I've had a hard time with my eating the last couple of days - complete abandon as I dive in to whatever sweets I can lay my hands on - I think the sugar affected my heart rate and my sleeping. Today, Sunday, I am NOT going to let the binge happen - must just start on the project list and pretend it's an office day (when it comes to eating) - I had enough yesterday for a whole month, if not two!3

You have not been alone these past two days! My son brought ice cream into the house on Friday, and it is now gone, I'm sad and happy to say. Luckily it was just a small container, but I ate the whole thing. Other excess eating happened as well, and today is the perfect day. Again. We can do this!3 -

What a nice surprise, it’s 66 degrees outside with low humidity. It finally feels like fall and the windows are open! I love the fresh air, though it won’t last long, we’re back in the 80s tomorrow.5

Inspired by Team Trimstones, I have put in a new challenge for week 3 to find inspiration and interesting answers from our fellow F2F members. Check it out, and answer some questions!

Not a problem - got them counted in for the monthly tally and thanks for getting this week's in!!
Yesterday's exercise for me:
11508 steps + 20 mins yoga
Just finishing some on call work for my job and then we are off to hike! The weather is beautiful in Alberta this weekend.
Enjoy the day everyone.

Cold weather came and I’m like, ”Well, I guess my running season is over!” 😂 I’m such a wimp. But, no. Thanks to a Garmin 5k challenge, I’ll get out there in a little while.
I haven’t slept in since sometime in the spring (or last cold weather Sunday morning). It felt so good. 😴🙂7 -

@steph1498 thank you
@ashleycarole86 thank you so much!
@micki48 thank you so much, so nice of you! Yes, we definitely can do anything! Congrats on hitting onederland again, so close to 196! Really glad that you are enjoying Pilates too
@jugar thank you! I actually just lost 2.5 lbs this week, rest was the bloat and water weight from my workouts and maintenance eating last week. And I did have a cheat dinner — chocolate, belgian ice cream and two Mcd Crispy chicken burgers! I am feeling sane again now lol5 -
@ashleycarole86 steps for this week! I forget if running mileage counts for extra/exercise steps, but if so, pace for the distances shown below would all be about 5mph or just under a 12 min mile.
Sun: 13,196 +1 mile
Mon: 16,255
Tues: 12,245 +2 miles
Wed: 17,433 +45min Zumba
Thurs: 17,782 +0.5 miles
Fri: 17,979 +1 mile
Sat: 17,307
Already over 17k for today as well, but planning an evening walk so maybe a 20k+ day for me! I'm being a bit more conscious about stretching, since this is a LOT of walking and I do feel some muscle fatigue by the end of the week.
Happy Sunday all!5 -
Well done, our top 3! Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration
It was a nice quiet day here - out in the woods collecting twigs for winter fire starting, wandering all over. On the flip side, setting traps for mice in the basement, and cleaning up their mess...
Who's on tap for weigh-ins?
@Terytha
@DD265
@TessieMac833
may the scale be with you!

@ashleycarole86 steps
Sunday 11 minutes cardio
Monday 16 minutes Pilates
Tuesday 18 minutes Pilates
Wednesday 16 minutes Pilates + 30 minutes gardening
Thursday 27 minutes Pilates + 27 minutes ball bouncing
Friday 16 minutes Pilates
Went on a 57 minute walk in the woods with my husband today. It was so nice to get out there. Logged all my food and was under. Yay.
I did have one of my husband’s amazing piña colada cupcakes. Yes, I counted it. He loves retro type recipes.5 -
Exercise 10/17 - 19290
Brad and I found a new favorite hike today. The weather was warm today... so lovely to get a few more of these days in before the snow comes to stay.
@micki48 OH my... those cupcakes look divine!
@jugar Dealing with anything mice related is a major phobia of mine... lol. That totally brings out an irrational side of me. Every year when we go to open up our trailer I am just cringing opening the door hoping there are no bad surprises.. so far so good.
@Kali225 Yes there is extra credit for running so thanks for giving those details!4 -
Hope everyone had a nice weekend 😊
It was a good weekend here with warm days. The kids had a sleepover at grandma's so that means date night for hubby and I. Our garden is all cleaned up and the pumpkins are waiting to be carved. I am really glad the garden is done. I finally caught up with my veggie drawer! Our garden is the only fenced space on the property. Our youngest dog can only be off leash in fenced areas. He LOVES vegetables and is forbidden from the garden during the growing season. He is happy to be allowed back in so he can run.
My weekend workouts included a ballet session, weights, walking and house keeping. Completed all of my meal prep and feel ready for the week. Yesterday was my free day for food. Today I was in calories but I used exercise calories. Had to squeeze in apple pie after dinner.
@jugar Hope you catch the mouse! Living in the country lends itself to unwanted visitors from time to time. When my kids were very little my daughter had a dollhouse and it had a little baby crib. Not sure how, but a baby mouse ended up in the crib! My son really wanted to know where she got the toy baby mouse and how did it look so real? Well, it was real!!! My kids still remember that to this day.5 -

