I would love to start walking outside again with the weather warming up. As much as I love my dances, the fresh air is always great. Unfortunately, it's been raining all week here but hopefully soon! Last night I spent a couple hours pulling stuff out of the storage room in the basement and organizing it. I turned on a show and tagged stuff for the sale while I watched. Anything I got done with then got put in the spare bedroom to keep it out of the way. I knew we had a lot of stuff but as I was pulling stuff out I kept finding boxes I had forgot about haha. I'm going to need to do some work during the days too, not just nights, I think. After I take my son to school today I'm hoping my daughter will spend some time with me in the basement going through toys. Usually she likes "helping" me with my projects.3 -

Thank you for the welcome. Excited to get focused again. This is my first group and tried MFP out years ago and loved it, so thought it would be a great time to jump back in. I'm a 41 yr old born and raised Ohio resident wanting to be able to get out and play with my dogs (Duke (rott), Link (Husky), Nanuq (Husky) this spring/summer. I have struggled with my weight since I had my son (he is now 19). I lost my best friend and soul mate in September of 2020, along with our wonderful Ohio weather, my recover process has been eating. With the great encouragement of my son and doctors, I am now in the mindset of self care. I'm one of those people who know what to do, it's just hard for me to do it. (Great advise giver, just not to myself LOL)
I'm working from home (go into the office once a wk), which has been hard on me as I love people and to be honest...my kitchen is way to close to my office! I'm excited to get to know everyone and give/receive encouragement through this process! Have a blessed day!!4 -
@888Angie888
It’s a loss so you are still going in the right direction. Your loss so far this year is amazing!
@Tazaria87
Spring and fall are the best time for walking. The temperature is perfect. We go back to rain for a few days tomorrow.
@missysave0612

A loss is a loss!
@Tazaria87
It can be a daunting task to declutter and/or get rid of old clothing. Lots of work, but it feels so good when you're done!
@missysave0612
Welcome to the team! Self-care is so important. I'm sorry for your loss. I love that you have three dogs:)

@missGYST
Skiing does take some stamina. Now you have a goal for next year's ski season:) I can't ski any more because of my knees:( I need a knee replacement. Banff and Lake Louise are absolutely beautiful. Very nice loss!
@Megan_smartiepants1970
That has got to feel good to have such great health benefits as a result of your hard work and dedication! Very nice!
@lindamtuck2018
Hope your ear feels better soon. Look at all of those green checks! Fantastic!
@roz0810
Wonderful loss! Looks like those adjustment worked well for you.
@lelbarou
Look at you go with those steps! It doesn't seem that long ago that you were having to take it easy with the walking. You are rocking it!

Wowzers, that’s a lot of job opportunities! I hope you get offered your top pick!! Let us know how it goes.
@missGYST and @red1185 I love Banff too! I am so incredibly lucky because I only live a 4 hour drive from Banff, and I tend to go a couple times a year. My BFF and I are talking about a trip in early May – but it depends on Covid #s which are on the rise here in Alberta (again). I used to ski in Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper when I was younger. It really is amazing skiing. My favorite was Sunshine. I thought it was so cool I could ski across the provincial border! LOL
@lindamtuck2018
I love SMART goals! I train a course on mental wellness, and one of the modules is about self care and managing stress. I trained is yesterday where I talked about SMART goals and got all the participants to make their own goals after I shared a few of mine. I told them I lost 70 pounds in the last year, and much of it I attribute to creating SMART goals for myself. One of my current ones is I will drink 54 ounces of water every day. It is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound. I think I would benefit from a re-eval of my goals though to help me get back on track.
I remembered to weigh in this morning!

Weigh In Day: Friday
SW (Starting Weight): 249 lbs
PW (Previous Weight): 210.4 lbs
CW (Current Weight): 209.8 lbs
This week was harder for me, I indulge in one cheat meal on Friday evenings and also alcohol but usually have recovered on the scale by Monday, but not this week - today is the first day I actually registered a loss from last week so I need to rethink my Friday night shenanigans. But I love it and I'm also eating 1200 calories regardless of how much I exercise, so I think I should have an allowance built up... Maybe I'm overthinking it.
In other news, I ordered the fancy jump rope because mine is an absolute ***** of **** and while it's so expensive the reviewers are raving and say it replaces 4-5 bad ropes, so the investment is secure. Plus 60 days to change my mind, so that's okay for me. I love jump roping! I'm trying to learn some tricks but so far just keep hitting myself with the rope lol.

I ended up doing one walk instead of two as I felt pretty tired yesterday! I'm still ahead of my competition a little bit, but this is the last day of the challenge and I want to win. I won't always be so focused on this, but I just want to respond to an implied comment that I couldn't win. Ahhh! NOT. I can win! For sure! Ha Ha!
@lindamtuck2018 - Thank you for your encouragement about my steps! Thank you also to @heatherbluebell and @iradi8 for your support and encouragement about my increased step count! woooohoooo!
@Bluetail6 - Awesome Loss! You just keep Killing it! So Amazing!
@lindamtuck2018 - As far as the job situation it is really only theoretical at this point. I don't have the two interviews till next week! I might not do well. Also, there are other issues at hand such as seniority etc because I am in a union. If I match someone else, but they have more seniority, then they will get the job for example. I have decided I will take what comes. I think the chances I get offered both are not super high, but I will take the one offered. My only caveat is seeing how the lower level interview job interview goes. The manager was a bit snappy with me about a question and I was put off. I will see if she is kind or not. If she isn't, I'm rejecting hat offer for sure.
Thanks @heatherbluebell about your comments about my job opportunites. As mentioned above it's all a bit theoretical and hypothetical now. We will see what happens.
I'm leaning toward taking the higher level course, but I might not get an offer for this one!
@missysave0612 - Welcome! Thank you for sharing something about yourself and your life. It's good to get to know about you! Love the sounds of your dogs. I'm awfully sorry about the loss of your soul mate. That has to be absolutely crushing. I'm not surprised you have sought comfort in food. It must be extremely difficult to move forward. Great job for taking action and joining us here. I love the fact that you have dogs. You can see Megan's dogs above. Just super cute! Welcome to our group! We are here for you! Let's get this done together. Alone it's so hard, but together WE CAN DO IT!4 -

