YOUR TEAM'S BIGGEST LOSERS (WINNERS)6 -
Does anybody else have trouble with their ticker, or with their "pounds lost" counter? First the ticker stopped working, and then the pounds lost jumped back to 2 pounds a week or two ago, and this morning it's reading 0 pounds lost! I've messaged them, got back an automated (irrelevant) reply and haven't heard from them since. The reports still work, so it KNOWS how much weight I've lost. But it sure doesn't give me any incentive to actually pay for this program. Or maybe they fix it if you pay for it. Is it just me?
I haven’t had any trouble with this but I appreciate you sharing your experience in case others have noticed a problem. Thanks for taking action to let the MFP staff know about it and I hope it’s resolved for you soon.2 -
@cre804 - Thinking if you today as you have to consume that nasty colonoscopy ‘prep’ drink. I hope everything goes smoothly for you tomorrow/ Monday!
It took a bad experience with my first scan for me to learn to prepare the whole week ahead of the procedure, by gradually eating the recommended diet, instead of reading the instructions the day before my colonoscopy (as I mistakenly did the first time). For the younger group members, who may not have had this preventive procedure yet, I’d also recommend the earliest appointment of the day. The first time, I had an afternoon appointment and got sick to my stomach, nearly passing out in the waiting area from (my guess as someone with no medical training) a mix of dehydration and hypoglycemia.
My latest experience was a breeze, and I had no problems at all, so it makes a difference to prepare well. Lesson learned and my apologies for the ‘public service’ announcement that nobody asked for 😬🙄😬. Sorry to bring you into my long explanation!4 -

I love seeing our team in the top three performers AGAIN this week. Congratulations @partaz, @chublet25, and @twitch82!!
It’s inspiring to see so many people reaching new milestones, learning more about themselves, and finding ways to overcome any obstacles along the path to better health! Keep up the good work, everyone.
The team success is a reflection of our individual improvement so I’m confident we’ll keep showing up in the top three standings. Shrinking Assets team members don’t need to undertake any drastic measures because we are each learning, practicing healthy habits, and contributing to our team’s success. All those good … small … daily … decisions add up!! We’re taking care of ourselves - and one another - to carry the team on to the leader board!5 -

Thank you Patrice. Yes I had a low fiber diet heading up to Sunday. No raw fruits and vegs, nuts, seeds, high fiber foods. So that was a big change, I had to really think about what to eat because that’s such a big part of my regular diet. But that gave me the excuse to eat mac & cheese one day, lol. I drank a variety of things yesterday so I didn’t get very hungry. But the prep drink was awful, as expected. That was the worst part. I’m only down about 2.5 pounds after all that! Not much sleep, as I had the first appointment this morning. I’m embarrassed to say this was my first procedure, mainly put off because of the prep involved. One of the nurses said they’re coming out with a prep in pill form, but they are huge pills. Still sounds better than the drink!
They found twelve polyps, some of which were unusual because they were flat. It will take a week or two to get the pathology report back, and that will determine when I need to get the next one. Would appreciate any prayers and good thoughts for a clean report.
And to the rest of you shrinking assets, don’t be like me and put this off!7 -
@Nature003Life do you have a chance of purchasing a blood pressure meter or borrowing one for a week or two? It’s fairly common for blood pressure to be significantly higher at a doctor’s office than at home, in Finnish there’s even a word for it that translates something like ”white coat fear”. My maternity clinic freaked out about my BP in the spring - then I got a meter that I started using frequently at home according to their advice and it’s been fine ever since. When I go for an appointment, I simply give them the last reading and they mark that down. I was adviced to measure it once or twice a week, in the morning, after at least 30 minutes of rest without anything stressful or exciting like a tv show.
I don’t know how much meters cost where you live, but I think mine was about 60-80€ and it wasn’t even the cheapest model. A worthy health investment in my eyes.
I went to the store a purchased one over the weekend. Took my BP this morning and it was in the range it normally is. I will keep using it daily.
Thank you for your advice.5 -

You are in my thoughts.
I had two of these and that drink is that most disgusting thing that I have ever drank in my life
In fact I am still traumatized from the first time I had to drink it. But it's better to have it done, than to leave it and suffer the repercussions
The last time I had both the colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the same time - save me having to drink that stuff twice

Hi team! I have been lurking in the background for the last several days - recording weigh in, but not posting.
I am feverously on the job hunt. I'm beginning to think looking for work is more difficult than working! Shameless plug -- if anyone is an insurance professional in the US... I have 20+ years experience
I did have a loss last week. However I stepped on the scales yesterday and was up 3 lbs. WTH!!!!
I will be traveling this weekend, but I will take my scale with me. I've struggled with logging. I guess I've lost discipline again. Something so easy to do, just not doing it.
For all those also struggling out there -- hang in there!8 -
Stay awesome @cre804
I used to get friend requests with explicit profile pics, now it is just regular pics - what did I do to get downgraded??? Here is a pic of my six pack...
That job is out there for you @Beka3695
Diet has been shocking the last few days though I have been burning the cals on the mountain bike so hopefully all square
Keep rockin' it my friends!4 -
I had an interesting doctor’s appointment yesterday… she thinks I might be developing pre-eclampsia, so I’m on extra observation until the end of this pregnancy. No other symptoms, but the swelling is insane and the weight gain surreal. I’ve gained a total of about 40lbs during this pregnancy, 10 of those in the last month. I’m so far along that if the condition develops, treatment is pretty straightforward: induce labor and give birth. Less than two weeks to go until the baby is considered full term, so I’m hoping to make it until that point. After that, I’m ready for this baby to come out.
On a more frivolous note (compared to the overall health of me and my baby), I can’t wait for delivery so I can get rid of all the weight that comes with the baby and her current life support (placenta etc.) and for this swelling to flush out, so I could feel more like a semi-competent human being and less like a handicapped water balloon. Wincing with pain every time I try to get out of bed is starting to get annoying.8 -

