Good Monday Morning Everyone!!! π€
What a burn. I'm definitely fully rested and feeling 100% this morning (83 sleep score) . It's quite evident that my legs are tip top shape first thing Monday, and generally steadily get worse each and every day of the week until I get a day or 2 rest. Went over 1.5 miles, and hit what must be PR for cardio burn. Although it's worth noting the reason for the extreme burn is just as much due to the Heart Rate monitor actually working the whole time, vs part off the time. Either way I'll take it. ππ₯π₯π₯
This makes me wonder if it might be a good idea to take the morning off on Friday (Leg day), to see if it helps with my overall performance? Hmmmmmm π€π
And it's weigh in DAY!!!! π
Seems I've kind of been steady as she goes lately.. No gigantic wooshes, and no stalls either. Sort of a happy medium. Do I wish it was quicker? Maybe, but I know darn well all this weight lifting and eating a bit more is doing my body well. I need to be concerned with the way of life, and good habits more so than sky diving without a parachute? π
Scale this morning 396.2 for a 2.2 Pound loss this week. WHoooo HOOooo ππͺππ
Well, I better get my butt to work! You all take care now, and I'll try and catch up soon. ππ€πͺπ

Well that was a pleasant surprise...This month I'm going to really focus on eating healthy, getting my 5,000 steps daily, and getting 12 cups of water a day!
Good luck everyone!!!6 -
@littleflutterby
Tanya that is a magnificent list of steps ππ»ππ» I'm so glad to hear that Gael passed her stone. Poor dear. That is wonderful news about you returning home for a visit. You set yourself up with an impressive goal. I love how you already developed a plan, by increasing your water, veggies and exercise. Yes, walking with someone helps pass the time and makes walking more enjoyable. Before hubby was walking with me in the morning, I'd listen to either motivational weight loss podcasts or audiobooks, that also helped me. Really, you used to be a competitive swimmer? That's amazing! I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I never learned how to really swim (I don't like putting my face in the water or getting water in my eyes). That would be an incredible calorie burn, swimming (quite envious of you). π€

I think I need to stop weighing every day for a while and just stick to my once a week. For the past few months, weighing every day hasn't been a problem. If I maintained for a day or two or had a slight gain it didn't bother me because I knew it would drop eventually. But, seeing the same damn number every day for like 3 weeks now is grating on me. I have these passing thoughts of just eating whatever because 'oh well', which is silly and I haven't done yet, but they are there and it's cuz of the scale. I'm gonna make it my goal to not weigh in again until official weigh in on Saturday. Maybe it will help.
Today my husband actually had to drive to the office for work, it's weird not having him in the house. So after he gets home and we do dinner, I'm going for a walk because I haven't done one in a few days.5 -

The scales can really mess with us. Get your husband to hide them until Saturday. It would be frustrating seeing the same number for that long. Sounds like you may have hit a plateau. Oh, I completely understand- and I'm sure most of us here do as well. There was a time when I thought my scale was broken because it either wouldn't budge or wouldn't go down. Eventually, I'd hit a dip and then I would stay stagnant for almost two weeks, go up and up, and then dip. That's a great idea Ashley (taking a pause from weighing yourself daily), I actually just started doing that a few weeks ago. It helped my mindset. I like how you are going to try it and see if it helps. Enjoy your walk later on this evening.

I was able to do a two mile walk before hubby came outside this morning, then together we walked a little over three miles. He hasn't missed a single day, this is incredibleπ I'm so proud of him.
I think I need to start including some stretching exercises into my daily routine, my lower back and hips are not happy with me with these mini-mini-Megan walks.
Tonight for dinner I made chicken and veggie shish kabobs with a side salad. Why don't we make shish kabobs more often? They are yummy.
Dessert will most likely be Halo Top ice cream, either mint chip or peanut butter (love their ice cream). I'm hoping to be able to drink a bit more water before turning in (I'm at five cups now, hoping to get in at least one or two more), it amazes me how so many of you drink 8+ cups of water every day. I feel like I'm going to pop at seven cupsπ3 -

