Hi everyone!!! I’m very happy to join you. This week I’ve been focusing on increasing my calcium and protein, while still trying to get in as much water as I can. I usually fall short of 7 cups ( the goal is to finish 8 cups).
Ready to support one another. Let’s do this!!5 -
@TheresaM787 welcome to our team...Happy to have you with us🙂2

Today was the first day I practiced with the health coach. She gave me an amazing nutrition plan that I can adjust to meet my needs. I also had a pretty awesome workout this morning. Even though I am still sore from Friday's leg day! lol Tomorrow afternoon I meet with the personal trainer again for the first time in months so I am curious to see how his reaction will be. I did go for a walk/jog and ran for a longer distance than I have ever done! I was so proud of myself for that. Almost had to cut the walk short because I drank so much water I had to pee but toughed it out and made it home without calling for a ride. Really puts into perspective how far out I walk lol. I am soooo excited to see where I am 3 months from now.3

Exercise Rest Day
I've been on my current journey since April of last year. I've been taking care of my body through what I put it in it and exercising. At the beginning of this year I decided part of my new year goals was to start wearing make up more (just mascara and eye liner) and keeping my nails looking nice and painting them. I've been doing better with my nails than with remembering to put on makeup but it's been nice.
The next things I've decided to do are take better care of my hair and my skin. I have very long curly hair and have put it up in a ponytail almost every day for years. I haven't had a haircut/trim in 3 years and I don't (based on recent research) use the right products for my hair. My skincare is non existent aside from showering. I'm in my 30s now and am starting to notice little fine lines appearing mostly on my neck so I want to start something for my face and neck. I've been doing lots of research and will look and see what products I have available around me to get a routine started. I'm also going to go get my hair trimmed and thinned and have already bought a hydrating mousse for my curls.
I'm working so hard to get healthier and lose weight, I feel like I should be taking care of other parts of me too right?8 -
@garn1976 and @TheresaM787
Welcome to our team! I’ve been part of this team just a month, but I already feel like I belong in this wonderfully supportive community. Looking forward to getting to know both of you better!
@Draby2011
Wow! It sounds like so many positive things are happening for you, and it’s very motivating for me! In my experience when one thing catches on, it’s so much easier to add more things, and it seems like that is exactly what is happening for you! That’s so awesome!
@tazaria87
I started paying more attention to my curls recently too! I researched how I should wash, style and care for my hair, and it has made a profound change at the health and definition of my curls. Good for you to think about care for your skin and hair. I think people often start doing things when there’s already a lot of damage done.
So, I return to work tomorrow after my week off. I have one last bout of OT left which is next Saturday, so there is end in sight! On Friday night, I had a bit of a stress reaction and started freaking out with all the things I needed to do. I took a step back, and made a list of ‘need to’ versus ‘want to’ do. That really helped reduce the stress I was feeling. I considered cancelling a walk I had planned today with some girlfriends, but I decided I needed to stop putting my health at the bottom of my priority list. The weather was BEAUTIFUL this weekend, and in the time of lockdown, where we’re only allowed to visit in groups of 10 or less outside only, I felt that it was important to go on the walk. Man, I’m so glad I did!! I have over 10,000 steps today! But, I’ll report steps tomorrow.
With being back to work this week, I will also return to my daily/weekly goals I had the week before:- 48 oz water/day
- Healthy snack 1x/day
- In bed by 10:30 3x/week
- Check-in with the group 1x/day
- 4,000 steps/day
My steps were awful yesterday. I worked 8 hours of OT, so sat the whole time! I got my sit/stand desk delivered on Friday, so I hope to set that up sometime this week.

Morning all, here for Monday check in.
I was a little lower yesterday, it's funny that you get lower numbers just before weigh in day like it does it on purpose 😂. Still going in the right direction though! Last week was one of the first weeks where I was adding more healthy extras into my day alongside the plan than usual because of feeling hungry.. the extras didn't really suffice, I've not gone over calories and tracked everything but thinking need to keep an eye on it, I probably won't have these extra calories on my BMR available to do it as I get lower but shall see.
Still a work in progress on trying to create meals at the weekend that have more quantity, but don't make me go over. It's interesting how easy calories add up on the healthy stuff without realising.
Managed to get out walking a few times and did some weightlifting so was pleased with that this past week.
Not much else to say, have a great week everyone!2 -

Ha! A whole 10th of a pound. Actually I'm up nearly 1.5 lbs from yesterday but I sort of expected as much since Susan & I took 3 of our 4 kids (the other one is away at college) out to a nice steak house for my son's 18th birthday. Between the sizable portions of everything and the likely fair amount of butter and salt added to everything back in the kitchen, I expected as much. Anyway, I'm going to look at this as setting myself up for a bigger drop next week now that the weather has finally turned a corner, and I can get out and walk the neighborhood again. It's supposed to get up to 50 (F) today - come on Spring! Also, I'm doing the No Junk Food Challenge this week so that should help a bit.

After a lot of consideration, I have decided to leave this group. I have not been supportive enough and I always seem to be a day or two behind on posing here.
I will continue my journey, but I will not be posting on here.
I wish all of you the very best.5 -

What a way to start your Monday with a bang reaching such a big milestone. Do you have your next milestone set?
@Beautyofdreams
Awesome loss!
@azkunk
Nice loss! Glad you are getting back on track. Do you think getting back to your normal routine has helped?
@cesse47
Nice loss!
@TheresaM787
Awesome loss! With the water, I find adding ice tea drops really helps me meet my goal. There are all kinds of flavours so maybe this might work for you.
@draby2011
Love your enthusiasm! You are taking all the right steps to be successful. I can’t wait to celebrate all your victories with you.
@lcfa5317
Great steps! The weather is so frustrating. We woke up to a ton of new snow this morning. At this rate we will have snow melting in June still.
@Tazaria87
Taking care of ourselves as a whole can help us succeed with weight loss. It is good you are looking into skincare now. I wish I had 20 years ago.
@heatherbluebell
Great job on reducing your stress. We all think weight loss is about calories but there are so many factors including reducing stress, enough sleep and drinking water to name a few.
@mszoueb
You are killing it this year! You are really thinking about what you eat and how things add up. How many days are you getting the preplanned meals now?
@jimboden3
Any loss no matter how small counts. I am sure all the neighborhood walking will help in your weight loss efforts.

Sorry to see you go. Best of luck with the rest of your journey.3 -

I am have a bad case of the should haves, could haves and would haves today. I spent too much time this morning looking at my weight loss graphs in happy scale and thinking about the weight I gained from August to the beginning of January. I am moving forward!
I did a longer mini walk yesterday after the grandkids left. It was painful but no pain no gain. 🤷♀️ I am going to do one now when I finish my coffee and one before lunch. I have a lot of housework as kids are messy and I have to catch up on all I put off this weekend.
Happy Monday!3 -

Back to reality! We had a great relaxing vacation in Puerto Rico just what we needed after the craziness of last year. Got more steps in than I do at home in the winter. We all tested before and after. Just before we left they put Puerto Rico on one of the very few places you don’t have to test or quarantine to return to MA but we still did since the kids are back to school 4 days this week. Yay!!!
I will be skipping weigh in until next week, I know the scale messes with my head. I am also skipping my meal plan until next week to eat some of the things I have made extra of a frozen.
I plan to start a new work out program today and a little nervous after not working out for a week.
I also just purchase the renphro scale that has been talked about, that I went back and forth on getting.5
