@theresamcvean I am sorry for your loss.

    daily check in
yesterday and friday was terrible foodwise. I had a bad day at work on Friday. I bought in some hygiene measures in my classrooms but they weren't carried out properly and this has resulted in 3 of my laptops getting broken. they are new and less than 1 month old. I also lost £1000s worth of bookings cancelling. I am having to tell staff they haven't got work and worrying about the future of the museum as all most of our income comes from visitors. I find myself thinking. "yesterday was rough, i can't see it getting any better".

There is hope I need to get to a place where i can find it. I am changinng my training plan so that I can avoid big crowds. I also think the gym is a bit of a germ soup so i am going to limit my gym time.

Anway time to pick myself up and refocus.

Well our Prime Minister acted - you have 2.5 hours left to enter New Zealand without having to go into 14 day self-isolation. Cruise ships are banned from docking and our border is effectively closed to all countries with the new isolation rule. Most of our large gatherings of people - festivals, sports, concerts etc have all been canceled, and we are expecting bans on the number of people allowed at any gathering. No more than 500 is being suggested.

We have 6 confirmed cases of Covid 19 with a few others waiting tests results. I'm a little worried about the implications of this on my workplace, global financial implications are not fun to follow through in "what if" scenarios like this!

So the global picture is *kitten* right now, and I can't do anything about that. Worrying about it doesn't change my accountability for my day to day actions. And what I can do is focus on my own goals. No excuses means no excuses. If this virus comes anywhere near me, I am damn sure going to be as healthy as possible when it does.

Today's exercise was a 16km bike ride, calories tracked and under. Water was a lot. Finished the day with 6794 steps, it's down because my bike won't count steps when I'm riding.

I will try and find time to comment tomorrow, but if anyone is worried about going to the gym and/or wants some ideas about what exercise to do at home, sing out. I used to be a personal trainer and I am always happy to give suggestions. 🙂

The video of the Italians singing was so moving. It made me tear up.

Yes, it sad that most churches have cancelled services but is understandable. I'm sorry yours is cancelled also. You are right, prayer and faith is what is going to get everyone through this, even though it's all hard to understand. I'm not Catholic but go to a Reformed church. I'm glad that we have the internet so we can still have service virtually. Also, there are many televised services as well, for people like my dad, who don't have internet. My aunt, dad's sister, lives in the Netherlands. I texted her yesterday. She said her church is still holding service but only for younger people with the restriction that they have to leave open seats in front, behind and to each side of them. My aunt has access to the internet and will be watching it online.

I hope your son will still be able to be confirmed but even if it gets postponed or cancelled he sounds like he's already living out his faith by helping out where he can.

Dogs are a lot of fun, even with me not having one.
I did get a lot of exercise in, kind of made up for my rest day on Friday and just a short walk on Thursday.😉
I'm glad I checked that pallet too.

@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I have been trying to skim through posts. I had to go back and reread your post about your sugar addiction and changes you made. Your post was so inspiring. I have thought about it these last few days. Thanks for sharing! I too love your tats and am glad your on this team!

I’m right back at that pivotal point that I will gain it all back or stop and return to goal. My wardrobe has been purged and I refuse to buy up a size. So back down to my happy place.
Today I will go grocery shopping and prepare for healthy meals.
I will also calendar our 5 walks this week.
Yesterday I was able to relax. It really helps.

I didn’t get near as many steps in this week. I haven’t been feeling the greatest. I’m not sure if it’s from my new meds or what, but all I want to do is sleep. And I’ve been a little nauseas. I wasn’t expecting a loss at all this week, so I was surprised at the scale.

@pacsnc6 I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hearing those words definitely throws your entire world into a tailspin. If you ever need someone to just listen let me know!

Been a busy few days. My sons surgery went well. The dr said good thing they did it now, when he got in there he noticed a bone spur that was rubbing and ready to rupture. So hopefully this helps him. If it was a nice day I could have went for a walk while waiting because we were right across the street from a 5 mile trail. So I have low steps for Friday.

