This is my workout Wednesday photo. I have been walking my son's dog Charlie(left) as my workout lately. He is pretty strong and we go pretty quick except for a few pitstops. He has gotten me into a routine with my workouts. Today my daughter joined us so we were able to bring my dog Daisy(right) along too.

Wednesday 3/4 check in
Food: on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 15 minute speed intervals on the treadmill, 30 minute very intense session with my trainer and 30 minute walk with my walking group
I stayed for OT today and they've already told us to expect to work Friday night, it's 3rd shift's weekend so I'm not really surprised. The OT will be nice but I"ll end up sleeping most of my weekend away.
I did pretty well on the treadmill. I try to do 20 to 30 second sprints, which really aren't very fast for an actual runner, but for me it is. I know several runners at the gym, I would never be able to keep up with them.
My trainer worked me really hard today. He varies each workout with some being harder than others. Some are hard and some are harder and some are very hard.🤣 After my session I laid on the hydro massage bed and then went to my walking group. The dietitian's lesson this week was on being positive and doing some random acts of kindness. The positive part is something I needed to hear this week.
After the walk I went home to eat and then took a nap before work.
I'm really behind on reading and responding to all the posts. Hopefully I can catch up with them soon.

Hi all, I have been off work today with nerve pain/eye pain/migraine, it all kind of rolls into one. I've been asleep a lot. I don't get too many bad days and this isn't bad compared to what it used to be, but enough to bother me. No exercise, but food is on track. I just dug out a "Workout Wednesday" photo from a few months back that sums it up for me. That's me lifting weights, because I do what I can, when I can.

@amsandos I was going to recommend same as sleepymom5 - maybe a higher protein lunch or going for a brisk walk when you feel the slump coming. I find a quick walk outside tends to wake me up a bit. If you can't get out for a walk, put some high energy music on (even better if you can have a little bop to it!)1

I’ll chalk it up as a win because we got Chinese food on Sunday and I made two other meals with the leftovers, so I imagine I’m holding on to a lot of salt!
My water strategies are that I try to keep a glass or bottle everywhere (kitchen, car, upstairs), and sometimes I like to flavor it with an orange peel, cinnamon stick, cucumber slice, or apple cider vinegar (weirdly good). I’m on a water pill for BP so I’m constantly in the bathroom!2 -
Wednesday check in
Yesterday was a good one. I followed my plan, got all of my water and went for a run. It is a strike day today so while we don’t have a teen invasion, we are having a best friend invasion as both boys have their best friends over for the day. It is along day and I am a bit run off my feet already. I will try to post later and catch up with everyone. Hope that you all have a great day!2 -
A reminder that I am sure most of us can use. No matter what happens, don't beat yourself up. Learn from it and move on. Let's have a terrific Thursday! xoxo
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I hope you are feeling a little better by now. I know how debilitating your pain can be. I love your tattoo. Beautiful tattoo and message. The one on your shoulder that was in another pic was so beautiful too.
@Freeglerock Great stepping my friend! Are they for 4/3 or 4/5? I had a different number in for 4/3.
@rundgrenrocks I love Chinese food but that sodium will get you. Lol! I am like you with the water and having it everywhere. I like to take sips and not guzzle. Except the mornings, I do drink 2 glasses right away. I am in the bathroom a lot too! Lol!
@Cafelelia Good luck with having the boys and their friends today. That strike won't end soon enough for you! Have a good day!

This is how I get my water in. It may not be for everyone as I don't like my water too cold. That glass holds 16 oz. In the morning I drink 8-16 oz right away, then I have 8 between my two cups of coffee. I leave it out and I take sips though out the day. I also bring a to go cup with me when I go out. I also drink a lot when I am working out. I don't add anything to it but occasionally it is a nice treat. Water is one thing I have no problem with. It wasn't always like that though. I used to hate drinking water but slowly came around to it.3 -
Sorry team I’m struggling to keep up with posts. Hope everyone is doing well! I love being back at work but very busy.6

Just walked close to 2 hours! Had 2 dog jobs with 3 doggy's! One of them I had to walk. My knees ached pretty bad when I began then they let up some, but then my thighs got tight and felt like jello! Does anyone know of a good OTC joint med?!
I could quit pet sitting and dog walking...But there's many reasons to keep doing it. I get exercise and will get healthy, in shape and continue to lose weight. I get paid, and I get to see lots of animals which I love. So is it worth it to keep doing it?!3 -
I'm back from vacation
This is the first vacation when I did not gain weight!!!!
I skipped breakfast, ate lunch around 1, no alcohol before lunch. Dinner around 7-7:30, then no alcohol after 9pm.
On Tuesday morning, Feb 25, the day of departure I was 84kg (from 82.2 on Friday, ate a lot during the weekend and no exercise).
This morning I was back to my Friday weight - 82.2kg, so I call it maintenance, but I actually lost some weight on vacation. IF rocks!!!!!
right before vacation and right after.