Yo! Yo! Yo! π
How we doing tonight lady and gents?
Me? I'm doing great, Lynn is doing great. We are just GREAT!!!! π
Going into today, I had planned to increase calories and also increase calories from fat calories. Like doubling my Coconut Fat in my coffee this morning, and or needing more butter on my Toast, and adding a basic Cheese snack to my day. My thinking is, not only will there be more calories coming in, to power me through both workouts, there will also be more KETONES ( which is the keto form of Sugar ). Now I'm not going to kid myself and say for sure that works, but it sure seems to be.
But energy was great all day, and the workout was brilliant! We both had a good time, and I had plenty of energy to sustain our workout. And what more does one want? Granted I had a great sleep, and that probably helped too.
So... Back and Biceps (yeah buddy!)
Straight Arm Pull downs (band exercise) 2 x 20 reps
I shook this next one up a bit... Out with the Incline Bench Dual DB rows where you lie chest down on the inclined bench and row with both hands at the same time which is an absolute high energy gaser and great for keeping your form in check cause you can't throw your body into it, however it's over much sooner so less energy is used over all. So, for the more energy costly option, I switched it up to the classic Flat Bench Bent over DB Rows. I ain't going to lie, there is a reason why I was opting for the dual fisted Incline version.... Doing a full set with one hand and immediately switching to the other, before resting essentially double the length of the set and is intensely cardio on top of everything else. So, in the spirit of pushing myself harder and burning more calories, I think I'm just going to stick with this for now. (although weight keeps moving up, trying 65lb Db's next time. π)
Oh, and in case anyone is interested I start with my weak hand in the first and final set... So, I'm freshest for my week arm. (one day I hope it will catch up to the right)
In either case we shoot for 3 sets of 8-12 reps
Lat Pull downs 2 x 20 reps
We also recently received our preacher curl bench attachment.... So, our bicep workout has change slightly too.
Sitting (less cheating) Db Hammer Curls x 2 sets of 12-15 reps
Preach Ez Bar Curls x 2 sets of 12-15 reps
And to absolutely hammer ourselves into oblivion... π’π¦π
Standing EZ bar Curls x 1 set of 30 reps (yes 30...) I was really surprised that I actually pulled off all 30 reps at 37.5 pounds, so this will be the 4th consecutive week of moving up... I'm almost certain I won't manage 30 reps of 40lb's next week... But it will be fun trying.
And the calorie burn... Oh yeah it's a big calorie burning day. π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
From Lynn and I to all of you!!!! on 3... 1, 2, 3.... "IRON MASTERS!!!!" ππͺππ πππ
Good night everyone! π

Nice swim! I am hoping if we donβt have thunderstorms I will get there later in the week. Only 10 people are allowed in the pool at a time and you can only stay for a max 2 hours. COVID restrictions.
@TheresaM787
Awesome steps! Stretching before and after your walk might help. I get that they would complain with the walking you have been doing. My dietitian said any liquid except for sugar count as water intake. I count my black coffee and tea as part of my daily fluids. Your supper sounds delicious. I have to remember to check if they sell that ice cream in Canada.
@Poobah1972
Another killer workout!

Hi everyone. I hope you all are staying somewhat cool.
From what I've read some are under a lot of stress. Good luck with reducing that soon.
@Poobah1972 great work out and a nice loss.
@Tazaria87 the scales hate us. Why? It's not like we're jumping up and down on them, though some of us should. Great idea to take the break to diffuse the tension.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 amazing swim.
Excellent steps all around. Best group anywhere.
Sorry if I don't comment on everyone's posts. I can't remember most of them but I do read them.
I had the 'Butternut squash and black bean chili' from MFP tonight. It was very good and filling. I've set myself up for ice cream dessert tonight. Only had 900 cal thru 3 meals. I can easily absorb a shake but will get a dipped cone. I may splurge on a medium but no larger. If i go to baskin Robbins instead a single cup since they don't have dipped cones. I'll check in later.3 -

