What a beautiful Tuesday morning... Raining, but I don't give a hairy rat's *kitten*! 😉
OOOoooh Man, ever since walking my GKI number are looking sweet, and all it really means I'm burning more fat than ever before to fuel my activities. Feel like Macho Man OOOoooooohh YEaaaahHHHH! 😄
I like this Pictogram, as it shows all the varying stats against the same time line.... You can see that lovely hill I have to climb, lap after lap. lol
You will notice It says I went 1.25 miles today. That seems like a stretch, but I decided to do a wide final lap today. I think I may do more wide laps in the future, as opposed to doing an extra lap. At least for now. 🙂
Getting Stronger, every day! 😄
Good Morning everyone, have an amazing Tuesday! And stay out of trouble you hear!? 😋😎
Almost forgot...

We had just a touch of humidity the other day and I could feel it when I walked. You did great on the bike and green on 2 more of your goals! Way to go!
@rlaskey2
Sometimes it has to be a simple dinner. Why is shopping so exhausting?
@Tazaria87
You have made an amazing transformation. Your energy level must have increased drastically. You have worked so hard for this and the finish line is right there. Just amazing!
@Beautyofdreams
Your story in the blog is absolutely amazing. I encourage everyone to read it. You have overcome one hardship after another. I know this skin graft is going to be hard but you can get through it. You are already trying to find ways. Your strength is admirable.
@rwood566
Look at those steps! I was wondering if you could share some of your dessert ideas.
@Poobah1972
I just learned what gki stands for and your numbers are great. Awesome day!

Monday’s check in
✅Steps 6262

Yesterday was very challenging. After my walk the pain in my leg and back was at an all time high. That coupled with the fact my blood pressure has been high really got to me. It was really high at my dentist appointment last week, I measured it a few times at the pharmacy and I bought a meter on Sunday. I never had problems with high blood pressure before so I am going to call the doctor today. I am going to try and use this to light a fire in me. I got started on my journey over 2 years ago as my diabetes was bad and I used the fear to get me going. I need to harness that fear again. I apologize for not cheering everyone on yesterday.
Anyways, it is raining yet again. I am going to walk anyway but I bought an umbrella yesterday. I got pretty wet during my walk yesterday so I said enough already. ☔️
Have a terrific Tuesday!5 -
Alright guys, I got my pictures put together in a collage. Hopefully it turns out ok. So, the first one is me at my son's baptism 5 years ago. It's one of the only pictures I have of me at my highest weight. The next picture is of me last year when I started this current journey. The last two are me from today.
Those pictures really show your journey and I can see why people were stopping you and asking about your weight loss. You look fantastic - thanks for sharing your journey.1 -
@Bluetail6 That is a beautiful poem, thanks for sharing. You joined close to the same time as I did, and although I am not yet successful, I look at you and see where I can be when I start moving the right direction - thanks for the motivation.
To all of the steppers - I know we all have different goals and I want to congratulate EVERYONE who has been walking your little hearts out! Good on you12 -
I thought I'd share the link to @Beautyofdreams story. I first became acquainted with you prior to your Fiance's illness, which led to his death, not knowing all of the other challenges you had faced. I was astounded at your ability to keep going during the turmoil. Thank you for sharing your story with us - way to go!!!

Way to go Linda👏👏 ✅✅✅ so glad you bought an ☔️, still so impressed that you walk in the rain. So happy that you’re sleeping!
@lmf1012
That’s a huge accomplishment staying under your calorie goal every day 🙌🙌
oh my gosh, I used to hate exercise. I had so many excuses not to exercise. I listened to Atomic Habits and one of the suggestions that I heard was to pair something I do and enjoy everyday, with something I wanted to change. I paired morning coffee with Peloton (started cycling low and slow- so that I’d be able to ride again the following day without being sore). At first I didn’t enjoy cycling. Didn’t want to do it. Slowly, it became a habit and I was eventually able to increase my endurance.
@Tazaria87
Congratulations on all ✅ yesterday and for working out after you put your kids to bed👏👏
I’m so glad you posted! Be proud of your hard work.
@Beautyofdreams
That was an inspirational article. 🤗 Thank you Deb for allowing MFP to publish it. You’ve been through so much, overcame enormous obstacles, learned what works for you and shared so many helpful suggestions to make our process easier. Thank you again for sharing and once again CONGRATULATIONS on all of your success 🥳🎉🎉🎉1 -
Thank you everyone ........Still very sore and it is bruised (like black n blue bruised) He didn't bandage it up so my pants are hitting the staples which is not helping with the pain3
-
Would it please be possible to change my weigh in day this week to Wednesday instead of Thursday as I won't have scales from Thursday till Tuesday. Hope this is OK1
-
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Does the surgeon want the area to be left without a bandage? If he didn’t inform you to keep it uncovered, maybe his office staff can ask him, since it’s adding to the pain & it’s rubbing against your pants, can you bandage it0 -
OMG- I just completely broke down on the phone with my doctors office but it all worked out even better than before.
I have been waiting weeks to see the endocrinologist and my appointment was scheduled for 5/19. My son is “graduating” 8th on the 20th. But due to COVID they had to change things and schedules the ceremony for the exact time of my doctors appointment. I tried to reschedule and was told the next available appointment wasn’t until 6/8 and I completely broke down in tears. I guess the receptionist had pity on me because she found a cancellation and I am now going this Friday.
I am so relieved and it actually felt cathartic to break down. I didn’t realize how bad and stressed I was feeling until now.9 -
@azkunk What a roller coaster of emotions! I’m glad everything worked out even better for you Andrea. Cmon Friday!0

