HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You need support to maintain, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

Hi, I’m super excited to join in on this challenge for April! After this past year I have definitely gone off track and want to get fit again! I don’t know about the rest of you, this last year kind of did me in😜. Going to Physio, getting my body in shape to start working out again at the same rate I was before, my pantry is empty of everything that it should be empty of LOL, my fridge is full of fruits and vegetables! I’ve been on track for about two weeks now, definitely starting to feel better already.
Thanks for letting me join your team, I believe I am on Mission Slimpossibles.

I am Teresa one of the Fat2Fit moderators and your Mission Slimpossibles captain along with Mark (@broncobuddee) The Mission Slimpossibles also have three incredible motivators, @AustinRuadhain, @raleighgirl09, and @Katmary71.

:star: Stuff you need to know! :star:

:star:Finally, let's get to know each other! Please share your name, where you live, and what brought you here to The Fat 2 Fit Challenge Group. If you have specific goals for this year, please share those as well. We are here to support and cheer you on! :)

I’ll go ahead with my introduction

As I said above, my name is Teresa! I’m 55, live in Georgia with my incredible husband, my mom, and our fur baby Maggie Mae. I work at my church as the ministry assistant and janitress. I also volunteer as a teacher in our children’s ministry.

I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life with lots of ups and downs along the way. I’m without a doubt a sugar addict and have taken real steps this year to overcome my addiction and gain freedom and control over my food. One of the ways that have helped me the most is intermittent fasting. I’ve been doing IF for two years and believe that it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I’ve tweaked my eating plan often over the years and have finally landed on low carb/Keto because it makes me feel my best, helps with my addiction, and keeps the scale moving in the right direction. I have lost 80 lbs. and am determined to get the last 25 lbs. off this year!

If you are interested in IF, I highly recommend Gin Stephen’s new book, “Fast, Feast, Repeat” and her podcast Intermittent Fasting Stories. I also think everyone should read Dr. Jason Fung’s, “Obesity Code.” It was life-changing for me!

As your captain, I promise to remain available and supportive! This group means so much to me as does the success of each one of you. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me any time. <3

    OK…your turn to share! :)

@Cornanda WTG! That's an awesome loss. Thank you, yes, I'm right around the corner! What a great NSV to fit in a shirt that was snug. Woo hoo! I'm so happy for you!

    @laurelfit57 Welcome to the team!

Hi all. My introduction: I live in Southern California with my husband and spoiled pug. I never had a problem with my weight until my mid-20s. At that time, I was put on some life-long medications for depression that cause weight gain. But it wasn't just those that caused my weight gain: it was poor lifestyle choices. Too many nights out at the club and then recovering with a fattening greasy breakfast. I've tried a lot of things to lose the weight: Atkins, Keto with Intermittent Fasting, the Mayo Clinic diet, calorie counting but the only thing that really fits my lifestyle and works for me is WW. I've been a member off and on for years now. I've lost nearly 30 lbs and have 53.4 lbs to go until goal. My hobbies include lots of reading, making arts and crafts, and camping. I've been a member of Mission Slimpossibles for, I think, about a year. It's been really rewarding and I find this to be a super supportive place. I hope the new people will also find it supportive.

Saturday check-in: Not much going on here today. Just the usual (housework, grocery pickup). I'm a bit stressed so I will try to relax.

My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS

@Cornanda Yayyy on your loss and on that shirt fitting you! I know how groovy that feels. B)

@mlhopp93 You have done so great this month!! You just keep doing what you're doing! :)

@bmotisko You have had an amazing month! You must feel so good that you are losing so much fluid. How much of your loss do you feel is actually fat loss? :)

@laurelfit57 Welcome to the team! We are glad you are here. :) Sounds like you are well on your way to getting back to being fit and healthy again. We are a great resource for support and motivation, so check in often.

@Katmary71 HaHa, I know the way our Fat2Fit months run can be a little crazy at times. That is good that Eric drove you to your appointment. Prayers that the results are all good for you.

