A big welcome to all new and returning members of The Big Butt Theory!!!
My name is Christine, and I am your captain for TBBT! I have been with our team since February of 2019, and have given a lot of credit to this group for motivating me along my weight loss journey! My co-captain is @brandi_84. Please, feel free to reach out to either of us if you need to! We run a couple challenges(optional!) within the group. One is the MUAC, which Brandi has mentioned in the previous post, and a Step/Water challenge, that I will discuss in a post after this introduction! If you have a fitbit, and are interested in some fitbit challenges feel free to add me, here is the link to my profile: https://www.fitbit.com/user/5P8W7K We have a small number of fitbit challenge participants, but the more the merrier!
I am 28 years old and live in Connecticut, USA. I am a dog mom to a one year old named Dillon and a 10 year old named Roy(Corduroy). One of my favorite things to do is walk with my fiance and the dogs. I enjoy hiking, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family. For the most part, anything that gets me outside is something I enjoy!
I am engaged and getting married in February, so I plan to really kick things back into high gear! I am finally working off some small gains from the past few months, and hope to tie the knot at my closest weight!
My goals to start the year:- 1400 calories + exercise calories when needed, 5 days each week.
- 16,000 steps, 5 days a week
- Eating between 7am and 3pm, 5 days each week.
- 64oz water daily
- Bike 20 minutes 3x weekly.
- Check in with group at least five days each week.
I also participate in the Game of Thrones Challenge, as well as the Hogwarts Weight Loss challenge. These groups offer extra challenges focused on weight loss, exercise, healthy eating, etc. and I find that the two groups, along with TBBT give me multiple areas to focus on for my success!
I have lost about 78lb since I began my weight loss journey in November of 2018. Below is my monthly weigh ins and my progress since beginning my weight loss, along with my monthly progress with the team.Starting Weight(11/26/2018): 246.0lb

Please share your name and a short introduction if you can! TBBT is one of the most supportive teams I have ever been a part of! Best of luck in January, team!!!3 -
Step & Water Challenge Info
Information on our Step/Water Challenge! These challenges will run weekly, from Sunday through Saturday. Our first week will run January 3-9th. These challenges run with the same timeline as our weekly weigh-ins and our MUAC challenge. I have added optional tracking for the MUAC, just place a 1 in each "yes" category or a 0 for any "no".
Weekly Step Challenge
This is pretty simple if you track your steps at all(via phone, fitness tracker, pedometer, anything really). You select your own step goal each week and try to reach it. We have two categories for "winners" for the week- Percentage of goal completed, and highest total steps!
The Water Challenge
This is a challenge to get you to reach 8 cups of water each day! The team all has the same goal. Aim for 8 glasses(64oz) of water per day, or 448oz or week! The winners in this category are determined by the highest percentage of water you drink! If you measure by something other than ounces, please let me know what unit you use, I will adjust the spreadsheet.
Here is the spreadsheet
Once you have been added to the spreadsheet, feel free to add your daily numbers in(of course, only for your username!) I do my best to try to keep up, but admit that I may miss a few logs here and there!!!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING THE STEP OR WATER CHALLENGE, PLEASE TAG ME IN YOUR POST @cmhubbard92 ALONG WITH YOUR WEEKLY STEP GOAL(not daily) AND I WILL ADD YOU TO THE CHALLENGE!

I was in a while ago and then out. If I can access this page does it mean I can still participate in BBT?0

@cmhubbard92 - how do we find out when/if we get assigned to this group? I was on in 2019, but not since then. I posted my weigh in under new members thread and I THINK I registered on the registration page. I hope to be back in BBT!1
-
@annabananamc either tonight or tomorrow Ashley will post your team assignment in the registration page. Most likely she will reassign you with us she has a lot on her plate and is the only one that assigns the teams!1

@cmhubbard92 - I would like to participate in the steps/water challenge. My weekly goal for steps is 30,000. I'm hoping to do 10,000 a day for at least 3 days this week. Hoping that is a reasonable goal for me, I have only been doing the 10 steps from my home office to my refrigerator for awhile so, I might be overly optimistic. But there is only one way to find out...commit and begin!1
-
@cmhubbard92 I would like to join the water and step challenge. 35,000/week. Thank you 😊0

