Hello Everyone. Still out of town at our condo getting repair work done The furnace & air conditioning unit installation was finished late yesterday. Some of the painting had to be redone. I have now extended my stay for a second time. I am having our friend & Fire Chief meet with the contractor and me in the morning. Hubs and I are paying good money for the work. My standards are very high, and I'll not have crap work. This contractor knew this going in... Thinks he can BS me cause hubs isn't here this trip, lol. This week s/b a lot of work, but a heck of a lot of fun. I'll check in when I can. Lee🙂

I texted my parents to see if they wanted to walk with me but they were busy so I went by myself. For my birthday, we went to the local bakery and picked out treats as planned. I got a cinnamon roll and a lemon cupcake for myself. The cinnamon roll was divine. The cupcake was disappointing so I gave the rest of it to my husband. That would have been unheard of in the past, giving away food I paid for even though I didn't enjoy it. I figured though that it wasn't worth the calories to eat something I didn't like. I also prelogged a couple glasses of wine and had those once the kids went to bed. I hopped on the scale this morning out of curiosity and was the same today that I was yesterday so it's all good.6 -
Hi all! Welcome to new members! I've been a member of this group since last August. My name is Ashley. I'm 34 years old, a wife, and a mother to a 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life, with several journeys up and down the scale. I hit my highest weight of 323 lbs 6 years ago. I lost 100lbs about 4 years ago but then got pregnant with my daughter and slowly put most of it back on.
My current journey started in the middle of April last year. I'm determined to make this my last one. I've had some slip ups and some difficulties, (the most recent being the loss of my senior kitty) but the difference this time is that I just keep going no matter what. My starting weight for this month is just over 161lbs. I'm down 108lbs.
I decided to use a calculator to try and figure out a goal weight for myself since I'm getting close-ish. It said 148lbs so that's what I'm going with for now. I figure when I get there I can land wherever my body is most comfortable weight wise.
I count calories and do IF from 1pm to 9pm.
Here's what my daily goals look like:
Track everything
Stay under calorie- Between 1200-1300
80+oz of water
9000+ steps (One rest day a week)
Exercise 6 days a week
Anyone may feel free to add me as a friend on the app! My diary is open to friends.3 -
Hi I'm Beverly. I'm a full time caretaker for my elderly father. I'm the mother of a 9 year old girl. I weigh 148.0lbs today and my first goal is 130.0lbs. I started(this time) not to high at 161.0lbs. I was hoping to lose 21lbs by July when I started. I have Endometriosis and had my last surgery in 2019 but this time I didn't bounce back like before. My muscles over 5 years of sitting on my bottom atrophied massively. I'm losing weight before I begin a strength training program. My self image is fragile so I knew it was important to get to a lower weight before adding 20lbs of muscle. Some of that muscle will build along this weightloss journey but it's close to a year long goal broken up into obtainable stages. Step 1. Lose 7lbs 3 months in a row I'm 1lb shy of 7lbs in May unless I lose over night. 2. Don't go below 10,000 steps try to get higher. 3.Plank everyday 4.Drink 60-100oz of water 5. Eat within weekly calorie deficit. I say weekly because sometimes I have an ultra low day followed by a higher day because that's easier for me long term. Some days I feel like I'm really half doing this and so I tell myself well that's 50% more effort than not doing anything and I keep going. Thank you for letting me be on your team. Because I know there'll be other surgeries I need to train my body hard between them so that I can recover more managably.5

I completely avoided MFP all day. Turns out to be a terrible day. Made two more crap loaves of keto bread. Whether was cool this time, low humidity in the house... So can't for the life of me figure it out (worked perfectly for the first 17 loaves). Tried new yeast... I'm going to have to try more new yeast? Then I spilled an entire bottle of avocado oil on the floor.... then an entire bag of riced cauliflower on the same floor moments after Lynn cleaned it (as I was still cooking supper for tomorrow, (cause today is a fast day)).
At this point I just want to pass out and forget today ever existed. Good night!7 -
@Poohbah1972 I also have days like this. I have a mountain of chores stacked in my future because I'm probably not getting to them today. I got dizzy on my outdoor walk had to buy a protein bar to get home. Today's not over yet but I'm over it to. I have faith that tomorrow will be a better day for us both.5

