Yes Susan our minds can be a sieve and yes Linda my Grandpa had several Vises on his workbench to hold things together. Maybe it could work hanging onto our memories. Maybe we will have to check the Sizes of our Memories and decide how we can hang onto our memories.

Different techniques called mnemonics can help people remember stories, lists etc? The Greeks and Romans used to use them. They provide good fixes for more!

I have tried various memory tricks and mnemonics is a good one. If I use all the tricks I can, maybe I can cover all my "bases" and be successful in memory work.

yes Susan “lime crystal vases” is a new one for me, and Linda yes it’s good to cover all bases to help us remember. This a real life scenario and to this day I never knew how she could remember that way. When someone told her to remember she would take a ring off one of her fingers from right hand and put it on her left hand. She would look at that ring on opposite hand and tell be what she was supposed to do. So Bizarre! Think we have to come up with a better plan. Maybe we can line the edge of the driveway with SABER Swords? wonder if that would help us remember why the SABER Swords are there? 😳😆

I don't know if changing fingers for my ring would help. I would just say I guess I need to remember something but not remember what it was. 😁Having saber swords along the driveway would certainly get my sober attention. Sometimes I have so many things on my mind that I am distracted. If someone "bares" their mind of distractions, they can remember things better also.

Linda, I still Lol when I remember Beth removing a ring from one finger to another and actually remembered, too funny, yes if someone Bares their mind of distractions they can remember things better. So having all the Cares of the world on one’s mind does bring distractions.

Changing ring fingers while thinking of something to remember would engage the sense of feeling. The more senses you engage around remembering something (sight, sound, smell, touch/physical action, thought) the better you will remember. Even reading things out loud helps better than reading silently (you are engaging sound, physical action, thought and sight when you read out loud). No one dares say this in company, usually, so we lose the knowledge.

I wonder if stickers would help us remember. Each time we remembered an important thing we cold put a sticker of "hares" on our tablet. That would include sight of the cute bunnies to celebrate our memory victory.

I did answer this thread yesterday but it looks like I forgot to post it or Judith you would not have had to do three words. I'm sorry I can not remember what word I had chosen. I have not heard from the heirs of the people who hire to make the necklaces. Do you personally know the shire? Maybe he lives close to the "shore".

Looking at stars is very impressive especially if you try to count them. With the cloudy sky we have had lately, the sky is rather "stark" in appearance with only an occasional star peeking through the clouds.

Yes I hear you Linda about the constrast of cloudy skies and the sky being rather Stark of seeing any Stars in the sky. Our skies have been grey some days almost black.well One Day we as Christians get to Start our Lives over in the New Life Jesus gives us when we go home to Heaven to be with Jesus and we will see the Stars sparkling in the skies of Glory!
