It is a cold and humid day today. We had rain during the night and misting during the day. We are not accustomed to humidity so when it is high it feels so much colder than most people would think when they have high humidity all the time. The water is so much needed for the plants so I am not complaining. I got 4 inches cut off my hair today. It was getting too long and pulling out the curl in it. It is not tightly curled not but it has it waves back.

Susan - having the cut on my thumb will not affect my surgery unless it gets infected. I doubt that it will but maybe I should put the antibiotic ointment that I have to put in my nasal cavities on my thumb also. The ointment is to get rid of any colony of MRSA that I may have in my nose. Healthcare workers who work with patients who have MRSA can get the bacteria in their noses. Their immune system can fight it so there are not symptoms but they can spread it to others or if they become immune compromised, they could develop symptoms. I am glad that you are home safely and that your plants did not get injured from the hail. Happy anniversary to you and Colin! 🎊🍰(gluten free)

Judith - I hope they get your ramp assembled again and get other things fixed like your computer desk. I will be so nice when everything is in it's place and nicely clean.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. For some reason my brain is telling me that today should be Saturday (Yes, I know it is correct for you Susan) but it is not for us. I need to go exercise and safely cut up some more apples. Talk to you tomorrow.

Linda, glad your thumb is unlikely to affect your surgery. The Drs here postponed knee replacement surgery for two of my friends recently because each man had a pimple on their affected leg! They weren't even open wounds. That's why I was concerned for you. Lol about it feeling like Saturday there. It's already Sunday here so maybe it really is Saturday there now. I hope you can get the apples done without any more problems for your hands.

I am thinking I might stay home from church today as I still have a cough. There are quite a few battling cancer at church and they are immune compromised. I don't know if I am still contagious so it might be best to not expose anyone. I can feel myself getting better so by next week I should be fine to return.

Laundry is done, dinner rolls are raising, apple slices are drying in the dehydrator, my dresser that I brough back from Denver that had stickers all over it is now clean, and I have things out to make the salad that I am taking to the pot luck tomorrow so I feel like a have accomplished quite a lot. We also went out with friends to Cross Orchard which is a farm museum of all the things from the late 1800's and afterward we went to lunch with our friends. Some of the things we saw I remember using that my Grandma had like sad irons that were heated on the stove to do the ironing. I did not know where it got it's name so I asked Google. They said that the word "sad" is an obsolete word from the mid-18th century that meant "weighty". I do remember that it was very heavy. I had a small one that was not so heavy to use. While we were there we also saw how they made cider from the orchards. It was all hand cranked and tasted delicious. We took our apples to the cider press but we did not get to see how it was done.

Susan - it is probably good that you stayed home today with having immunosuppressed at your church. Do they have the sermon online so you could watch it? I do hope that you continue to feel better each day and can attend next week.

Barb and Judith - hope you are doing OK and doing what makes you happy. That's what I did today.

Eli only went to school for half a day as they had parent teacher conferences. Then no school Friday due to conferences.
We’ve not heard so I assume no news is good news.
Kaelyn, sister did have strep, with no problems. Eli has always had more asthma problems then Kaelyn.
Yes, so dry may get rain Monday night the one & only day for month of October. September usually a very wet month we didn’t get much rain either maybe 3 or 4 days. Mondays may. It might not be much rain either.

Susan hope all goes well with your stamp classes. Also prayers for Colin too.

Linda is it November 22 or October 22 for your surgery. I’m thinking it’s November. Prayers.

Just heard today that Harry’s cousins husband died yesterday. He may have had a massive heart attack Friday. . His cousin died Covid year.
So many dying. So I guess we are the old folks. Scary.
My mom did get to go, too, my cousin’s wife service today. She was glad to see her nephews. She got some pics so, it was nice to see my cousins that I haven’t see in 30 years or more.

Judith prayers as you get your belongings where you need them. Take your time. I hope you have help. I know I believe your daughter was going to help.

Take care. Prayers for all& Marilyn too. 🙏🏻

    Hello everyone

Yes a lot of work, some issues have been resolved but no ramp and seems no one is owning up to who took it out left in rain, also paint has ruined material vertical blinds in living room! Paint over patio and tarp. My insurance is working on that. But Praise God new electrical panel switches new light fixtures and all new closet doors and bedroom door and new locks. So a lot of positives. I need the ramp for a safe exit as patio door is my only other exit should my front door be blocked.