Good evening everyone.
@littleflutterby great pics. I see a good difference. Sometimes we can't see it in ourselves.
@Poobah1972 hope you don't fall out of bed tonight. I hope you have better luck tomorrow.
@theresam787 huge numbers again. Wtg. Enjoy the family visit.
@Bluetail6 way to hold their feet to the fire. Enjoy the rest of your time there.
Check in for 5/30:
Steps - 12846. My tootsies hurt. Luckily I can't feel it much.
Calories - 1710. Had to change up dinner plans right before dinner because I found out we didn't have veggie burgers. We had veggie bfast sausages. Tomorrow will be meatless Monday now.
Exercise - 5 mile walk at 830 am. 1:38. 25 min recumbent bike ride. 4.5 miles. Light effort. 3 machines - 2 leg and 1 back. I'm really surprised my legs aren't rubber after all of that.5 -
Steps 9,999 +? So my google fit app malfunctions about once a month and today is our lucky day as it got stuck at 9,999. Did I walk more than that? Yes. I spent at least 40 steps trying to fix it. That being said today was never going to be my greatest achievement because I'm tired. I know I hit 10,000 and as long as I hit that honestly it doesn't need to be any higher tonight.
Water- 66oz
Food- 1450ish ballpark with a 1720 allowence. I thought it'd be going over on food tonight but the junk food I had planned was thoughtfully devoured by mommies little thief... I mean helper. So no shenanigans in my diary tonight... there's always tomorrow.6 -
My steps were 8530 today (Sunday's are my rest day) ...My goal for now is 10,000 and work my way up to 20,000 like it was before my surgery5

Hi all, here for Monday check in.
Ouch, it wasn't nice to see this number staring back this morning. I ended up having having takeaway greek food on Saturday evening, it wasn't all bad as I had grilled chicken skewers, the chips, tzatziki and coleslaw were probably the calorie part of it.
I know I shouldn't really expect a loss given last week, but it still feels momentarily frustrating in how quickly it effects the scale. Whilst I'm not in this position yet, it makes me think of a post I did a while ago in how would the long term picture look like, how would I be able to sustain and not put the weigh back on with stepping back from counting calories where possible combined with meals out etc.
However, this week has shown me how my body feels eating that sort and quantity of food after so long. I noticed that I definitely get fuller a lot quicker than I used to eating these types of foods, which is a good thing. It's probably a mix of diet change, weight loss and getting older haha.
My aim in June is lose 4 pounds and subsequently have the rest of the month and beyond weigh ins be green!
Thank you all for your supportive comments this past week, it has been much appreciated.
Here's to getting back on track, have a great week everyone!6 -

My doctor Appt is next Monday and until I can get my little medical issue (suspected inguinal hernia) addressed, I guess I should be satisfied with status quo since I've basically stopped all exercise in the last few weeks. I'm down 1.5 lbs this week which was offset by a 1.5 lb gain the week before and preceded by a 0.8 lb loss and before that, a 0.8 lb gain so basically I'm exactly at no change over the last 4 weeks. I may need to reboot my Fitbit scale to get it unstuck from 'plateau mode'.
Actually I'm pretty happy because yesterday was our niece's graduation party and they had BBQ - one of my weaknesses and while I didn't completely throw caution to the wind, let's just say I had more than 1 serving. I did make sure to fill my plate with plenty of goodies from the veggie tray and fruit bowl first so maybe that helped a little bit. Our sons graduation party is next weekend and he wants BBQ as well but that's not all we eat here in St. Louis - it's just a coincidence. However it is convenient / easy to serve for afternoon parties and we'll offer plenty of vegetarian options so I'll have choices.
Anyway, I need to keep it low key for another week until I know my medical situation a little better. I'm mentally prepared for what I hope will just be minor surgery followed by a quick recovery. In the mean time, I'm considering this time as my 'battery recharge period' and building up my commitment to exercise once I'm sure it's safe to do so. For now, I'll just try to maintain reasonably healthy eating habits and think 'non-flabby' results (mind over matter right?).6 -
First weigh in and I didn't lose anything 😒 it's all my fault, should have not celebrated Memorial day, well, all week. I'll do better next week. Got some good protein powder 💯3
