Good Day Everyone... π
Woke up this morning... Didn't sleep great, felt meh. Decided after 3 days straight of walking I was going to take a rest day after all. Checked my blood glucose and it was down to 83... So I took that as a sign, that rest was a good choice.
Work is a complete freak show daily now, I can't find any time to do anything but work. And it's not the fun, make you feel good inside kind of work. As everything is rush, rush, and dead lines.
My IronMaster Super Bench Pro arrived along with the Leg Exercise attachment today... Just in time for leg day tomorrow. Rushed to the Dentist at 3:00pm, to get the first part of my Crown done... (2 more appointments to complete that process)... Rushed home, dragged the boxes into the exercise room, and Assembled everything.
The bench is absolutely lovely, and super easy to change from incline to decline in an instant... The bench I wanted, and wished I waited for originally. leg attachment looks great, and it set it up so it fit's my FiancΓ©'s short little legs for both leg extensions and Curls. I'm also have short legs (and a tall torso). Although I haven't laid on the bench and tried to wrap my legs around the cushions yet. I'm stoked to start using it. I even ordered a Hybrid bench top for it, that is Competition wide on one for people like me with wide shoulders so I can get proper shoulder blade support when benching, and a narrow side for when you want more shoulder freedom during fly's for instance. Oh heck it's got so many good features but I'll stop boring you. lol ππ (okay okay, I'm going to order the Preacher attachment as soon as it becomes available, and lets not forget the wall organizer to kind of organize all these darn attachments). ππ
So... By this time it's like 7.... Then Cooking supper... We Just ate, and I came here to post this... Now I gota run, and make lunches and try to get to bed real soon, so I'm ready for more walking and LEG DAY tomorrow.
Whew.... Peace out Team! πͺπππ€

Had my 3rd skin graft on my right foot today. Have another scheduled for next week. They are basically little painless bandaids of skin but require me to stay off my feet. Still do upper body weights and some limited stationary biking. Have exceeded calorie allowance for the last 3 days and weight took an wnormous jump up. Will work on it tomorrow. Purchased a used Apple series 5 smart watch and it arrived yesterday. Hopefully I can figure out how to set it up for fitness tracking by the time grafts are over. I get to see an endocrinologist in August for lightheaded spells and to adjust dosage of my latest transplant medication. This is quite a bit better than December so time canβt pass fast enough. So jealous of all your walks and exercise. Thursday my town opened a glow in the dark trail. Can hardly wait for when I can walk it and relearn to swim.
Welcome to all the new members and looking forward to reading your posts.3 -

Did he mention how to reduce the swelling? Is it the old fashioned RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate)?
@red1185
Congratulations on finishing this crazy pandemic school year ππ»ππ» Well done getting in all of those high steps in, that's a fantastic showing π I'm glad you're keeping up with the NSVs π€
@888Angie888
That's a terrific mindset, I'm glad you are giving yourself some grace π€
He did not mention anything about the swelling .... I have been off my feet for a month ...the swelling in my right foot is still there .... ughh3 -
Hello Everyone;
Thank you for posting to me. I am tired. A good kind of tired. Iβm going to go to bed, as it all starts over in the morning!! Things are going well, and I will respond to posts tomorrow. Thank you all again for your posts.1 -
@tazaria87 happy birthday.
@Beautyofdreams I hope the grafts take. Good luck with your light headedness.
Check in for 5/27:
Steps - 1726. Stayed home for an online meeting and 24 hour urine. Starting up again tomorrow.
Calories - about 1600. Salt still a bit high. I'll find out in the morning if I'm collecting water but I think I am. Took in 84 oz water and only 12 out so far.
Exercise - nope. Gym in the morning before giving to the local vampire bank.3 -
18,173 steps
Lots of water
Under my calorie goal
In answer to the question I get most of my steps outside. M-Th I walk my daughter to and from school which is about 2 miles. Everyday if I'm feeling well I walk my 3-4mile walk. I also walk to and from the store for shopping. I try to walk to walmart and back F-S to account for not walking to and from her school twice. If I'm short steps I walk in place while watching zombie TV shows and run in place for a minute here or there. Today I reached 7lbs lost for May if I can hold it or drop lower I met my goal for the month. π6 -
Hi all,
So it's been a few days on around 1500 cals since restaurant meal on Tuesday. I thought the scales would of travelled back down more, but they haven't really so, getting a loss this week looks unlikely now with the weekend upon us.
As I said, I can move back down in the next few weeks so in the grand scheme of things it isn't much of issue at present, but it is irking me the aspect of how you can eat just a main and a dessert and so easily totally wipes out things - the potential weight loss and at least 4 full green months!! Like I know the reasonings why behind it, but it's like damn, only one meal cause such damage! Feels a bit like the saying of only have to look at food and put weight on.
In other news, looking forward to trying to do the stuffed crust pizza recipe I posted recently with cheesestrings tomorrow!6 -

