Oh, Cindy, it looks so much better! I love Hen and Chicks and it looks like you have a little chick there. I had some in Hickory and it seemed the chicks would push the mama up out of the dirt so I would have to keep putting more around her. They lasted one winter outside, most of the chicks died and maybe one would live and start a new family in the summer. I had an aunt-in-law who put hers in an old boot and kept it by the steps to her porch, so cute! I think I will leave these inside this summer rather than on the porch. They are doing so well inside I hate to undo that!

I'm starting to get that antsy feeling, wanting the results of what's wrong. I know what the MRI's say (not sure I believe them - how could my hurting SI be unremarkable?!) But I would love to know if I have something that is causing all of these joints to hurt or be degenerating!

Carole, the frankincense seems to work best on the areas that don't have a lot of flesh over them, like my hands and knees. I don't think it can reach my hip though, but it does seem to help with my SI which, again, doesn't have as much flesh between the oil and the joint. I did do my first uses in a carrier oil (I used MCT oil) just to make sure I could tolerate it. The scent is quite strong too, but fades quickly after applying. I like it better than the hemp creams I was using!

I hope you ladies have a great day. Never forget, Jesus loves you and so do I!

Aarg. I got on the scales today! I knew I had gained a lot, but not that much! I have got to get back eating at least semi healthy. Cinnamon rolls, cookies and fried chicken just don't cut it!

AND DOUBLE AARG. The Missouri governor quit allowing state money to be used by library's for purchase of Libby books. The reason behind it is assuring that underaged are not able to access inappropriate books. Anyway that doesn't sound like that big of a thing since I live in Kansas, but all of the libby books that I borrow are from 2 different Missouri Library systems. One for Kansas City, MO and the other is more for the county. My local library has a better hoopla assortment, but that is their only digital library. The state library has cloud library and they are great about purchasing requested books, but the ebooks don't go to the kindle application and not all books are available in audio.

Most of the people interviewed on the news articles are positive about getting the issue worked out with them. The state is asking for proofs and safeguards and people are fairly sure they will be forthcoming.

Oh yeah, a 13 year old is going to be honest about his/her age! I guess if you have to have a library card to get the book you can add the age of the recipient to the card and if it's less than what it should be the book would be rejected. So sad that we've degenerated so far.

I hope that you are safe and sound Connie! And our other ladies as well. We are slated to get this weather tomorrow! I'm hoping it will wear itself out before it can reach us, but I am praying for everyone who is in its path and who has been effected by it already.

Getting ready to do some practicing for our new songs to see how it sounds in the building and with the sound equipment - piano, guitar, and voice all practicing together for the first time as well. Praying my voice will hold up.

Be safe. Trust Jesus! Love y'all.

We were on the very edge of the storm. We were under severe storm warnings and wind advisories, but our "storm" was about 5 minutes of fairly heavy rain. The big problem in our area was the wind. It was blowing down power lines and causing fires, then the wind would blow and the fire would spread. At one time there were about 20 small fires. They were contained quickly, but I have never seen a "storm" (with no lightening involved) cause fires like that. A bit east of us, the storms got really bad. A tornado hit the school bus barn in the town that mom lived in before we moved her, then in Rolla, MO there was a LOT of damage. I have a lot of family there, too, but they are all safe.

Thursday it was in the low 80s, yesterday it was in the mid 70's, this morning it was in the high 50's, and now it is snowing…….what bizarre weather.

Bill has had a few intestinal issues today. I don't think I can leave him tomorrow to go to church. I sure am glad that the pastor's wife will be back so I don't have to play. Say a little prayer that we can figure out the causes of these issues. They are just too frequent and I am not figuring anything except a couple Alzheimer's meds that could be causing it. I really don't want to take him off the meds, because they are for stabilizing symptoms and they have worked well for the 2 years he has been on them.

I'm thankful you weren't in the middle of those storms, Connie. I wanted to see if you had posted anything yesterday, but my Internet was down most of the day. We had thunder storms for about 3 hours during the night, but no major problems other than high winds.

Cindy and Kim, thanks for the helpful Christmas cactus information and pictures. Connie, I'm like you with plants and can hardly believe I haven't killed this cactus yet. But I've been trying to keep it alive since it was a gift to Dwight. The only place in my house where it can get some sunlight is on the window ledge above my kitchen sink. Kim, I realized after reading your post that I've probably been watering it too much. And Cindy, I've never heard about a self-watering device. I'll have to look into that.

Connie, I'm praying for Bill and hope the cause of his problems can be found quickly.

Carole, I included a link to the mushroom self watering planter inserts that I have… as well as some birds that I think are cute. I noticed when I went to look for these that now they have some you can pour water in through the top. Mine I have to take to the sink and turn upside down to fill and then when I flip it over, gravity takes over and the water doesn't come out.

