Steps: 5,268
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Weather is so hot that I'm not feeling motivated to go on my treadmill! Will try harder5 -
Check in for 6/12
Steps 19,454 . Went grocery shopping . I have been doing good not buying too much junk food. I buy cookies and stuff like that for my husband and son to take in lunches for work but not for me. I have 1 package that I can have some if I want but I am doing good staying out of them. If I want chocolate I eat one of my protein bars. The ones I have are very good. I also can have an ice cream sandwich which are only 140 calories. I don't want to deprive myself . That just doesn't end well.
I also went swimming for 1 1/2 hours. It was great exercise! I even did my 1000 jumps in there and my legs got tired but my knees didn't hurt.
I hope to get in some swimming again today. Have a good day everyone!!7 -

Terrific step day Rachel 👏🏻👏🏻 Have you tried the Blender Ball cups? Years ago, those were seen everywhere instead of using a blender (much easier to clean).
@lindamtuck2018
Way to go Linda! Amazing step day 👏🏻👏🏻 I'm sorry to hear that you were in so much pain. It's incredible that you still walk, regardless of the pain. HUGE congratulations on going down another two units of insulin 🎉 you are almost off insulin altogether 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I hope you are able to sleep tonight 🤗 By the way, I love the "Good habits are as addictive as bad habits, but far more rewarding." quote. It's true, I never would have thought so until I started on my path. I just saw all of your steps from last week, every day you surpassed your goal 👏🏻👏🏻
@lmf1012
YES! Another fantastic loss Joni 👏🏻👏🏻 Congrats on a high step day and having your daughter back home with you. 🤗 Enjoy your time together.
@azkunk
You did it! Seven days 👏🏻👏🏻 That's a great idea to take a fasting break, especially since it helps to keep you motivated. Your daughter sounds like quite the dancer, that's a huge time commitment.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Stupid scale! Hide it away. I hate how demotivating the scale can be. Have you called the general surgeon to ask if it has anything to do with the hernia surgery?
I agree with Linda and Joni, your definition of a short walk is completely different than mine also 😆 Oh no, my lack of bladder strength is contagious 🤣
@363days
Thank you Patti, they really needed the Screen Time Checklist to earn screen time or else they'd never leave their iPads. Thanks for reminding me about the screen glasses. I was going to get them the screen glasses, then I never did. I should grab two pairs when we go to Costco later this week. I've heard of that. I really need to just do it. I keep holding onto things, stuff, rationalizing that it's good stuff and that eventually I'll need it. I give you a lot of credit! Congrats on maintaining this week 👏🏻👏🏻 and for trying out a new exercise class. It sounds like you found a new class to add to your routine. That was really motivating to hear that the consistency of walking and taking exercise classes helped your friend lose weight. It really is the good habits that help us. Speaking of good habits, I just saw your weekly steps! Wow Patti, you're doing amazing 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@888Angie888
Oh my goodness! 19,923 that's amazing 👏🏻👏🏻
@Beverly2Hansen
Well done on your loss 👏🏻👏🏻 and for noticing the changes that the loss has made! I'm glad you're excited to be back on track - love that motivation! You're so close to your goal weight 🤗
@Tazaria87
Yes, I've tried to play "the couch is lava" with myself, but that is a discipline that I just don't have the energy for. Way to go Ashley for getting those sneakers on after the littles are in bed👏🏻👏🏻 Terrific loss and high step day 🎉🎉 Wow, you have a busy weekend planned. Your Sunday dinner sounds delicious!
@rwood566
Happy Birthday to Mrs. Roger 🎉 Are you doing the baking? It sounds like you have a great plan for the upcoming events.
Let's celebrate those steps, all steps count 🤩 1,800 with the cookie, terrific day! Yummy Mrs. Roger breakfast plan - French toast and sausage links.
@iradi8
Well done with all of those high steps Sloan👏🏻👏🏻 and again the following day too 🎉
@red1185
I'm glad you got to the beach safe and sound. You got this Rachel! Do the best you can, that's all. If you can get in some walks on the beach even better. When we were just on our staycation with the inlaws (all ten of them- plus my four), I brought along some of my habit foods that help me stay on track. It actually helped a lot, did I splurge on some meals? Yes, I did the best I could, when I could. You can do this, we are here for you 🤗
@Beautyofdreams
Deb that's phenomenal 👏🏻👏🏻 80 pounds 🎉Congratulations!! It sounds like you had a wonderful time at the reunion, it's a small world isn't it? Well done with your day, you had extra calories remaining. I love it when that happens.
@Bluetail6
You had a great week of high steps Lee! How are you feeling?
@roz0810
Motivation is sometimes the hardest part. One of the habits that they spoke about on the We Only Look Thin podcast, is to try to do the same habit every day (walking) even if it's just for five minutes. They rationalized that if you just can get in a bit of walking, then you will be more motivated to continue each day. I don't know what kind of voodoo they are talking about, but I tried it and it works.
@amymartin555
Another super high step day! I like how you don't deprive yourself, that's a great key to making sure we stay on track. Have you tried Halo Top ice cream? It's my new go to for an ice cream fix (tip I received was to leave out your portion for about ten minutes to soften up before eating). Mmmmm it's 7:30 in the morning and now I'm craving Halo Top. I need to get my sneakers on before I raid the freezer.