Hi all,
@GingerPwr thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, it is exactly that feeling of 'what's the point, why bother' but am trying to push through! Congrats on the weight loss
@sleepymom5 it was just one meal but soooooo many calories lol! Thanks so much for the support though, am feeling more positive today. Your doggie family is adorable.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx your tattoo is gorgeous I have a necklace with that exact quote on - big Doctor Who fan here.
So, feeling a bit more positive today. Within my calories and have just been to a new Bodybalance class - it's a mix of yoga, pilates and tai chi with a wee 5 mins mediation at the end. I did quite enjoy it, have a feeling I'm going to have some aches tomorrow but figure it's good to throw a more 'toning up' class in with the cardio. My 2 week reduced gym membership ends tomorrow though so not sure what the plan is then. I'm waiting on a referral from my doctors to possibly get subsidised fees but until that comes through I'm not sure if I can afford the full price - might be Youtube vids for a bit!4 -
@sleepymom5 sorry they were for 4th March (think this side of the pond we do the day/month different to you!)0

This is probably a really weird and stupid question, but I gotta ask...
When you lose weight and you actually become slim and fit, does it hurt? I've always had this big ol' belly and I feel like once it's gone, it'll feel like...Tight, stretched and painful or something, lol. Idk why I'm thinking about this, or why I think it will hurt, but it just came to mind for some reason!0 -
Hello & Happy Friday Eve! Hope you are having a good week!
This week has been going really well! As of this morning I am down 6 pounds since Saturday! I had a rest day yesterday from my workout, but not my eating! Back to the gym tonight! Continuing my streak of on-track days! Feeling motivated, getting results!
My younger son is stressing me out again! Got a call this afternoon from his counselor, he was trying to skip tutoring again! I do not know what I am going to do with him! I still have to look for a therapist, but I know he is going to give me a very hard time! I just keep hoping & praying he will turn things around!
Step count:
3/4 - 17,370
Thanks for all the compliments on my step counts, I really try to walk as much as possible, especially that I have a desk job. Thank God the weather has been mild.
Have a wonderful rest of your day!6 -

Going in the wrong direction and I even meal prepped all week. Had my epidural shot on Monday, i think i had a little reaction to it. Today I was going to go for a walk but I got the worst cramp in my neck I'm waiting for it to pass. I didn't sleep well last night and have a slight headache.3

daily check in
food ate the plan plus 2 snack pack skittles and a fair amount of peanuts oh and unplanned chocolate
water not enough
exercise rest day
So I lovely being back at swim training with tri club. in Jan I was training on a sunday evening and while the timing was more convenient the sessions were not that great. The coach did give me two key peices of advices but the lane was packed and it was hard to build up a head of steam because everyone else was stopping at the end of the lane so I had too. Yesterday there was me and another guy in the lane he had good lane etiqueete so I could just swim and swim. It was ace plus I loved the nuturing support of the coaches who are all volunteers. the down side is that I am tired and crouchy on a Thursday although today it didn't hit until the afternoon.
I started the day by going to the shop for snacks. I thought it would be better to get healthier snacks rather than grazing from the kitchen counter I bought nuts and little bars of chocolate about 75 cals each. I thought I will keep the food in my car. That way if I want it I have to go to my car to get it.
I managed to avoid the temptation of the kitchen counter today but someone at work gave me some sweets for my little one luckly they were mainly haribos which I don't like unluckly there were two little packets of treat sized skittles as they were small I ate them.
I ate a lot of nuts but when I found I was eating too many I gave the pack to my colleague and said take these away from me to stop me from eating them. This worked well.
My lunch was pasta left overs which was mainly carbs I ionly had a small portion so was hungry later which lead to over eating. Better food choices needed later I think.
However when I got back in my car I had 3 of the tiny pieces of chocolate.
I think I was feeling hungry because I had not drunk enough. I have a blinking bottle on my desk to make sure that I drink so I had better start filling it and drinking from it. Starting tomorrow.
I am going to call today a work in progress. I did somethings right but a fair bit wrong.
tomorrow's plan
porridge
yoghurt and fruit
left over pork and boiled veg
paprika chicken wrap
@cassiegetsfit2013 there's a saying that there is no such thing as a stupid question. I tend to think that if I am wondering something then someone else is probably wondering too. It doesn't hurt to get slim and fit in fact the opposite you feel full of energy and vitality which is a real paradox because you are eating less calories. There is one weight loss myth I have to bust if you have had a belly most of your life as I have you never completely lose your it. It just gets smaller you may also find that you acutally feel looser because your skin is not stretched by fat so things sag a bit and jiggle. Real life human bodies do not like they do in pictures at least mine doesn't I have always had odd flaps lumps and bumps. I tend not think about how my bodies looks rather how it feels to live.
@Freeglerock and @sleepymom5 Next week I am going to think about and schedule a mid afternoon meal. It will be properfood rather than treating it as a snack and eating what comes my way. I tend to get tired in the afternoon because i have been running around allday teaching. After I have been teaching I feel like I have to rush back to my desk to catch up with other jobs. Part of me knows I should take some time for myself to recharge maybe go for a proper break or take a beat to change the best but I have been running on adrenaline for most of the day and I just slump. I feel really time poor and pressured like I have so much to do and so little time to do it I feel like I should go from one jpb to the next like a robot. OK so if I am not ready to take a full break maybe I could sit on the sofa and have a drink and talk to the volunteers I could time myself so that I don't feel guilty about taking that time. I end up taking that time anyway by default because I am not being productive only present.
I am also going to eat only what is on the plan starting tomorrow. We have a training course in the building so there will be left over but they are not going on the plan. if I want them I will put them in a tub and have them for a meal the next day.
Sorry for the monster post thanks for sticking with me if you read all of that. I hope it helped you too.