@Beka3695 Hang in there, Beka!
My eating is creeping up a bit. I need to be a bit better at planning my meals so I have some extra calories left at night. I'm about four months in and down 35.4 pounds. I'll be taking a week long diet break sometime in the next few weeks and eating at maintenance level. I think I need a little refresh before starting the next phase. Have a fabulous week everyone!

I'm doing a little better staying under calories this week. I went back to drinking hot cocoa with fiber stirred into it in the morning. Very satisfying.4

@LaurieWrobo - I've been getting those requests lately as well. Almost every time I log in, there's at least one and sometime two or three requests. Some have no pic, no profile... some have nasty pics of private parts and just things I don't wanna see. The other day I had one legit request amongst a gross one and two blank ones. I'm like delete, add, delete, delete. LOL. Incredibly annoying. I really feel their filters should catch this stuff.3

Not my normal weigh-in day, but I am too excited to keep it to myself! I weigh 149.8 pounds this morning, and have made it to my "normal weight" category! I am 23.8 pounds to my goal weight of 126 pounds.
Also, today is my 6 month MFP anniversary and I have lost 75.2 pounds!
I lost at least 2 pounds every single week since the beginning, and never once had to be reminded to post my weight (in truth, I can hardly wait to post my weekly losses, haha!)
Sorry to brag, but I'm doing good and I'm proud of myself! Being in this group has helped as I am determined not to let the group down.14 -
@chublet25 - Congratulations! 🎉🎉 🎉
You’ve made fantastic progress! My favorite milestone was moving into the ‘normal’ BMI weight category so I’m feeling your excitement, too. It’s a wonderful validation of all the work you’ve put into developing healthier habits. Good for you.
The pace of your loss is amazing. For me, it’s been much slower, and I’ve had to be patient with the process, but now I trust the way my nutrition and exercise plans work over time. It used to feel as though I’d stall for weeks at each 10 pound increment (e.g., getting under 150, then again at 140) but, eventually, I stopped worrying about the timeline of achieving a particular milestone and accepted that the downward trend would continue until I reached my goal. Like you, I’m actually looking forward to my next doctor appointment to get on the scale and have them record my weight.
Thanks for sharing your positive energy with all of us, Shrinking Assets. I don’t consider it ‘bragging’ for you to describe how pleased you are about achieving a milestone goal. To me, it shows us you feel comfortable being yourself and know that we’ll want to celebrate your success. Like a healthy family that wants the best for you; your success is in some way all our success.
I appreciate you sharing what’s possible and offering everyone a glimpse of what it will feel like as each of us reaches a new personal goal, no matter how small.
Any others out there? I want to hear every incremental success story and ride the positive spiral up with you.
Congratulations again @chublet25. I smile every time I see your name appear on the weekly leaderboard as a proud member of the Shrinking Assets team. As you get closer to your goal weight, another new member may move onto the leaderboard in your place (as weight loss slows down for you but the downward trend continues); however, I’m confident that it won’t matter to you because you’ve already built great habits to carry you on to your ultimate goal. Wow! 🤩 more than 75 pounds down must feel fantastic. Enjoy the feeling! … and thanks for letting us bask in your sunlight!
I hope you don’t mind if I use your momentum to stay motivated on this very rainy day in the Washington, DC area. 😉 Cheers to you!5 -

I’m not sure if I’m still supposed to weigh in weekly now that I’ve met my goal. I don’t want to hurt the team with a gain if I’m under my goal weight (as it stands this week). I looked in the Fit2Fat guidance but didn’t see instructions on how to report my weight, or if I should just continue to calculate my progress without reporting the results here.
Anyway, my maintenance goal is to stay between 120-130 pounds. At age 55 and 5’4” tall, the BMI category range is 110-140 so I’m aiming to stay somewhere in the middle. The middle point of the BMI screening tool is 21.7 and I’m at 21.45, right now. Currently, my focus is body recomposition so I might even gain some weight but that’s alright with me if I stay within the healthy range and see positive results with an increase in muscle mass, definition, etc. Best wishes, Shrinking Assets. Go get those goals!!6 -

Congrats at hitting your goal, @PatriceFitnessPal ! And @chublet25 , this is ALL ABOUT BRAGGING!! Brag away! You deserve it and serve as an inspiration to others!
I've been weighing myself every morning I have noticed that I definitely get a heavier reading the morning after a hard barre work out. So I have noticed the trend and will try not to freak out about it.5 -