    Thanks for praying! 🙏❤️

We had a good potluck at church today. It was soup and salad and breads. I made 4 dozen diner rolls and a bean salad. There were a few more salads but there were 7 soups - all different kinds. I guess as a potluck, we did well since no one was assigned what to bring. The soups were all different but I got too full before trying all of them. I am trying to get things all in order so when I can not do much, Glenn is not needing to do his work as well as mine. We will be leaving tomorrow afternoon to stay all night so we do not have to drive on the surgical day. There is a canyon we have to travel through that occasionally gets closed due to accidents or rock slides. I do not want to drive to Vail on Tuesday and then get stuck in the canyon and miss the surgery and have to wait until January.

Judith - I am sorry that your living room blinds were hurt by the paint and that your ramp is not in place. That must be very frustrating for you. I am glad that you can still stay positive in spite of it all. You are the most positive person I have met in a long time. You encourage me to look for the good and have faith in spite of circumstances.

Susan - I pray that your cold is better and Colin is having less pain.

Barb - Good news about Eli and his sister feeling better. Yes, I feel like there have been a lot of deaths lately as we get older. As I age, it just makes me want to leave this old body behind and go on to glory! To answer your question - as you read earlier in my post, my surgery is in two days - on Tuesday. I have to be at the hospital at 9:30am but I do not have the exact time that my surgery will be. By evening, I will be home and recovering. Physical therapy starts in Thursday to keep me flexible. All your prayers are appreciated.

Linda the potluck sounds very good.
Prayers as you travel & for your surgery. Prayers for drs too. So glad you come home hat day too. Tuesday you will be in of our thoughts & prayers. Prayers for healing goes smoothly for you. Will you get meals from church people or family ? 🙏🏻

Susan. Praying for your asthma & bronchitis. I hope it is all pretty much back to normal for you.

Judith. So sorry no ramp & paint on your blinds. Prayers it all can fixed quickly for you. So glad you got some positives. Prayers

Our church has a fall fest next weekend, with chili and booths like bounces. Great for neighbors & a chance to get them interested in our church. We plan on going to see Eli & family in Branson, so we will miss it. Though we have a funeral that we do not know when it is. I’m hoping it’s not this weekend so we can go.
Oh I’ll be watching Blake so I’ll be gone all day tomorrow.

    Have a good week.

Just doing last minute things before we leave for Vail. We have a friend who lives higher up in the mountains and she said that they had snow last night but the roads are OK. The roads are still warm from our warmer weather so the snow melts quickly. Even in the winter time, snow does not stay on long because of our dry climate. It evaporates off of the black pavement quickly once the snow stop. On the grass it may stay on longer.

I have been having thoughts this morning about the surgery that I am sure is coming from Satan. Things like the surgery will not go well, etc. I have been meditating on Psalm 91:14-16. I am claiming this as His promise to me. "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." (Of course I change the gender of this promise.)

I so appreciate your prayers! I pray for all of you too.

Linda: your potluck dinner at the Church sounded so delicious: I always loved chilli and any kind of bean salad. I have made Beef Chilli and Turkey chilli over the years, I am partial to the Beef chilli but the Turkey one is good too. Sounds like you are getting everything in order before surgery so Glen won’t have to do as much after while you are recovering. Good idea you are travelling the night before so you don’t have to find yourself delayed in traffic and or weather issues as you travel over the mountain. It’s good you live in a dry climate so even when it does snow it doesn’t stay long. Yes as you shared God is greater than any negative thoughts the evil one would try and put on you. Yes because God Loves you He will put a hedge of protection around you and will always be by your side. God’s Love ❤️ is
Greater! I will be holding you up in much prayer on Tuesday Linda. 🙏❤️

Barb: hope you enjoy your Fall Fest and enjoy the Chilli and all the other Food that is provided. What activities does your Church have besides all the scrumptious food? It’s wonderful this Fall Festival can be an outreach to your neighbours in the community. It’s a great way to present the Gospel, the Love of Jesus to those who come to see what the Festival is all about. Our Church had these types of events and had opportunity to win several families to Jesus. It’s exciting winning souls to the Kingdom of God. Will be praying for all the members of your church next weekend as they all Shine for Jesus touching lives for the Kingdom! Sorry you will miss it but know your heart will be with them all. So happy you will see Eli and family this coming weekend. Safe travels!