Today started with good intentions.
I made myself a little salad for lunch - spring mix with some chicken salad on top. Got to school and forgot to stick it in the fridge, plus had some difficulties with students, so I spent my lunch period talking with an admin about the kids.
Took one bite of the warm lunch around the start of fourth block and decided it wasn't worth the risk. Instead made a third cup of coffee.
Had some "skinny" popcorn and a chicken salad sandwich for supper but THEN hubster got creative with some leftovers so I also had a little steak and linguine.
I don't think I went over on calories, but I'm not thrilled with my food choices today. Way too many carbs and definitely not enough water.
I think I'll put on a walking video so I can feel a little bit better about myself.
The win for today is that I didn't break Lent to have a drink, even though I reeeeeeeaaaaaalllllly wanted one.6 -
Thursday Check in
On track for food but I still have dinner in a while
Exercise still limited, toe feeling slightly better, going to work out with a trainer tomorrow. So looking forward
Steps:
Tuesday: 10,412
Wednesday:7,861
Thursday: not over yet
@CassieGetsFit2013 Have you tried foam rolling? When I had PT years ago, they suggested it for my knees. Rolling out my thighs (front, sides and back) were painful but really helped my knee2 -
daily check in
food Logged and under
water 88 oz
exercise PT, Stretching and strength
I ended up not walking Charlie today so I planned to go on the treadmill in the basement after dinner. I went down and got my PT workout done and then felt sick to my stomach. I am still not feeling too good so I am going to head up to bed early. Other than not exercising, I had a good day. So happy that I am out of that rut I was in. Hitting the hay early. I will see you all in the morning
@Mrsbell8well Glad things are going well at work!
@Cassiegetsfit You will get use to the walk. It sounds like a great situation for you. Enjoy it plus getting fit at the same time. Getting fit won't hurt. You will feel better with less weight on your bones and joints.
@hope002 Wow! What a difference and on vacation! Awesome my friend!
@phoebe112476 I hope all is well. I know you are busy but check in when you get a chance.
@podperson1 I am glad you are having a better day today. Sounds like you are doing well with food and that class sounds amazing! I hope you can work something out so you can stay at your gym!
@Freeglerock I am sorry, I should have known that Lol! Ugh! Thank you for clearing that up.
@kirsten11872 You have really turned things around! March is your month girl!! I am sorry to hear about your son. I hope you find a counselor for him to see. It took about 2 tries before Mary Kate found one she liked. Hugs my friend.
@ljdanny I am sorry you are not feeling well. I was hoping that the shot would give you some relief. Great job prepping your food for the week too.
@amsandos I am glad you are enjoying your swimming sessions. I like the idea that you had to have some healthy snacks available so you can eat them instead of other sweets. I also think it is a great idea to have them in your car if you think you won't eat the stuff at work instead of going to your car. I might just say I don't feel like going out there and eat what was closer. Hopefully the car will work for you. Can you buy the individual packs of nuts? Nuts are healthy but they are very easy to overeat. It is hard when you try to avoid sweets and then are given stuff for your little one. Does that happen a lot? Maybe you can put it right into your pocketbook or a brief case so you don't have it out tempting you. Sounds like you have a good plan for tomorrow. It sounds like you feel guilty about taking a break. I think your body is telling you need to take one and have lunch. You need it to refuel for the rest of the day. No worries about the long post, like I said earlier, I am glad you are posting again
@GingerPwr I don't blame you for having what your husband made Lol! Sounds delicious. I also think with not having lunch, everything else seemed to balance out. Sometimes life throws a few curve balls at you. I hope you were able to sort everything out with the students. Great job keeping your lenten commitment! I am sure some days are harder than others
@JillyBT Great job with your steps. I am glad your toe is improving. Sounds like you are having a good day!3 -
