I've decided to kinda stop trying to lose weight until the new year.
I'm still going to log my calories and make something of an effort to keep them down, I still hope to lose a little, I'm just going to stop *trying* so hard, you know? I'm not going to get hung up on my exercise and such.
I'm unbelievably exhausted, I'm suffering bad burnout, and I'm one tiny mishap from losing my fragile grip on my temper basically all the time. Now is not the time to worry about whether I should really eat that pirouline.
I cope with my anxiety and depression by compartmentalizing my life, but I'm getting too tense and inflexible on those compartments and it's not good for my mental health.
Anyways. That's what I'm thinking right now.
In other news, we... we bought a new car. Again. Between us that’s 8 cars in under 10 years. I'm not proud of that. In our defense, this time we downgraded to a smaller, cheaper car for my husband to try save on gas.
Besides you can barely count my first car, I bought it from some dude for $500 and it was an unwieldy, busted up piece of junk from 1999 that lasted 8 months before dying completely.6 -

Thanks! I'm going to try it

Just read through all the recent comments - good to hear that people are recognizing that you just can't do it all ALL of the time. Just do what you can when your energy, emotion, and brain agree. Five years ago I had a few things pile on to me all at once, eventually I learned to go easier on myself if not everything happened as I would wish, there was no other option.7

@eggfreak, rotel is canned tomatoes chopped with chili peppers, and sometimes other seasonings.2

My poor behaviour has caught up to me. I'm going to have to make some adjustments and meal plan better.PlaneMonkey wrote: »Does anyone have a go-to, low calorie but filling, weeknight dinner recipe they can recommend? I need to add to my arsenal of go-to food so I don't fall back on takeout and give in to hubby's requests for calorie dense foods. Help! I need to break this barrier of bad habits and laziness to get the scale moving again in the right direction.

I love the idea that Monica is like the family dog! We have a lot in common - walking is all about running all over the place and burning off energy

Holy cow, we have all been wondering how you do it all! So glad to hear you are wondering too Good on you for re-building the wagon though, and I'm so happy for you that things seem to be going well with your ex-soon-to-be non-ex! That sounds so wonderful. A different work profile sounds like a good move too - something's gotta give, right? And we don't want it to be you.
Big shout-out for tomorrow's weigh-ins!

Thanks!1 -

@jugar what I didn't include in that post is that the weight I submitted was from Tuesday, because I wasn't able to get to a scale for my scheduled Wednesday weigh-in, and when I weighed myself Thursday I'd gone up 3 Lbs! So I'm using Tuesday's weight and going to try to turn it around by next week. If I'm not able, it's gonna be ugly. I'll definitely check out the volume eating. Too many veggies irritate hubby's intermittent IBS, so finding a balance is tough. Salads seem to be ok for him so I'll have to get back to those while I do more research.2 -
@PlaneMonkey nope I dont rinse the beans, I dump all 3 cans right into the crock pot. I suppose you could drain them but then I would add in some chicken broth because the liquid from the cans keeps the chicken nice and moist/tender

@Terytha sounds like a little break could be helpful until you get your stress/mental health in a better place. Just don't undo all the great work you've done! Definitely don't let calorie counting negatively impact your mental health though! Hope you are feeling better soon. ❤3

Rotel is canned diced tomatoes, with chiles. It's kind of Mexican flavored. Basically diced tomatoes with a little spice.2 -
I'm going to cry. Just wrote a big post/check in. Hit post reply. It did nothing. Got nervous and tried to quickly copy and I must have hit cut. Ah *kitten*

Yesterday was good, didn't get any work walks in, it rained all day... Still a little yucky this morning, but supposed to clear up... But of course today I am super busy, I swear it's either all or nothing here...
Anyway, it's Friday YAY... Enjoy your weekend !5 -

Happy Friday the 13th 2020
I think I'll pretend I'm visiting @coffeetwist in NZ where it is over. Hopefully everyone will have a safe and comfy day.
I'm hitting level 10 procrastination this morning, so I had better get to it. Whatever it is...6