All shelves are empty at the stores, its ridiculous. I just need milk but can't get any, maybe today. My sons girlfriend works at a hotel and her hours have been cut because everyone is cancelling their trips. All schools are cancelled and moved to remote learning. I work in child care, we will only shut down if told to. We are closed tomorrow for a teacher workshop which is now all about the virus. I went over to zumba today and there was a sign on the gym doors that classes are cancelled today. It would have been nice if they posted it online. I came home and went for a walk. I dont like being stuck on a treadmill if I dont have too.

    Weekly total steps: 82,886

    S: 11,756
    M: 11,912
    T: 12,932
    W: 9,283
    T: 10,423
    F: 9080
    S: 17,500

These are my exact numbers from Samsung Health/Samsung Galaxy Watch.

I'm pretty happy with the nice rounded number yesterday lol, entirely accidental to end up on the 500. Hubby and I went for a 9km walk which really put both of our step counts up, I really felt it when I got back though!

Today we went out on a bike ride, which burnt plenty of calories but didn't count steps so today won't be very high. Really nice to be on the bike in the sun.

@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I'm not sure if this would count in the step challenge, but here is a chart for converting activities to steps: https://www.ucalgary.ca/woww/files/woww/2015getmovingconversion.pdf I've also heard of people wearing the activity tracker on their ankle. Can't say what the accuracy would be if you're sitting and cycling but for a good out-of-your seat, uphill climb, it should count.

Molly snapped this lovely spring photo in our front yard. The most beautiful time of year!

I've only been here a short time and distracted most of it, but you have been a big help to me sharing your lifestyle changes and, well, your life period.

You inspired me to go out and buy some nice notebooks and washi tape to make a dream board and do some fun goal setting pages. I already had hundreds of coloured pens, pencils, highlighters. Now I've got everything I need and, thanks to the coronavirus measures, time to do it.

Your pictures truly are a window into your world. This one is just lovely. Is that an apple tree? I have a cherry tree out back that will bloom mid-May. Every year I wonder if it will really happen, especially years when the winter is harsh. Spring is a miraculous time and you've captured that here.

Your place settings and the care you take preparing your meals will serve you well in your maintenance phase. Homemade meals are healthier. But more than that, I find that the more time I take in preparing a meal, the less I need to eat. Somehow experiencing the food, the shopping, reading or creating recipes, washing, prepping, and the aromas preparing it satisfy the appetite.

I'm so glad you've decided to stay in the group. It's time for us to support you.

So, my intention for today will be to:
    - Walk the dog two times
    - Record everything I eat even if I go over
    - Get to 8,000 steps
    - Drink 10 cups of water

    Results yesterday:
-Two walks. For one of them, I brought flowers to my neighbour who had surgery. Didn't go in because of social distancing but took her dog with mine for a longer walk. The dogs were so happy.
    - I did record everything I ate and was over according to MFP calorie goal but under my Fitbit calories burned. I lost 0.8 pounds on my Fitbit scale this morning so inching my way out of this slump.
    - Got to 8,145 steps. Had to run on the spot before sitting down to watch Pandemic on Netflix.
    - Drank 10 cups of water. Many in the form of organic, caffeine-free STASH Gold Cup Chai. It's not black chai, it has turmeric.

    Good morning everyone,

We are in full social distancing mode here in Toronto. Grocery shops and restaurants are still open, but all of the major stuff is shut down and other stores are limiting their hours. We have so many great independent shops in my neighbourhood and we are trying to shop locally as it will be hard for many of them to stay afloat during all of this. So like many of you, I had a hard time not being anxious. Yesterday was just off plan on everything. A bit off my food plan, less water and ok steps but no workout. I am just too distracted and also trying to cook and get things ready for a long time with the kids home. My son asked me to bake his favorite cake yesterday, which was very sweet and I think he needed some reassurance. So I dropped everything and did that. The cake was delicious and it is definitely how I got off plan! I am trying to refocus and get back on track today. Just going to do baby steps to get there. Will post a photo of the cake in another post.