So glad y'all made it through the storms fine. Ours came through last night, wind, lightening and lots of rain. Our front yard had its pond in it this morning, although the neighbor across the street wasn't nearly as flooded as he normally gets. Praise the Lord, we were able to sleep through most of it.

Thanks for the little watering bulb information! I liked the two little birds (since I only have two plants)! They are on my wish list.

I saw my orthopedic doctor this morning and it looks like I have subacute Lyme disease and I will be going on anti-biotics for that, as well as a Rheumatoid disorder and will be referred to a rheumatologist for that. This all the inflammation in so many joints. He said when I got there that I basically had inflammation everywhere, and the MRI's didn't include my hands or knees! We aren't going to deal with the pain until we see if the antibiotics take care of the pain. If they don't then we'll look into shots. I'm glad we have some answers and pray that these antibiotic can kick out the bacteria that is in my system from a tick bite eons ago; and, Lord willing, I won't have as much inflammation and pain. Woohoo!

Love y'all and keeping you in prayers, especially for Bill right now!

Wow, Kim. Lyme disease can also cause some major dietary issues. So glad that they have finally found a cause for all of the inflammation.

I wouldn't doubt that some of the stomach issues I have are affected by it. The Rheumatoid disorder, I believe, is also bi-lateral. I have inflammation in both hands, both hips, both SI joints, both knees. He said that the pain I am having in my leg is actually coming from where the two pelvis joints meet at the very bottom, a very small area. There is arthritis there and if the antibiotics don't work for the pain in the four weeks then we may have to do a shot there which he says that it isn't going to be "pleasant"; but I figure that pain will last far less time than the pain I am already having. I'm praying the antibiotics work before that has to happen! I'm still waiting for my pharmacy to get a corrected prescription!

Our Pastor had a very good blog yesterday about the passage in 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. The phrase "made Him to be sin" doesn't mean what it appears to mean and we understand that from the Septuagint's use of the same word in the Old Testament. There are more than 100 uses of the same word but translated as sin-sacrifice or offering for sin. He had looked at several concordances (even from Reformed or Calvinistic writers) and they all agreed that it should have been translated sin-sacrifice in this passage as well.

From the post: Notice also, it is God who made Christ to be "sin" for us. There is no way that God (the Father) made His Son to become (SIN). It is not conceivable for God to make anyone to sin, or to become sin, much less make His own holy Son become sin. HOWEVER, it is consistent with the Old Testament record and agreeable to the nature of God the Father and God the Son, that the Father would give a SACRIFICE FOR SIN (a SIN SACRIFICE).

There are many preaching out there today that Jesus was the greatest sinner of all because the sin of the world fell on Him. I learned growing up as a Lutheran that Jesus was covered with our sins and that is why the Father looked away from Him. So not true. Jesus couldn't have continued to be the sacrifice if he had become sin because a pure and spotless Lamb was used for the sacrifice. We don't know why the translators chose to not use sin-sacrifice here when they did over 100 times in the OT, but they should have used sin-sacrifice, it's the only thing that makes sense. Just fascinating to see the truth through the Bible itself!

I pray y'all have a good day. I hope that Bill is doing better and you've figured out the stomach issues! Love y'all.

I am having quite a bit of pain today, could be because I had more than 1000 steps, just really affects my leg. I did finally get my antibiotics and started that last night. Lord willing they will start working quickly and they will be what stops or eases the pain.

Praise the Lord! Continued prayers for you both!

The antibiotic makes me a little bit nauseous, especially in the morning, but, praise the Lord, there aren't any other side effects. I looked up to see if there were medications or supplements (since I take loads of these) which could have a reaction to the antibiotic, and my Dulcolax chews should be taken two hours away from the antibiotic, as well as my multi-vitamin which contains Iron. I have to also cover up in the sun. Oh dear, I hope this works in weeks rather than the possible months because taking walks outside in our Southern sunshine all covered up would be undoable! But, if it works in a few weeks, I may be able to do it before the temps get up in the 80's and 90's! I am going to back off of most of my supplements though, just to be sure that I don't have a clash with something else.

So happy for you, Connie. Love

We are doing well. Bill had a rough morning yesterday morning. I was ready to leave for a few minutes of church (won't stay away very long with him by himself), but about 5 minutes before I was going to leave, he had diarrhea and I had to change him from the skin out….didn't make church. He did it twice, so immodium first time, and another the second time. I hate to give him that much, but if it doesn't get under control it is too hard on both of us. Today he is fine and went to Mom's with me this morning.

Oh no, that is rough, especially when you have to deal with it by yourself! I at least had help when Mom had an accident! Praise the Lord he is doing better. So glad it didn't stay around. Continued prayers for y'all!

