I have spent the morning waiting for and taking delivery of a new lounge suite. I have just spent time rearranging things so the furniture fits. Colin is at the Diabetes Clinic so will have to make sense of the cords later, since it is an all electric lounge. I think he will love it. I am now sitting in my new chair to type to you. I also got a new office chair but got stumped trying to put it together as the wheels won't lock into the base for me. Colin will be happy to put it together when he gets home.

    2iz712uyxp3e.jpg

Some assembly of the new chair required! I unwrapped it, got rid of the box and packaging and now the pieces are in my craft room.

Linda, I love your grandchildrens' creativity! Thank you so much for the chalk art pictures and picture of Etta. They are really clever!
I was relieved to hear lots of groups are helping the hurricane victims. You are right about the spirit help being what matters eternally. Lyn and Greg are alright but today Lyn is having her right knee replaced. She would appreciate prayers for a good result and no infection. She will be in hospital for 2 or 3 days if all goes well.

Barb, welcome home. The picture was amazing to see. I was sorry the highway there is closed due to fallen trees. Yes, it takes time to get everything back to normal after a trip like that. And you are already babysitting!

Judith, how are things going for you? Today is the big move, right? I am thinking of you and praying all goes well.

Susan you have a nice place. I hope your new office chair is put together easily.
    Enjoy it too

Busy day with trying to catch up after being away 12 days. Our poor yard lots of leaves & all. We did get some rain but we are 8” now short for the year & none is in the forecast. Up & down temps too. Fun.

Prayers for those in the Appalachians. We were there but above where the damage is. Keep praying the videos are so bad.
Trump got Elon Mask to got Starlink dishes, so that their cells will work. So that is good. Keep praying.

Prayers for Judith so glad your place has started.

    Evening Hello Everyone,

I got checked into the Hotel later than planned. I shared in our Prayer Thread as all your prayers were answered regarding getting settled in Hotel. Few Bumps a long the way but God worked it all out to His Glory,

Susan, great pictures of your new furniture. Your home is beautiful. It is a job putting new furniture together. You did a wonderful job! Thanks for letting us know that Lyn is having her right knee replaced, will keep her in prayer.

Linda, your granddaughters are are very talented. They do lovely chalk art. Thank you for sharing.

Barb, welcome back home. Dear me MFP just signed me out right in the middle of a sentence to you, thankfully I only lost a little of what I typed. Your weather is really up and down, hope you get the rain you are needing.

Judith - so glad to hear that your transition was fairly smooth. Having a plant in your room will cheer it up. We all need some nature around us to keep us healthy as it cleans the air.

Susan - I find it very difficult to put furniture together. My brain does not see the items as it is pictured and I get frustrated. We had a campus boy come over last year to put together my desk. It was so nice to have it done and it gave the boy some extra cash for expenses. It was worth it to have it done with no frustration on our part and the boy said he loved to put things together so it worked for all of us. I will be praying for Lyn and her knee replacement. I may need one at some time but they are trying to fix the hip first to see if that helps the knee.

Barb - I hope you can get your house and yard in order with not too much work. I remember raking leaves from our huge maple tree as a child and jumping in it before we burnt the leaves. We lived on a farm so we could burn leaves with no problems. The smell of burning leaves is a favorite memory of Fall. We did use some of the leaves for mulch on our garden - specially to fill the trenches that had the cabbage and carrots that we stored for winter in the garden. The trenches were deep enough that the vegetables did not freeze but were kept fresh when we needed them.

Today is my sewing day. I have some mending to do and some other odd jobs repurposing things.

Linda, I am not good at putting g furniture together. The delivery men unpacked and built our new furniture except for my new office chair. I watched a video about how to snap in the wheels on the base and it was easy after that. Colin did tighten the screws of it when he got home!

Thank you for praying for Lyn. The surgery went well. Now she has to overcome the pain of recovery. I sure hope your hip surgery helps your knee. Enjoy your sewing day today.