Off to go walking! Have a wonderful day everyone.5 -
Good morning team!! It’s a fantastic day for healthy habits and taking great care of ourselves.

20th Consecutive Sunday fast...
Blood Ketones 1.3
Blood Glucose 112
GKI 4.79
Fat intake was higher yesterday on purpose, and my ketones actually dropped today... So I really don't know how any of this works. lol
Other then that... I'm making bread with a new batch of yeast. If this doesn't work, I'm taking a shotgun to the bread maker.
The rest of the day will be relax and stay of the internet day. 😆
And pray the weight loss fairy arrives over the course of the night.4 -

Spending morning with grandkids. Will catchup later.5

What is one mini goal (a goal you can hit daily)
that you can later use as a Non-Scale Victory (NSV)?
We all know mine - drink five cups of seltzer every day (aim for eight cups).2 -
So happy! Before I went on my walk, I left a note for hubby letting him know to call me if he wants to go for a walk and I'll come home, so we can walk together. I was about a mile and a half away when I got the text that he was awake and wanted to go for a walk 🤩 Speed walked home - looked like a duck waddling as fast as I could. Saw him outside waiting for me. We repeated the route we took yesterday, which was about 3.25 miles. He did two long walks, one yesterday and one today! He wants to try to make it every day (except for Mondays because he has meetings all morning). Keeping fingers crossed that he turns walking into a habit.7

@lmf1012
Way to go with those steps!! I hope you found some shade during your walks.
@Poobah1972
Fingers crossed that your bread turns out delicious! You're doing amazing 👏🏻👏🏻
@lindamtuck2018
Enjoy those amazing grandchildren of yours. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Holy weight loss Batman! What did you do this past week?! 6lbs is huge at any weight but at 149, that’s pretty substantial.5 -

Aim for 7,000 steps Monday to Saturday. This will be a challenge some days but I am going to try. I did it 4 days last week. I want to accomplish this by end of June.4 -
@TheresaM787
Amazing steps! That’s so nice that your husband is walking with you and he did it 2 days in a row. Sounds like the beginning of a good habit. Maybe you can start competing with your steps. I would have loved to seen you walk like a duck. Also, well done staying in your maintenance window.
@rwood566
It’s not very often you eat over 1800 so it will average out over the week. You still did well at the gym. Maybe if you didn’t want to eat a full breakfast before the gym you could have a protein bar or shake. I was definitely a klutz in the kitchen today so I celebrated. I still need to clean up the mess.
@roz0810
Hope it cools down. Your steps are still great. I added you on Fitbit so maybe we could do a work week challenge this week. You up for it?
@amymartin555
Crazy steps again. You are awesome! 👏 Swimming is great exercise. I am so jealous you get to swim. Depriving ourselves is not something we can do long term. I eat a 150 calorie bag of chips each day. Since I started this I haven’t binged. So we have to do what works. I also keep 50 calorie popsicles on hand for a cool treat.
@lmf1012
Awesome steps! It is hard walking when it’s so humid out.

