Catch up with the leaping groundhogs challenge if you can! I have been collating the answers every evening, and it is quite wonderful to hear the different perspectives and ideas on the questions so far. More to come!

We had a snow day for school today! It made the whole afternoon feel like a bit of a vacation.
I took a nap, did some homework, then had supper - an extra serving which made the carbs go a little nuts. I’m used to being a bit under in those. Back to better serving sizes tomorrow!
I’ll catch up on the question, too. I lost track of where they’re located.
    G’night.

Well, Thursday is just about over and it’s STILL raining. My comments today were jumping in and out as I was multitasking and keeping a toddler occupied. I almost called today a no log day, but I started filling in my log and it wasn’t so hard. I was still under. My daughter and family left at 8pm after dinner and I still hadn’t exercised, but I got on my stationary bike and pedaled for 33 minutes. And because no steps are picked up, I had to do a little work to get over my 8,500 goal. Plus my Fitbit was charging for a few hours. Anyway, I would call that progress. One thing I am a bit concerned about is that my weight has been up for the last few days. I know fluctuations are normal, but I really don’t want to wipe out January’s progress. I want February to be all green too. No gains. We’ll see.

Also, did a little research on hydration today. Hoping to post something on that soon.

    Safe travels @jugar.

@Gidgitgoescrazy @Pearl4686 You know some weeks are like that. Just a blip. It could be anything or even the weather. Have you been drinking your water💦 ? Logging everything? Have you been weighing your food? Sometimes our portions grow when we are not putting them on the scale. Have you measured yourself lately? When the weight doesn’t move the way we want, our body is rearranging. You may be losing inches.

In any case, you are so right! Keep at it. Be patient. Don’t let this get in your way. You’ve got this. ❤️💫✨

    Happy Friday!
We're having a great ice and snow storm today - ice all last night, snow all day today. It's coming down to beat the band. I wish I were staying here to get out there on the snowshoes for the next few days! But it will be great to see my daughter. We talk often, but that just isn't the same thing as hanging out.

So far this week as a team we are holding steady. Not much gain or loss - it seems to be balancing out. We are maintaining, which, in my mind, is kind of what winter is about. That said, some of you are doing a great job on the steady losses - balancing out the rest - thanks!

    @evelynladams527 and anyone else -
If you're looking for the February daily questions - here is the page with today's, and you can go from there:
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10783307/leaping-groundhogs-the-02-2020-questions-challenge/p7

Or any time, just go to the F2F landing page (click on the link under all the messages, or at the top of the page where the logo is). It is under "Announcements" and is called the Leaping Groundhog Challenge. Silly, but I was in one of those moods...

I have a feeling I will be a maintainer this week.. But ok by me.

It is snowing a relative ton in Toronto right now. Going to put the parka on and go out for a hair cut. I think Yonge Street should be cleared so should be able to walk a few blocks. Then I am going to do some "running on the spot" with Pahla B on Youtube. She is pretty hilarious and quite cute.
