Don't quit now gals. We must keep our bodies moving. Once you stop it is all over. I am not ready for it to be over. I have books to read, water to tread, places to explore and friends and family to laugh with.
Think of a memory to share with us. Something that made you laugh, wonder at the miracle of laugh. Something that you will never forget. Share with me.

This is a silly fun memory. I was a girl scout in Germany. Our leader was married to an American but was German. She loved to take us hiking through the forests. We would get on a train and then hop off at a different station and go walking. Us girls found a bright red umbrella laying on the path discarded. The big kind for like a table. We carried that old ratty thing for miles. I always think of that day whenever I see those types of umbrellas!

I'm with you guys. I'm walking 5 days a week at least 4 miles. If I don't get 4 mile w/DH then I'll go off by myself for the rest of my miles. I'm working w/my trainer 3 time a week 60 mins each workout session. I am doing IF ...wish I'd written down when I started doing it but...I didn't.

We lived in Ventura. I was 10. My oldest brother was 13. Sisters 9, 8. Younger brother 5. We lived across from a grave yard...no fence...you could see all the grave stone markers. The five of us would be playing over there. There were rules...you could not step on a grave...you had to walk around it. If you stepped on a grave you would be haunted in the night. My bunk bed was at a window facing the grave yard...I could see it at night. I did not want to step on a grave. There was a stone crypt at the corner of the plot. It was probably four foot by four foot...and it was open...one day my dumb, stupid older brother crawled inside and waited patiently for us to get near. When we were within ear-shot he started shouting and cursing in a very strange voice and scared the (you know what) out of us...I fell backward on a grave. I was doomed forever. My sisters and younger brother were crying. I knew it was him. He crawled out and was laughing so hard that the rest of us started laughing and rolling around...careful not to roll on any grave.

Shelley you’re absolutely correct I have to get back to daily movement even if only 30 minutes. I have a lot of things going on but must remember I have to take care of self in order to take care if anyone else.

Chris
Whoo Hoo, Chris, Congratulations!!!
Sutter has only vaccinated health care workers up till now, but are making appointments later this week to their patients over 65. waiting with bated breath and fingers crossed
PaulaHas anyone checked out the data on the CDC website? It's really amazing. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases_casesper100klast7days
I was shocked to realize that even though the majority of cases are 18-65 year olds; the chance of dying increases significantly with age. In fact 81% of U.S. deaths are people over 65 yr olds.0 -
Chris - so glad you are getting the vaccine!
Karen0 -
Chris glad to hear it. Us older ladies need to get it. Paula has shown us the percentage of deaths without it. But I think some older folks might be in to poor of health to get it.

Hey I posted a little extra challenge on the top of the page with Kathy's inspiration posts. Up there was an accident. But it could be fun. The pups all went to the vets today. Cooper just had a check up. Libby Oh and Joey had vaccinations and dental. Barney just had his glands cleaned. I am still in shock over the cost!
Shelley0 -
Paula keep those fingers crossed! Kathy did your parents get theirs?
Chris that would be creepy and fun for kids. I am not sure if my brother would have escaped a thrashing!

No. They are on a wait list for a local hospital but I’m still looking. I’m hoping as more vaccine is released it gets easier. I’m definitely looking at the local health departments. Not giving up!

Kathy glad you are not giving up. I know we have run out of the vaccine here a couple of times also. But I also remember that getting the shingles vaccine was hard at times. They ran out and I had trouble getting it. I don't think my husband actually ever kept at it. I probably should remind him. The only people in my family to get it so far is a niece who is a nurse my mom and myself. I told my sister who lives with my mom that you were also on a list beings you are now living with you parents.
It really bothers me when I hear of vaccine doses that have had to be thrown out. Rocky mentioned that disabled vets might be able to get them now also. I told him to check into it.

My health care provider vaccination services are expanding but require travel to Sacramento, a few hours away. It's still okay, just a relief to be in the queue. My first appointment is this Sunday.
- Kathy, You're so right that as more vaccine is released, it's becoming easier to find.
- Shelley, Hope Rocky and the rest of your family find some soon too.
- Good luck to everyone!

Thanks Paula!
I hope this is not a touchy subject. I have mentioned my friend Angie a few times here. Her wife is 39 and she is 49. Anyway, they are going to have a baby! So happy for them. Her wife has had several miscarriages, all tubals, and this time it looks like the little guy/gal is in the right place. I just wanted to share.
Today was a rough day at work. There is an employee that has been very unhappy with work for many years. He brings his home life here and is always very negative. I lost my "sht" on him today. I was replacing Angie on security and out of no where he starts yelling at me. Pointing and accusing all of us brown shirts (deputies) of telling him how to do his job. I told him to lower his voice and that I had no clue what he was talking about but that we were in the public and he needed to cut it out. Angie gentle pushed me towards the door and very wisely traded places with me. I later found out that he totally thought I had said something I had not. Also that this was not the first time he did this to one of us. He is a civilian worker. Retired deputy. He has never been a happy person. He might be getting some time off for this incident. I was so embarrassed. How unprofessional. I can't believe I allowed myself to get that worked up over him. I am not going to speak to him. I usually only have to spend 1-2 hours working with him. He has always been a downer and I am not going to ever put myself in a position to sink to his level again.
Anyways ladies. Sorry for the rant. But I feel I can confide in you all without judgement.
Hugs and happy Thursday.