Check in for Saturday

✅Walk
Yup, that is my step count. Not counting moving day, it is my highest steps for the year. The walk with the kids yesterday was a little longer than planned. Sure I am in pain but I am very proud. Also, the exercise calories allowed a bigger slice of cake last night. We dropped the kids off and we went shopping. It felt good to be able to buy non essentials after 2 months. I am marinating some salmon to have on the bbq tonight. So supper should be delicious.
Enjoy your day!6 -
Awesome steps Linda ...I have salmon on my menu this week also but I will be using dijon mustard and everything bagel seasoning on mine4

@lmf1012 I actually weighed 153.0 lbs on June 1. I gained 6 lbs the week before starting to weigh myself again while overeating due to depression for the last 3 weeks. Since June 2, I have been eating back at a 250 cal deficit and started a new weight lifting program. So bulk of weight loss was food weight, waste and glycogen and water weight. Actual fat loss is probably closer to 1 pound.
Remember the scale weighs everything.3 -
The most important NSV for me is learning to work through my fears and mental hang ups about weight loss. I feared people laughing at me and making comments when I started walking and lifting weights. Some people did but most ignored me and I kept going. My brain kept telling me that I couldn't walk that far but my body did it anyway. I feared family comments when I changed my eating habits and met initial resistance until they decided that a healthier diet made them feel better too and controlled their weight.
Through this journey, I have found myself mentally hung up on scale weights(I can't possibly lose more!) clothing sizes(I will never wear that clothing size!), the unresolved emotions and memories that bubbled up when I would reach certain weights, not being able to walk since starting skin grafts(You will gain your weight back!) and the thought of future maintenance(you will just gain all your weight back when you start maintenance!)
I have been able to work through these fears by researching and coming up with strategies and learning from others on MFP. @TheresaM787 thanks for the reassurance that maintenance is not really different from weight loss. Hearing that really helped me stop the self sabotage that I was engaging in to avoid reaching goal weight.

Happy sunday, everyone. I hope it's a beautiful day where all of you are.
@lindamtuck2018 wtg on the record steps. It's easy to walk longer when you are with people you find interesting.
@Beautyofdreams great post about the self doubts. Thank you. I still go thru them myself in the gym. I'm expecting to catch someone making fun of me. I need to concentrate more on my workout and care less what others think.
Finally resting for a couple hours. Counted fingers after breakfast - 10, 2 burned slightly. Lesson is don't touch a hot griddle. Walked around old town, San Diego. Almost went down. Light headed and slow walking. Ate lunch out and left half my chicken burger on the plate. When I started eating I was going to eat it all but my training kicked in and I stopped. Left it at the table when we left, which is a first. Didn't want to bring it home since we have lots of leftovers. Only ate 1/3 of my fries and brought home the rest for tonight. High calorie count after lunch but it looks like I can manage it and maybe get a sliver of cake.
I'm truly surprised I'm doing this well today.5 -

Busy weekend coming to a close. The house warming party yesterday was great. Got to see a lot of people we haven't seen in what feels like forever. Some friends have had babies in the past year and we got to meet their little ones. I spent the majority of my time there holding/rocking someone's baby haha. No official exercise but I didn't sit down the whole time. Today my mother in law and her husband and his son came over. Lunch was great and everyone enjoyed. When they headed out then the kids got dressed for swim and off we went. We are home now and I'm exhausted. I don't have all my steps for today but I don't know if I have the energy to get them. Still need to get the kids ready for bed.3 -
Steps 16,291
Did day 3 workout which was tabata. Had some friends over for cookout and fire pit. We did chicken, burgers and tons of grilled veggies instead of unhealthy side salads. It was a fun night.4