Susan and Colin, prayers are with you both.

Have a Blessed Day all! I am here early again as with all the unpacking to do I am resting a lot in between so coming here early and want to stay connected with you all! Love and Hugs! ❤️🙏🤗

    I thought I posted this yesterday hut I didn't!

Linda, it will be about 2 or 3am Wednesday here that you go in for surgery. I'll remember you in prayer before I sleep and when I wake. I'm glad you are so organised! Your work is significant and I hope you also have the help you need when surgery is over. Will someone come to your house to help you be mobile later in the week, like a physio or nurse? I understand those negative thoughts. All surgery is a risk and you being a nurse probably know too much! Praying for you to allow the Lord to banish those thoughts and trust Him no matter what. Hugs.

Judith, I sure hope someone concentrates on getting your ramp back in place right away. Those things are not cheap and have to be customised to your particular place! I'm sorry to hear about the damage to other furnishings too. I'm thankful for your insurance company! The wheels turn so slowly at times though. I'm thankful for your attitude and faith.

Barb, oh no, another funeral. I hope the timing of everything works out for you. Your church function sounds like fun and the Lord can use it to call some souls home to Him. Glad you will see Eli and family soon. I would want to see him too, since he was so sick. How did things go with your cousin's wife's funeral?

I have a cough still but each day am a little better. Today I have a card class to run then house guests arriving in the evening. They will stay the rest of the week. They live in the country and have to come to the Big Smoke for medical checks.

Busy day with Blake for 9 hours & no naps. I’m tired.
Bible study tomorrow. The watching 🦋.
Hoping to see Eli & family this weekend so no fall fest for us. Praying funeral not be this weekend. Guess cousins wife funeral we took. I did not go it was in Pennsylvania & I live in Kansas. Quite a distance.
I may try to call my cousin every 2-3 weeks
It’s so dry here that there are big cracks in the ground. I was showing Blake them.
It only rained in September the weekend we left for Pennsylvania. So only 2-3 days of rain & nothing since then. The grass here is brown. We are in severe drought & each day it gets worse.

Susan praying for your asthma & bronchitis.

Judith I hope your ramp is in soon & everything gets ours back to normal, even the paint on the blinds can come off somehow.
    Praying.

By now Linda toy will be in surgery or finished it. I am praying for you, my friend. Hugs. 🙏🩷

Barb, I do hope your cousin's heard the gospel at thr funeral. You keeping in touch will allow your cousin to talk about salvation, if he wishes. Praying thr next funeral also gives thr gospel message. Enjoy your day with Mariposa.

Judith, are you eating the elephant of your renovation disruption, bite by bite? I hope you only spend a few spoons each day, getting things right. It will gradually happen over time. Hugs for you, too. And prayers!

Our friends couldn't come and stay after all. They got colds on their day of travel and don't want to expose us to them. They are staying in a Motel instead. I am sad but appreciative at the same time.

Yesterday's card class was fun, with lots of laughs. We made cards like these:

    fpicvph8acfq.jpg

    hm7lbh7sb8bs.jpg

They liked the designs. I had also made them table favours that could be adapted for Christmas. I need to make more for the next class on the 31st. Each has a small chocolate in the triangular base:

Linda. Prayers for recovery now. Many prayers that is.

I had a fun afternoon with Mariposa. She laid down but no nap. Oh well she is smart. She had an Eagle short on & knows it’s football Philadelphia football team. She has a dodger player that’s her favorite. Etc. her dad watches sports with her.

Prayers for your place Judith & health issues plus any others

So my husband cousin’s husband funeral is after our trip, to Branson.😊
So we will see Eli this weekend!. We may get home Monday to look at leaves since so close
    to, Arkansas.

    Prayers for all. 🙏🏻.

