Good Morning Team π€© I have a bit of catching up to do.
@BRGking
Way to go Gerrit!!! 10,900 stepsππ»ππ»ππ»
@lindamtuck2018
Yes, yes it was rude of that donut to ruin my sleep by hurting my belly. Thank you. Yes, same here. We've only lived in this house for about five years, and I decluttered last year (or so I thought) when the pandemic hit. We were able to donate so much, and we haven't been shopping in almost 15 months for more "stuff", yet I have more to declutter π€¦π»ββοΈ
Way to go! All β s you are kicking butt all over the placeππ»ππ»ππ» You blew away your higher step goal, 7,043!! You will get to onederland. I wish you could see how incredible you are doing. Your NSVs are just a snapshot of that, look deeper: you are going for walks with your grandkids- you are building lifelong loving memories that all of you will carry and cherish; you are finally sleeping - remember how you felt before those days of blissful sleep (you tried everything and now you are sleeping); you haven't given up - staying on your path, being consistent, is one of the hardest parts and you are doing it, mentally and physically; you doubled your step goal in six months - you are walking even more than your goal, you built up your stamina, you increased your strength; your insulin has dropped another two units - you are seeing noticeable, health-related, improvements. Plus you are a constant source of inspiration and motivation to this team. π€
I like the quote you shared, "It's okay to struggle, but it's not okay to give up on yourself or your dreams."
@lmf1012
Fantastic step day ππ»ππ»ππ» Congratulations on the scale moving Joni π It sounds like you are putting together an awesome home gym also.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Congratulations on finishing another year of homeschool ππ» FOUR HOURS? π³ Four π²Four hours! π€£ Please know I mean this in the most loving and envious way, that's absolutely insane! I don't know if I will ever be able to do walks like that. Four hours? You are truly inspirational. Four. Hours. I hear, "I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more.." in my head.
@Tazaria87
BAM! (channeling my inner Emeril) Look at you hitting all of your daily goals Ashley ππ»ππ» Five miles and with sporadic jogging spurts- well BAM! Those hamburger buns sound delicious.
@rwood566
Yes, that scale does owe its life to me. It should have remembered that, when it wouldn't move, or when it moved in the wrong direction.
@888Angie888
Well done Angie! Congratulations on your loss ππ»ππ» slow miles are better than no miles, way to go running a mile EVERYDAY. That's a tremendous step goal, and you're hitting it ππ»ππ» Staying away from the drink & tracking everything ππ»ππ» Meditating also? That's remarkable, and yes that's a win! HUGE step day!2 -

Ok, so what did you get at the Asian supermarket? You are a brave dad, I try to hold out going to those game room places - they are WAY too loud for me. Which I don't understand, because I used to listen to music that was MUCH LOUDER than that and my family is always saying how loud I am, especially during hockey games (if I don't yell at the tv, then how will the team/ref hear me?).
@amymartin555
Did you type that right? 40,000 steps! One can get 40,000 steps? In a day? How did you get 40,000 steps? Did you just walk all day long and only stop to eat and pee? 40,000? Did your legs fall off? 40,000? Well hot damn! Throw up the cowgirl hat and do a jig ππ»ππ»ππ» Congratulations on hitting your goal πππ
@Beautyofdreams
You had a feeling that you had more grafts in store. You're doing really well with the entire procedure. You're almost done π€

really lovely walking with a neighbor, walking and talking - love that. I'm so glad the family is coming over for pizza tonight. Enjoy!

Good morning Downsizers!! Yay, it's Friday!
It has gotten quite warm (and humid) here in Texas... looks like summer has arrived! Definitely makes for some uncomfortable walks but hopefully I will acclimate soon.