I couldn't believe I'd only been taking my antibiotics for five and a half days, I thought for sure it had been a week - 🤔😕 Well, 9 more days before I will probably notice any change. These last couple of days have been difficult. I have good times where I can get around with just minor pain, but then there are times if I just move wrong I get a good jolt of pain. I praise the Lord for both times.

Have a very good rest of your day. Love y'all.

Having a good day today, praise the Lord. This post was so applicable to what I am going through and others of us as well. Hope you are blessed by it.

03-26-25 TURNING TESTS, TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, TEMPTATIONS INTO TREASURES

When God gives a command, which He knows we will not obey, it is not to taunt us or tease us or torment us. It is a test, which will prove us, and an opportunity for us to trust Him and prove His faithfulness.

When God allows us to be tempted by evil, we can either distrust Him and sin, or we can trust Him and walk in light, grace, truth, love, the Holy Spirit.

When God either tests us or allows us to be tempted, it is an opportunity to be faithful to Him. God wants us to be saved, and He wants us to be victorious, and He has provided everything we need for life and godliness, and He has power over darkness, but He gives us a free choice to obey and be blessed or to disobey and be cursed. Trial, testing and temptation will either result in godliness or godlessness, it is our choice as believers.

    Jms 1:12-17

Don't blame God for your sins.

Don't say God chose not to deliver you from sinning.

Don't say God has destined you to continue in sin.

Don't say that those who are in grace will continue in sin.

Don't say that your continuing in sin is for the purpose of continuing in grace.

    Rom 6:1-2; Rom 6:15-22

The Christian response to trial, testing and temptation is faithful obedience to the will of God.

    Faithful obedience produces spiritual victory and godly graces. Jms 1:2-4; Rom 5:3-5; 2 Cor 12:9-10; 2 Cor 4:15-18; 1 Pt 1:3-9; 1 Pt 4:12-19; 2 Pt 1:2-11

We are doing fairly well today. Yesterday was a really calm and easy day. Today started out early, but everything is going as well as possible. I have been sitting here listening to Collingsworth Family Radio on Pandora and looking at the library sites. I wanted to take a walk, but it hasn't gotten as warm as predicted and looks like it could rain anytime.

Flying home today (LONG travel day!) Left the hotel at 10am. Took a boat from Anguilla to St. Maarten, where my 1:45 flight was delayed until 3:30. I knew when we were in the air that I was going to misconnect in Atlanta. We landed at 7:35 and my flight home was leaving at 8:28. But we had to go through customs and immigration and there was no way we were going to make that. So I got online and changed it to the 10:54 flight. (Good thing - we didn't finish with customs until after 9pm.) We land at 1am and have more than an hour drive home. I'm exhausted.

I got some pretty pictures... took a walk down to the beach this morning with my coffee...

Saw these guys as we arrived at the boat launch

Oh my, I'm glad the lizards we have are tiny! When we lived in TN, we had one that used to sunbathe on our front stoop - lying on his back, too cute! What a great beach picture, although that area on the left looks like something from a police show, or perhaps someone was looking for pirate treasure!

The chickens were out all day yesterday and roamed farther than they usually do. They went to the opposite side of our house and then into the neighbor's yard - we both say, have at it - eat those bugs! Wade had pine straw in the blueberries and they loved rooting through that!

I was able to sit out on the front porch for a little while yesterday and catch those warm rays. Most of me was covered up and no sun harm was done. The back porch had some sun late in the afternoon so I was able to sit out there too.

I'm so happy that I'm doing alright this morning. I usually have quite a bit of pain the day after I have to walk more than usual (back and forth from the Net House), but today I'm doing fine after last night's walk. My leg was weak and wobbly last night but is doing great this morning - thank You, Jesus!

Have a great and quiet day. Rest lots, Cindy! Love y'all.

There was a roped off area where they had sculpted something in the sand... but I can't believe you can see that. Lol

I shared a villa with 5 co-workers. We each had our own rooms and bathrooms, but had access to a shared common area - kitchen, living room and lovely patio with private pool. Definitely one of the nicest places I've stayed for work

And here's a beach picture with no crime scene evidence. Lol

I have been reading the news articles about the Myanmar earthquake. Right now they are saying that over 100,000 people feared dead. We have a Myanmar church that is meeting in our building on Sunday afternoons. Most of the congregation is just learning English and they had to leave Myanmar or lose their lives. Many have left non-Christian family in Myanmar. Our pastor has mentored the pastor of that church (who does speak English) in getting his ministerial credentials with the Assembly of God. It was very difficult because though he speaks English fairly well, he has problems fluently reading English and there is a testing process to qualify. Through our pastor's interceding with district officials, they were able to do the testing orally and he flew through the tests easily. Those people are workers! They have done so much when we were remodeling our sanctuary and help in a lot of complicated maintenance issues. They are a true blessing, and knowing that they are watching this news and worried about family, I have been thinking and praying for them throughout the day.

