Check in for 6/1:
Steps - 13398. Feet surprisingly don't hurt.
Calories - up against 1800 again. Two days in a row. Time to figure it out. Had a 1 scoop ice cream and cherry crisp.
Exercise - walk in the morning and gym after lunch. Only 7 machines. Body said enough after that.
I just read your posts but am drawing a complete blank.5 -
@888Angie888 - I need the creaminess in my coffee. Not even milk will do. I do have a milk frother, maybe I’ll try switching to lattes
@red1185 - we have just started taking out puppies out for walks. It’s not going so well, they are crazy.
@Poobah1972 - I will keep that in mind but first I need to make it 16 hours ... lol
@amymartin555 - I had to look up the smart hoop. Looks interesting. Let us know how sore your abs are tomorrow
@Aqualang26 - did you just start with 18 hrs or work up to it

16,320 steps for me on 6/1....my hips and calves are sore ...but we are going back out in the morning Have a great night everyone6

Wowww!!! You are a walking MACHINE! Hernia surgery and your poor tootsies can't keep you down 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Oh, I need my coffee. Ok, I don't know if I need it, but I love drinking a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.
@rwood566
Incredible, two for two 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I think the two have you have a bit of Nancy Sinatra in you "these boots are made for walking and that's just what I"ll do" (this is what happens when you stay up late and then get up too early). Amazing day for you. That cherry crisp sounds divine.
@Beverly2Hansen
And it's a trifecta, three super high stepper posts in a row!! Terrific day for you, high steps, lots of water, extremely long plank (are you doing the plank 30 day challenge) and stayed within calorie goal! Boom, mic drop 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@amymartin555
This is crazy, fantastic four in a row! Another high stepper! You had a huge calorie burn day, steps, jumps, hoops 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Happy for this loss! And even better my renpho scale says I am only overweight and not obese.
Sun finally came back out so steps are up! Did my normal loop with old dog and the large neighborhood walk with my friend. Felt so good after 4 days inside.
Dinner last night was tacos for my daughter since the kids get sick of the skinnytaste meals. I can never please everyone. I only had two and was full which is not typically the case for me.5 -
@roz0810
Happy very early birthday! Are you enjoying your walks? Do you prefer the treadmill or waling outside? Great steps yesterday 👏🏻👏🏻 Love that goal to reach by your birthday.
@Poobah1972
Thank you so much. I do need to talk to him. I guess, I just expected him to realize what is going on in my head, after seeing me eat differently and actually get in exercise. It unfortunately will need to wait until my in-laws go home. I've held out from the donuts yesterday, we'll see how my willpower lasts today. Thank you, yes you are extremely lucky to have one another, Lynn sounds super supportive and I love that you both are doing this together.
@red1185
Spectacular step day 👏🏻👏🏻 That's hilarious "teacher summer vacation brain", I've never heard of that before - I'm a former elementary school teacher (in my previous life, before kids). I'm sure you are going to be even busier over the summer! A beach vacation sounds wonderful.
@888Angie888 and @azkunk
Thank you so much. YES, I know the feeling. It's a challenge. How do you manage with your husbands? If either of you has a magic wand, or a beating stick, please let me know. I've joked with my sister about how much easier life would be if he (husband) would just obey and do as I willed 🤣 it's for his own good of course 😉
@rwood566
Thank you for my five star rating! I needed that.

@red1185
Sounds like your dog helps you with your activity level. A beach vacation sound so nice. We are going to the Dominican in December 2022 when my daughter graduates nursing school.
@TheresaM787
Two walks! That is awesome. Great job on tracking and calories.
@roz0810
I added you on Fitbit. Your goal is realistic.
@amymartin555
You are a beast. I am curious, what is the most steps you got in a day?
@Aqualang26
Use this group in what ever way works for you.

Another great step day! Are you doing a plank challenge? That is an amazing time.4 -
@rwood566
Loving all you great steppers today. Staying within calories and having dessert is heaven.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
It must feel good to be walking again. Great job!
@rlaskey2

My walk was longer than I thought it would be. I ended up wandering through the subdivision. Luckily, I prepped my lunch and supper before I went as i was in a lot of pain the rest of the day. Bottom line is I have to keep moving. When this started with my back/leg I slowly cut back my walking until I didn’t go at all. Today, I am planning to walk and get a tea. Scales are still being grumpy. I am going to have faith that I am doing everything right and they will cooperate. Off to vacuum and prep my meals for the day.
Happy Hump Day!6 -

Question for Apple Watch users:
How does it interface with MFP? Does it give you a calorie adjustment every day? My Fitbit is not giving me reminders to move, no disco ball when I hit my steps, etc anymore. I have reset it and a few other things. Time for something new.2 -

Hi linda
The most steps I have ever got while wearing my fitbit was a few years ago and I got 32,000. I kicked butt that day. Lol I seem to compete with myself. I always try to beat my previous best. I only get this many steps when I am not working on my art dolls.3 -

@Megan_smartiepants1970 ugh drought in CA is serious - another cloudy, heavy day here and I'm meditating on sending rain your way
@lindamtuck2018 My body is the same!!! I gained 1.4 yesterday and I'm thinking it has to be the sodium and eating late - hope that's what it is.
@Z10Rtza I hope the accupuncture helps! I just started this and some Chinese herbs, for the same. I've done it now for about 2 weeks and I know it will take a while but meanwhile I feel better. Let us know if it helps.
@TheresaM787 Glad you had a rant. You are in a tough situation, having to resist yummy things in the house, and having your husband bring them in. There could be a part of him that wants the "old you" back again. Way to go setting a great example for your kids.

