Anyone else just not feeling it this week? I’m forcing myself to do the right things but my excitement and motivation is not what it was the rest of January

@erikNJ I've had two really low weeks of steps, so my motivation wasn't really what it was(quarantine due to exposure at work, stress, etc.), but I've been persistent with my calorie goal, so I'm pretty much still on track. Starting today off with a push, as I'm already getting my walk done and over my highest step day in the last two weeks. Sometimes we all have our lows in both motivation and progress, but even keeping a few small changes helps in the long run.

@erikNJ I 100% have had a lack of motivation this week. I've had a couple of stressful things and lack of visible progress. That always seems to throw me into F-it attitude. I almost took myself to Wendy's yesterday for chicken sandwich and fries!!! (but I didn't - yay) Some days knowing that this group is here is the only thing between me and a 2000 calorie lunch!

I am betting I'll end this month with a net nothing, as has been for the past year. I think it's time to try something new for February, in the exercise realm. Being a post-menopausal woman is no picnic, my metabolism is a mess.

    Tracked: yes
    Under: no
Exercised: yes - 2 mile walk

The mistake was once again having some snacks on hand and not eating enough protein. I am having a problem day today again with snacking and can only eat 200 calories for dinner. Help! I will try to just have a protein shake.

At least the chips are now gone and my daughter will be heading back to school soon with her boxes of Clif Bars. The other day she made cookies and I had her take them to her room.

Today was challenging to eat a real meal. Cookie dough was lunch. This happens when I get stressed and/or really busy with work. So calories stay under and nutrition is for crap. That's got to be my focus for next month - planning meals and eating them on time.

Having crazy pollen counts has made me inflamed too, and very close to the chucking in the towel place. @erikNJ if you hadn't shared your struggle, I just may have abandoned ship this week instead of hanging on to the life preserver and trying to get back aboard. Thank you again for being real.

@annabananamc glad to see you didn’t jump ship and you have a game plan for next month.

Sharing struggles is very important here as well. At least I think so. We are all human. Every day or week isn’t going to be our best. Getting back on track after a slump is something I know I need to work on.
Sometimes sharing a struggle can be therapeutic.

Hi everyone. I'm struggling big time lately. I feel like I've been a terrible teammate but I just need to vent a little. My eating is awful and it is spiraling. I know that when I eat a lot of junk I feel so bad physically and mentally and then I just get caught in the cycle of eating bad, feeling bad, then eating more junk because I'm feeling bad. I'm a mess! I'm still planning to weigh in tomorrow but It's probably going to be a gain. I went shopping today and I tried to get a lot of healthy stuff to get me back on track.

This is HARD to do! Tomorrow I weigh in and then head to HEB for big bag Cadbury mini-eggs...I will feel cruddy all day afterwards and then I will wake up on Saturday and hit the trail to log a minimum of 10000 steps. Or not. I will probably skip the store, go straight to the trail and not cave in to the call of chocolate because I know this is HARD to do and it will be worth it in the end. I will feel better if I don't eat a bag of sugar, both physically and mentally. But cravings are the WORST!

@thedestar don't beat yourself up. Look at all the good you did. You got healthy stuff at the store, and you came here and shared your struggle and commitment. I hope this ends your spiral and you deserve to treat yourself well!

@cmhubbard92 Whew, that is a tough return for sure! I could NOT do that. We are at 59 degrees and windy here in Florida and I am wrapped up in the heating blanket!

I am coming here to confess that I did NOT plan my lunch and I ate two girlscout cookies for lunch and two more for snack. I am going to be under calories but for goodness sake I gotta treat my body better.

I expect that my weigh in tomorrow will also be a sad one, with all the extra carbs and sugar and pollen puffing me up...but there is always next month!

I am still here team! I’m still here but a little frazzled this week while handling the household and my husband now home with COVID symptoms. My daughter and I have gone to my moms to keep separated. We are all getting through it.
I’m still keeping myself positive. and still logging everything I eat. But I’ve also noticed I’ve been losing my appetite allot while life’s been tossing around. I always appreciate when I finally check back in here and get to read all the encouragement this team gives each other! I hope everyone is staying healthy.

Today was my first day back at work after quarantine, and it was miserable. 7.5hours outside putting a bunch of fixtures together in 20s with a not fun wind. I managed to tweak my back, and am just aggravated about it. I put some icy hot on my back and am laying in bed looking for good stretches to do before work tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear about your day. That sounds awful. I hope your back is better soon. On the diet/exercise end, though, you've been doing beautifully!