Judith, I had a lot of help with the furniture but it is all in place now! I am so relieved you had no major hitches with your move. Did you sleep well at the hotel? Being a strange place, I thought it might be a hard first night but you would have been tired so maybe not.

Thank you for the new recipes in the recipe thread. I am tempted to try the pumpkin muffins and the sweet potato salad!

Barb, thank you for complimenting my place. It is light and airy. I like it here.

I sure hope there is more help for the people in the Appalachians. That's good to know they can communicate now thanks to the satellite dishes from Elon Musk.

    Good eve.
I got some more yard work done; & repotted a plant my mom gave me plus some bulbs my sister gave me.
Still lots to do yard work as we are in a severe drought & animals are eating my plants. I came home to my free Lowe’s mum is gone , only a Halle remains & one of my Hybrid roses, Mr Lincoln it’s a red rose got eaten too. It’s in a cage & some animal got the cage off & ate it. There is altos green so I know it is alive but sad to come home with those 2 missing. Plus our red maple tree that our son in law started from their tree. I think it’s so ry animals are eating plants.
I got some graduates & I’m hoping that will help.
We are in a severe drought & no rain in the forecast.

    Prayers for all.
Craft morning at church &we are making lap tie blankets. My first one. So we will see. I’ll find out who they are for tomorrow.

Linda did you get a lot of sewing watching 🦋 is keeping me busy. I will be watching her 3 days a week instead of 2. Plus the weeks I watch Evan or Blake it’s 4. It is fun somok just not good for making meals & getting lawn work done.

Susan did you get your chair together.?
    Prayers for all.

    Happy Rosh Hashanah Barb!

Hope you enjoy watching Mariposa! Sorry you lost so many of your plants while you were away

Susan, thanks for letting us know that Lyn came through her surgery. Will continue to keep her in prayer. So glad to hear you got your furniture put together. It looks so comfortable. I am sure you will enjoy! I have been so tired since I came to the Hotel, guess with all the packing and getting ready it tired me out.I slept earlier and now going back to bed. Appreciate your prayers.

Londa, how was your sewing day? Did you get all your mending and repurposing done you were hoping for. My grandmother and Mom had days like that, me I am not the sewer in the family.

Have a great day! I started posting on the threads on Thursday and now I am about to sign off and it’s now Friday morning at 12:33am. Be back in the morning or late afternoon. 🙏🤗

    Happy Rosh Hashana, Barb.

It's also World Cardmaking Day today. I spent last night scheduling 7 x hourly posts for my papercraftcentral page on Facebook as we have our son and 2yo granddaughter here on a surprise visit.

One of the new recliners is off its rocker and we'll have to get it repaired already
I don't think the guys who built it did a good job. 😒 We certainly haven't done anything rough with it and it's only two days old.

I did build my own desk chair and Colin made sure the screws were tight enough.

Lyn hasn't wanted to talk yet but I have been texting her in hospital.

Judith - I had a successful sewing day but still have a few more things I want to work on. I lost track of time and did not get to bed until 2am. Today I hope to get some more things done. I am praying that you can get your rest after all that activity of moving and packing. I think being in a different bed can also make it difficult to get good rest at first. Your flowers were so pretty on Facebook. I am glad you have a church and friends close by.

Susan - thanks for the update on Lyn. When doctors in the States do surgery, they put extra pain medication in the surgical wound before suturing it closed to help with post-operative pain the first 24 hours. After that time, the pain can get worse which can be frustrating. I am not sure if Australian doctors do the same thing. I pray for pain relief for both her and Colin. I am so glad that your son and granddaughter made a surprise visit to you. How long will they stay? I am sorry that your furniture is already having problems. I see that you and I have twin office chairs. Mine has a loud squeak in it when I move. I hope yours does not have that too. I got mine at a garage sale for a good price so I can not complain.

Barb - I am sorry that the animals are eating your plants. It's too bad they can not define what plants are OK to eat and those that are not. There was a huge group of Elk that were on our property when we were there a few weeks ago. My husband said they were eating the grass that was meant for our cattle. They did eat quite a lot but they need food also.

