I read that as you got to enjoy yourself at your son's graduation party and the scale barely moved 🤗. I'm glad everyone had a great time. Congratulations to Andrew🎉
I'm glad to hear that you can still do your walks (as long as you don't experience any discomfort) and go on vacation out west. Ahem- no lifting, no rowing. Take it easy, that way you get to enjoy your vacation. Fingers crossed you can get on the surgeon's calendar in August.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
You crack me up, "shorter walk at 6.64". Like I said, I'll get there by August 😆 My eyes just popped out like one of those old times cartoons, 10 MILES? You both are incredible! In my head I hear SuperWalkers (instead of Superman) 🤩
That's so good to hear about your blood sugar 🤗
You're "Pushing for 8 or more miles" today 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So impressive!
@888Angie888
Incredible amount of high steps 👏🏻👏🏻 Way to go Angie!!
@Beverly2Hansen
Why can't technology work correctly all of the time? I know what you mean. I have three different pedometer apps on my watch, they all give me different steps and distance 🤦🏻♀️ Terrific high step day! That's impressive, jogging in place while watching TV. I can ride while watching, but if I was to jog (well for me walk) in place, I'd probably forget to move. Great work staying within your calorie budget and getting in all of that water!
@runzfromzombies
Congratulations on your loss 👏🏻👏🏻
@Poobah1972
Thank you again for joining the motivation team! I'm so glad that Linda and Megan asked you. You both are doing amazing with your eating, tracking, walking and strength training and now working on sleeping. I'm so glad you both are on this path together. Hopefully the melatonin worked, especially since you get up at 4:30 (I don't understand that number, 4:30).
It sounds like the melatonin worked 😄 Congrats on walking six laps AND in that humidity. You're definitely dedicated to sticking with it 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@lcfa5317
Nice loss and great work tracking your calories every day 👏🏻👏🏻 I'm glad that you are exercising daily and already feeling stronger. Nicely done🎉🎉
@azkunk
Day four! You did it AND over the weekend! Congratulations on your loss 👏🏻👏🏻 great work staying within your calorie goal and getting in 90 oz of water 🙌🏻 I'd be sloshing around 🤣 or peeing nonstop🤦🏻♀️
Thank you, this iPad battle is a tough one. It's almost like an addiction for them. They wake up it's the first thing they want to do. I am modifying an iPad schedule, thank you Pinterest.
@amymartin555
Fantastic steps today Amy AND kettlebells! I hope you slept well.
@rwood566
Great steps and that's not even counting the treadmill 👏🏻👏🏻 Nicely done staying within your calorie range. Super idea of planning to have the ice cream in your day. Your steel cut oatmeal sounds delicious. Good luck with your sleep apnea test! Great idea about a recipe page. I love that Robin Williams quote, thanks for sharing.
@roz0810
That was a huge increase in steps. Your treadmill is really stepping up your game (get it stepping, steps 🤦🏻♀️).
@BRGking
Terrific steps! Keep it up 🤩
@lindamtuck2018
🤗 You had over 5,200 steps 👏🏻👏🏻 AND that's with the head cold. It's so hard to sleep and exercise when you're not feeling well. Great news for you up in Ontario. Stay safe.
Thank you! And I slept just over 7 hours. That is the first time in a long time.5 -

Awesome steps yesterday! I hear my daughter always complaining about iPads so it is tough. Mari, our previous captain, had one of those trampoline things. I don’t think that would be so good on my knee. After a knee replacement there are certain you are not supposed to do. I think the bounce won’t be good. I will figure it out.
@lcfa5317
Great job on tracking and exercising.
@azkunk
I am so glad the IF is working out for you. When you decide to do something your drive to get it done impresses me every time.
@Beverly2Hansen
Great day meeting all your goals. @Megan_smartiepants1970 should be able to convert the jogging in place to steps.
@amymartin555
Amazing steps! When using kettlebells to you have a routine or follow a video? Even though I have used them in the past with a trainer, I wouldn’t have a clue how to start.
@rwood566
I love how you plan and fit special treats like ice cream in your day. Nice work in the gym!
@roz0810
Your getting lots of use on the treadmill. Awesome day!
@Poobah1972
Luckily, we have air conditioning included with our rent. So I can run it as much as I need without worrying about the hydro bill. I am impressed that you walked in the humidity. We are getting thunderstorms later today in southern Ontario so I hope it cools things off a little. Another great burn for you today.
Thanks! For kettlebells I have watched alot of videos on different exercises they but I just pick about 4 and do so many of each and then repeat until I finish. Nothing fancy. I figure it has to help.3 -
@TheresaM787
When it is very hot outside, I will sometimes walk the dogs after dark. Rather than a flashlight, I use a headlamp. They don't cost much, and they are very light. I don't usually like things on my head, but the headlamp that I wear at night is wonderful!
Love that meme with the dog! That is hilarious!
@Poobah1972
Thank you for being the newest team motivator! You are perfect for the job!
@Beautyofdreams
I would like the recipe as well so I can give it to my daughter:)