@kirsten11872 - I am so sorry that you are in this funk and you are definitely not alone. It is hard for the brain to adjust when the situation just keeps changing. I hope that your son is doing ok. Just try to take some small steps today, I know it is not easy.

@1theresamcvean - Your post is so appropriate! Just small steps right now are the way to go! Great day yesterday too! Glad your dog liked the singing Italians!

@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - Fantastic loss and great steps this week! I have the same issue with cycling & the steps! I am not surprised about the restrictions in your country. You are right that we just need to focus on our goals. I love attitude towards the virus! If I were the virus, I would think twice about taking you on!

@tryingagain5 - Your doggie friend is so adorable! I am glad that you liked the video, but I did not mean to make you cry (although I did too). It was hard to not think of church this morning. For me personally, it is where I would go during a time like this. Same with my son’s confirmation. It is a bit hard letting go of our plans for it. But I need to focus on our blessings right now. Also faith is faith and you can be anywhere to tap into it.

@timibotkin - Nice loss and amazing steps!

@JillyBT - I am glad that your son is home now and smart move to have him pack up everything. It is very exhausting right now and it is hard not to worry. I have one of those online meditation apps as well. Same thing, I find some voices calming and others very irritating!

@Freeglerock - So nice that you could have a nice time with the kids. Hope that your husband gets home ok and thank goodness his airline is still flying. I just read about France and Spain locking down. What is your recommended source for news in the UK? I usually look at the BBC site.

@sleepymom 5 - I love your mug and your morning routine looks so cozy! I want to hear more about that crazy keto diet! Not follow it, but because we have all been there with crazy diets and I like hearing about them.

@amsandos - I am sorry that you did not have a good day. The impact of all of this on our work situations is very worrying, I know. I think it is a good time to refocus. Revising your workout routine is wise. I think it is good to avoid large groups and also gyms. They shut down the YMCAs here and other gyms until further notice. I have moved my routine indoors, but will still run or walk outside (nobody is around anyway!).

@mrsbell8well - Yummy!! Stick with us all you like for accountability, that’s what we are here for! Lovely blossoms!

@ljdanny - I am so glad that your son got through surgery ok. Really great steps this week, particularly with the surgery and all. Hope that everything goes ok at work.

@lennoncpa - Oh my those photos. That dog rescue does such amazing work, and just amazing that you are a part of it!

This week isn't going to by a typical week for most of us but most of this still applies. Let's prepare ourselves to have a good week and stay on track!

Ok...I need to get myself moving. My plans for the day-exercising, cleaning and planning my food for the week. I guess I might as well start spring cleaning since I am going to be in anyway. I also have a ton of projects to do so I need to take advantage of this time. Hope all of you have a great day.

Congratulations to @Freeglerock,@hope002 and @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in our weekly weight challenge!

