I had homemade pastry for lunch, and will until they're gone. This is not a healthy thing, but I'm on "vacation". I had to cancel the two I was looking forward to this year, and that sucks. I'd love to see Tennessee and Oregon sometime in my life, but COVID is having its way. Instead, I'm going to see the inside of a sfogliatella, and it's gorgeous! I've been wanting to make these for 15 years, and took the plunge! Today's neighborhood flower selection is a "fried egg" Matilija poppy since I'm doing a food-themed post. Have a blessed week, all!

Horrible weather had us up all night. The Southeast US was hit pretty hard. We hunkered down in our basement for about 4 hours - Still filled with fans and dehumidifiers from last week's water leak.
We are lucky. 5 were killed by a tornado about 20 miles west of us. I wont complain about no sleep since their family not only have no home, but are making multiple funeral arrangements.
Miniscule bad news - I stress ate everything. I am about to try to remember everything I shoved in my face last night...
Good news - the water mitigation company is coming today to get their equipment. My house will be quiet again. Now we can start the repair process.10 -

I've posted a gain for the first time this year. I'm giving myself some slack, as these are bizarre days we live in. Between the cold rainy days and pastries, I'm still optimistic for long-term loss. I'm gaining some muscle and took measurements over the weekend. I've lost more than 10 inches, which is a game-changer. I took a long walk yesterday, finding some new territory (and flowers) to explore. Today's flower is our state flower, the California Poppy. Incidently this is also my Mom's fave. She lives in WI where it only grows as an annual. Be well, people!

I just read in the news that instead of toilet paper, hair dye and other personal grooming products are now flying off of the shelves. Here is a new F2F group challenge. We want to see it all from you, the success stories, the greying roots, the crazy beards, the long bangs, the tussled hair. They look like beautiful lupines to me, and jelly beans as therapy aren't the worst option. Pastries are, especially the flaky ones that have been smeared with lard and filled with a luscious ricotta filling. Sfogliatelle are cheaper than a therapist but still costly on soooo many levels. I'm not even sure how many calories they are, but there's not much good nutrition in them. I'm still taking daily walks and DVD workouts to burn through a couple of bites. Today's flower is a dahlia that survived the winter and wanted to show off. Are we all grateful to be alive, eager to see the sun again? I'm looking forward to casting off all of this restraint!

Apparently, being @ home 24/7 is catching up w/me and not in a good way. I haven't been able to get outside for walks b/c it's been really cold/windy and then snowed yesterday and supposed to again today....brrrrr.....I'm impatiently waiting for Spring⚘⚘⚘ at least then I can walk outside.....

I agree! I feel like I'm in Groundhog Day- and it's perpetually Monday, or Sunday night and I've stayed up too late. I barely got through my workout today without giving up, and I think my neighborhood walks are saving my sanity. Today's flower is some sort of pretty sage. It's nice to see something besides the inside walls of my house.

Okay.... come on just need to keep my head and lose a lb in the next 7 days.... getting back into the 170s will hopefully give me the focus boost i need.
Currently suffering with toothache without the option of a dentist so I'm self managing it quite well but it's taking away my desire to eat all the time which is a win!
Steps were way down yesterday as work was insane, but staring at a screen insane, and the weather is grim this morning with another lonnngggggg work day on the cards so not really expecting am improvement on that front. But not dwelling on that, trying to focus on the positives!

Good Afternoonish.
Sorry I have been MIA a bit. I am completely exhausted between my 2 jobs.
I ended up taking the day off my main job tomorrow to try to get back into a better head space. I am down a little bit from last week but its better than a gain.3 -

I haven't updated my steps status here for April, steps not as much as before but started running and ran 10 km at one go sfter a long time, so will call it a good progress. I do miss heavy lifting.
