Sorry for the short responses today. I was video chatting all morning so I am really behind. I went for my walk as it is going to rain soon. I was short on steps yesterday so I walked around the apartment to get it over 5,000.4 -
Steps 9,543
Did my should workout. This is my least favorite since I have to go really light due to being careful with my neck.
Quiet day, went to neighbors for Easter egg hunt and spent a couple hours by myself. Had a cheat dinner and grilled cheeseburgers.3 -
Daily Post April 4
Tracked Yes
Under Calorie Yes
Water 108oz
Steps 4698
Had a fantastic Easter with family both at home and then at my parents house. Tried a new recipe for my squash casserole that came out fantastic so I was happy about that. Everyone loved it and it wasn't super high calorie! I tracked everything I ate and managed to stay under calorie on a holiday, even stayed away from the cookies.
On another note, I just got an appt for my 1st Covid vaccine for Wednesday and am ecstatic!8 -
@iradi8 good luck with your surgery. have a good recovery and don't rush back.
@Tazaria87 way to go on your holiday eating. that casserole sounds interesting.
congrats to everyone that hit milestones. there's a lot of success on those lists. congrats to the new vaccine receivers. i hope you don't have any of the bad side effects.
@azkunk my doc has been trying to get me into cardio but they keep putting out more and more hoops to jump thru. i've already had to give 7 tubes of blood, urine, ekg, several b/p readings. the newest request was put in last week so i'm hoping they will finally agree to see me.
my stomach has been feeling "weird" all day. i woke up with it. i can't tell if it's hungry, full, sick, or just being ornery. i've tried safe food - english muffin, bad food - taco bell, water - 40 oz, antacids, exercise, burping. nothing is helping yet.4 -
Once again I came up shy on my 10 mile walk but I came closer today then yesterday ....today was a 4 hour walk and 9.06 miles I will take it .....No walking outside tomorrow because my daughter has a busy busy day with homeschooling ...we will resume to walking on Thursday after my podiatrist appointment4

4/3 9.053 steps walking
calories-even
logged-yes
8 hrs. sleep
Had people over for lunch and overate. Just not used to allowing room for dessert anymore and too unwilling to skip it. Another area that needs work. Got a short walk in the morning and one in the afternoon before evening church. Hope everyone had a great Easter.
@iradi8 congratulations on your weight loss and hope you recover quickly from your surgery.
@red1185 hope that you are feeling better today.
@bluetail6 so sorry for your loss and his family's loss.
@mszoueb congratulations on your 100 days of logging. Considering how glitchy this site can be it's a great accomplishment.
@rwood586 I hope that you can get into the VA. In my state(Iowa) they were sued for not going through their radiology backlog. Hope your stomach feels better.

I felt like it was a good week and I’m disappointed that it ended in a gain. I’m not going to let that deter me and will keep up the effort. The scale has got to come down sooner or later. My rower should ship this week. I hope the more intense exercise will kick start some loss
That’s the spirit! Positive and looking forward. Please do not let the 1/10 of a pound gain let you feel disappointed. You had a great week! It may be extra water.
You’re right. The scale will move down. You’re doing amazing.
A rower is intense. Yes. Weight loss and strength.
Keep up the positive work 👏👏4 -

AMAZING JOB EVERYONE5 -
Today has been a tough one. My daughter has state mandated standardized testing all week and they have mandated the tests must be in person but they aren’t providing transportation. That means having to figure out transportation to and from school for half days while still working. I thought I could work from home this week but things are pulling me into the facility in person so it’s a juggling act.
The scale was up a whole lb today. I went to change the batteries and it would not go back on. I tried 12 different batteries to no avail. So, I ordered the Renpho. I’m not looking forward to starting with a new scale. I just hope it’s not too far off from my old scale.
By far the worst part of the day was deciding to end my almost 14 yr old, miniature schnauzer’s suffering. He has been on the steep decline since being diagnosed with liver cancer in February and it’s reached that time. We will be having a vet come to the house tomorrow afternoon so that he go peacefully in his own bed and not anxious and scared in a vet’s office.
For goals today, my calories are a little low but macros are on track. I got 26 minutes of exercise in but I won’t hit my 10K steps.
Plan for tomorrow:
1. Wake up early and get in a 30 minute walk before I have to take my daughter in for her testing.
2. Take 2 walking breaks
3. Eat what I pre-plan9 -
@azkunk I'm sorry to hear about all of the stress that got tossed your way. Good luck with your new scale. My sincerest condolences for your family on the loss of your little member. At least he will get to be with his loved ones.
way to go, walkers. some of you walked more in a week than i can do in a month. lol
numbers for 4/5
steps - 7234
calories - under 1800 but i'm catching myself snacking more. a few nuts here, a few m&m there. by the time i try to write them down i've forgotten how much i ate. something to work on on both ends.
exercise - yes. walked 3.1 miles.
tomorrow i'm going to try to go bowling with my daughter. first time in about 25 years. i'll try to get a photo of the pins laughing at us.
my stomach still feels "weird". i'm hoping it decides what it wants to do tonight.5 -

