Today was random crap ALL DAY LONG! Why - I don’t know. The little hormone pills 😵‍💫seem to have a mind of their own and for today I gave up the fight.

Tomorrow is a new day and I’ll pick up the challenge again. But today I just can’t……..

Nods… tough fighting induced hunger, hope tomorrow is easier Yooly

Yes, I have a soft spot for most cheese Laurie, drool comes easy! LOL

So, if I shift from my old favs, then what incredible edible can I eat instead??? The 2 or 3 ingredient snack thread really got me going... Sharing it for the ideas...

I might try (bone) broth with seaweed flakes. I used to get the sheets and tear bits into soup for the nutrition reasons… A little, not enough to skew flavor. Can't wait to taste test the no salt Knorr (dry powder) broth I ordered.

    Heres the snack link.

Many years ago while visiting Nova Scotia I was introduced to dulse - a popular local seaweed snack. As I recall it was fairly tasty and pre shredded. Might be good in your broth or on salads

So it has a name! Who knew?

I really struggled to overcome an automatic mental aversion to even the idea - for this and many new for me things (stemming from childhood and family food preferences.) Awhile back, started systematically exploring a list of 'super food freggies' - took awhile to get to seaweed. I was shocked to find it ok hidden in soup and stirfrys, but it did not become a staple. Wonder if Costco still carries? Will have to watch for it.

Well. Since we are into weird but interesting stuff. How about Japanese Umami Dashi Soup Stock? About 22 Cal per 600ml…

Carefully selected ingredients that include the finest tea leaves (Gyokuro and Hojicha)... says the blurb.

And then!🤯 You read the list of Ingredients:

Seasonings (dried bonito, kelp, niboshi dried small sardines extract, niboshi dried round herring, niboshi dried flying fish, shitake mushroom!!) salt, sugar, "starch décomposition product"!!, yeast extract, gyokuro tea, hojicha tea, soy sauce powder, edible vegetable oil

Note that this should not be placed under the sun and definitely not "in the hot and humid places"!!!!🤪

Millions of Japanese cannot be wrong! Sounds like some good fishy stuff there.

Today was better. Much less snacking although hubby did find some of my Christmas Biscochitos hiding in the freezer. I was forced to sample one. Had salad and Wasa crackers with pimento cheese for lunch ( only 3 1/2 tubs to go). Then a salad with green salsa and some chopped Canadian bacon for dinner.

There may be a snack packet of nuts and dried fruit later. From Costco - although my selection sadly has no dark chocolate chunks ⬇️

Why is it called Canadian bacon? Not bacony nor from Canada 🇨🇦

Back from Con Weekend. Really feeling the exhaustion still. That is the fun of having chronic fatigue. The recovery takes as long as the fun!

Today I am trying to get back on track.

    Breakfast: 3 dates with PB

    Lunch: Salad wraps

    Dinner: Greek falafel bowl

    And lots of water.

Sounds like a great food day,Athijade. Hope it replenishes your energy.
I didn't replace my dates when I finished them off last week. I'm way too inclined to munch on them whenever I walk into the kitchen - same thing with the almonds. Both healthy - but too calorie intense when "grazed" upon throughout the day! Which is what I ended up doing. They are so good though if you have some control with them :)

Made a nice green salad and Akis Petrizikis tuna bread. I used a can of drained tuna in water with a splash of olive oil rather than tuna packed in oil. Miraculously in two microwave minutes voila a bread like product! Under 200 calories.

I think you should PAV. I make mine in a Pyrex glass one cup measure. Pops right out easily.

Definitely need a raw egg for the tuna bread. Another time?

    Attempt # 0.1

81g skipjack tuna, 81g egg white, 1.8g avocado oil, 0.2g smokey paprika..... cause that's what I had, m'ok????😛

Egg white was a bit much for the quantity but I can see this working, especially on a salad or similar... next attempt reduce 1:1 tuna to egg white ratio and try around 1 to 0.75

    Try a whole egg!

But I don't have one! 😛 I have 13 hard boiled eggs! 11 of them painted red!!!!🤷‍♂️ But lots of little cartons of egg whites!!!

Sense of adventure Yooly!!!🤔 Probably the next step is to try without the 1.8g of avocado oil!🤯 (I used avocado because I've run out of olive oil. My last bottle was long long expired (by 2 years🤣) and starting to turn last time I sniffed it, so I tossed it during the girl🏃🏼‍♀️ pre arrival clean up!)

I thought the tuna/egg consistency was fine. Taste would go over well on a salad! What I made actually ended up on a 28g slice of breed! Bread on bread!!!!🤣

The baby girl 🐕 is all in for more attempts since she got her own 40g/40g version with the remaining tuna from the can!!!!😛 Plus she helped clean up the Pyrex dishes🤣🤣🤣

Fine! If you keep reminding me I'll even try it with a full 🥚 egg!😘

If it works okay with egg whites - why not? Less calories. Dare I ask why you have 11 RED hard boiled eggs? 🤔

'cause "a certain someone" mentioned red eggs a year ago… and CCCGG brought a red paint (E122) and stickers kit with her…. so that I can make red eggs for "a certain someone"

The idea is that you SMASH them against each other…. and eat them on Easter Sunday.

I did a carton (cause what's the point of doing less of them)… tested one to see how it came out (so 11/12)…. and then realized that I still had two older eggs just sitting there and that the greek jw lady who lives at the same location as "a certain someone" would not appreciate painted eggs for jw reasons… so I boiled the other two and will just stick stickers on them for her ;-)

Now to find little baskets and make them all nice for my boys and girls ;-)

About half the information in the following blurb was not even known to me… so take it for what it's worth! I just smash and eat and the rest… whatevs…. but that's me! :-)

Lovely to carry on traditions! Your CCCGG is so kind and thoughtful to remember a conversation from a year ago. Enjoy your red eggs this Sunday.
