You have both mentioned that you have not been as serious as you need to be about losing weight in the past couple of weeks or so. Now, then, is the time to reexamine your actions and your thoughts and to come up with a plan for the new month....

This is also true for me, and something that I struggle with. I call it my F-it attitude. It comes up when I feel stressed or don't see results as fast as I would like.

But also, I REALLY need to own up to the fact that I am doing just enough to mostly maintain, so it is not surprising that I am mostly maintaining. I've got my food and water dialed in pretty well, and have for years. I have a mental block with exercise that I'm working on.

I used to, for a period of time anyway, be very much into exercise. I ran an ultramarathon every month for a year and a half, then moved into doing sprint triathlons and group workouts with other mom friends. Then I took up yoga and was doing yoga every day.

All that changed when I went back to work full time, and I think I have been using it as a free pass to give myself permission to skip or skimp on exercise, or even MOVING during the day.

And to be honest, I check FB WAYYYYY too often.

So, admitting you have a problem they say is the first step, here I am admitting. I feel hopeful that not all of us are always doing 100% great all the time. We all have ups and downs, and that makes me normal, but also gives me hope I can do better. AND SO CAN YOU!!!! <3<3<3

@annabananamc so happy that you got to spend time with your cousins. That is WAY more important than sticking to your diet plan for a day. Tomorrow is a new day, and after the visiting and hugging you will be in a much better frame of mind.

You have both mentioned that you have not been as serious as you need to be about losing weight in the past couple of weeks or so. Now, then, is the time to reexamine your actions and your thoughts and to come up with a plan for the new month. Think about the types of exercises that you like to do, or ones that you feel really good about doing, and then make a schedule to incorporate them into your day or your week. Think about the types of healthy foods that you enjoy eating that make you feel satisfied and put them on your grocery list. And keep your kitchen well stocked so that the need to order takeout because there is "nothing to eat" or "nothing good to eat" is not there. Conversely, any trigger foods that you just cannot eat in moderation need to not be on that list or in your pantry. And then you need to think about your "whys". Really think about them. Why have you not been as serious lately as you need to be, and why do you want/need to lose weight?

Amber, you mentioned bingeing. I know sometimes when I binge it is because, subconsciously, I don't want to put in the work. It just seems too hard. So, I binge on something, and then, since I have already screwed up the day, I just eat whatever I want for the rest of it and tell myself that I will get back at it tomorrow. Well, the "getting back at it" is always harder than just doing the work and not bingeing in the first place.

Just some food for thought for both of you and hopefully a little nudge. I am hoping that some little tidbit in this post will resonate with each of you and get you back on the right path.

Thank you for this! Honestly, a lot of what you said, is how I feel. When I have my moments of wanting to indulge is because I just have moments where I think “is this what I wanna do forever?” But when I don’t track, I’m not mindful of what I’m eating. My thing is I just need to stop with the excuses and just do it. I’m the type of person where I’d do anything for everyone else, but when it comes to me, I always put myself last and don’t give myself the same attention that I give others. I know the way should be reversed. I think that’s something I definitely have to work on, it’s going to be one of my goals for this month! This month is my birthday month and I turn 30! I really want my 30s to be different so I need to start doing stuff for me! I really appreciate the comments cuz it does help! It gets me thinking and analyzing!

    logged: all but dinner
under: likely, but don't know for sure
    exercise: yes, my knee exercises
    steps: 7,075
    water: yes, 10 cups

My son came over and cooked me a belated birthday dinner of salmon, Brussels sprouts and mashed cauliflower and it was delicious! When it's a gift like that, taking the time to weigh and measure (and then ultimately having to use a best guess entry anyways) detracts from the gesture, so it wasn't even a consideration. The meal was healthy enough, with the only "added" calories being a little butter and olive oil to pan fry the sprouts and sour cream added to the cauliflower. The salmon was done in foil in the oven with salt, pepper and lemon, so nothing added there. I had 500 calories left over for dinner, so that is why I feel I was probably close on my calories.

Sounds delicious! I love mashed cauliflower. True it doesn't taste like mashed potatoes but I don't expect it to so It is good. Especially with a little sour cream and maybe some chives. Ok, now I'm hungry. 😂

He couldn't find chives in the grocery store, so he added some green onion instead. :)

    WEIGH-IN

172.4......down one pound from the last time I weighed-in. Down three pounds for the month. These are pounds that I have lost over and over again, so I am really going to try to make this the last time I lose them!!

OMG I did not expect a loss this week after a bad start, but finished stronger: 161.8

Maybe by June could get into 150s...it's a VERY slow road for this 59 year old...

    Starting weight 4/2: 163.2
    4/9: 162.4
    4/16: 162.8
    4/23: 162.6
    5/01: 161.8