@trooworld Does your acupuncture mat help you when you are feeling stressed? :)

Hi Team! Can’t believe it’s another month already! I was super excited to reach 80 lbs. lost and I ended the month with a 3 lb. loss. Just have to keep plugging along! B) This morning I did a hard booty workout and got such a kick when the trainer on the screen was holding her 15 lb. weights, breathing heavy, and talking about how hard that move was. I was standing there holding my 15 lb. weights, breathing hard and thinking, “I can’t believe I just kept up with the trainer!” I spent two hours on a Zoom call this afternoon with a group of Christian IF ladies that I’m involved with. Today, was my turn to share my story. I was nervous but it turned out to be a lot of fun and they were all very kind to me. Right now, I need to go finish prepping for tomorrow’s lesson for the kids. :)

Hi gang - the ones returning and the ones ambling on in!

I gotta say first - @TeresaW1020 and @AustinRuadhain and @Katmary71 are doing a great job leading and motivating this group! I have been seriously slacking as a team motivator, I am sad to say. I have wondered if I should be listed as taking a break from motivating - @TeresaW1020 I defer to you for this! As I continue getting into my job and riding this very high wave right now of much miore to do that I can get done, it has affected everything...well, and I haven't been trying as hard. I am going to get back on the horse by concentrating on at least posting a daily check in, even if it's super short, and reading everyone's posts. I'll respond as much as I can!

My intro is that I am 57, in NC and have been with the group about 1.5 years. It has been incredibly helpful for me - even when I am struggling, or maybe especially as I struggle! I was at my all-time low in September and have gained 17 pounds since then. Recently, this has affected my wardrobe - not hugely, but enough to know I really cannot afford to be nonchalant about what goes into my mouth.

My history is a lifetime of weight issues, my high being about 300 pounds. A big loss of 130 pounds that took me several years and then over several years gained 60-65 back. Two trips on MFP followed all of that, the first being shorter and less successful. This last has been for almost 2 years in April of this year. MFP is a game changer for me - even if it takes me several times and tries. Just using this tool has helped me not bounce back up 27 pounds or 37 pounds, which is enough to be grateful for, today. B)

I think getting back to that all-time low of around 165 lbs, and working to stay there, will be a huge wardrobe booster - meaning that I have discovered my body takes some time from loss or gain to shape and reshape. No matter what the number is, it's the wardrobe and a gazillion other aspects that really tell the story. It will also be a huge mood booster, a better-knees booster, easier-sleeping booster, no-heartburn booster, easier-exercising bosster.......and the list grows and grows. There is no down side to me keeping my weight at a reasonable place for my height (5'3) and bone structure (very large). Plenty of down side for gaining weight. It's pretty much that simple. Maria's weight-life lessons!

My personal motto is: NEVER GIVE UP!

@apple852hk I'm sorry that you were sick, I'm glad you are feeling better now.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you for the reminder about my acupressure mat, since I just got it recently, I didn't even think to use it yesterday lol! You are kicking butt, and keeping up with the trainer, well done! I'm sure that all of the ladies on your Zoom call were inspired by your story. <3

@naturalle9 Welcome! I'm 52, so we are close in age. I can identify with working on weight loss for years...it's been many years on my journey. I wish you luck on your journey!

Hi all. Yesterday was such a beautiful day here in Southern California--- it was irresistible to grab some beers and sit out on the walkway outside our condo. Unfortunately, those beers led to a bad decision: we ordered pizza. But I'll put my nose to the grind for the rest of the week and hopefully still experience a loss. It's supposed to get up to the 80s today, I can't believe we are having this weather already.

Hi group! I’m new to really all of this but very excited and grateful to be here. My name is Caitlin and I’m 2 weeks shy of 31, 5’9”, 161.4lbs. I live in Pennsylvania and have been loving the coming of spring!

I first got MFP in 2015 or 2016 and used it to track calories to try to lose weight. According to the app, in 2016 I was 220lbs. My life was so chaotic then and I didn’t even realize it. So I fell off, continued to gain and probably ended up between 280-300 (I wouldn’t dare look) before things changed in 2017.

I got out of a relationship that kept me drinking and binge eating, quit drinking and binge eating, lived on my own, and with the help of an amazing physical therapist in the middle got down to 135 by September 2018. I finished my masters in Counseling and moved back in with my parents December 2019.

Now I’m at 161 and my life is totally different than when I tried MFP before. I started working, got myself a Fitbit (nothing fancy), and have loved it since day 1. I do in home family therapy with kids who are at risk for out of home placement, so it’s super stressful and I drive a lot and past all of my former favorite places to binge. I’d like to get back closer to 135, so I’m hopeful that holding myself accountable here will be a helpful component to my new knowledge, routines, and gratitude for the process.