Im doing a quick step in to give my info and go back to study. It's so bad that I can not spend time with you like before
But to be honest, I am also not seeing my friends. And my family more than 2 years already!
My weight is going up and down, but I must admit I forked up with the chocolate eggs.

I hope you get the transportation for your daughter figured out. Also, I'm sorry about your dog's suffering, and yours as well. I do think it is wonderful that the vet can come to your home. Our little one is up there in age as well.

My energy level has been very low this last week or so. I have been feeling so tired. I've taken naps during the day but still feel like I'm not getting enough sleep. I know its do to stressing over the purchase of a new house. Of course I'm a stress eater too so my weight will definitely be up this week. So ready to close on the house & get started with the updates it needs!
On a good note...our snowy weather from last week has now changed to high 60s low 70s this week!4 -
@azkunk
So sorry about your dog. It is great that the vet can come to your house. Lots of hugs to you and your family.
@rlaskey2
Nice steps! Cheat meals are ok every now and then.
@Tazaria87
Maybe you could share that recipe. Congrats on your vaccine appointment.
@rwood566
Sorry your stomach is off. Have you started any new meds? I felt awful last week and it turned out to be the antibiotics I was taking. M&M’s are one of my biggest downfalls. I personally don’t keep them in the house or I will eat them all. Maybe you can bag them and the nuts into single size servings. That way you know exactly how much is in each bag. You could weigh them and write the amount on the bags. Then you know exactly how many calories you had in your snack.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Keep trying until you get there!
@Beautyofdreams
I never pass on dessert at special occasions. I imagine this something you don’t have very often. Go back to your regular eating the next day. I am sure your weekly calorie average balanced out.
@TheresaM787
You should map out your biking. Pick a destination and pedal until you get there. There as to be an app for that.
@Z10Rtza
How are your studies going?
@lelbarou
A walk is a good walk no matter how short it is! Great job!
@missysave0612
I hope your house purchase comes together soon. I can relate to your stress eating. Maybe you can plan some activities that you can do when you feel stressed and want to eat.

I spent a good bit of the day and evening video chatting with my 8 year old granddaughter. She is in school today so hopefully I can get somethings accomplished today. She will video chat me as soon as she gets home from school. It is nice that she loves to talk to me so much.
I am off for a walk in a bit. Yesterday, I walked to Tim Hortons and back. I just got a tea and avoided the tea biscuit. This walk is challenging as it is longer so I will do it again today. Plus I get a reward with a cup of tea. I have a ton of housework today also. My weight jump on Saturday just over 3 pounds after our fish and chips on Friday. It has come down very slowly but this morning I had a big whoosh. It was surprising as I ate pasta for supper and I usually gain the next day.
Have a terrific Tuesday!6 -
Question
For those of you with a fitness tracker such as a Fitbit, how do you use it to help on your weight loss journey?0 -

It is a great motivator to get me up and moving ...With out it I don't think I would move much .... I gave my old garmin to my daughter so we have a competition to see who can get the most steps in a day1 -

I love my Apple watch I use it to track water, exercise and steps. There is also a MFP app but I never really explored it. The health app on my phone keeps track of all my data and shows me my trends including cardio fitness. There are three rings on the watch that you should close each day and I try to do that. The rings are activity (general calories), exercise (active minutes which only track if you meet a minimum effort of 'brisk walk') and stand (tracks whether you get up and move each hour for a goal of standing once in 10 separate hours). It buzzes if I don't stand which then cues me to walk at least 500 steps.2 -