The only suggestion I would make is to not eat all your exercise calories back. Try eating half for awhile. I have seen people suggest this to others. The only time I really tap into my exercise calories since I revamped my eating is on the weekends. I know this is incredibly frustrating but hang in there. It will start happening. Enjoy your walk.6 -
Definitely a TGIF today...
Pouring rain out this morning at 4:30am when my alarm went off... And to tell you the truth I was happy that it was, because it was reason enough to snuggle in bed with Lynn for an extra half hour. I felt a little lazy for doing so, but I just wasn't into getting drenched in what is a blissfully cool morning. We both slept great too. (And I did not take any melatonin last night). Anyway, I still have Saturday morning to get a walk in, so π.
I was tied up in meetings almost all day yesterday, and as it turns out my wife came home early to meet the dude who wanted my Adjustable bench. Apparently, he loved it, and bought it immediately. From what I understand him and is girlfriend were blown away with the exercise room. heheh π. He wanted to buy more of our stuff, but UH-UH Not Happening Mister! ππ
More importantly, this means I now have more room to work with in the room, and I can start organizing things a bit more. Plus, I received a bunch of goodies, and my Olympic Hex bar yesterday a week sooner than I expected. (Somehow, I managed to stuff it in my Camry Hybrid SE π³)
So, I started moving stuff around and reorganizing... a workout into itself. lol. Specially so, when I moved my Dumbbell rack, completely loaded it back up with all my weights, then realized I didn't give myself enough space, and had to do it all over again. lol
At this point, I just got one major and 2 minor things to complete. I've ordered a wall mounted 3 draw cabinet with Counter top for the corner. Pretty small, just 30" wide, 16" deep and 24" top to bottom. The idea is it will mount about 12"-16" off the ground above the heat register, and it will fit on the wall and be just inside of the Door Frame so the Double French Doors will still be able to open fully. It's the perfect size and fit. This will be where we will have our JBL Blue Tooth Speaker. And a great place to put our phones, workout books, and store all the things in the drawers such, as Gloves, Hooks, Handles, Bands and various other exercise goodies. I'm even going to top the counter with a piece of 70A (Durometer scale) Neoprene Rubber. So, if we wanted to put a dumbbell up there to manipulate at a comfortable height, there will be no worries of damaging the counter top.
Then It's just a matter of waiting for the Iron Master Attachment wall organizer to come into stock (Late July) that will allow us to put the Leg lockdown, Leg Machine, seat, and preacher curl attachments, all high up on the wall and off the floor (Lynn won't be able to reach but meh π) . And lastly the putting up all our Exercise Posters.
Let me introduce you to...
My Titan Stand, with Iron Master Dumbbells and a secondary set of Screw type Dumbbells... It just holds every single Dumbbell plate I have.. WHOOO π. (I've also added Neoprene rubber to the top of the stand so the weights don't slide down, make noise or scratch the paint). π
Lynn's Dumbbell Corner (very cute)... FYI I also received red quick lock collars that are now on her dumbbells (not shown in this picture unfortunately) So NO MORE SCREWING. Just Unlock and pull off. lol Fit great and plenty safe for anything under 40-50 pounds I figure. I have a set too, but mine are black. π (FYI she has another set of handles and collars on route as she wanted more... Gotta love her). π
And last but not least... Olympic Bar Corner! Note I still have room for 2 more. (I'm thinking a swiss bar, and a woman's barbell... (Which is the same as a man's but has shorter callers that I will likely never need anyway, thus I will have like an extra 4 or 5 inches of space on either side of the room, which would be useful when putting on and taking off weights). π
It's LEG DAY TODAY... Have a great one Ladies and Gents! π

Yes I did 40,000 steps yesterday. My legs felt like they were going to fall off. I just started walking and didnt stop for the first 20,000 then I figured I would keep going because once I sit down it is too hard to get back up. I do IF so I didnt really have to stop to eat I just ate when I finished. I figured this was equivalent to someone who works on their feet all day but I dont think I could handle it. Today my legs are ok. I did my 10,000+ already so I will see what I end up with. It will be a while before I try for the next fitbit badge of 45,000. If ever.2 -

You aren't gaining fat... That is 100% fact, I'm positive of that. In fact the laws of thermal dynamic demand that you are in fact burning fat. So why Neptune the God of the Sea, as decided to take up residence in your back side while commanding the depths of the Ocean with him... Well it's anyone's guess. But he can't hide in there forever. A spectacular WOOSH is coming for you.... Eventually. π

That doesn't make sense, all of that walking, water, staying under deficit. Are you retaining water? That's the only thing I can think of. Have you called the general surgeon who did the hernia surgery? Not that I want you driving all the way out there to see him. π€ I hope you enjoy your walk.