Susan, so sorry about your furniture having issues already, I hope you can get a replacement. Your computer office chair looks so nice, comfy too. Hope it is. I too am happy you got a surprise visit from your Granddaughter and Son. Enjoy your time. How long are they staying?

Linda, sounds like me when I read with losing track of time, I could almost see you sewing away and suddenly realize it’s 2 am and you are still up and sewing! That brought a smile to me.

Well all, this gal is so tired so calling it a night! 😴

Susan. So sorry about the chair. Prayers it can get fixed ok.
    Continue prayers for Colin.
    Linda
I hope you have a successful weekend getting whatever you need to be done
Continued prayers for Judith. Being in a strange bed can make for unrestful night.
Today I went to my prayer partner from church whose dh had a lace maker out in. I made some bread & I cut some flowers mums from my yard. She suggested Irish spring w the animals & moles. So I got a repellents for animals including moles, bubble gum & soap. Surely one will work.
I’m watering now. This watering since it’s fall
    Is OLD.
It’s fall & we got summer temps. Plus using a/c. At least we have the a/c.
Well I got to move the sprinkler again
    Have a blessed weekend
Monday’s the one year anniversary of the war. Pray for them.

Barb, I was praying for Israel this morning. Wow, a year of war already. I knew it was happening but didn't realise it had already been a year. Glad you have some ideas for your garden. The summer grasshoppers will be in mine soon. They are several inches long and voracious. They love my potted cirtrus trees. Thank you for praying for Colin. He is still having lots of back pain. We did submit a warranty claim for his chair while our son was here yesterday. Son slid under the chair to take photos of what is wrong and helped us fill out the warranty claim. He is a good son. He was only here for a couple of hours to have coffee and talk. It's always great to see him and pur 2yo granddaughter. She is a sweet one! Her Mom was working yesterday or would have come by too.

Judith, I tested out my new craft room chair yesterday msking cards as it was World Cardmaking Day. I waited till after our son and granddaughter had gone home and had a crafty day. Colin was happy to be laying down watching TV with the dogs so it was fine for me to craft. How was your birthday? Are you getting used to the hotel? I hope you are comfortable.

Linda, I get it, staying up till 2am to sew! I can do that sort of thing too. About Lyn, she is feeling lots of pain now but has her sense of humour back. They must do a similar thing with pain relief here as it is always a day or so after surgery that patients feel the pain. She isn't home from hospital yet but they were going to discuss allowing her to go home today. How amazing that we have the same chair! So far mine doesn't squeak!

We're off to church very soon so I will go post in other threads now. Have good days, everyone.

Happy Birthday Judith! 🎈🎊🍨🎂 I hope you feel very special today. You are very special for all of us! Were you able to celebrate with any special food? I assume you can have ice cream. That would be the way I would celebrate with maybe some syrup on the top. In my case I would gain several pounds from that so I will refrain and leave the food celebrations to you. Are you getting settled in? If you have forgotten to bring something, I hope someone is able to get a replacement for you. That is the thing that I am concerned with when we travel overseas. Things I need are not always available that I can get here at home.

Susan - I am glad that you son was able to help you fill out the warranty for the chair and take pictures. I am afraid I would not be able to get that low to take pictures if it were me.

Barb - I am also praying for Israel. Do you have any family living there? God promised to protect his people but there is also the evil influence in this world. I pray for safety and the end of this war soon.

Linda, Col and I struggle to get under furniture too. Son is actively working with his father-in-law as a builder so he is far more agile and he has a giving heart. He's a blessing.

We are organising the van today so we can go away for 10 days from tomorrow. I might have limited data while we are away. I will still check in here though.

    🎉🥳🎊🎈🎁🎂
Prayers for your place gets fixed quickly & good for you prayers you can sleep well.