Shelley - Wow....that's a really tough situation to deal with especially in public! Sorry you had to go through that. Toxic personalities can be so hard...like walking on egg shells and you know they are just going to give the negative. I think your plan sounds good! You must take care of you first. Hope all goes well today!

Paula - glad you are getting the vaccine.! So exciting when one of us gets it. Optimistic about the J&J vaccine. I'm not eligible until the last round...so fall earliest. Which is fine because other need it, but I am still scared of getting COVID. My sis was really sick with it. And then this week....really tough. One of my leaders Gisele who I am grooming for bigger things. She's great...just needs someone to believe in her. Her otherwise healthy husband got COVID. Ended up with pneumonia in the ICU, on a vent. Had a massive stroke and died on Wed. Antoine was 43 years old. 2 small boys. And like that....in a matter of days her life is changed forever. I'm really broken up about it. Trying to do what I can to help. Not sure that there was life insurance, so people are helping with a GoFundMe. I work with really caring people.
So my eating has been off, exercise off, and too much wine! But that's OK...giving myself a pass.

Karen that is so sad. She is going to need all of you. I wish I could turn back time and make it unhappen. I can't imagine something like that happening. Keep yourself away from others as much as possible. Stay safe. And if you do feel ill get looked at quickly.
The guy from above who went off on me. He is so anti mask, he complains all the time about it. Says it is a joke and just something the government has made up. He has no idea how lucky he and his family is to not have come down with it.

Kathy - Mine will be through Contra Costa Health Services. Kaiser is still handling over 75.
Shelley - I read a story of a woman in a grocery store where the phcy was giving the vaccine by appt...two people didn't show. The nurse offered it to the woman shopping saying the vaccine was only good for a short time and if it wasn't given that it was tossed out. The woman accepted the shot. There should be some kind of back up plan for that instead of the trash can.
And I'm sorry you have to put up with a STUPID MAN. I worked with one of those.
Paula - Glad you are getting the shot. I get mine the next day. Let's share our experience...I've never had a reaction to any of the flue/shingles etc... vaccines.
Karen - That's so sad about Antoine. One day you are playing with them and the next thing you know, they are gone. Hug hour husbands and kids and the ones you love and TELL them you love them to the moon and back.
Chris1 -
My weight just sky rocketed. I am so bummed.
Chris0 -
So glad to hear more of our group is getting them.
Kathy I can't believe your parents have not been given a date at least for the vaccine.
Thanks Chris. I am being kept away from him for now. He seriously should have been told not to come into work today. What he did should not be tolerated.
Kathy I can't find a YouTube "type" of video I have not done. That is a tough extra challenge for me. Still looking thoug. :glasses:

Our Darling Doctor Daughter, Sara, won the Regional 2021 Administrators of the Year - Elementary Co-Administrator!! She now goes to the State Competition!! We are so very, very proud of her! I cried when they announced it.

Shelley,
So excited for your friend Angie and her wife. Sending happy-dance wishes! Would you let us know when the baby is born? I know it can be hard for women to have kids when they(we)'re getting older. They must be thrilled!
Life isn't fair, is it. Wish Covid could be more selective - there are so many people who don't deserve it.And frankly, some jerks who do. (sorry - had to be said)Paula1 -
Okay, I take that back. NOBODY deserves to get Covid.
But people who don't wear masks are asking for it. And they are a danger to others. If they sincerely believe what they say, that is so sad. But if they just let their misery make them hateful, they are self-cursed, and that is a tragedy.
OK, shut up Paula...1 -
Paula you are right in everything you say. I will keep you informed of the babies progress. I am planning on making some infant clothes when we get closer to the due date. Which is still a long ways off. I believe the end of September.
Got to go find some video to do tonight. Or maybe I will just do some Bow Flex! So the PVC pipes I am planning on using for the tank comes in different colors. There is red, purple, gray, black, white, yellow and I believe green. So many decisions.
Shelley0 -
Chris- so exciting for Sara! Hw fantastic!
Karen0 -
Paula - I don't understand why people choose to not wear masks. They make it political... and it isn't. It is about being kind and humane.
Is it really asking that much?
OK...now I'll shut up
Karen1 -
Thanks, my friends! She is pretty special.
We all got together this afternoon and went down to Big Brake (river) so Ronan could ride his bike and we could walk around. It was a beautiful, sunny, breezy day here in northern California. It was fun.
We are going over to their place tomorrow for Super Bowl. I got dessert...hahahahaha! Boy did I get dessert!! It will be a high calorie day for me.
