Tuesday Empress Weigh-In

I feel like this loss has more sticking power than my previous big week-to-week drops since June. Meals have been good, walks have been consistent. I'm lagging a little on sleep this week (a little slower to get up with that alarm!) but work should be a lot calmer by this time next week. Nice to see a drop from yesterday too, since my lunch Sunday was a big one with family. Scale was technically lower on Friday but close.
My next test is this weekend - got invited to a Halloween party Friday night and planning to go the the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday. I haven't been yet since I moved to Boston, so I'm very excited. And I have 1 friend doing keto and not drinking, so that will be a good influence to not go overboard. But I'm sure the party Friday will have hard-to-resist candy. Send me strength!8 -

Today has been good. Beautiful weather. 15 minutes of Pilates. Boy it feels so good at the start of the day. Took a walk with the little one to look at decorations. Crossed things off my list. Saved $10 at Aldi. Making dinner at my daughters so we don’t have to do dishes. Lol
I did find these well priced snacks at Aldi. They were $2.49 for 3 packs. They have cheese, nuts and dried fruit. They are 180 calories. Not something I would need all the time, but for those times when I haven’t planned well and feel famished. Quick, healthy and good protein to eat before grabbing all the other things.5 -

What a lovely day - anniversary news, parties, imperial weight losses (wow!!), and always grace over guilt. I will never be able to thank @micki48 enough for introducing me to Robin Long and the daily practice of Pilates. It has made me feel invincible!! And never bad if I miss a few days
I have to pack tonight. I doubt I'll be killing it on the steps and exercise until I get there and start walking my dad's dog all over the place. I have not been to my home town since January 2020 - I love taking walks past our old house, all around the little roads where friends lived, and then on Saturday I'll be at my 50th high school reunion! How the heck did we get that old???

I finally dusted off my dumbbells today for the first time since the spring. I managed to get myself a new kettlebell too so I feel energized and happy I did my workout this afternoon. It's now 4 hours later and I'm already stiffening up a bit... Oops! Hope that doesn't last too long, I have physio tomorrow afternoon for my hip and if my muscles are tight everywhere, it might confuse the issue.
The scale hasn't been friendly this week so I'm just going to keep drinking water for the rest of the evening and pray for a miracle. 😉

@DD265 that sucks your utilities can just throw you for a loop like that. I think a change to our electricity supplier would really affect me. I largely based my decision to live in the province that I do on the cost of utilities and related taxes and expenses. If utilities providers in mine and the neighbouring province were the same, I can't say 100% that I would live where I do. It's a big deal! No fun you have to deal with that but good for you to be your organized self and be proactive with your budget.

@micki48 I like snacks like that - well priced, yummy and good in a pinch. I would love to take a wander in a US grocery store (or the UK!!!) .. I always find that fun when I'm travelling

I've been AWOL for a few days, loved catching up on your posts - mice (here too), halloween candy hell challenges>:) (here too), and happy anniversaries. @jugar have fun at the reunion (50 such round number, eh?). @DD265 with a jump in electricity cost, it's maybe not so inspiring to use the slow cooker all day, sheesh - hope your pork stew came out delicious and that Riverdance was fabulous - lots of energy in that show!
@Kali225 what a loss! great job and you have been a dedicated walker that's for sure. Have you ever walked Castle Island - my ex and I used to walk the big loop there, sometimes twice - I love how well that park is used by such a variety of people - and normally I like nature walks in the woods with no one near - but I liked the energy at Castle Island. Enjoy the Head of the Charles - looks like you've got some awesome weather for the day.
I had to recharge my fitbit yesterday - had never paused long enough after plugging it in - to see that it says, "ahhhhh' after plugging it in, HA HA, I like details like that. That's how I feel when I go to bed.4 -

I did not make a wise a dinner choice. 🤷♀️ Mabel has a bad case of hand foot and mouth. She is NOT sleeping. My mom has been watching her the past few days and I will stay home Thurs and Fri with her. I am looking forward to some rest!6 -
@eggfreak I haven't been to Castle Island although I had written it down when I first moved - maybe this Sunday to help recover from the candy Friday! Big fan of a walking loop.
What kind of fitbit do you have? I have the Charge 4 and I don't think mine does the "ahhh" hahaha but it does show a smiley face when done charging.

Could I get a pass this week? On vacation and had a flairup on my shoulder injury, needless to say it probably hasn't been a good week 😅6

Weigh in this morning did not respond to the water and prayers so I'm going to see if it just deferred the miracle for a day and report in tomorrow instead. 😉 You never know!! 🤷🏼♀️

@PlaneMonkey I think the whole week is moody at work! Tuesday we had a fire drill and a miss-communication with the fire department. The biggest fire truck I have ever seen showed up. Needless to say minds were lost and everything was pretty wild after that. Our building is trying to shift our programs again after our original set up failed miserably and about 5 children and several adults were bitten this week. I might be planning a mental health day off here very soon 🙃
@KellyBgetsfit Hand foot and mouth is the worst! I hope she starts to feel better soon and you get some rest.

Today I tried on a pair of jeans that didn't fit in September, but today they just slipped on and buttoned up! My scale hasn't really gone down and it was a good reminder that the scale really doesn't tell the whole story. Today is a bit crazy at work but with fun moments sprinkled in. I got to help my high school kids make smores. I also have my fun Halloween sensory bin set up for the kids today too. I'm just hanging out in my car on my lunch break because it helps to leave the building for a while. My in laws are picking up dinner tonight so I don't have to cook Woo-hoo!5 -

Together, the eight of us walked a total of 654,365 steps this week – 310 miles. The eight of us basically did 100 5K races in the week. Way to go to everyone for the effort this week. Keep it up and challenge yourself to find an area to work on this week.4 -

I woke up with what turned out to be a sciatica flare up. I did 16 minutes of Pilates, went to a store, and took a short walk, but it has gotten so bad since late afternoon. I am in some kind of pain. Thankfully engaging my core muscles helps along with doing some of the Pilates exercises I have learned. I am so close to my daily goal, but don’t think I’ll make it. Oh well. I am currently laying on the floor waiting for anti-inflammatory to kick in. Ugh.

@Kali225 i do The Balanced Life Pilates with Robin Long. She has some free videos on YouTube. I subscribe and have access to a full library, recipes, etc. Its a wonderful thing. I feel stronger than ever, at least in my abs.

Exercise 10/20 - 20 minutes Peloton and 7946 steps
I have been setting my alarm for 5:30 (eek!) to ride the Peloton before work this week. Today's ride felt mega hard and I sure got my sweat on. We are absolutely loving the bike.. I find the classes are so much fun. Definitely look forward to it.5 -

@ashleycarole86 I'm reading your post about getting up early to exercise as I lounge in bed, having slept in so I'll have enough energy to stay up late and watch the social event from my virtual symposium.... It's going to be a drag show! Should be fun! (I'm sure that peloton class is fun too)
My physio beat me up yesterday and along with doing my workout for the first time in months on Tuesday, my quads are just burning! Almost to the point where you need to hold on to something to get back up off the toilet. 😂🤣😂
