    @Katmary71 I’m having a good chuckle thinking about all your cats on leash. Glad they are enjoying the outside safely! Also good work on getting through to the next stage in your search for pain management - sending hopeful thoughts for healing that you can get some relief soon.

    @TeresaW1020 LOL seriously I need told that. Unsure if habit or self soothing/destruction but the Oreos had to be placed somewhere else 😂 I’m really digging crunchy (celery and broccoli were ok - and Oreos...) and soft noodles. I want all the udon right now because it’s all about the textures.

    @Jactop had to change my reaction from 👍 to 😃 because of all your progress! Go girl & brag about that!!! Good work I’m super impressed!! Also, what are “NSVs?” I love a good acronym 🤣

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hi guys thanks for all the well wishes and warm thoughts. I am feeling like hot garbage and trying to lay as low as low as possible. My mom texts me when she and my dad are done eating so I can go down and grab a plate and come back up. It sucks, I miss them and it’s only been like 2 days of this. The food thing sucks too.
    I’m switching between watching shows/movies & playing video games right now. I have some books shelved and ready to go but the ones I have out of storage are pretty heavy and/or self help books that I just don’t want to deal with right now. Maybe I’ll get on the dreaded Amazon and find some books that are actually speaking to me since I shouldn’t dare breathe into a public library book.
    It’s my weigh in day so when my back and joints give me a minute to get up I’m gonna handle my business.
    @Caitlingfry I've been thinking about you. Hoping your symptoms pass quickly and dont get any worse.
    @laurelfit57 So sorry! You are right. I just missed your post from Sunday. I'll talk to my eye doctor about my prescription. :smile:
    Just realized I wrote up there that I tolerated broccoli but my mush brain typed that wrong and it was carrots and CELERY that were good and crunchy. I had some broccoli cheddar soup for lunch and that was pretty good. Haha
    Awesome weigh in as always, @davidji82 !!
    @trooworld That doggie of your is a pistol! Rubbing his little face on you guys…shameful…but funny. In regards to the Green plan, tomorrow will be my first weigh in being on it. I feel like it’s going to be hard for me to lose weight because I eat so many zero point veggies. Fruits don’t worry me because I usually only eat one serving a day. But with veggies…for instance, my breakfast was a banana (0) and lunch today was a cup of boiled yukons (3), steamed cup of broccoli (0), and a salad (romaine, cabbage, radish all 0) with 1 point for the bakon bits and 2 points for the dressing. So I had an entire plate full of food and it was only 6 points total, which is all I’ve consumed of my allotted 30 points...and it’s already past 3pm. I’m eating a TON of zero point foods. I don’t know…some days are like this where I’m under the 30 points, but totally satisfied. And other days I eat into the weeklies and feel like I’ve consumed thousands of calories. I guess I just have to trust the system and that my veggier days balance out the junkier ones. Man…do I even make sense? Anyway, I hope your stress diminishes quickly and you can get back on track. Hugs!
    @Katmary71 So far, the only Joe Hill book I’ve read is Heart Shaped Box, which I think you recommended to me. I haven’t had too much down time to enjoy a good book lately. I’m an all-or-nothing personality, so when I start to read a book, I don’t want to do anything else until I finish it. Like my butt will plant itself on the couch and sit there until the wee hours, reading until my eyes cross! But…if you recommend another title of his, let me know! And congrats on FINALLY getting approved for the drug test…then we just have to hope for a super fast referral. I don’t know all your struggles, but I can commiserate because I’m dealing with all the garbage for my mom. I mean, really. She’s about to turn 78 years old…has an implanted stimulator in her back in which the battery died 5 years ago…she’s basically falling apart…and the nurse at the pain specialist office kept fussing at her to pee in a cup. My opinion is that, at that age, if she were getting illegal narcotics, she wouldn’t even BE there dealing with them! Just give the old people the meds. Pain in the *kitten* fo’ sho’! Sending hugs! Cats on leashes crack me up. My sweet Baby Chicken (yes, that was my cat’s name) that I had several years ago hated being on a leash. As soon as I’d get it on her, she’d plaster her belly to the floor and look so scared. I tried leading her outside, but she refused. It was hilarious!
    @TeresaW1020 Good job on staying away from that evil candy. Is it located in a spot for all the people at church to share? Just wondering if you could move it someplace out of view so you don’t even think about it? I’m sure you’ll do just fine for the rest of April. We’ve got time. I love the quote you added. I’m adding it to my weight loss journal as a reminder that it doesn’t matter how slow I go…as long as I continue to move forward.