Linda, I am rejoicing with you that your surgery went well and you are back home. Praise the Lord! God is Good. I agree with Barb and Susan that you recover better in your own surroundings and sleep better in your own bed. My Prayers continue as you recover. ❤️🙏

Last night I was times out couple of times so didn’t reply to Susan and Barb’s post with what I wanted to say but just shared about Linda’s surgery so will now respond to Susan and Barb.

Susan, your cards you made and shared pictures of are so beautiful, I loved everyone! You are giving me an incentive to start my Christmas cards for my family. I will need to get unpacked first and settled then I will start my cards. I am praying for Colin that pain will cease in Jesus Name and you will continue to heal from the asthma and bronchitis.

Barb, you had quite a long day with looking after Blake. How did today go as I think you were watching Mariposa? I am sure you had a blessed day as Grandkids are such a blessing.

The contractor came and he is measuring the area and will build a new ramp inside and outdoors. He is looking after the vertical blinds that have paints on them and the paint on the tarp and patio area. He is also fixing the gate and fence. So things are in the works of being resolved. It’s going to take a while yet.

Tomorrow and Friday I am back to VGH for procedures with Surgeon and Friday at Cancer
clinic with my Oncologist. Will keep you posted!

Thanks for your prayers. God Bless you all! 🤗❤️ 🙏

Judith. Praying for your& wisdom for doctors.

Watching went ok with 🦋. She is not taking a nap. I think they don’t get her up early enough. Though our ddil Hong Hong doesn’t sleep good so she sleeps in if she can. (I am a morning person not Hong Hong).
She has diabetes in her family & her sugar was high so on Monday when she sees the doctor they will check her out again. She’s got 6 more weeks to go. She cannot lift Mariposa due to her 2 ectopic pregnancies. So maybe that is why. I know she does a lot of school & enjoys taking Mariposa to the playground. As Mariposa is bilingual. English & Cantonese.
We leave for Branson tomorrow to see James, son & especially Eli & family.

We had a new electric pole today so no power from 10-2 today. Back in 2018 lightning hit it & the pole was on fire. The electric company put metal so it. Today it got fixed. With no rain their trucks really tore up, our ground. Looks like, it was aerated by a truck. We did put some grass seed down & hope we get the rain tonight.

Or payers for Susan & Linda with her healing from surgery.
    Many prayers.
I’m including pics of the truck tracks & you can see the missing grass. Oh well

Judith, I think we are posting at the same time 😃 Thank you for your prayers. I am really glad the contractor is taking care of your ramps and curtains. I hope you are all unpacked soon and have the sanctuary of home restored. I'll be praying about your upcoming medical appointments. Won't it be nice to be crafting again! I made a card today in fact:

Barb, thank you for praying. Your yard sure was cut up. I'm glad the pole can't catch on fire anymore. Maripsosa will be glad of having two languages, I am sure! I hope her mother is breathing easier these days? Enjoy your visit with Eli. Oh, I bought some gauze nets for my citrus trees to stop the grasshoppers. It's working! Even this little guy can't get to the leaves:

Susan, love your cards you have made. And yes it will be nice crafting again. Good idea putting the gauze netting over your citrus trees. Thanks for your kindness and prayers regarding my settling
into my home and for all my appointments. I continue to keep you in prayer that your asthma and bronchitis that you will be completely healed and restored. Praying for Colin and hoping he is in less pain today!

Linda I continue to pray for you as you recover from your surgery.

Tomorrow I have another long appointment with my Oncologist, there might me further treatment changes. Today my surgeon wasn’t able to do the procedures as he wants my Oncologist to see what is going on with leaving all the diseased tissue on face and lips. He gave me another appointment this time at his Private Practice and not Hospital Clinic.

Thanks all for your Love and Support. And of course I am here for you all! 🙏😇❤️🤗

Yes, the gauze bags on my trees should help. The Giant Grasshoppers are voracious. I found a picture of one in a man's hand online to show you. My little trees get stripped by them.

Susan, thank you for your prayers especially this week. I had heavy duty appointments back to back Thursday and Friday. Today I saw my Oncologist and I am back on the Chemo ointment until January when I am seen by Specialist regarding rare disease and whether they do laser surgery! Would appreciate prayers for wisdom and guidance.