Susan so neat that your son thought to get under he chair & take a picture. Prayers that you get the help with the warranty. Plus see a dear grand daughter makes it so much better.
Prayers for Colin so sorry for the pain & Lyn too. Glad her sense of humor is back.

Limda. Staying up to 2 I could not do that. I’m a morning person so I go to bed early like 10.

I’ve got a busy week. Watching grandkids 4 days plus Bible study, craft morning on Monday & still watering. So dry here. Oh well. So Susan is watering & may have grasshoppers we have a few small ones. I also have JOY group at our church JOY is just older youth. We have a lunch together once a month. I’m excited about that. I’ll have to make something for it.
I’ll also watch Evan on Wednesday and hat is 9 hours.
So I’ll try but I may not be able to report like I wish I could.

No relatives in Israel. Just keep, praying for Israel & it’s in the news.

I heard between starlink & Samaritan purse they got some generators & gave them to churches in the Appalachians to give out. Praying for the, too.
Now Florida will be hit again. Prayers
    Prayers for all.

The weather report looks like the next hurricane probably will not be inland as much but will hit Florida. The Administrative assistant for our school lives in that area so I pray that she will be safe. Many older people go to Florida (we call them "Snowbirds") to avoid the snow for the winter but with all the hurricanes, maybe dealing with snow would be easier for them. Snow can shut a person in their house but there is not the damage that the hurricanes cause. We will be leaving on Tuesday to go back to the Eastern slope to do some winterizing on our house and cut up the rest of the apples on our tree. I think we have enough applesauce and regular apples and this time we will peel and cut up the apples for apple pies. That takes longer than applesauce but it is so nice to have them all ready to take out of the freezer to make into pies.

We met together as a small group this Sunday for a short teaching and then had a potluck sandwich bar, chips, fruit, pickled beets and a birthday cake for one of our members 70th birthday.

Susan - where are you going for your 10 day trip this time? I pray Colin's back will be OK traveling.

Judith - I pray you are resting in your new quarters. We miss hearing from you.

Barb - It does sound like you are having a very busy week with all the babysitting as well as other activities. Are you rested up from all your travels?

    Hello Ladies

Sorry I didn’t make it here to post on my Birthday. It was a big day. God Blessed me so much. My daughter and family surprised me with having 4 of my friends join us to celebrate my day. I was showered with flowers from Family & Friends as well as several Gift Cards snd a Cheque, Lovely clothes, Dress Pants Sweater and lounging pants, Bath and Body Foaming Hand Soap in all the lovely scents I love. My daughter had a Balloon Bouquet made up for me and a lovely Birthday cake. I can’t eat but they brought me a super large Vanilla Bean Milkshake Smoothie topped with mega whipped cream and brought extra milk so I could thin it out and I drank it all. So delicious. God Blessed me so much.

The excitement made me so tired and my body mouth face and lips were so sore from all the
    activity and talking with everyone.

Thank you all for your Kindness and the Birthday Blessings and Greetings you have sent my way.

Love you all, my Prayers are with you all, praying for Israel 🇮🇱

My parents use to be snowbirds. They would take their car to VA then out the car in a train that took them to Orlando or so. Then drive to Palm harbor where their place was. They didn’t go down till November I believe.
My mom is going to text her friend to check on her.
Yes FL is to have 2 hurricanes a bit over a week apart.
I have the Canadian sister, Sandi on a plane now to visit her. So each time my mom had daughters visiting Florida had a hurricane.

Linda prayers for safety traveling back east.

Yes busy week for me. My son asked me to control🦋 house early so Hong Hong can rest I did that but cannot do that every time. I suggested booklets that doesn’t help.
    Keep
Praying. She only has 8 more weeks than a C-section.

Good morning. We're doing the final pack of the van now and I still need to do a few things. We're going to a place called Woodgate and it is raining off and on. All going well, we shall be there this afternoon. The boys are already excited.

Barb you sure are busy. I noticed I have baby grasshoppers last night. How do you lerp them from eating your plants? I have friends who go our with scissors and cut them in half but I cannot make myself do that. I am a big softy but I don't like them stripping my trees either. Wow, soon you will have a new baby in the family!