    @Jactop You simply MUST have chickpeas air-fried! They are so crunchy and perfect! I drained and blotted a can of chickpeas then mixed them with 1 tsp oil and dashes of spices (we like salt, pepper, cumin and paprika). 390 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes with a good shake after 4 minutes. Perfection! We had them in fajita tortillas with shredded lettuce, roasted pepper and onions, sour cream and fresh squeezed lime. Oh man! Now I want them again! Awesome job on your NSVs, too!
    @mlhopp93 Hugs on the weigh-in, but how awesome are your NSVs!?! Don’t give up! That is so freakin’ AWESOME that you’ve lost almost 100 pounds since September! Dang am I ever jealous!!!
    Hey, everyone! It’s a nice, quiet, rainy Saturday here in Southwest Michigan. This morning my daughter and I went to visit my son’s girlfriend and I did her nails (see cute photo below). Took a couple hours because I painted and stamped them and we got distracted because my son called…and we hadn’t heard from him in a couple weeks. All he could tell us was that he’s in the Persian Gulf and that the next time we hear from him will be in another couple weeks when he’s somewhere around England. I’m so proud of him for serving our Country, but dang…I want my boy back home! Back to back deployments suck! It was fun for the 3 of us to chat with him at the same time, though.
    I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend (what's left of it, anyway) and you make good choices! Thanks for being here for me!
    @vegan4lyfe2012 The candy was in the children’s church room and one of the other staff members started eating it and then we were all into it. It’s gone back into that room and will NOT be touched again by me. What adorable nails!! And that is great that you got to hear from your son. We are all very proud of him for his service to this country. :)
    @caitlingfry I sure hope you start feeling better soon!! <3
    @Jactop You are doing so amazing!! I also felt that IF was the missing piece of the puzzle when I started it. I do want to fast longer than I have been. I’m going to work on that this coming week. Congrats on dropping a BMI point!! We are both getting closer to that normal range. And you will reverse your Type 2 Diabetes. Just keep working at it! :)
    Hi team! So, today was a much better day with food, fasting, and exercise. I feel like I’m back to where I want to go and just need to continue to push a little harder. Today, my mom told me that my younger sister is going to try to schedule a double knee replacement for this fall. She is in such terrible shape with her weight, health, and knees. I feel awful for her but even more motivated to not let my body control my life. I started binge-listening to a new podcast called Food Junkies: Recovery from food addiction. Really good stuff!!
    @trooworld thanks for the suggestion but my mind is too overwhelmed to try and settle. I'll try listening to a song as a way to stop amd take notice
    [quote="trooworld;c-
    @apple852hk It sounds like you need a plan for stress. Have you tried deep breathing exercises or meditation? It may help to do either of those. Your walks should help, too.
    @TeresaW1020 thanks for reassuring me sugar addiction is real. It is so hard to combat amd overcome. What helped you get out of a sugar addiction habit? Beyond eating something healthy instead.
    [quote="TeresaW1020;
    @apple852hk Sorry that you are having stress and turning to chocolate. The way you describe how you consume the chocolate bars in one sitting without really enjoying them and just trying to eat them as fast as you can really remind me of myself when I’m on a sugar binge. Sugar addiction is a real thing and there are serious studies that show how sugar is more addictive than heroin or cocaine. It’s no joke and it’s not your fault. There are great resources if you are interested in helping you. Eating more meat and going low carb can also really help with sugar addiction. Just keep doing your best! <3
    @Jactop thanks for explaining it was cortisol than chocolate that lead to my gain.
    I love that eating cutted up carrots helped you. I tried that in the past but I ate so many raw carrots, that I had a stomach ache and couldn't sleep. I have no self control and low self worth, so I'm punishing myself without acknowledging it. I need to find a habit that isn't a food alternative. That's why I folded origami cubes. But now I folded too many.
    [quote="Jactop;.
    @apple852hk sorry about your rough day. The gain was more likely from cortisol than the chocolate. I found a substitute for my chocolate binging. I started keeping cut up carrot medallions in a ziploc bag right at the front of my fridge so it's the first thing I see. It wasnt intentional. I bought a bag that had the biggest carrots I've ever seen so I cut them onto medallions instead of sticks. They work great as a delivery system for hummus or dips, they're a nice side crunch with a sandwich instead of chips and its surprising how satisfying "mad chomping" on a carrot can be. It's gotten me over a few rough patches