Met all my goals, except 1...I will work on my water intake only 73oz today...
Thank you for all your support!!!4 -
I have been very stressed due to the fact that my disability status is up for review again and I have been unable to work since 2005. The claim process takes 30 days and requires me to fill out forms, supply medical records(the hospitals have up to 30 days to send me info which is too late) and write a letter stating my case. Copy all of this and send it off to social security.
At this point in time, my kidney function is just above kidney failure and dialysis levels. I see the transplant unit to discuss if I can go back on the transplant waiting list, the suppressed Cortisol levels which cause my blackouts and fainting in the morning, after exercise or when stressed continue as both transplant and my family doctor are waiting for an Endocrinologist to adjust medication dosages. I cannot get into the one that transplant wants me to see until mid December but family doctor found an out of network one that I can get into in August. Also had a dentist appointment today and am having my prosthetic eye readjusted tomorrow while seeing transplant team. Do not look to get home until late tomorrow night. Am overwhelmed emotionally, physically and financially. Am still undergoing skin grafts each week so unable to perform very much exercise to relieve the stress. Just received a suspicious medical bill in the mail demanding payment but doesn't list service, service provider, date service performed or who was the patient. I will not pay it until investigate further despite my mother pressuring me to blindly pay it.
Read a story about stress and how we react to it whether it weakens us, hardens us or we take the experience and create something new from it.7 -
@Beautyofdreams I'm amazed at how well you are holding up with all that going on. It's more than enough for people to say f it. Best of luck with the review and all of your appointments. Smart move not to pay that bill.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 have a great walk.
@MSWarrior7088 nice steps. You'll work up to more water, especially in this heat. Welcome to the group. Now that you have seen us for a couple days what are your thoughts?
Check in for 6/28:
Steps - 13,724.
Calories - 1260. To low for my liking but I won't eat anything else.
Exercise - 5.28 mile walk in the heat of mid afternoon. Should have drank more water. 1 hour 45 minutes.
Small chocolate dipped cone from DQ. Brought back a lot of memories. I'm glad I made the room for it.4 -
Yah it's Tuesday... π
Sorry guys, it was one of those nights, I guess. Woke up at 12:45am, and remembered I had to fill a pee cup for my appointment at lifelabs today. I'm getting more blood tests, and the pee test is to further investigate my slightly anemic numbers from the first time around. Good thing was I had to go for a bad pee, but the bad news is the pee cup was 2.5 flights of stairs away in the parking lot (My Car). Coupled with that it was hot and muggy out. Anyway, did the job and all that. But Couldn't get back to sleep. Lynn had the same problem (minus the pee in a cup)
I eventually got back to sleep, but only managed a total of 5 hours, and a 58-sleep score. So, at 4:30am when my alarm went off guess what I did?
I marched right down stairs and climbed aboard the bountiful ship Elliptical and sailed the seven seas'... That's WHAT!!! ππ ππ
Honestly, I didn't expect I'd finish the 30 minutes, but I did. I got 1.5 miles again to boot. So, go figure? So given the situation, I'm pretty happy with the results. Incidentally, once I was completed, and stopped the timer I went straight to the shower, then commenced to get dressed and flop around on the bed...... Kept my ticker pumping for a good run, scoring 101 zone minutes this morning. Higher then yesterday when it's all said and done. πͺππ
All in all, not such a bad Tuesday afterall! Peace Love, and all that stuff!!! π€π€π€π

Thatβs a lot you have going on. I hope you get it all sorted out soon. Stay strong! You will get through this. You are wise not to pay the bill right away.
@rwood566
Crazy steps! Crazy walk! I think all you super walkers should make a mini team and virtually walk across Canada. I think you guys could do it. Seriously, you slayed the heat and went for almost a 2 hour walk. Awesome! Why wonβt you eat something else? Just curious.
@Poobah1972
You are unbelievable! After a terrible nights sleep you get up and kill it on the elliptical. You are amazing!

Check in for Monday
β Steps 8,130
β Sleep
β Walk
β 8/8 hourly reminders
I killed it on the steps but the price was pain and tears. My doctors appointment wasnβt the greatest yesterday so I have to see her in office at 11. To make a long story short pain medication doesnβt work for me. She said some people are like this. Your body doesnβt metabolize it. I am being referred to a pain clinic and will find out more today. I just hope itβs not as long wait as the back surgeon. In the meantime I will be doing acupuncture, physio and massage. I canβt remember if she said chiropractor. I am going for my first massage at 830 this morning and will be starting physio tomorrow.
I will be walking to my massage so I will get my walk done early. I will do my darnedest to reach my other goals. Kids are coming over for the night as my daughter is going out for their anniversary.
I am off to start a busy day. Have a great Tuesday!5 -