The picture of that Giant Grasshopper is so amazing. Can’t get my head around the size. I can understand now how your trees get stripped.

Good morning! Each day gets a little better and easier. I did not need to take any pain pills during the day but did take some Tylenol and a muscle relaxer just a few minutes ago. I had my usual fever today (I have them with each of my labors and with the surgeries) but it is fine now. I am having more soreness than pain and have been so tired. I have not forgotten you all. I have lots of time to pray for you as I sit in my recliner.

It was so good to see your post, Linda! I'm glad you are comfortable enough and the post Op fever is gone. What a good thing, to be praying much from your recliner. I'll keep praying your healing happens just as the Lord intends.

Barb, glad you had safe travels to Eli's family. It is a relief to hear that he looks so well! Lol about the grasshoppers reminding ypu of the Egyptian plagues. Ours come for three summer every year. I don't know why I didn't think of using gauze bags on my trees before.

Judith, your week ahead sounds very challenging. I'm glad you are strong in faith. I'll keepnpraying for you, dear sister. You are welcome for the grasshoppers photo. I thought it might help everyone understand what my poor trees are up against. They even chew down the new growth on twigs.

It's Sunday here so we are off to church. Take care, all of you.

Barb, so happy to hear Eli is looking so well. Glad you had a safe trip to Branson and you are enjoying being with your family. I did smile when I read that seeing the pictures of the Grasshopper made you think of the plagues. Not sure why I hadn’t thought of that but for sure I was so taken back with the size of the Grasshopper Susan was sharing nothing else came to my mind, that’s for sure. Enjoy the remainder of your time with your family my friend.

Linda, so happy to see you on here and you are comfortable enough and your fever is gone. My prayers continue for a speedy recovery and healing. Thank you for your prayers for us. You are so kind and considerate of all of us especially you just have had surgery and recovering. I can understand you being tired, any surgery and the fact you had anesthesia that alone does make you tired. Glad you have a comfy recliner to sit and lay in to stay as comfortable as possible.

Susan, thank you for your kindness and acknowledging the past 2 days of appointments and next weeks appointments. I admit they are tiring but thank God for His Grace Strength and Peace. I’m so sorry to hear you are still dealing with the cough. You said it’s Sunday there and you are thinking you will stay home. Hope you can watch your Service online. My Prayers are with you Susan that you will be restored and the cough be gone in Jesus Name. Of course I continue to pray for Colin.

Here is an Update for you all:

When I saw my Derma-Oncologist yesterday he examined my face and lips and saw that last treatment was not successful so he has put me back on the Chemotherapy Type Ointment that I am to use until I see the specialist in January regarding Laser Surgery to remove the first layer of skin and all the diseased tissue. New Skin and Tissue is supposed to grow back as my face heals. It hasn’t been approved yet but now 3 of my Specialist have said they thought Laser would help, it’s the Doctor in January I see who will put the order in if he deems the Laser surgery is necessary! Will keep you posted.

    Love you all! ❤️🙏🤗

Good morning! It is a good morning for me. I finally got a good night's rest. I gave up on sleeping in the recliner. The foot rest hits my heel at an angle that makes my tendon really sore. I was concerned that I might get a pressure ulcer in that area since it was so sore. Although I did not have my ice machine when I slept on the couch, the good rest I got that will help with the healing was much more important to me. I will use the ice machine during the day as I am sitting up. My leg is still quite swollen so I do need the icing.

Barb I am so glad that you are able to visit your family in Branson. the grandkids grow up so quickly and soon they will be on their way doing "their own" thing. My high school grandkids are not around much anymore because they are with their friends.

Judith - I am sorry you have to go back on the chemo ointment. I remember you said that it was very painful to use and had a lot of possible side effects that were not good. January seems like a long time to wait for the Laser therapy but will be worth it if it works.

Susan - I am glad your cough is better and you are able to go to church. The grasshopper picture was amazing. At first glance I thought it was you holding it and I was surprised that you would do that. Then I read that it was a picture you had gotten to show us. I could see how they can do so much damage to all your plants. Do you eat your flowering plants?
