What Have You Done Today That Is Healthy

Up to 230.4. Hope it doesn't climb any more!
That you can both play piano and sing is something I am amazed at. For some reason I can't do any instrument where I have to coordinate my right hand and my left hand! I did play guitar for years, but mostly just strumming so all I had to think about was chord changes. I did have to take two year of piano before being allowed to take up the guitar so I do know how to read music for singing. What a gift!

I got a little over 1.25 mile on my early morning walk. I also did a couple short errands, so got a bit of walking with those.
I am not tracking my food. I went to Chipotle for burrito bowls for tonight. My normal bowl, along with my regular lunch take me to the top of my calorie goal. Tonight though, the girl was overly generous and I knew I was going to eat every bite, so I'm just calling it a loss. Sure did taste good, though.

Back up to 131. Sigh. I'm going to work at getting that back down to 229 again! I'm not surprised after the weekend where I allow myself treats. I was careful though and didn't go overboard.

I made it to my exercise class after months of missing it. I imagine I'll be sore tomorrow

Oh yeah! Good job going back!
Did do a few house laps, will try for more today.
I found a really good pain cream. Wade tried it last night and was surprised at how quickly it worked. I usually just use it before bed and it helps keep the pain at bay so I can roll around and get comfortable! LOL!

Cooler day today made walking enjoyable. I wish I could do more on days like today, but I have been leaving Bill at the breakfast table and need to get back to him.

I am hoping that I will be able to walk more when the weather cools.
I learned some things from my talk with my NP. I don't have a nodule, I have fibrous material around the air-sacs. They saw this on my last CT scan and at first believed it was the pneumonia, but it was there again with this scan. She said that it's likely I have Interstitial Lung Disease, which both RA and pneumonia can cause. I can't say for positive that I have RA until I see the Rheumatologist, but it looks like it's tipping in that direction. I know that I've had pneumonia. She told me to wait until next week to call the pulmonologist back if I haven't heard from them by then. Hopefully I will finally know what is actually going on in my body! LOL!
I didn't weigh this morning, just forgot.

I was terrible this morning and didn't get my walk. I needed to get to see Mom (working around therapy appts) and had a few things going on here, I will just have to stay active here at home. It's too hot and humid, now.

Got a 20-minute walk in today! Overnight temps are in the upper 60s, so the evenings can be pleasant, especially since I don't walk too fast. I don't like time passing so fast, but fall will be here before we know it. Still trying to make myself drink more water.

Water is my nemesis too! I started drinking decaf coffee so it could count as part of my liquids!
I'm going to try and do some house walking today.

Decaf coffee is a great way to increase water intake, Kim. Would Crystal Light count also, I wonder? I like their lemonade flavor.

Crystal Light was recommended by Bill's Doctor to try to get an uptake in his fluids. It definitely counts. I love the fruit punch, but I usually just by WalMart's brand.
I got my 1.5 mile walking today. 1.25 in the center and .25 at Kohls doing an Amazon return. Such a beautiful morning this morning. It was about 70 degrees with just a tad of a breeze. I have to get back to my walks after missing 3x in the last week.

That's good to know about the Crystal Light, Connie. I'm going to make some now!
It was only 88 this afternoon, but unpleasantly hot while working with Beth in my raised garden bed - described on the "chat" thread. A gentle rain made the air feel better, but not in time for a walk. About 30 minutes of gardening is my count for today.

Another beautiful morning. I was able to get my walk in while Bill was eating his breakfast, then still have plenty of time to get ready for church!

Berry (antioxidants) Dutch baby pancake (2 eggs = protein) for brunch. Exercise class tonight!

Hot morning, but got about a mile in. 10.6 pounds to go!!

Whew - a hot one today. I did get a mile in, but that was it.

Storms again today, so no walk. It seems likecit has stopped, so if Bill is okay, I may walk this evening.
Got on the scale this morning and I have exactly 10# to goal. That's still a lot of work, but considering it was 32#, that is definitely a milestone.

Woohoo, Connie! Once again you are doing great! I'm yo-yoing around the 232-234 range. 😔
I saw the Arthritis, Rheumatologist PA today. I really liked him. He asked a lot of questions about my symptoms. Certain symptoms mean certain autoimmune diseases. I had some symptoms that fit into some categories but it wasn't a slam dunk on anything. Yep, there is osteoarthritis. If it were rheumatoid arthritis the pain would be on both sides at the same time. I have quite a bit that are on both sides, but they don't always hurt at the same time. He took four vials of blood for six or seven different blood tests than the ones I've already had. I had a test for rheumatoid arthritis and it was negative, and another test I've already had was in between yep and nope. One of the tests is a better test than what I had, so we will see. I don't think that it's rheumatoid arthritis, but it could be an autoimmune disease - we'll have to wait and see what comes back.
I got 1300 and a little bit more steps today, more than I've had in awhile. We went to Wal-mart after the doctor's office and I did walk around there. My back is hurting, but it feels good to be able to do it!

