It was Leg day today... π
And I'm still confused, and it was demoralizing for a time π£. I've never experienced such a set back when I lifted regularly in the past. So I'm a bit confused as to what happened.
My squat today was equivalent to 10 steps backwards (as opposed to 1).
All things being the same, last week I managed 10 reps in the first to sets to 12.5 " off the ground.
This time I did just 5, then 3, then a miniscule 2 on my last set.... And I didn't even work up a sweat or a heart beat... I just had nothing there, it's like I couldn't make the mind to muscle connection? or the muscles weren't primed? Perhaps I shouldn't take a Aleve the night before? Either way, during that set I was totally defeated. I felt like quitting and walking out of the room for a moment.
But I stayed with it... For whatever reason my Leg Extensions actually improved my Leg Curls were slightly improved. Everything else was fine. *scratched head*
Lynn and I were discussing the possibility that when she installed the seat last week? Maybe she put it at 14.5 and not 12.5"? But I don't think that is it?
Whatever happened to my squat, I think the best course of action is to go back to 14.5" and just try and get stronger from there. That last 2 inches changes everything drastically.
So yeah... Just hoping tomorrow things fair better on that end. π€
Forgot to start my Fitbit on this one, so you will just have to trust me. π
Other then that, I've been super busy.... And I'm off again, to watch a TV show with my brother. I've been neglecting him a bit with everything going on... I was suppose to watch Loki with him yesterday and I forgot. He wasn't to please... I could tell. But he didn't watch it without me, so he still loves me. π
I'll try to catch up soon.\4 -
Went to TJ Maxx today while my mom and sister shopped in Hobby Lobby next door. Decided to look at leggings and capris. Found a set that I liked on the clearance rack but the price tag was torn. Checker scanned the barcode and they were $10.00. When I got home and tried them on they fit, the brand that I purchased are All Fenix. I looked up the new leggings and they retail for $88.00!5

One walk again yesterday but spent a good part of the early afternoon cleaning stuff out of the garage. It needs it so bad so I finally got a few things taken care of. Once the trash can was full though I had to stop haha. Pick up was today so it's empty again! Dad and I went for a late walk just the two of us. He wanted to push himself and have sub 20min miles so we walked faster. All 3 ended up being between 17 and 18 min miles. Mission accomplished.
Today was grocery shopping day and mom needed to go early so my routine got thrown off-which is why I'm posting so late. We got rained on the whole time we were out which wasn't much fun. Oh well, groceries are bought and put away. No outside official walk today, just the grocery stores. I am about to go hop on the treadmill though and finish out my steps now that the kids are in bed. Tomorrow I'll probably post at a different time too. Won't be home in the morning as mom and I and the kids are going to the farmers market.4 -

I had an awful night, woke up at 3AM with a terrible headache. Took medicine, but was unable to fall back asleep. Just kept my eyes closed and listened to an audiobook.
After reading this mornings amazing steps, I was inspired to go for a slow 3.5 mile walk (instead of no walk). Came home. Got a few chores done. Did a ride. More chores. Dinner. Now itβs family game movie night. Although tonight, we are going to postpone the game until tomorrow- headache is back. So proud of you guys! Thank you for posting. You motivated me to not let my headache keep me down (not a migraine- just a bad headache).5 -

Sorry about your headache. It is very hard focus and do things with one. You push through and did great with your goals. You say everyone inspired you, well what you did today is definitely inspiring.3 -

i'm charging my fitbit right now but might get a few more steps in before bed.
Yesterday, especially, I was pretty chuffed with myself. I was probably sitting at around 2000 steps by 9pm and talked myself into going for a walk! So went about 4.5k which is a lot for me. The evenings seem to be a good time to do it, especially with the weather being so hot!!
Today was a work day so hurting like hell right now. But hit just over 10k steps.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