@Bluetail6
Awesome loss! You are going to crack that new decade in the April challenge.
@TheresaM787
Great ride! I hope one day to be able to stay on that long. You keep me inspired.
@iradi8
I didn’t know you nned a knee replacement. It is one of the best decisions I made. Yes there are some limitations afterwards but getting rid of the pain was well worth it.
@lcfa5317
Nice exercise day!
@heatherbluebell
I love having goals. I do my best to meet them.every week.
@red1185
Nice steps!
@Piqueaboo
Nice loss! I think you need to figure out how important the Friday night is to you. For myself, if I didn’t have my treats every Friday I absolutely would not be able to stick with it. I do try to have a calorie average for the week by lowering my calories during the rest of the week. I know depending on what I eat it can take up to 4 days for the water weight to disappear. I think at last weeks weigh in I was still holding on to some water. I think you have been doing really well so keep doing what works for you.
@lelbarou
Nice steps! I think you did good slowing down for one day. I am sure you will beat them. Nothing gets me going then someone telling me I can’t. I used to love walking in the rain. It just felt so freeing. If the rain doesn’t stop by the time I go for my walk I will be hitting the treadmill.
@rlaskey2
I would love to do boxing. Is there a lot of pivoting?

I think it is safe to say I was still holding onto water weight from the Chinese food at last Friday’s weigh in. I am glad it is gone plus a little. I didn’t end up with a huge loss for the month but it’s a loss. It’s funny I had small monthly losses in January and March but did really good in February. I am going to try my best for April and I think the fact I am increasing my activity is helping.
My walk yesterday was short so I ended up walking around the apartment to get enough steps. I ended up with a cushion but the extra few minutes of walking won’t hurt me. Today I am going to a ladies coffee. It is a small group so i feel safe doing this. Afterwards, I will do the bike, weights and a walk. I want my check in to be fully green this week.
Happy FriYAY!

@missysave0612 welcome to our group. I am so sorry for the loss of your soul mate. I lost my long time boyfriend to Covid in December. This group was very supportive and a great blessing.
@roz0810 welcome and glad to have you with us.
@AlphaEliJoe welcome to our group.
@lelbarou great steps and hope you win your challenge.
@heatherbluebell SMART sounds interesting. How do you approach this for those of us that are time phobic? I used to work a high pressure job where all tasks had to be completed in a specific time frame. I am no longer able to handle that level of stress but still set measurable goals and tell myself that I will reach them with consistency but leave the time line open.
@Bluetail6 congratulations on the loss and you will be in a new decade soon!
@lindamtuck Great loss and so glad that you are finally able to take advantage of the fitness room in your new facility.
Have been reading everyones posts but been a little busy. On Tuesday, my cousin was murdered. He was a Correctional Officer in a penitentiary and along with a nurse was killed by two inmates trying to escape. He will be missed by those who knew him. We are taking his oldest sister out for lunch today as she refuses to be with the rest of the family until her sister leaves.
Have also been undergoing a formal test to diagnose Adrenal Insufficiency caused by my transplant medications. Not sure when the results will be forthcoming. Just seeing too many health care providers and getting tired of it. Am looking forward to getting back to exercise and sunny days without all this blasted rain! At least not overeating for the last 3 days and weight is slowly going back down to pre overeating levels. I am going to finally be brave and post some before and after pictures this week. Had my mom take some pictures of me yesterday and had no idea that that is how I look. Will try to post them if I can figure out how to convert them into jpgs.6 -

@lindamtuck2018 not a lot of pivoting initially but later in the program some gets added ins. I was never good at it. I go much slower than they do. I1

hi everyone. i'm excited to be in this group. downsizing is what i'm about right now. i'm in the middle of finally tossing out all of my 5x, 6x and 7x that i lived in for a few years and replacing them with 2x,3x and 4x. i was getting worried about being outside in windy weather. lol

a bit about myself...i'm 56, forced unemployment due to my weight. i'm hoping to be able to work again this year. i haven't been able to work since 2008. i was housebound for 1 1/2 years because i couldn't walk to go anywhere and i couldn't fit into our cars. 2 years and 6 days ago i started getting help from the veteran's hospital by being put on home-based care. on my first weigh in i was 566.4 lbs. it took me 6 months to lose my first 30 lbs partly because i was replacing bad habits with only slightly bad habits. things started really clicking for me in Oct 2019 and i have been losing 10-12 lbs a month since. i started "walking" - really waddling like a duck - in sept 2019 and my first one was 300 feet that took 4 1/2 minutes and 279 footsteps. i'm up to 3-4 miles a few times a week but i've had to cut back now due to low b.p. i'm currently 340 lbs. luckily i have decent weather for outside activity since i live in san diego.7