Judith, it warmed my heart to hear about your birthday celebrations! I am so glad you had a good day. What a blessing to have family and friends who love you and spoil you in thoughtful ways. 🥰

Linda, safe travels. We're both on the road at the same time! Colin is pushing through his pain today. We both had a disturbed night's sleep. Jasper needed to be taken out for a potty break at 3am and then Colin kicked the cupboard next to our bed in his sleep. He kicks hard when he is dreaming. I haven't heard him complaining about a broken foot this morning, thankfully!! But the sound of it was dramatic and got my heart pumping.

Lyn is now home and thanks you for your prayers!

I heard on the weather report that today is the average time for us to have had our first frost but we are still having very warm weather. It may not be until November before we get our first frost. We at a high of 82F (27.7C) today. The sky is very hazy from the smoke that is coming from forest fires to the West of us. We leave for the Denver area tomorrow after I have my appointment with the ENT.

Judith - I am so glad that you were able to celebrate with family and friends for your birthday. It sounds like you got some really nice presents and a delicious milkshake to enjoy.

Susan - I am glad that Colin did not hurt his foot too badly during the night. Traveling for short periods of time sounds good so you do not get too tired or in lots of pain. I am glad that Lyn is home to recover.

Barb - I am praying for Hong Hong to be able to breathe easier. Did the doctor have any ideas to how to help her? Did the soap help keep the deer away from your garden?

Barb exciting times are coming with the new baby on the way. I am praying for a safe delivery and for protection over both Mommy and Baby!

Susan, safe travels as you prepare to be on the road again. You made me cringe just reading about Colin hitting the cupboard/ OUCH that’s all I can say! Too bad Jasper had to go out for potty break; does Archie have to go they the night like his brother?

Linda, you are on the road same time as Susan, safe travels my friend. I read your prayer request update on Marilyn, will keep her in much prayer.

It’s late so this gal is heading to bed. Trying to sleep better but being in a hotel is a little hard. So much going on with the Reno’s and flood I am trying to wind down. Love you all and will be back tomorrow! God Bless you all! 🙏🤗

    Still dry & watering here.

Barb, grasshoppers are now attacking my garden. Google hasn't been much help. Maybe your Joy group can help. I hope Hong Kong gets relief soon. It sounds like baby is quite big. Hope your sister arrives soon too.

Judith, we arrived safely at the coastal town of Woodgate. We were held up on the highway by a serious accident but the delay didn't matter. We got set up just fine. Archie rarely gets up in the night unless he's sick. Last night we had a water leak through the hatch over our bed! We had left it open and it rained, so we were up closing the hatch and taking wet bedding off the bed. Jasper got wet too! Lol! No major problem especially when we think about that accident...no one was seriously hurt, we've been told, but a caravan was destroyed when a truck carrying a house clipped it, and several other cars collided with them. We saw the crumpled cars and caravan being trucked out of the accident zone.

Linda, summer sure is hanging on. May it cool down soon. Our hot weather is trying to start. Colin seems to not have foot pain, thankfully. Hope you travelled safely.

Our travels went fine. The weather was perfect and traffic was mostly light. There were a few times that there was some construction that slowed us a bit. When I got to our house, the girls had planned dinner and cooked it so I just had to sit down and eat. As I said I n the prayer thread, my ENT cleared me for surgery. I let the hip surgeon know but they have not called me back to let me know the date is still available. They were supposed to save the date so there should not be any problems.

Susan - I am so glad Colin did not have any injuries of his foot. I am also glad you were safe. It is so sad to see people be involved in accidents. It happens so quickly with just a wrong move of a vehicle.

Judith - I am praying you will sleep better even with the hotel bed. I know when we travel I am so glad to get back home to my comfortable bed.

Barb - praying for Hong Hong's pregnancy issues. Is this baby bigger than Mariposa was?