@Poobah1972
Your post had me smiling over here, Johnathan you sound like a little kid at Christmas unwrapping his toys! It's awesome that you are so excited to use all of your new exercise equipment. You and Lynn sound like a wonderful team π
@Beautyofdreams
That's good to hear that the grafts are painless. I know it must be driving you a bit mad to have to stay off of your feet while you heal, you'll be back out there soon enough π€ That glow trail sounds like it's out of a movie. Congrats on your new toy also (both you and Johnathan got some new toys), the Apple Watch. It comes with a pedometer and workout app installed, I've been using the Map My Walk app since before I got my watch, so I added that to it.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
I know it's old fashioned thinking, I honestly don't know it RICE is the correct protocol for swelling any more. Maybe ask? It doesn't seem right to me that you'd have swelling, after being off of your foot for a month. π€
@rwood566
You are so good at staying around 1,600 calories ππ»ππ» Glad the urine and blood tests are coming up, I know you want answers. Yes, it sounds like you're retaining water. Fingers crossed that the tests will provide answers.
@Beverly2Hansen
Congratulations on your three β NSVs! My goodness, that was a tremendous step count! Thank you for sharing how you reach your steps. Wow, my feet and hips just did the math and said "NOPE! Don't even think about it woman." π€£
Wow! Seven pounds, that's a huge loss for May ππ»ππ»
@mszoueb
Well done on staying around 1,500 calories since your restaurant meal ππ»ππ» You sound like you're back on track with what you're eating. Sometimes, often for me, our weight just naturally fluctuates. When I did the free trial of Noom, that was one of the first lessons - how weight "ebbs and flows",and "stay the course and you will reach your destination." You didn't wipe away your progress, you built up some incredible and healthy habits. Please give it time, give yourself some grace, know you are doing well. π€3 -
Steps 20,811
This one I am proud of, I rarely get this high. I did a beach walk and cut it a little short for my foot. It didnβt start acting up until the very end then went food shopping. I tried getting more healthy snacks for the week so letβs see if I can actually grab those versus my families more processed foods. Dinner was portobello burger with Homemade French fries.7 -

Weigh In Day: Friday
SW (Starting Weight): 249 lbs
PW (Previous Weight): 213 lbs
CW (Current Weight): 211.4 lbs
I'm finally back home and it took me a couple of days to get settled (I reached 215 earlier this week) but now it seems to be calming down. I found out this morning that my grandmother, for whom I had gone home to help with, passed away, so I'm really sad, but as she was 97 and had a really good life, it's a great way to go. I'm happy I spent the final weeks of her life with her and we phoned last night, too, and she was in a good mood and maybe she kinda knew she was going to leave us... I don't know.
It's gonna be weird for a week or so I think, but this is probably the most normal thing in the world, losing a grandparent.

ITS FRIDAY Boy & Girls! WHooooo HOOOOOOooo!
Good morning! Only got 10 more minutes of sleep last night, but somehow, I scored 10 points higher in my sleep score. I'll Take it. π
Very cool this morning this morning in Northern Ontario. Felt great outside. I did my laps, and once again it time get my heart all revved up. And just for good measure when I climbed the final hill of the final lap, I through myself into over drive and slogged faster than ever before as I blistered toward my house. Driving my heart rate all the way up to 168. A new high for me! π
Only problem is, I'm now completing 5 laps faster than ever and at this rate I won't be posting anymore 5 laps calorie burns over 600. DOH! Which means I might have to make 6 laps my normal thing from now on? For some reason I'm quite stubborn about actually doing that. So, I'll just have to work on it and see what takes place. π
FITBIT Tip... I found the secret to getting my Fitbit to accurately track my heart rate is to be conscious of not holding my left hand in a fist or tensing up. Just keep that arm and forearm relaxed out there. Even holding a hand rail with that hand when I climb the stairs will cause it to mess up.. And it's a pain in the *kitten* trying to get up the stairs without using it. lol Oh and I also continue to where it on the soft side of my wrist when exercising. When Weight lifting I where it much higher up my arm, reason this works is the weight training gloves i use stop it from sliding down, so the watch remains happy. meh... Anyway, just in case anyone is having issues thought I would mention it.
After work is Leg Day... I'm not sure what to expect. I'm not doing any weight at all on squats. For now, I'm just trying to concentrate on form, and getting my own body weight down low, and up again. Should be fun. lol
Okay that's it... Gota get my cute little *kitten* out here, and on to work. πππ
Have a fantastic Friday my Friends! π€π€π€3 -
@TheresaM787
You had another awesome day. My dietitian told me everything counts as your water consumption except sugary drinks. So I count my tea and coffee. I donβt know if this is something you can do. On my best step days I donβt even get 4 miles in my day so you are killing it with the walks! I have the luxury of sleeping to whenever I want so I am crooked as sin if someone woke me up at 5 am. I usually get up between 6:30 and 7:30. Enjoy your day with the kids.
@Poobah1972
Another great walking day! Love all those zone minutes!
@Beautyofdreams
It is great you are finding ways to be active while getting your grafts. I really am jealous of your Apple Watch. It is something I want for my birthday. ThAt glow in the dark trail sounds intriguing.
@mszoueb
You have been on fire since January. I know this has to be incredibly frustrating but if you do have a gain on Monday, you know that it will move downward again. Sometimes when I have a big jump from sodium I feel the same way. I know you wonβt let this derail you and those green weeks will continue.
@Bluetail6
Hope you slept well as you have earned.
@Beverly2Hansen
Awesome steps! I love that you are so mindful of reaching your step goal daily. Thatβs a super loss for the month!
@rwood566
I hope they can get to the root of the dizziness with all your tests. Enjoy the gym this morning!
@rlaskey2
Wow! Thatβs a lot of stepping. Great job!
@Piqueaboo
Nice loss! My condolences on the loss of your grandmother. Hugs!