@amymartin555 40k?? Only 15 miles?? Holy cow. Are you and megan training to walk to each other?
There are so many amazing walkers here. Some of you are nuts as well. I'm happy when I can get 4 miles or 1 1/2 hours. You ladies are wild.
@lindamtuck2018 we just got a couple bakery items and wafers. We weren't coming home for a couple of hours so anything else would have a hard time. Got a "soft milk loaf" that was like eating a cream filled cloud. Couldn't even tell it was a pastry. I wanted to get fresh fish, live abalone, different noodles, veggies. I'd spend a couple days just trying to figure out how to cook it all.5 -

Check in for 6/10:
Steps - 4367. I don't think the watch counted the asian market very well since I had my hands in my pockets the whole time. Otherwise I would have bought a lot of things.
Calories - about 1630. Cut down on my dinner since i ate out at lunch. Shared a burger and only had a few fries.
Exercise - does trying to dodge screaming monsters in a game room count?
Sorry it's late. Went to bed early again.5 -
four hour 5 minute walk today ...9.60 miles and burned 1263 calories ...shorter than yesterday but felt longer to me ..almost 25,000 steps ....I had 33,010 steps yesterday

I have to look at what got posted here for those days. I used my manual pedometer at times that week which was malfunctioning and doesn't keep the data like Google fit does. It'll take me a few minutes.1 -
6/6/21 step count-12,083
6/7/21 step count- 15,012
6/8/21 step count- 19,314
6/9/21 step count- 13,870
6/10/21 step count- 19,318
Additionally I need added 1-40min jogg 6/7/21. On the day I discovered my manual pedometer was broken on 6/7/21 I jogged 40minutes using only the manual pedometer and then walked with my google fit app on wearing my phone with the manual pedometer also clipped to me. When I got back the manual pedometer had half the steps as the google fit did even though it should have shown more because I used it before jogging in place watching my show for 40minutes. I ended up using my step count on the google fit as it has the correct number of steps and miles for how far I walked but I don't know how to turn the 40min jog into steps and add it to that day. If need be you can drop the jogg and we just go forward. My 6/6/21 step count is probably 50% lower than the amount I walked that day. When I looked into others receiving the same brand faulty pedometer other people recorded massive discrepancies in their counts but how much it was off was very inconsistent from day to day so I didn't want to guess about 6/6/21 and am leaving it underestimated. Everything from 6/8/21 going forward is acurate as I was fully back to using google fit.4 -
you would think that if MFP is giving us a recipe then it's in the list for us to log. I just made the 3 ingredient banana-oat cookies. they are decent. i don't think i mashed up the bananas enough and they stuck a bit to the parchment paper. can't believe they were that easy to make, though. i'd say take a minute or two off the time or maybe cook one tray at a time. great snacks with 2 cookies being 87 calories. maybe add some cinnamin.6
-
Steps 15,676
Did my new workout and ran errands. I saw the podiatrist and she thinks that the toe numbness is stemming from lower in my foot and suggested I try voltaren gel and stretch it by rolling with gold ball.
I tried to go for a walk in the afternoon but my stomach was hurting.
It is getting harder to remember to post here so not sure how it will go in a week when the kids are home.

@lindamtuck2018. Thank you. I think what made it possible was that before I even left, I had a plan. Of course I didn't know that all hell would break loose, and a 6-day trip would turn into over 2 weeks... I just gave myself grace, and made the best choices I could under the circumstances. I lost weight over the holidays, so I decided this wouldn't be any different, if possible. And, because I was at an almost 8,000 foot elevation, I drank tons of water. I'll be leaving again next week for a trip I've had planned since February. This is going to be a much shorter spa trip. I just wish I weren't leaving so soon after the last trip. Hubs is very supportive. He still can't believe all that I accomplished in NM. Heck, I look back and am impressed, lol. On this trip, I'll be hiking 2x a day if I want, plus other exercise classes. And... I will have dependable internet!!ππ6