Hi Team, my name's Krystal
wife and mother to a 15-year old daughter. Florida native. I started my WL journey in April of 2016. Over the following 3 years I took my time to research and familiarize myself with the keto diet. I got into the pattern of being on the diet, then getting off, watch the scale creep up then get back on it(I did this in conjunction with a whole-lotta keto YouTube/ Pinterest/ social media *following* of all types). By the end of 2018 I was down to 189lbs when I turned to this group I accelerated my weight loss and have had much success with the accountability here
My weight loss journey stats(reminder to myself that I need to stay in this challenge to reach my goal weight of 130lbs):May 2016 Journey SW: 213Dec2020 Sw: 156.3
July 2017: 200
Nov 2018: 189
2019(Note: When I started food logging and The Biggest Loser Challenge)
January 2019 SW: 185
February SW: 175
March SW: 168
April SW: 162.6
May SW: 161.8
June SW: 159.7
July2019 SW: 155.6
**Left the TBL Challenge😥**
Rejoined the challenge:
Feb2020 SW: 164.8
March2020 SW: 165
April2020 SW: 161.4
May2020 SW: 156
June2020 SW: 150.2
**Left the TBL Challenge😥**hmmm starting to notice a trend here
Nov2020 SW: 158

Welcome to TBBT everyone! Hope you find all the support and encouragement like I have found with this amazing group!0 -

Hurray - I made it back to BBT! I am also going to join MUAC and the Step Challenge, because I have decided this year is the year to step up my game! I was last on BBT in 2019, the year we moved back to Florida from MD/DC. I am a 59 year old empty nester with son in 2nd year of college. We live on the Gulf Coast of FL, in a small amazing town called Dunedin. We have a great park with trails nearby, as well as a 45 mile paved trail a couple blocks from home, and the intracoastal and gulf beaches. I am blessed with so much here, I want to get in shape to be able to enjoy it.
For the step challenge, I'd like to start Week 1 with a 5000 step goal. I tried 10,000 and rarely hit it, so I want to be reasonable and grow the goal as I grow.
I took all my measurements with my weigh-in this weekend, and I realized that I have stayed pretty steady within a couple lbs and same inches +/- 1 inch for several years. But I can do better, and I can be healthier.
So here I am ready to jump in and UP MY GAME with BBT for 2021!!!!
Thanks for having me, and I hope to be a strong teammate for you all.0 -
@annabananamc yay! We are happy to have you back on TBBT! I am proud of you for pretty much maintaining in your absence from the team! That is something to definitely be proud of!
For your step challenge, is that 5,000 daily(35,000 weekly), or 5,000 for the week?
I will add you to the spreadsheet after your reply!0 -

H2O challenge and steps challenge 450001 -
Hi everyone!!!
My name is Jenn. I participated in a Biggest Loser challenge years ago and loved it. I dropped off myfitnesspal while I was a Weight Watchers member but since COVID closed the Studios, I didn't find the benefits of having a weigh in checkin anymore so I cancelled and came back looking for the accountability of a challenge.
Some info about me: I am a 42 yr old mom of two amazing preteens, who are also my biggest cheerleaders. My entire household is working and learning from home full time which has some challenges (ex. My kids have different lunch schedules which means I am constantly in the pantry - which is filled with junk). To combat, I plan out every meal, meal prep and designated one small shelf of the pantry to my food so I don't grab their snacks. I enjoy working out but our gyms closed during the pandemic. I had to switch gears but I was able to score a treadmill and weights and I love to take livestream classes in my basement now (not sure I want to go back to a gym again!).
My step goal is 15,000 per day. My calorie goal is 1400 but I am not super confident that is a good place. I find so many variations and calculators in a range from 1200-1600 cals/day. I am hoping to make enough changes to drop 30 lbs but not willing to.do anything I don't think I can sustain for life.
I think I have rambled enough I am excited to join the group!!1 -
@Krysless2 you're welcome
@murdog3t I have added you to the spreadsheet
@JMTiv1979 welcome to TBBT! You stated that you have a daily step goal of 15,000 would you like to be added to the step/water challenge?0