Roger, yes! We do have a lot of amazingly high steppers here. Thank you,I thought the same here (about @amymartin555 and @Megan_smartiepants1970 walking towards one another). I thought if I could get to a goal of 1 1/2 hours, I'd be elated. Megan is in my head at 6:30 telling me to wake up and have coffee so that I can get in a longer walk.
Roger during the beginning of the pandemic I made that soft loaf cake, I think it was called "jiggle cake". The kids saw the craze on YouTube and wanted to bake one. The kids and I ate the whole thing while trying to decide what it tasted it like.
Terrific step day ππ»ππ»ππ» and that's while being in that awfully loud game room (you're a great dad, I do my best to get my kids to want to go almost anywhere else but there, too loud for this ol' lady). Another amazing calorie day for you, you're so good at moderating what you eat. ππ»ππ»
@rwood566
I agree, about the banana cookie recipe being added to MFP, I would have thought it would have been calculated also. Did you like the cookies?
Wow, over 11,300 steps and a 4.5mile walk! Ok buddy, are you walking to see @amymartin555 and @Megan_smartiepants1970?? Amazing step day Roger!! Another low calorie day for you, great choice with the hot air popcorn. Thanks for the list of fun daily holiday π
@888Angie888
Incredible high step day! Love seeing those inspirational numbers ππ»ππ»ππ»
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Over FOUR hours AGAIN! Do you see this Roger(@rwood566)?! Megan that's absolutely phenomenal ππ»ππ»ππ» 25,000 steps and over 33,000 the day before! I'm sitting here at the kitchen table, at 6:45 in the morning (on a Saturday) having coffee feeling in awe of you.
I'm glad you're taking the weekend to recuperate from walking to Washington and back π
@Beverly2Hansen
That's an impressive list of high steps!! Every single day was over 12,000 with two days over 19,300 ππ»ππ»ππ»
Another high step day on your dad's birthday, and ate at a deficit ππ»ππ»ππ» well done hitting all of your goals including the 2 liters of water and walking almost 13,000 steps!
@rlaskey2
Another terrific day of high steps! I'm sorry to hear about your toe and stomach pain. I hope the gel did the trick on your toe and your stomach feels better. Regarding posting here, do what you can, when you can. We are here to support one another π€
@Poobah1972
You are an exercise detective, trying to figure out what the variable was. The rest of the workout sounded like it went really well. You and Lynn are doing incredible together!!
@Beautyofdreams
SCORE! Love when I find deals like that.
@Tazaria87
Well done today with all of your goalsππ»ππ»ππ» HOW do you have energy to walk on the treadmill after you put the kids to bed? Once mine were down, I'd be done π Have fun at the farmers market with your mom and the kids.
@littleflutterby
Look at that impressive list of stepsππ»ππ»ππ» and how you were able to convince yourself to go for a walk, not just a walk a really, really long walk! π€
@Aqualang26
Congratulations Laura on your loss ππ»ππ»ππ»
@amymartin555
Another incredibly high day ππ»ππ»ππ» over 30,200 steps! My legs hurt for you π€£ that's amazing!
@roz0810
What a great post to end on! Another over 10,000 stepper ππ»ππ»ππ» Well done!

Ok, drained my cup of coffee, and it's about 7:20. I need to get my booty out there and begin walking before it gets any later. Uh oh, I hear footsteps upstairs, someone is up. Have a great Saturday everyone!4 -
@littleflutterby
You have a right to be pleased. Great job going on a long walk. It has been very hot and it is so hard want move. You went anyway!
@Aqualang26
Nice loss! Itβs great when we can actually see a reason for what is happening on the scale.
@amymartin555
Another impressive day! You have to be burning serious calories.
@Beverly2Hansen
Fantastic steps!
@rwood566
Another awesome step day! Why can you walk before breakfast? I know I canβt go without coffee.