What an awesome place to stay! Just beautiful.

Connie, praying for your Myanmar Church family as well as those they had to leave behind. Praying they are safe and finding shelter. These kinds of huge tragedies just remind me how close we are to Jesus coming back. Even the earth is in turmoil!

Praise the Lord, I've had a very good week. There is still pain, but not nearly as strong as it has been. I'm getting up and down much more easily and when I stand up I am able to get going without needing my cane. God is so very good.

Connie - I love how your pastor has been mentoring the Myanmar pastor and that he was able to easily pass the test. The earthquake has got to be so hard on the members and their loved ones back there. I heard that the death count is up to 1,600, with more than that injured. Praying for all involved, and please keep us updated as you learn more.

Kim - I'm thankful for all your physical progress and that you had a good week. You might be outwalking all of us soon!

Cindy - Glad you're safely home and that you got to work in such a beautiful location. I like your coffee and sunglasses with the water in the background.

I had a lovely walk in our neighborhood yesterday - so many daffodils, tulip trees, forsythia, etc.! This morning I did some weed pulling in the yard. Beth is taking me to the Milligan College (where she works) production of Little Women tonight. I'm not playing in the morning, so I can the evening without having to get up early.

Our next door neighbors (the ones with the chickens) have wisteria growing all over the trees in the woods behind their house, it's so beautiful! The chickens were free-ranging yesterday and getting braver. They usually stay in the back yards (theirs, ours, and our Pastor's) but yesterday they went into our front yard and then out by the fence (which is a ditch away from the road. I hastily texted my neighbor to let her know and she was able to get close to them to get them back where they belong! Phew, that scared me. I love seeing them free range in our yard, they are just so funny at times, but not in the front yard! That was the first time they've gone that far so none of us expected it! That's about as much excitement as we get here in the "boonies" as Mom liked to call it! Wade did get to go kayaking today. There are so many places around here that they can do that. I wish I could get into and out of them! I loved it when I was able to go.

Well, I'll let y'all get ready for your evening. Time to get my hair washed! Love you

So pretty! My little tiny bush is still full of flowers. It's an azalea, but it has a very airy look and the flowers are very light lilac. It looks exactly like the bush I had in Hickory! Hopefully it will start growing! LOL! We just have woods in our backyard. I would love a flowering cherry tree. We had two in Hickory but neither one grew like they should. One looked like an octopus (we chopped that one down since it was outside the front window), the other one was in a side garden and it's branches grew until they lay all over the ground. It barely grew upwards, but seemed always to grow a big trunk and long branches. We left that one for the new owner. Now I need to convince Wade to let me plant some lilies somewhere. I won some iris seeds from one of my authors and we're going to scatter those along the back tree line, and we have some marigold seeds that will go in front of a short log fence. They'll have to take care of themselves though, we aren't in any shape to keep a garden this year.

Praise the Lord, two good days! Love y'all.

Always praising the Lord for good days! Bill had a good day yesterday, but today I am having a bad day. Woke up with an asthma cough and my back was killing me. I took a claritin and a naproxin and then started the diffuser with the oils that really help the asthma. I think I got too many drops in it, it seems strong, but I haven't coughed since I started it. Last spring I had two diffusers going. One at night in the bathroom off of the bedroom and one during the day in the great room. They help so much! I decided that today needs to be a chill and rest day. I haven't even put on make-up.

The trees pictured are an apple tree and a crabapple tree (dark pink), I think. I know the apple is true because I had one lonely apple that the birds or squirrels got. Anyway they are about 6 inches apart, so they twine together almost like one tree. Behind them is another crab apple. Next to them is a bradford pear, and then another red one that I don't know what it is. It is pretty, but smaller flowers. Down the woods there are red buds, more bradford pear, and mimosa trees, so it is pretty looking out the back door, or sitting on the deck.

Wow, that sounds beautiful! When we lived in TN we had some mountain laurels in the woods, they were so pretty! I hate you had an asthma attack, but glad that you were able to get it under control. Praise the Lord. I hope your rest day helped.

I woke with a migraine this morning, the first in a couple of months - yay! It's just a minor lingering ache right now and I'm very tired. I happy too that my pain today isn't as bad as I thought it would be after sitting for quite awhile during Bible Study in a chair that isn't my recliner! LOL! It is a padded chair with arms so I can lean if I need to, but I still got a bit stiff and sore at times. I don't mind some pain just so I can be in in-person worship!