@363days thank you for your kind words.
I actually hit rockbottom prior to the transplant when my kidneys began to fail. I was in and out of the hospital 7 times in 6 months. I lost my job, sold my horse(my greatest passion) to pay the bills. My husband refused to help me with the bills and put a loaded shotgun to my head. He would have killed me if he could think of a way to get away with it then. He did overdose me with my insulin but my sister found me and I spent 3 days in a coma with my family told to plan my funeral. The 7th time I went to the hospital, my doctor contacted the social worker who had me removed from my home. I almost lost my truck when he left it at a bar that had it impounded. Fortunately my mom got my mail while I was in the hospital so I paid the fine and kept my only vehicle.
Released from the hospital with no home, no job and no horse on my birthday where I vomited up the angel food cake and strawberries the hospital had given me as a special treat. Spent the next months clinging to life while on dialysis. When I became stronger, I divorced my husband 6 months later, evicted him and his girlfriend from my house, and regained sole ownership of my house then sold it to pay off the mortgage since I could no longer work or afford to live there.
But on a happier note, tomorrow is the anniversary of my kidney/pancreas transplant. I am so blessed and grateful for the transplant, the doctors, nurses and cnas, and the support of my family. Every night I say thank you for all the things that I am grateful for and the blessings in my life.7 -

Did my back and bicept workout. I also went grocery shopping. My knee has been starting to get sore so I haven’t been working out as much. Dinner tonight was sheet pan turkey meatballs with roasted veggies.5 -

I took a shower and had my roommate bandage up where the drain was and but a piece of cotton pad and band-aids where the incision is ......boy did that shower feel good2 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970 - what did the surgeon say about your pain? Do make sure to not keep the incision covered all of the time. It will heal better open to air. Get some loose sweat pants or a nightshirt.
@Beautyofdreams - I read you blog story and what you posted above. I am so in awe of you resilience.
@TheresaM787 - it sure was a rollercoaster of emotion. I had no idea I had all of that bottled up
@Tazaria87 - that is an incredible transformation
@lindamtuck2018 - it’s good that you bought a monitor to keep track of your blood pressure. I hope you leg is feeling better.
@Poobah1972 - you are crushing it 🤩

Woop woop! I'm now off to my mums for 6 days so I will try my best to log and stay within calories but I know I'll go off plan a little.
My new fitbit versa 3 arrives this morning too!3 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970
So sorry about the pain not letting up. The doctor must have had a reason not to bandage it up, right? I'm not a surgeon, so perhaps he/she had their reasons.
Steps 5/4: 20,723. Includes my Tuesday group running class. Also, still lots of rocking out to great music.3 -

I'm a little pokey this morning... Didn't quite want to get out of bed. But I got out of bed, I dragged my *kitten* outside, and sure enough as I got through my first lap, most of the aches and pains fell away and that good old endorphin high began to kick in. I took a wider lap each and every lap this morning. Didn't make a huge impact, but it's something right? Heart rate also dropped for a bit, probably another error. Oh well. 😝
I received 5 of 6 packages containing our Adjustable dumbbells... 4 of which boxes combined for 255 pounds. I carried them in on top of my head one at a time. That was a work out in and of itself. lol Just one big heavy box left to go. Incidentally the boxes were about the same weight as the weight I have lost so far. (That's amazing... Yahoo! 🙂)
The Elliptical arrived yesterday, and is currently in our shop at work. So hopefully this weekend we can get the power cage and Cable station all set up, so we can make room for the Elliptical box. Lynn's son is coming over to help. 🙂 (hmmm this all sounds a little familiar? I must of wrote about all this already?) lol
I've also been ordering a few odd's and ends to improve the gym a little. Like a Titan Fitness Dumbbell Table with plate storage (it's awesome lol)? (I just got one for me, I'll have to see if Lynn wants on) hehe. Had to jump through more hoops to get it as they don't ship to Canada or accept a Canada billing address's. (But i figured it out, and I'll get it tax free, and duty free if I'm lucky... hahah) 😋 Ssshhhhhhh.
Okay I better get my *kitten* to work... Everyone enjoy your Hump day! 😄

With the exercise maybe you can set a goal of going once a week for now. Experiment with the different cardio machines and weights. Maybe you will find something you will like. Has someone showed you how to use the machines and weights?
@Tazaria87
Great check in!
@roz0810
Awesome loss! I am sorry as I didn’t see the request to move until today. Enjoy your time with your Mom!
@azkunk
So glad your appoint is earlier. Tears can be very freeing. As for my leg, it was rough yesterday but I have been pushing myself with walking.

Tuesday’s check in
✅Steps 5,977
✅Sleep
✅Walk
Busy day today. The doctor phoned me back so I am going in this morning about my blood pressure. I got up extra early as I can’t have coffee an hour before I go and I need that caffeine in the morning. I have physio this afternoon and I am going to walk there. I move physiotherapist to one that’s near me. It will be a challenging walk with my leg but we will see how it goes. I can always take an Uber home.
I am super proud of myself with the walking. I was talking to my daughter the other day and I was grumbling about the fact I am losing weight so slow. She said look to positives not related to the scale. So mine is I have increased my walking and steps.What’s your NSV?