@JillyBT I didn't see your steps for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I looked back so sorry if I missed them.
@Freeglerock I was going to say that it must be nice to be able to walk to the store and then I realized..I can too! Lol! I should do that when I don't have a big order to get. Sounds like you had a productive and still fun day for the kiddos. :) I hope your partner still had fun on his trip even though things were closed. Sometimes it is just fun hanging with your friends.
@amsandos Hopefully the computers are still under warranty or maybe not too expensive to fix. It is such a hard situation for many people, we do need to stay in and close but we still need to work and make money to stay afloat and pay bills. Good idea to stay away from the gym. I know at this point you know what you are doing and can make up a good routine.
Many of us are thrown off of our healthy plans with all that is going on. Let's just make an extra effort to get back on track!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Looks like we are all in the same boat all over the world. It is scary, especially since this is so new and there is so many unknowns. It also effects so many things besides health mostly financial as you pointed out. However, as you said, worrying should change our accountability to ourselves and our goals. I keep getting so distracted by this all and basically am wasting my days. Thanks for the offer to help with suggestions to work out, I think people will take you up on that. Sounds like you are doing awesome with exercise and your food and water. You are very inspiring!
@Mrsbell8well Sounds like you are doing well. What happened with a second opinion you were getting? How is your daughter and her boyfriend feeling? Sounds like you have a good plan for going forward. Please don't push yourselves and be careful going out the the grocery store. I know you were feeling run down recently. I love all the pics, especially the two
@timibotkin Those steps are amazing! I hope you have a better week this week. I guess it just depends on how you react to the medication. Listen to your body and get rest.
@ljdanny I am glad your son's surgery went well. I hope it does help him, he has been through so much. It is crazy out there. I am not surprised that your gym closed. I don't understand why the don't post online here. I noticed that with some businesses here as well. I think they should say if they are open or closed. It was good that you went immediately for a walk. I know if I put it off, I probably would end up not going.
@1theresamcvean I am so happy that you are on our team! You are such a supportive member and we are lucky to have you! Great job yesterday! I am sure you can hit them today!
@lennoncpa. What a difference! It must be nice to be able to see how your foster doggies lives are now.
@Cafelelia That cake looks awesome! I would have never thought that the grass fed butter would change the consistency of the icing. I did great on that crazy diet but gained it all back. That one was under 20 carbs I think, 600 calories and diet pills. Did not learn a thing but restriction. I also did one that was shakes but I did learn on that, they did have a dietician and we did work a little on our minds with that. But still a super low calorie diet, no pills and a ton of restriction. I can lose weight but it comes back pretty quickly. I really need the mind work.
@CassieGetsFit2013 Wtg Cassie! Nice loss! This is week 3. We only have 4 weeks for our challenge in March. How the months are planned out for our challenge depends on what day of the week the Month ends. Have a great week!

NEWS FLASH: Something new in the spreadsheets!

You may notice that there is a new section on the spreadsheets - "Weeks in the Green".

This section will automatically track how many weeks a team member is "in the green" or loses weight - any amount. We are going to give this a try to help recognize the people who might be losing small amounts and never hit the winners list. They might lose small amounts, but they do it week after week - or at least more weeks than not.

Have a look - every week with a loss gets 1 point. At the end of March, we'll publish a list of those with a 3 or a 4 points along with all the other winners. Let's start to recognize the slow but steady people! I hope this will encourage fewer instances of someone losing a huge amount one week, and then bouncing back over the next week or two and becoming discouraged.

Please let me know if you see an problems, inaccuracies, or if you have ideas on other ways we might do this. Thanks!!

You can check it out at

    Sunday 3/15
    Food: under
    Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 20 minutes low intensity at home

I woke up at 3:15 this morning to use the bathroom and then couldn't get back to sleep. I hate when that happens. I lay in bed for almost an hour and then just got up. Did a load of laundry and after that did some meal prep. Was going to make a crockpot meal of chicken, potatoes, carrots and green beans. When I was getting the beans out they had mold on them. I just bought them on Saturday so that was disappointing. I did make the meal just without beans. I ended up forgetting to season the chicken. Oops.🙄 I also made a cold veggie dish, it's just cauliflower, broccoli, grape tomatoes and Italian dressing all mixed together. Let it marinate overnight before eating. It's simple and really good. I was going to do some more but ran out of time.

I was going to watch my church's service online but got an email that they were having some technical issues so I found my sister's church and listened to her service. My service is online now but I won't have time to listen to it until later in the week.

I took a short nap and then went to my dad's to visit with him, my sister and brother-in-law for a little while and then went home for another short nap.

We have to start work at 8:30 tonight. I won't be late since I'm sitting in the work parking lot typing this.

I know you didn't post the video to make me cry. It was just very emotional to watch.

It was hard for me not going to church as well. I almost felt lost when it would have been time to leave for the service and I had nowhere to go. You are right, faith is not the actual church building but is supposed to practiced everywhere. It is just going to be hard not to meet with the others.

I hope you decide to stay with us. You are inspiring to us.

I have thought about not being on the team as well but have also been told I should stay, not only for myself but for the others on the team. I know it is only a decision that you can make but you will be missed if you choose to leave.

Even though I can't keep up with the many posts, just knowing I can post about my day, whether good or bad helps me to do my best to stay more accountable than if I didn't do it.

    Hugs to you.
