There are not a lot of things that I do not like the taste of but along withhorrible tasking cancy canes I do not like the taste of the appitizer of stuffed dates. Have you ever tasted them? Do you like the "date" flavor?

Sorry Susan I don’t have a Date as yet! And Linda, I like the flavor of a Date but never had stuffed Dates, somehow does not sound appetizing to me! I would not want to be Tied to eating a Stuffed Date!

I know people put almonds or other chocolate cream fillings or cream cheese in dates. I cannot eat dried fruit so would not try the dates, but some flavour combinations are quite good. I will bide my time and see what Linda found in the dates.

They are stuffed with the things that Susan mentioned as well as meats (bacon) and one recipe said to include dried rose petals. Some of those stuffings sound good except rose petals but I would take the suffing out and "hide" the date in my napkin to throw away when no one is watching.

Hiring someone to discretely get rid of my dates might be a bit expensive. If I try to throw them away myself and have a very strong arm, do I need to yell "fore" like the golfers do to let people know there is something coming their way?

I have never made stuffed dates or any other stuffed dry fruit. Do I need to "bore" a hole in it to fill it or slice it with a sharp knife and stuff it that way?

The dates have a natural pocket core when you remove the pit, Linda, and if the filling you add is a little sticky, the date will close around it and hold together.

Mr. Green Jeans was hoping we would like the Stuffed Dates as he has an Acre of Land with Dates, and he said we were welcome to have as many dates as we would like!

Glad you liked the information! You can certainly stick to bare dates without any stuffing. One of my favourite things that my mother would make when I was a child were date bars from our Betty Crocker cookbook. If I could still eat dates, I would make some. Yum! I'm afraid you girls will have to take Mr Green Jeans' fresh dates. Is that alright?

I did not know that the hares liked dates. I assume that they do not climb up the trees to harvest the dates so they much be pretty ripe when they eat them off the ground. Have you invited the "mares" to come help the hares pick the dates? The hares could stand on the mares backs to reach the dates. I am sure the hares would share with the mares.

We all did things with no cares when we were young but as I have aged, I am more careful about my behaviors. I used to like ivory jewlery but since I learned that it was made from the "tusk" of elephants, I no longer want to support those who kill the elephants for this jewlery.

I hear you both Susan and Linda, I too loved Ivory Jewellery but when I found out Elephants were being killed for selling the jewellery. I remember being in shock and shed a few tears as I loved elephants and it almost made me sick yo my stomach the thoughts of elephants being hunted down and killed to take their tusks, so sad 😭 and shameful! I still don’t like it…I would rather give the elephant’s head a pat and a scratch under his chin and Tuck him in for a good night sleep beside his mate…😆

That would be a pretty big bed in your house if an elephant stayed over night but that is a sweet idea to pat it's head, scratch under his chin and tuck him in for the night. With any "luck" he would have sweet dreams and become your adoring pet for all the kindness you have shown him.