Good job on getting a walk also on the meal prep. That helps so much. I hear you on the grump scale. My scale is mad at me I think. Right now my measuring tape is more my friend than my scale.3 -
I gained 1.4 yesterday! This crazy body - it might be sodium and I ate right before bed. I started out healthy but took a bad turn, still staying within my calories, though. Sometimes I think it is not how much I eat, but what I eat. I also have a lot of stress, my mom broke her hip and yesterday was my first day to not be at the hospital for 10 days. She has been moved to a rehab facility and we hope she can go home, eventually. It will be a long haul for her. One thing they kept mentioning is "she's so overweight". This has motivated me to do better, for sure. Yoga yesterday and took the dogs on a walk. I'm getting ready to do a small yoga session and then kettlebell with a video.6

@littleflutterby I loved the before/after pics! I could see a difference, for sure.2

Good Morning Everyone... It's Wonderful Wednesday 🌞. By day's end your work week will be mostly behind you, and the weekend will be quickly approaching.
So, take your arms and stretch them big like the sky, and give the whole world a big ole hug, and feel the good vibes all around you! 🙏 (I sweat I haven't had any magic mushrooms this morning 😅😋)
With all the good will and loving feelings out of the way... 😊
I seem to have a problem... I can't seem to stop spending money on the Home Gym. Those adjustable Dumbbells I recently purchased, are just to time consuming to fiddle with in between sets. It's protracting our work out time, and it's taking away from enjoyment of the event. If I had my way, I would have gone with the IronMaster Adjustable Dumbbells, these are pretty much considered to be the top dog in the Adjustable Dumbbell market. They feature a quick lock mechanism, with just a quarter twist you take the entire side of the dumbbell apart, and either add plates or take away plates, then insert the locking pin and quatre twist and Wamo Your back in action. Probably 4 times quicker than what I'm doing now. Basically, superior in every way compared to what I was using. Such as.- Solid and doesn't come lose during sets
- Ends are flat and can be put on your knees to kick into position for DB Presses without bruising your quads. (Old ones were thread rods that dig into thighs)
- Feels just like a regular Dumbbell
- Compact form factor that allows you unhindered movements - Screw bar type is longer and can be awkward in some movements.
- Generally, very refined
So, I just happened to check on kijiji yesterday... And like 10 minutes prior some guy that lives 3 hours away put a New in Box Listing up for Iron Master 75lb Kit complete with the ironmaster Table... and the Heavy handle accessory. Which means I can give this stand to Lynn, so we both now have a Dumbbell stand. And I can go from either 5 - 75 pounds or more likely 20-90 pounds per dumbbell with the Heavy hand kit. Which means I'm just 10 pounds shy of the max weight I can currently do with the set I don't like. And when I'm ready I can buy an 120lb booster set, which will allow me to go from 20 - 135lb. Which is probably more then I'll ever need. lol
Why is this amazing... Cause Iron Master Dumbbells are so sought after, that the only way to buy them currently is to enter a lottery process for just a slim chance to be able to buy one... And the next lottery process doesn't even open for application till July. And the price I'm paying is slightly less then I would have had to pay if I was able to buy them from Iron Master, and they don't have to ship from the states which is a huge cost.
So, Sunday I'm driving to Vaughn and picking me up some Iron Masters. And my 200lb (100 x 2) set is going up for sale. (I'm going to keep my 2 x 52.5 pound set for now, as It gives me options.).
And so, my fiancé doesn't get jealous... I bought her a set of Pepin Adjustable DB handles that can be used with the weight plates she already has. These are really high quality, and check all the same boxes I listed before thus will make her DB's feel like Gym DB's as well. And will make change overs a bit quicker however they are not quick connect so more screwing is required. 😋
Turns out Canada is home to 2 reputable manufacturers of Adjustable Dumbbells... Baddass out of Alberta, and Pepin out of Quebec... Unfortunately, neither feature the quick lock mechanism which makes IronMaster Strand out. In case you wonder Pepin's are more refined with electric powder coat painted / engraved plates (very space proficient, and might even be better Ironmaster in that respect... However, the Baddass are kind of backwoods, but way more Heavy duty and unbreakable. But plates are just painted, nothing fancy at all and will flake eventually.
So, with all that said... Lynn and I have now begun to prepare for our workout the day previous. So, after supper, and kitchen clean-up we marched down stairs... Got our books out, wrote up our exercise plan for the next day, and Prepared our 2 sets of dumbells for the first 2 exercises (We each have to adjustable sets each). We even put the bench in position for first exercises. That way when we get home from work tonight, everything is ready to go. No messing around. 😉
So, there you go... All you ever needed to know about Adjustable "Heavy" dumbells market. Don't get me wrong Powerblocks are also kewl and very quick to adjust, just not my cup of tea and doesn't allow certain type of movements due to your hand being boxed and are quite fragile if you accidently dropped em (which can happen). 😆
Okay.... Totally get it if you skipped all that. hehe
The morning walk was good... Very Very Very Good! 🙂😊😋😎💪

I love my Apple watch! It is a series 2 so way out of date but does what I need it to. The goal is to close your three activity rings each day. One is the move ring - which is reaching your active calorie goal (that you can change), one is to get up every hour 12 times a day (I get a reminder at 10 minutes before the next hour to get up if I haven't) and the exercise ring (you have to purposely select an exercise to do for at least 30 minutes to close the ring)
To your question, you connect to the Health App which records your steps and exercise and that is what interfaces with MFP. So on a day where I have actual exercise recorded, I get calories added for that but there is also a step adjustment which on exercise days is usually a negative adjustment. If I only have steps, it is a positive adjustment for steps.2 -