@Poobah1972 thanks for the tip. Getting better means going further. I was hesitant like you when I was starting out. If you only want to do 5 laps, maybe start adding a walk around the rest of the neighborhood?
@mszoueb your post brought back the saying I learned about us having to pet the tiger 3 times a day. You got bit on that one meal. It'll take time to heal, like all tiger bites, but you have a great plan to help it. We all get bit sometimes. Great work on your calories.
@Piqueaboo I'm very sorry about your grandmother. It was good you got to be with her like that and chat last night. I have the same thought about them somehow "knowing" when it's time. Excellent weight loss for the week and welcome home.

Thursdayβs check in
βSteps 5,075

β Walk
β Physio 2/2
Ok, so close on the steps but otherwise lots of green. I am waiting patiently for my doctor to call. I should have taken the option to go to the clinic. Itβs pouring rain here. If I didnβt have to go to the store I would do a walk up and down the halls. Pain is a little better today so I am going to try and reach my step goal.
As for the weight, I am happy. I am actually over 5 pounds lighter than what I weighed the day before I took my diet break. I have found a way of eating that has practically reduced the nighttime eating to zero. As a result my insulin requirements have have dropped drastically. Overall, I am getting my steps daily. Ok that sound awfully like I am bragging. Enough from me.
Happy FriYAY!6 -

Went to the gym. Hopped on the recumbent bike for the first time. 7.25 miles in 30 min before cooldown. Rump went numb after 20 minutes. Lol. Legs were jelly but I felt proud. Now for lunch then off to give blood to red cross vampires.6

@rwood566
You are really inspiring! I love your spirit. You really did great on the recumbent bike. 7.25 miles? That is really fantastic:) Bikes are so hard on the rump.
@lindamtuck2018
So happy for you! You are really doing so well! Five pounds after your diet break is wonderful! Look at all of that green! I am glad the night time eating has not been a problem now with your new way of eating. What has made a difference for you with that?
@Poobah1972
You are doing fantastic as well!
@Piqueaboo
I'm so sorry about the loss of your grandmother. How wonderful that you were able to spend time with her before she passed. What a nice, long life at 97:)

@Beautyofdreams
A glow in the dark trail sounds awesome! I am glad to hear that the skin grafts are painless. Nevertheless, I can't imagine how hard it must be with the waiting to be healed. Once you are able to walk and swim, you're going to do great again.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
That's awful that you still have swelling even without walking:(
@Beverly2Hansen
Love those NSVs! Those are so important.
@mszoueb
You are so right. The weight does seem to come on so very fast, and it comes off so very slow. I try to focus on the trend and not the ups and downs because those ups can be frustrating. I feel your pain though.
@Bluetail6
You've been a busy bee. We are finishing up here at our beach condo today. I'll be headed home this evening. We also did lots of work while here. I'm just hoping we have a lot of rentals soon! I wish I could stay:) Do you enjoy visiting your condo? It's in NM, right?
@rlaskey2
Look at those steps!!! Wow! Beach walks are so amazing. For me, it just refreshes my soul. Do you find that to be true as well? My beach walks have come to an end for now. Until next time...
@Poobah1972
Six laps - go for it! Thanks for the Fitbit tips!
@rwood566
Love that "pet the tiger" thing. I'm going to remember that:)

Hi I thought I would introduce myself. My name is amy. I am 51 and a mother of a daughter who is 26 who is away going to Veterinary School and a 19 year old son who is still at home. I need to lose about 50 lbs. My main form of exercise is walking. I try to get 10,000 steps a day but sometimes it is a challenge. I started this week doing 1000 jumps with a cordless jumprope and has really got my heartrate up. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Hope everyone has a good weekend .9