I’m super motivated to at least maintain a healthy weight as my previous intense gain had interfered with my reproductive health. No kids or plans but still have goals for health in general. Also had some mild trauma from going to the doctors while fat, so while it’s not systemically the healthiest motivator... fat shaming at the doctors office did in fact encourage me to intentionally and critically think about avoiding unhealthy weights, which has led me to want to work on maintaining healthy ones!! Yayyy.

Anyway, I have really learned to love my body regardless through my journey and am really excited to see what happens as I start stacking my habits. If you made it this far, thanks for reading! Good luck this month everybody! ❤️

I have definitely struggled most of my adult life with weight constantly going up and down. About two years ago I started working with a trainer and was feeling very fit and strong, only 10 lbs away from my goal weight before the world turned upside down😔.
Well… A year later, I have gained 20 pounds back. About three weeks ago I went back to Physio, to help me get ready to get back to the gym! He has been helping me with strength training, I can get back on my rowing machine again, which makes me so happy!!! So excited for the warmer weather, I can get outside again, walk my dog and visit with friends and family. I am in Alberta Canada, it gets darn cold here in the winter, but we are having an early spring 🌸! Very excited to take part in this challenge.

Good evening from sunny Dubai my fellow SPers! I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and kicking off the month well. Welcome @naturalle9, @kellyisonamission, @frankfindhomes, @laurelfit57, @Jypsy1, @fierce1alicia, @laurafthul, and @caitlingfry. It's awesome to have so many new folks.

So I'm Stew. I'm from the US (born in Louisiana, lived in 38 states, home is Columbus, GA) but have lived all over the MENA/GCC region for the last 16 years. I have an 18yo daughter graduating from Columbus HS this May and starting at Mercer in the fall. I'm 47, 6'7", and 276lbs this evening (formal weigh-in post to follow). I've been living in Dubai for the last couple of years and really digging it so far. I did the War & Peace version of my intro last month so I'll stick to the Cliffs Notes version this time. Was always a big kid (12lbs 8oz and 24in at birth, 6ft & 180lbs at 12yo) and my mom was a crazy dieter so food and weight and eating was all out of whack growing up. Thankfully I was an athlete thru college and was on active duty in the USAF so I managed to keep things in check until the late 90s when I got out of the service. Long story short, I didn't move for 25yrs and thought that 6 was a completely appropriate number of double bacon cheeseburgers to eat for dinner. At my heaviest, I was damn near 500lbs and in all honesty, just thought I needed to lose a few pounds - I had no idea how overweight I was. I started changing my portions about 10 years ago, four years ago I got off the couch, three years ago I got smart on what sorts of food worked for me and which ones worked against me, last year I started lifting heavy things and now I'm within a few weeks of hitting my "lost 200lbs" goal. I've been intermittent fasting for about 3 years (down to a two-hour window) and eating LCHF for 4 now. I lift weights every other day and try to get 200 miles in each month walking/jogging. I'm a big fan of MFP and the group, so again, welcome.

If any of that up there struck a chord or just sounds like something you'd like to discuss feel free to hit me up anytime.

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

Hi all, I'll start with my intro and then catch up on everyone's posts - I did read some over the weekend but didn't post anything.

I'm Christie (or Twisty) and I'm a 30-something Aussie mum of the best little two-year-old I've ever met! I've been overweight forever, diagnosed with PCOS at age 22 which explains a lot of my weight issues. I first joined MFP in 2012, but never really stuck to it until now, which I fully attribute to member-run challenges like Fat 2 Fit, Hogwarts and Game of Thrones, which all help me to keep on track when I feel like quitting. The support here is amazing!

Since coming back to MFP and making some slow, small changes in my lifestyle in the later half of last year, I have lost 10kg (22 lbs) and while I still have a lot to lose, I know that I have the tools to do it. I have also noticed a huge improvement in my fitness, where I don't get puffed climbing a flight of stairs now, I can hold yoga poses better and longer and transition between them more smoothly. The other day I fit into a pair of jeans that hadn't seen the light of day for several years and that just made me so happy!

I work full time as an accountant at a gold mine in a small country town. Hubby is the stay at home parent with the toddler, which works really well except I don't get a lot of time with the toddler - a couple of hours after I get home from work and then it's dinner & bed time for him and I'm gone before he gets up of a morning. So we make the most of our weekends and I try to include him on my fitness journey so he can grow up with a good role model - we go for walks or go swimming when the weather allows.