I had such a busy day yesterday and today. I was in the car a good bit and out of the house most of the day. I was within my calorie goal yesterday and brought my water and some snacks with me.
This morning I left home at 7:30 AM to bring my daughter's car to get her tire replaced. I had to go to the grocery after that and then home. Change of plans, and I was unprepared. I had to go to the car place, drugstore to pick up a prescription for my mom, drop it off to her, fill up my daughter's car with gas, back to the car place to have them check something on the car and then finally the grocery. Didn't get home until noon.
I did not eat breakfast or have my coffee and didn't bring water with me. I never go anywhere without my big water bottle but forgot it this morning. I know that I have made progress because I smelled food in the air and did not stop for a fast food breakfast. I had a snack bar in my purse and had a protein drink from my mom's. I bought a bottle of water at the gas station, and there were a lot of guys in there buying pizza, hot dogs, etc. I got my coffee when I got home. In the past, that would have gone a whole lot differently!
My weight is up a little, maybe water weight, because I started strength training two days ago. I did weights yesterday and the day before. I am very sore today. I've heard others here say that lifting weights can cause a little water weight, so maybe that's it. My weigh-in is tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers that it is at least .1 down:) If not, I'll know why.
Have a great day, everyone!

@iradi8 excellent work avoiding the pitfalls. I think I would have failed.
@Tazaria87 you do so much every day. I'd probably get worn out just watching a video of you. Amazing work all the time.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 wow!! How far is the next town?
Today I've started thinking of working towards the local Komen 3 day walk. I'd like to do it either this year or next. The drawback that is keeping me out is they require 2000 in donations per entry.
I spent about 1 1/2 hours at the zoo today. They opened a new hummingbird exhibit and kimoto dragon set-up. Very nice but small. Walked across the park and watched the elephants and then walked back. Didn't need to rest. Woohoo.5 -

Another terrific step day Joni👏🏻👏🏻
@Tazaria87
Wow Ashley 🎉 it was a huge five for five day for you 🙌🏻 That was a terrific idea walking the kids to the playground, letting them run around and play, then walking back. I know I've said this before, I love how you and your folks go for walks. How close do you live to one another?
That soup sounds so delicious, PLUS yummy homemade bread! What a day you had!
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Congratulations on that super long walk👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 How do you walk for 3 hours and 24 minutes? How? How are you not stopping to pee?🤣 How is your legs, back, hip, not hurting? Please tell me that it's conditioning, that you've built your way up. I'm sorry that your foot was in pain, stupid screw. You are really an inspiration. I'm so impressed that the three of you go for such LLLOOOOOONNNNGGG walks together.
@lindamtuck2018
Well done on your walk 👏🏻👏🏻 and you walked even further! Oh no, I guess your head cold didn't go away. I hope some hot tea and honey will make you feel better.
@888Angie888
Another incredibly high step day 👏🏻👏🏻 Do you walk and listen to podcasts or music or just silence?
@littleflutterby
You are hilarious, waiting to weigh yourself until after you, um do your business 😆 that's another fine loss Tanya! You're going to hit that goal real soon.
@amymartin555
That's a great idea, you made your own kettlebell routine to suit your needs 😃
@iradi8
That's a great idea🙌🏻, walking the dogs at night AND using a headlamp to keep your hands free. Thank you, that meme made me laugh too.
Sloan, that was terrific planning yesterday, bringing snacks and water with you while in the car and away from the house. Look at the well defined mindset you developed! You stayed true to your plan as best you could, grabbed a bottle of water from the gas station, had a snack bar and shake already packed, AND didn't give in to fast food 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I hope you gave yourself some pats on the back, if not here you go 🙌🏻 🙌🏻! Great job introducing strength training into your routine, and again well done today 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 yayyy Sloan!!
@rwood566
Wow, that sounds crazy! You're one dedicated walker - 3 days! It sounds like you had a terrific day at the zoo today, all of those steps and while getting to see the animals. Is the zoo close by?