@micki48 those cupcakes look great. I must make the lemon ones ASAP to curb my jealousy lol.
@conleywoods I hope you enjoyed date night.
I feel urgh and I think the gain is largely related to that. Suspect that now we have some breathing room my body and mind are just like "yep, we need a break, gimme".
That said I had another great PT session this morning. This time it was a circuit with some running, battle rope, assault bike and weights; deadlift, back squat, cleans, front squat and overhead press. Similarly to last week I struggled with the weight initially on everything bar the deadlift, probably because we went straight in at 30kg, but on the subsequent sets I was moving a lot better. I noticed such a difference on the runs afterwards too, and it's like my body goes "oh this again? no problem" but I take a while to rebuild my confidence.
My day started at 5.15am and I didn't sleep well, so I was channelling my inner zombie until we started training which woke me right up. Got home about 7.20am, fed the cats, did a couple of tidying up bits, and then spent the next HOUR prepping the pork stew for the slow cooker, meaning I had to have a rushed 3 minute shower before a 9am meeting, with further time pressure added by an unsettled stomach. And yep, I technically start work at 8.30am lol. I don't know about everyone else, but I find you can usually take the prep time in a recipe and double it. I've ended up splitting the stew into two 4-serving batches as it didn't look like everything would fit in the slow cooker, but I've prepped the lot so that's time saved for tomorrow. It smells really nice every time I go near the kitchen and I'm not sure whether it's the smells or being unwell that's making me super hungry.
I'm not going to push the doing-stuff for the rest of today with the exception of making those cupcakes tonight if the eggs won't keep, need to check the date. It'd be nice to plough through and get things done, but I'm conscious that if I don't rest up this week, I risk being properly ill next week when we're off work. Listening to my body when it wants rest is often something I struggle with.6 -
Happy Monday!
Nice and dreary out today, so I will get things done in the house. Including mouse patrol. It does not bother me, and there are always many to remove every Fall. I'm always glad when it is done and I can clean up and be ready to be able to use my cold room again.
@micki48
I should send you and your hubby all my really old cookbooks! I have a few that just sit there looking old. So many cool recipes for things I never eat I have a lot of my grandmother's recipes too, but we just don't eat meat much, and in general the sweet stuff is hard to adapt to my OH celiac. Or at least that is what I tell myself and mostly stick to it! There is one for doughnut muffins that just kills me it is so good, but I usually resist until my daughter comes home to visit. That is one time I'm glad she lives far away...
@conleywoods
I love the baby mouse in the doll crib story! That is amazing. We ended up with one young mouse my kids insisted that we keep in a lovely (secure!) enclosure for a while. They named it and fed it almonds and fruits, but it did not take well to such a rich diet and it died It was lovely while it lasted. Cute little fellas.
@DD265
Amazing training session! Not to mention down-to-the-wire timing on your 8:30 meeting - well done!2 -
Almost on to Tuesday. Managed to get my steps over 9k, did 15 minutes of booty Pilates. Had my family here most of the day and for dinner. My food is logged and under but about 1,600 calories. Need to get it back down a couple hundred calories.
@conleywoods I love the baby mouse in a crib story. So cute and wild too. Makes me think Stewart Little may have been around or The Littles Family.
Thanks for the compliments on the cupcakes. They were very delicious, so I have been busy giving them to family and two neighbors. I’m done. Not eating anymore.
@ashleycarole86 Glad you found another great hike. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be.
Hope everyone is having a good week. We finally had some chilly weather. 😀
@Terytha hope you are doing ok. Thinking of you.5 -
Phew! Survived what felt like a moody Monday. I felt fine but I guess the rest of the world didn't. Glad it's the evening and my kids are in bed. Today was very good for food. I'm working on slowly bumping my calories up since I am lifting heavy. I would love to have a bigger calorie budget as I head into the holiday season. Last weeks calorie increase went well and resulted in a loss. I will keep an eye on the scale this week and hope for similar results. I just had my quick workout tonight so I was able to do it while dinner cooked.
@jugar Some of the little mice are really cute but oh what a mess they make!
@micki48 You are doing such a great job! Glad you got rid of the cupcakes. I'm a real sucker for cupcakes. Good thing my favorite bakery is so expensive so we only get them a few times a year!6 -
such a lovely but quiet day - I didn't do super well on steps today but managed a good biking session tonight. Gotta hit the weights tomorrow!
Just 3 weigh-ins due up through Tuesday:
@Terytha (missing you!!!)
@TessieMac833
@Kali225
Thanks!5 -
Hey all!
Just squeezed in my 10K equivalent today - 5285 steps and 40 minutes on the Peloton (one ride in the morning, one ride at night)
Work is very busy (one can't ask for anything else after being away three weeks) so I'm just doing what I can to keep my head above water!
Tomorrow Brad and I celebrate two years of marriage! So excited! We aren't going out but Brad is an amazing cook and we have a very special meal in planned. Looking forward to it.8 -
Congratulations @ashleycarole86 and Bowens1973 - I hope you enjoy your special meal and maybe a celebratory hike
Had a quieter evening last night; mostly PC-admin rather than moving around. The UK has lost a few energy suppliers and unfortunately ours is one of the ones that has gone bust. Found out last night who we're moving to, and the electricity cost now will almost be the same as gas and electric combined with our now-ex supplier. This does not bode too well for our budget, but it's completely out of our control and we don't have any good options. Between that and OH's impending job change, I'm reprioritising and streamlining our budget.
I did put the second batch of stew in the slow cooker overnight so that was done (maybe slightly overdone at the top edges...) this morning. I think options for a slow cooker with a delayed start are limited, but it's unusual to not be able to run it during the day so not normally an issue. We plan to replace the slow cooker and air fryer with a Ninja Foodie eventually, and the current models don't have a delay function.
No plans for any decluttering tonight because we're going to see Riverdance. I am very excited. I've loved Irish dancing since I was a little girl, and practically wore out Granny's Lord of the Dance VHS lol.8 -
@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 Happy anniversary! Hope you enjoy your night in together ❤1