Yesterday I treated myself to a shopping day. I feel a little guilty about spending the money since I am not working but oh well I felt like I needed a few things and wouldnβt be able to do it once the kids are Home from school.
We went from a heat wave in the 90βs to a cold evening on the baseball field. I thought this was the last game but there is another play off game next week. I havenβt been cooking on these nights as it is right at dinner time.
I broke my blender the other day so I had to try the protein shake just shaken in my cup. it actually wasnβt bad and less clean up since I am super lazy.5 -
Check in for Friday

I ended up walking to the market and drugstore yesterday as I remembered I needed a few things. I thought I was going to be short on steps as I was lying down more than usual due to pain. I just tried when I got the reminders to move to keeping going for an extra few minutes after it indicated I hit the 250 steps. I was over my calories more than I wanted to be yesterday. I had a really low blood sugar so once I treated it I ended up eating an extra snack to stabilize my sugars. The good news is I reduced my insulin another 2 units last night. I am getting closer to be off insulin.
I am off grocery shopping in a few. As always on Saturdays my walk will depend on my back/leg pain once I get my groceries away. Hopefully, I will get a small one in.
Have an awesome weekend!

You guys are all killing with those high step counts. I canβt wait to go shopping myself. Non essential stores opened yesterday after a few months. I need sandals and other summer clothes. Did you get any deals? My hubby doesnβt know it yet but it all is going to be my birthday present.5 -

I have been sooo busy with the new job and dance recital/rehearsals. My fast streak was 7 days and I will be breaking it today. My daughter had a rehearsal yesterday. We got there are 1:00 and did not leave until 8:00. I planned some Healy snacks but did not eat dinner since it went over so long. My daughter was hungry afterwards and so was I and I ate at 9:00. I will hold out as later as I can today but not sure that I will make it without coffee. 2 dance shows tonight and she has to be there at 4:00. Likely wonβt get done until around 8:00 and the tradition is ice cream. I can handle the calories today but Iβll likely celebrate with her (she is big into traditions) so the fasting will get messed up again. I think I will just call this weekend a break from fasting and start again on Monday. She has 2 more shows on Sunday, another rehearsal on Tuesday and 2 shows on Friday and 2 shows on Saturday. I will do my best to fast but itβs a little hard with so much going on outside of my normal routine. I will do my best though because I feel it is really helping me stay focused and this week should be a good loss.5

@TheresaM787 I like your idea of earning screen time. I never really thought of the danger, but when I got my glasses at Costco, they told me they put a protective element in the glasses for free for children, because so much screen time affects our eyes! On decluttering - I'm ALWAYS doing it and have boxes or stacks to put out! I've been trying to be more aware when I by something that I am bringing something into my house and ask myself if there is anything that can go. I just started reading the book The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning. Some things I may not actually get rid of, but I have sorted, wrapped, labeled and boxed some of my china for my daughter, for later. I always feel better after cleaning something out....even if it is just my freezer.

@lmf1012 - I know just how you feel seeing all of those step counts! It's so hard for me not to compare myself with others but we do what we can do, right?? Great work to you and all of the high steppers.
@beautyofdreams I hope it is your last skin graft and glad you are enjoying your new exercises.
@lindamtuck2018 Wow, I love your NSV's and I see a lot of improvement there. In regards to weight loss, something I'm starting to take a look at is WHAT I'm eating, not just calories. I know there are foods that cause inflammation for me, and decreasing or taking these out of my diet might help me to lose. For me, it is nuts, dairy, breads, etc. The meal delivery service I've been using is great, I really like it, but I have been eating more of the pasta and breads. I'd like to know if you find that this might make any difference for you. It will be two weeks before I get back to no breads and pasta, due to stopping deliveries, but I'm anxious to see if it makes a difference for me.3 -

I'm happy with this - I had two days of binging, and not so great the other days. I think the extra exercise has helped. I went to a new class at the Y called Cardio Blast. It seemed a lot like Zumba, but more exercises were in it and not so much of the "hip swaying sexy stuff" which I can't do anyway! I loved it - it is twice a week and I know it will get me to the gym. The other two days are zumba with friends. I had not been in about two months and one of the ladies looked at least a size smaller, if not more. I asked what she had been doing and it was 4 days a week of the zumba with some walking. It was cool to see how much that consistency had paid off for her.