Thanks @TheresaM787 .... We leave at 5:30am ...it is so peaceful and hardly anyone on the road ...I do not look at my phone to see what time it is ...we just walk and walk and walk .... Since I do IF I do not drink or eat anything until noon so I do not have to pee while I am out there .....Hips hurt and my toes hurt ....It is not conditioning ... I am one of those people that just keeps going and going and going until we are home ...then I soak my feet/toes in an epson salt foot bath and today I crashed until after 1pm ....Thanks I have to live with the pain in my foot... my hips well I was born with hip dysplasia so I have to live with that pain too ...I love our time together and I love my mornings5 -
Steps 11,895
Nothing went as planned yesterday, I was all prepared abs looking forward to starting a new work out program but our internet was not working where I worked out. Spent a good bit of time getting our new internet extenders to work but then no time to work out. Dinner was chicken kabobs with kale salad6 -
Bike- 30 minutes, 8 miles 👎
Steps- 10,000 ✅
Seltzer- 8 cups 👎 only five cups
Tracked everything ate and drank ✅
Under calorie budget ✅
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Steps 15,000
Ok, here it is.
I definitely took it too far 🤦🏻♀️. My feet, ankles, legs, hip, back were all feeling it. I didn't have the energy to do my ride afterwards. Here's the kicker, I told myself (ahead of time) I'd increase my distance slowly, and then thought while I was walking, "Oh, what the he🏒🏒 " (such shocking language😆). I get so inspired seeing all of these awesome step posts. I don't know how those of you walking through the pain, are able to do that so often. You're a bunch of animals! Thank you for inspiring me, although my lower body doesn't like you anymore, my head and heart have nothing but love and respect for all that you do 🤩
Edited to add this- I tracked my mopping, it was almost 2,000 steps (the entire house is pretty much all wood floors, so much mopping).6 -
@iradi8
Well done resisting all those food cues. Are you doing your strength training at home? It certainly could cause water retention.
@rwood566
That is a great NSV in walking without needing a rest.
@TheresaM787
That’s quite the walk. Well done! I would be too tired to do anything let alone mop my floors. You are definitely a beast.

Two walks that is great. Especially walking with 4 small kids. Is your Dad still using mfp?
Yes, both my parents are still using MFP! They are both struggling a little right now with food intake. Using camping and other weekend plans as an excuse to eat more than they have been lately. They haven't logged a weight loss for a couple of weeks now but they still log every day and get outside for walks so they are still fighting! Dad is just shy of 40lbs lost and Mom is right around 20lbs. Thanks for asking!5 -
@iradi8 will get the recipe sent to you tomorrow in messages. Water weight gain is common when you start a weight program. It is will go away as you progress further along.4

We live just a few miles away from each other! And then just a mile further past my parents' place is the lake where we walk. They just put it in a couple years ago and are still developing it with more entrances. It's pretty awesome. Pretty soon a new entrance will actually be opened that's on the road by my parents' neighborhood so it will be even faster to get to.2 -
Step count for today is27,653. That was more than 10 miles. These past couple of weeks I have been consistently getting over 10,000 steps every day. I also did well on my my sleep last night. A little over 7 hours. That is so much better than the 5 hour or less that I usually get. I also did 30 minutes with my smart hoop.
This is such a great group! You are so encouraging. It makes it so much easier to succeed when you have people like everyone in this group cheering others on!7 -
No time to read all of the posts. Day 5 of IF is in the books. The scale was up again today but I am not surprised. That low number yesterday was the surprise. Just seeing it again was enough ... for now. We'll see what tomorrow holds.4

Check in for 6/8:
Steps - 10443. Zoo early and store late.
Calories - just over 1500. Ate well. Nothing at the zoo.
Exercise - zoo for 1 1/2 hours. Didn't claim it as exercise on MFP since we walked really slow.
Have to pick up my apnea test in the morning. Might hit the gym afterwards.
Got the ingredients for the 3 item cookies.on MFP. going to make them in a couple days when the bananas are ripe. Should be interesting.6 -
19,314 steps today
Some of those steps were carrying heavy groceries and some were moving our first family recliner. My feet are very sore and the right one hurts but a good night's rest will surely fix me up. All in all it was a great day. I did have trouble feeling good about my progress today. I woke up having a low confidence day but instead of deciding to make poor choices because I'm not seeing the results I'd like I decided to work extra hard and make the progress happen. I think one of my biggest problems is that I want fast results which aren't practical or really possible for me at this point.
I drank 2 litters of water.
I ate within my calories.
My plank was 1min30sec5