Susan, that was quite an accident but am thankful no one was seriously hurt. Sorry about the water leak over the hatch. So sorry you had to take off wet bedding and drying off poor Jasper! You sure had an eventful night, actually you don’t need that kind of excitement!

Linda, so glad your travels went well and traffic was light! So nice the girls had planned dinner for you and you didn’t have to prepare anything when you got home. Always nice to sit and eat a good meal someone else has cooked. I am rejoicing you have been cleared by your ENT for Hip Surgery. God is good! He has moved the mountains.

Barb, I am praying for Hong King’s pregnancy and praying she can get some good rest. Sounds like she is carrying a big baby. When my daughter was pregnant with Logan she had a long body pillow that helped her support her tummy and took the weight off her spine and over the front and it helped her to sleep better. I wonder if she would benefit from a pillow like that??

Here is the baby with 2 more months in ultrasound just taken yesterday. They say the baby is 2 lbs & 12 oz. The baby will be born at 36 weeks so will be a premier like Mariposa.
Just know she’s carrying her differently then ,adipose & so uterus up higher. . All I know. My dad Jean also pregnant says she’s heard of others having breathing problems when pregnant that interrupts one’s sleep.
    Thank you for the prayers.
I’m watching Evan. I’ll send a pic of him eating snack.
So 2 pics. One is ultracxigu1xsehrs.jpeg
& next Evan 23 months old tomorrow. A towhead.
    Prayers for Florida. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Oh my, Barb, Evan is a cutie! And the new baby photo is amazing!! I do hope Hong Kong can find some relief with her breathing. The baby isn't too big yet, though she will only get bigger the next two months. Sleeping on your back while pregnant causes blood flow and breathing issues, from memory? I hope Jean's pregnancy is going well.

Judith, so sorry about your sleeping issues. I agree with Linda, my bed at home is the best! The caravan bed is OK but I do sleep differently in it with more waking up. This morning Asthma woke me up coughing. Ugh. I hope you adjust to the hotel bed over time. I saw your birthday photos and videos on Facebook yesterday. What a treat it was to see you and your lovely family!

Linda, praise the Lord your ENT issues have we resolved and you ate cleared for surgery. I sure hope they kept that surgery date for you. Colin is now having pain in his knee replacement knee andbthrbshoulder they haven't yet operated on. He still has back pain so he is taking strong painkillers. He is still glad to be in the van, but I am wondering how long he can keep doing this travel he loves to do. I'm glad you got your your destination safely. What a nice welcome!

We had storms here last night but no more leaks. At home they had heavy hail that blanketed the ground and built up in drifts. The rain and hail broke through shopping centre rooves and caused flash flooding. I am wondering if my garden was damaged but will have to wait and see. My pot plants are minor compared to other's property damage.

I am praying for Florida too.

Susan, storms can be hard, right now I like one as we have not had any rain in months. They had maybe 1.5-2” while we were away one day. Other than that we’ve had nothing. We are about 8”:short for the year.
In God’s time. Prayers & for Colin too.

    Linda. Keeping your ENT issues.

Good night all, I am tired up at 5:40 this morning.
Tomorrow I will go to my first & the church first Joy group. It’s for just older youth lunch. I’m making a 7 layered salad.

Prayers for Florida. It’s looking bad 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

We are working on apples today. There are a lot on the ground that we are doing first then will tackle the tree. The apples on the tree are not as ripe as the ones on the ground. I peeled and sliced enough apples to make 6 pies. We had a lot of wind and a little rain today. It is nothing compared to what Florida is getting. It is spawning tornadoes on the ground.

Judith - Your Facebook post looks like it was a very fun birthday party you had will family and friends. I hope it did not tire you out too much.

Susan - I am glad that you have a washer in your caravan to wash the wet sheets. That must have been quite a surprise to have the leak. I hope you had a quieter sleep last night and the dogs were also able to sleep through the night. Being wakened with asthma can be scary. I hope you breathe easier tonight.