I went through the whole diagnosis for RA. Finally after having every joint in my body xRayed (literally), doing who knows how many blood tests, etc, she finally told me that everything in her told her that I had RA, but the tests didn't prove it. She was sure that I would be back in 12 months and they would prove it. Unbelievably (Credit the Lord!), the pain started abating.
I haven't taken a walk today. I had to go see Mom early because of her schedule, and then it was too hot. It still feels like 101, so I am probably not going to be able to get my walk in today.

Walk cut short due to heat and humidity. I got .87 mile. If i could have just walked one direction and it in the shade, I could have gone further...but that direction was 1/4 of the walk and probably 1/4 of that was in the shade.

You are hotter than we are right now and I can hardly stand to get outside!

I just had ice cream for "lunch". Nothing healthy about that. It's hot here today (84 degrees) and very humid. I helped my sister in my parents' yard, which is getting quite overgrown. Anyway - helped her with that and taking out some trash from the garage. Then I started overheating. (The bane of my existence for the last ten years or so. I don't have hot flashes, but my body thermostat is broken. If I start to get hot, I overheat quickly.) Anyway - got home maybe 15 minutes ago and headed right for the freezer. 😑

I got Bill up, ready and started eating his breakfast and took a short walk. The weather was nice, but I needed to go see Mom earlier than normal this morning, so didn't take much time for the walk. Anyway, the weather was still pretty nice when I got home, so I took another short walk. All together it was a little over 1.5 miles. I don't know what the high temp was today, but during walk time it was 82 degrees with a really nice breeze. I would have loved to walk further, but needed to get home to check on Bill.

Cindy, wow, I'm glad my overheating lasted a few months and is now just on and off. I'm great if I have a fan blowing on me (something I used to not like at all). Sometimes cold water pouring over your head helps! I never tried putting my head in the freezer though, hmmm???
We got some jelly beans on our last shopping trip so I eat four or five at night when Wade gets his and brings mine to me. It's fun to share (although he won't share the purple ones).
Hanging in at 231-232, praise the Lord!

The heat is overwhelming right now. I needed to spend some time at Mom's yesterday before her Occupational Therapy, so didn't have time for the walk in the morning. I started to try to take a walk yesterday at about 8pm. I looked at the weather and it was 88 degrees with the heat index of 108!!! I decided I just need to forgo the walks during this heat streak. I checked the scales this morning and they are still going down slowly.

I was happy to see 229.6 this morning! Yay!

Sigh. My scale is neither going up nor down, Kim, I didn't stick my head in the freezer. I went right for the ice cream in the freezer.
Any actual hot flashes I had in my 50s didn't last very long - maybe a few months. But this overheating thing is something that started after those went away. I know my limitations and I usually don't exert myself in the heat. I'm with Connie - no long walks in the heat

I was so blessed to have had very few issues with menopause. I had night sweats to start with and my sister-in-law told me to take soy isoflavins, and that totally took them away. I took them about 6 months and then stopped them with no ill effects.
I totally cheated last night. I have no idea the calorie intake, but it wouldn't have been pretty. Back to the counting today. I hadn't had a real cheat day in a long time, so I enjoyed, but I will have another one on Friday…oops. I have friends coming for dessert on Friday afternoon. I need these friend visits! I'm so thankful to have ladies that stand by me in prayer, in friendship and in sugary treats….

Mmmm, that sounds much better, Cindy - I would take ice cream over my head in the freezer any day! Wade got me some orange cream popsicles and I indulge in one or two a week - you need something to cool your insides when it's so hot! We are down about three degrees today! I think 86 is going to be our high for today. I think y'all had higher temps where you are than we did here! We stayed in the upper 80's and a couple of days reached 90. Still too hot for me. I'll go sit on the porch in the afternoon when it's in the low 80's!
Phew, I took my regular pills last night and got 7.5 hours of straight sleep. I still wake up wanting to go back to bed! LOL! Praise the Lord for that good sleep, my body needs it!
Love y'all. Hope you have cooler and better days ahead!
